Rodney October 29 Share October 29 Nice Eric/Holly scenes. It's good that they made up before Eric left again to go back to Paris. So Sophia eats snail-based dishes? I'd thought that escargot was the only dish ever made out of snails. It was also cute to hear that Holly and Sophia had actually been close since first grade, at least. I kind of dig Tate with Sophia. Yet part of me hopes that he and Holly reconcile, too. Good Cat/Mark scenes. I was glad to see that they're remorseful about this. As they should be. I do hope that Chad forgives them. When he remembers what a monster Clyde is, he'll surely come to understand their actions. Liked Steve and Marlena's scenes. Too bad Drake can't be here to play John's relief at Konstantin's daughter being alive, after all. Decent episode today. 5 1 Link to comment

They were...but did we even get to see Maggie talking with Holly about her opinion of Eric? About how he grieved Daniel and beat himself up? I'd have loved to see those scenes. Tate and Sophia have a lot of chemistry. I'm glad things are tilting towards them as a couple. Let Holly be single for a while. Such a shame Eric and Nicole are gone now, though. She needed more time with her real parents. Tough seeing this John Is Innocent stuff playing out knowing Drake doesn't get to be a part of it. They obviously couldn't remove John from the plot - it was written to absolve him, clearly - but still. His absence is pretty keenly felt. Glad they did the dedication at the end...but damn. It hurt to see that. Poor Drake. I hope he wasn't in too much pain these last few months. He was so strong for so long on this show. Difficult to think of him suffering. brisbydog October 29 Share October 29 Where is Maggie? We last saw her on her way to see Kristen to confront her about holding the serum hostage. Did Kristen stick her in the secret room? Rodney November 1 Share November 1 Nice aunt/niece scenes between Sarah and Holly. Well, save for the moments when Linsey slipped into her baby-talking voice. Well, if Tate and Sophia had sex that quickly, then they're not the endgame teen couple. It's pretty obvious that Tate's endgame is going to be Holly. It sounds like Philip's letter from Victor was actually real. And it's good that he's hesitating in the plan because of Sarah's condition. The fact that Xander even talked about Philip being, whether by his hand or not, continues to show that he hasn't changed a lick. He's just continuing to push his old self down. Johnny and Joy really did have sex, didn't they? John-Paul needs to be careful with the physical theatrics. It's good that he gives his performances all that he has, but neither Jay nor Kyle would've played Philip like that. When Vivian mentioned carrying Philip in her womb for nine months, I wish that Philip had said, "Because you stole my embryo from my mother!" Are the blue streaks in her hair part of Kate's character are part of Lauren? 3 Link to comment

It's Lauren paying homage to a friend. They've been there, without explanation, for a good 15 years now. I really enjoyed Kate warning Chanel about jealousy by using Philip's storyline as an example. I don't remember her saying much about him faking his death since it happened...but there was plenty today. Are they going to mention Chloe though? Did Nancy? brisbydog November 1 Share November 1 Not that thrilling for a Friday episode. I don't care about the teen drama, especially if Tate is going to dump poor Sophia just because toxic Holly comes crawling back. The Joy/Johnny/Chanel stuff is stupid. I liked Vivian and Philip together very much, the actors are fantastic together, and I am looking forward to the Kate/Viv confrontation Monday. Other than that, I liked old partners in crime Xander and Kristen trying to force each other to murder Philip, Xander's 'terse' acknowledgement of Chanel after he hollered at Kate, and him noting during said hollering that Philip would never have cooked up this scheme by himself. Hope we get something more exciting tomorrow at Day of Days in terms of a preview of more exciting things to come. 3 1 Link to comment

DisneyBoy November 4 Share November 4 Philip, since when has Xander struggled with following-through? That's actually his number one problem! Ask Marlena and Brady! Seriously, JPL is just imitating Ryan Reynolds at this point. It's annoying because Philip's dialogue has been solid and yet he totally undermines it. Since when has Sophia confided in Ava? Feels like, after Fiona, she might just stop trusting creepy older gals with her private life. I really found it comforting to see Stacey attempt to eat a cookie. Poor Brady. Even his happy moments with Kristen and Rachel are sad...because they're both crazy and he'll only get hurt in the end. Holly has matured more in the last few weeks than in the last few months. Kate isn't doing it for her own villainous reasons. 33 minutes ago, Rodney said: Has Vivian always called Philip her son? Even though he's Kate's? It's annoying how she won't accept or admit that. She did when she first returned to the canvas with Carly in the 2000s. Kate and Vivian sparred about Vivian's "affection" for Philip back then, too. Philip seemed more annoyed and exasperated by Vivian back then. He also didn't trust her, but Vivian calling Philip her son feels in character to me. Louise Sorel is a fantastic actress and Vivian's meddling played such an important role in the saga of Lawrence, Katerina (Carly) and Nicky. She was such a presence. Her schemes entertained me. But I could equally dislike her for what she did. Lawrence might fall into the category of a villain I loved. Which I would accept in a twisted way if not for the fact that they have given her three retcon sons since which ended up defeating a large part of why she carried Phillip to begin with. Then again Vivian always claims ownership of other women's kids. For years she raised Nicholas as her adopted son and kept him from Lawrence/Carly for years. Agreed on Bristen. I don't get why they can't have Brady settle down with a sane woman and deal with family drama now with John gone. He's enough of a fuck up on his own without adding a crazy lady. The Tate/Holly thing reminds me of Austin/Carrie in the 90s when Austin tried to tell Carrie about Sami(at the time he thought he was drunk and not drugged) but Carrie wouldn't let him tell her. All this was saved up for the big reveal. 3 1 Link to comment

I believe Sophia has said she doesn't have the greatest relationship with her own mom, so that may be why she confides in other older women. The conversation between Tate and Brady today was interesting. Tate said he slept with Sophia, and Brady was very unfazed. He did at the end say Tate would be in trouble if he had another co-ed sleepover, but, unless I missed it, there was not one word about protection. Tate is like 17, right? If Sophia got pregnant, it could completely change the course of Tate's life. (Do I sound like a prude?) We did get a glimpse of Leo Howard's arm tattoo when he hugged Brady, then later, Holly's bright pink lipstick ended up on Tate's white shirt after the two of them hugged. I'm always surprised more makeup doesn't end up on shirts-- setting spray, maybe? Also, what was Jada doing picking up a phone call from Rafe during Vivian's arrest? I know it was to set up Jada possibly getting shot, but come on! Rafe didn't even know she was at the Salem Inn, so it wasn't like he was calling her with information that would be time sensitive to this case. What made Lawrence unique and perfect as a villain was that he was neither the obsessive type like Cal Winters nor the sleazy type like Johnny Corelli. He was a great villain of complex nature. Ruthless, confident, fearsome, commanding, charming, mysterious, classy, and even caring all wrapped up in his personality. One'd be simultaneously afraid and mesmerized in his proximity. He was on par with Stefano in the villain league. Fun trivias about Michael Sabatino. He was a pole vaulter in real life. While attending University of Califnornia at Irvine, MS set a school record. DisneyBoy November 5 Share November 5 Brady's getting some nice mature parental moments with his kids this week...it's about time! Really good work from the Holly actress. I still wish this was the original Tate - he was so kind-hearted and inexperienced - but even though this guy reads as "experienced" he's not bad. I kinda like Javi but I dread where things are going with him. He has crazy eyes and will probably do crimes with Leo. And be forced to worship him.
