Silly but well intentioned I think it's a really good storyline, personally. Sarah is repeating her mother's mistakes with Victor and there's nothing any of them can do about it. It's just fate. Sarah had her chance to break from Xander for good but she couldn't bring herself to do it. (Although to be honest I don't think she could have gotten away with masquerading Victoria as Rex's even if her heart was actually in it.) 1 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/124/#findComment-8467969

chediavolo October 1 Share October 1 I’m kind of glad that this body and soul crap has been on because I can’t really concentrate on the show after hearing about the passing of Drake. I’ve been watching him since he first came on the show when he was a young good-looking guy. From everything I’ve read he was so kind to everyone. And way too young to pass. I hope they do an entire shows tribute to him soon and I’ll break out the hanky. 7 1 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/124/#findComment-8470028

BuckeyeLou October 2 Share October 2 I skipped the past two days...not interested in B&S. But, today's show had the storylines I am interested in. NuTate is growing on me & growing into his role, his scenes with Brady were very emotional & heart-felt. Well done by both actors. And the scenes with Fiona & Sarah were also emotional, Fiona's guilt is tearing her apart & Sarah is so kind to her. Holly, Tate & Sophia's scene in the square after Holly hit Sophia were intense: I really enjoyed seeing Tate loose his cool, he is a Loyal son. And Kristen & EJ as Siblings at battle. And then the ending! What a surprise! Look who it is! 1 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/124/#findComment-8470807
brisbydog October 2 Share October 2 I liked today too. Kristen casually offering to disappear or murder Sarah was a good warning to Brady that she has not changed at all. Of course, nor has Xander, but he is operating on misinformation and stupidity right now. I am more interested to know what he does when he learns it was Fiona. Eric's scenes were clearly written for John. Oh how I wish we could have had those scenes with him and Xander, instead of Eric, who I loathe. I'm guessing Rolf will come up with a miracle cure for Sarah which Kristen will trade for Brady's freedom. 3 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/124/#findComment-8470832

I don't know if that's the case - It could have been - but it was so nice seeing Eric stare down Xander coolly, given their history. I could easily believe him getting involved when his parents house was invaded by a guy who already attempted to kill two of them. It was a nice change to see him being active and not passive. I guess Sarah really doesn't know that it was Fiona. Her dialogue and behavior today made no sense if she knows it was Fiona. Oh well. It would have been a nice twist. Rolfe! Been a while. boes October 3 Share October 3 I really enjoyed today's show, too. And while it actually hurts to type this, I didn't even mind Kristen....... (that may be a reaction to Body and Soul, or a sinus infection). In any case, I had no complaints about any of it, pretty much enjoyed it all. Even Sophia, who I'm seeing as having possibilities beyond just being Holly and Tate's spoiler. While I didn't mind the scene, I just can't take Eric seriously when he tries to be the heavy. He always seems more the tantrum than the threatening type. I liked the Sarah/Fiona scenes, especially. I love both actresses and think they both manage to do more with their scenes than the dialogue suggests. Fiona is a mess and obviously not doing the right things but she's tortured by it and we can see that. Sarah, today, let us see that she's not some sort of plaster saint, that she wants some payback for the person who hit her and then drove off. Good stuff. Dr Rolf.......well, it's been a while so I'm cautiously ready to see what rabbits he pulls out of his hat this time. At least I think so..... 4 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/124/#findComment-8471172

There hasn't been a teen scene on the show since the days of Teen Ciara and Claire, so I was feeling the scenes. Sofia's a bitch but would you really expect Holly to not have a mean girl friend? BuckeyeLou October 3 Share October 3 I really enjoyed the family scenes today: Xander & Maggie(who is like a Mother to him) had a good scene where Maggie pleaded with Xander to stop is vendetta against Brady & concentrate on helping his wife. Paul Telfer(Xander) is so good at playing a "grey character", I love him when is romantic with Sarah & gushing over his baby girl, but the past couple of days, Xander has returned to his "bad guy" side...wanting to use violence against his enemies, his Kiriakis side is taking over altho he is fighting against it, but I like seeing Xander struggling between his "nice guy for Sarah" and his previous thug side. 5 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/124/#findComment-8471708
DisneyBoy October 3 Share October 3 (edited) So, so close today... For a while there, Sophia sounded reasonable and apologetic, a nice counterpoint to the way the show's been characterizing her as the cliched skanky, desperate bad girl...and just as I'm thinking "nice - they've pulled back on that, and see how much more interesting she is?" whammo! she forces Tate into a kiss. Again. They do know SA can be Female-on-Male, right? If the tables were turned, Tate would get a very bad reputation for this behaviour. The actress is terrific, but the constant aggression needs to stop. She already practically stripped naked in front of him. We get it! Tate gets it! Pull back, already! And also, for a while there, I was intrigued by what kind of twist Rolfe could bring to the Kristen side of the Sarah story, and believed it could be something new and clever (because apparently I'm as dense as Brady today!) and then whammo! ReRon rears his head again to dust off the "Kristen saves John from an endless coma with a miracle drug after Theresa attacked him, in exchange for Brady" plot all over again...even though we just saw that with the Marlena/Kayla/Kate orchid storyline like...a year ago? Yeesh. And worse, Kristen, without any proof whatsoever, rushes to cut a deal with Xander in exchange for Brady, before she knows the serum will work!! Sigh. This show needs to chill. I did largely enjoy the episode, mind you, for the same reasons you noted Buckeye. Maggie putting her foot down gently with Xander was great. Marlena was so weird by the end of her chat with Brady - very distant and "professional" instead of motherly. I hate that Deidre stopped differentiating between the way Doc treats her patients and her own children years ago. She raised this guy! Tucked him in as a tyke! Got him to school! Where's the goodbye hug? The kiss? Holly going to see Nicole makes a lot of sense. I just wish we could see those scenes with Nicole, in spite of Ari. It's a real shame they didn't film a few more appearances before things turned ugly IRL. Soapy Goddess October 4 Share October 4 Your mileage might vary, but IMO a kiss is hardly sexual abuse. Especially since they were both talking about feelings and Tate seemed open to hers. DisneyBoy October 4 Share October 4 I don't know what the legal definition of sexual assault is, but if you keep grabbing at someone and pulling them in for kisses and cornering them half-naked with them repeatedly saying "no"......I mean.... Look, I get it. This is a pretty tired soap trope. The girl willing to put out versus the good virgin girl fighting over the same guy. Tate will end up sleeping with Sophia I bet, but only because "boys will be boys" and he'll get a pass, then Sophia will get thrown aside because she's obviously the "trashy one" for wanting sex, cue the creaky pipe organ music that used to be used on soaps... It's disappointing for the show to frame having a healthy sex drive at that age as some kind of evil thing. For my money it's far worse for DOOL to depict their "good" characters staying virgins until marriage, then rush down the aisle at 19...only to break up a year later, as so many of these couples often do. Honestly, I'd like this story much better if Sophia realized - as she seemed to today - that she's only embarrassing herself with Tate and pulled back, leaving Tate to make up his own mind and want her for who she is and not because of some manipulation on her part. Truthfully, Holly really has been an awful girlfriend and it has been endless drama since Day One. Tate's been completely in denial about their weird relationship all year. I'd be fine with him moving on with Sophia...but not if she has to be portrayed as "the skank who tricked him into bed". That's so lame. 6 2 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/124/#findComment-8472094

brisbydog October 4 Share October 4 I just realized that thanks to the brilliant editors who lump all B&S BS together, I have not seen Leo since Xander's wedding day, and have only seen Alex once (watching Ted with Stephanie). That is almost 6 weeks without my two least favourite characters annoying me. And naturally the two 'stars' of the wretched soap I have not seen even once. So Score! Today, EJ was a delight, especially pointing out that Coma!Rafe and awake Rafe are much the same entity. I can't figure out the Greenes. Maybe Fabby was in the car accident that supposedly killed the parents, so Aaron and Felicity think she is dead? Feels like they are making things up as they go along. I am fully expecting Mom Greene to be Catharina Melionous, to tie up the John story in a neat bow: He is absolved of being a killer and it explains why he was abducted from her grave and kept hostage. Sort of anyway. 6 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/124/#findComment-8472648

I do think Holly not having her mom around has really hampered the character you at least see Tate with Brady, getting to know Sophia a bit but has Holly even interacted with Maggie at all? Back during her 90210 days, I really, really wanted her to get something similar to Sex in the City and with her playing a Samantha type role. She would have absolutely killed that. I mean, she still can. Netflix, are you listening? LOL But yeah, she's good. I don't want to say that I think she's too good for the show, but Disney Boy kinda already did. LOL ALM is playing the hell out of her guilt about lying to Chad, and nearly breaking down about seeing her little sister and brother but having to pretend she's somebody's else. I'm always here for a classic "self-loathing schemer with a secret heart of gold" soap character ala Karen Wolek or Blair Cramer. It's been doing wonders for the Mark Greene character to be having this dynamic with Fabby because he's seemed much more relaxed as opposed to his first scenes. You're welcome! 😊 That isn't meant as a slight to the other actors, though. Rather, playing the 3rd incarnation of a character that was driven into the ground several times over isn't a great place to work from. She deserved an original character to inhabit. I 100% agree she would kill a Samantha type role. 3 hours ago, methodwriter85 said: It's been doing wonders for the Mark Greene character to be having this dynamic with Fabby because he's seemed much more relaxed as opposed to his first scenes. Soapy Goddess October 6 Share October 6 IMO there's no such thing as "too good" for a soap opera. I don't think Mac Carey would be too thrilled to hear that...or any other primetime actor for that matter. From everything we know about soaps, they have a LOT more dialog to learn for one episode than some have for weeks in prime time. And most of that dialog has to be done in one take (or fewer takes than prime time). I think we should give credit where credit it due. 4 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/124/#findComment-8473883
DisneyBoy October 6 Share October 6 As I clarified in my last post, I am not looking down on the actors, many of whom are extremely talented and skilled. ALM is accomplished and deserved to originate a part, not play the 3rd version (maybe) of a previous character with tons of baggage in a weird plotline. And she is a performer with really big primetime credits coming onto a daytime show that's no longer airing on tv the way it used to, with a tight budget and wackadoo writing. So, as a fan of hers, it's not exactly an ideal career move. Most people are trying to break out of soaps, sadly, not into them. I've always respected good soap actors. I just wish the current iteration of the medium respected them. 7 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/124/#findComment-8473987

DisneyBoy October 7 Share October 7 Out of respect for Jackee's career, I will say nothing 🤐😄 It strikes me as a bad idea to tell the viewers that Chad and Fabigail are going to Paris when you've just sent Holly there to meet up with her mother, whom you will not be able to show us. Now I'm looking forward to Chad/Nicole/Holly/Eric/Jude/Fabby scenes we will never get. Sigh. ....is anyone shipping ALM with BF yet? It feels like a mismatch to me. 4 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/124/#findComment-8475020
4evaQuez October 7 Share October 7 I mean Jackee was the first black woman to win a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Acrtess in a Comedy Series, and she's still one of less than 40 black women to ever win an Emmy. She's been able to overcome racism and sexism in a field that doesn't respect or value black women to have a career that lasted decades. She's been in two comedy series that is seen as iconic, at least in the black community, and she is currently doing voiceover work for an animated series. I don't think there's anything anyone can say that can disrespect her career. I find it insulting that someone would even suggest such a thing. 8 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/124/#findComment-8475048

While, in general, I think this plot is somewhat interesting I'm having a problem with the whole "telling the kids" thing. Chad keeps saying the children need her, but even if she really WAS Abigail, she isn't the Abigail those children need. To her, they are STRANGERS. She couldn't say she loves them because she would have no memory of them. Those children are FAR too young to be able to manage their expectations. They would simply be doubly hurt that their own mother apparently doesn't love them anymore. 6 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/124/#findComment-8475099

DisneyBoy October 8 Share October 8 I tuned in for 5 minutes today. 😲 It was, no exaggeration, horrendously cringey. How did NBC okay this? ...are they trying to destroy Days? I'd take a few episodes of Mime Bo over months and months and months of this. It's an all-time low. 👀 Unwatchable. 6 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/124/#findComment-8475935

I think you mean Peacock(even though it's really the same thing). I have maintained that these networks want out of the soap business and they are trying to drive viewers away by any means necessary. Soap fans are formidable though so.. 3 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/124/#findComment-8476052

Rodney October 9 Share October 9 Is Hattie that narcissistic that she can't see why she was fired and Bonnie was not? 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/124/#findComment-8476502
brisbydog October 9 Share October 9 Really good show, everything linked. I dislike Eric but I don't mind him here. It makes sense that he wants to help save Brady from himself. Obviously it should have been John doing this and it hurts that it is not, but somebody has to ask the questions that Eric is. Brady is such a dunce. I liked that Fiona was about to tell Brady the truth until Kristen came in. I know she will be outed dramatically but maybe Brady will recall she was going to fess up. I wanted more of a catfight between Fiona and Kristen. I'd be interested to see who would win that one. Kristen knows just how to push Xander's buttons, and Sarah sure came around fast. I think her frustration at not being able to be an effective parent that day pushed her into making a snap decision. How can EJ refuse her recanting though? Honestly she can still say she saw Brady's face, but not behind the wheel, when this all comes to a head. I still think EJ is going to demand something from Xander in exchange for accepting this. And I am pretty sure that it will be Titan, given EJ's buying up shares earlier this year. EJ was rather awful to Stefan, but amusing. I like the call back to Melinda having a crush on him. Hopefully there is no Cardboard Stefan at her house. 2 1 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/124/#findComment-8476503

I hardly care, but how can they fire Hattie if they only just started shooting and how is the plot so advanced that all these things are happening in a show that only just began/rebooted? Alex - Arrow? - was saying something about "begonias" as a reference to a Kristen Orchid type storyline...but when did they even film that?? BS indeed. And why tf is the hospital letting them film there?!? 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/124/#findComment-8476529
brisbydog October 9 Share October 9 I don't watch BS episodes so I am happily able to ignore it. And the bonus is that it is as if Leo and Alex have basically left the show for me. 3 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/124/#findComment-8476636
