This episode was too precious. I didn't like it. Things weren't appropriate to the situation. Eugene's threat to expose Hornsby and Connie's Watergate investigation that is threatening to expose the higher ups come across as silly. The information would be useful to our gang, but Commonwealth is so unreal, who cares about informing pod people.

I kind of wonder if Hornsby is a good guy. His response to Eugene was rather sensible when I thought he was going to physically threaten Eugene.

I guess Connie's sister has a whole Pro Styl'n crew available to her during the apocalypse.

I really didn't need a Eugene centric episode but, at least we learned some things. I still don't understand why Time Guy, "Stephanie" and those people Eugene were stalking were all meeting in secret. I get that they used Eugene but, I don't get the rest of it.

I'm pretty sure Connie is dying soon...or maybe she gets her sister killed. They've put too much into that warning and then the list of names.  I'm assuming Mercer provided the list.  I really liked the scene in her apartment. Not, only did they remember to use the blinking light as a doorbell but, I liked that Connie didn't close the door all the way and because she turned away and can't hear she didn't notice. I thought that was a neat touch

This is the part of our little apocalypse family that I don't like - why come there trying to expose anything. Just leave. Jesus it's bothering me. Look at all they have survived and been through but it's pissing them off that lower class people have to live in crappy apartments and can't go to the fancy parties. In the grand scheme of things - does it matter? I know it's not right but under the circumstances, I think I would just take my food rations and sit down. Can't imagine finding a better deal in this world.

Yeah, I'm like "food, sleeping inside, no one or thing attacking me? Sounds ok!" I can't imagine anyone with a kid turning that down.

Agreed! Jerry especially - he got a little Brady Bunch going. I thought he had more than 3 kids; for some reason I thought they had 4 and she was pregnant during the ice storm. I need to re-watch that episode.

REMOVED - realized my statement was a spoiler from watching 1 week ahead. My apologies - hope no one read that

I find it a real chore just to suffer through Eugene's dialogue. I don't think the way he talks is funny, or cute, or quirky, or interesting. It's just annoying as hell, and stupid, and by now someone should have kicked his ass and told him to talk normally. I was really, really hoping Hornsby would kill him in that final scene. That would have been the best thing this show has done in years. Put me out of my misery.

I've never really warmed up to Connie or Kelly either, so overall it was hard to get invested in this episode. But then, there are so few characters left that I give a damn about that's going to be harder and harder for the show to manage. It doesn't help that most of the contract players listed in the opening credits didn't even appear in this episode.

Mercer and real Stephanie are siblings? Uh, sure.

I cannot stand to hear him talk.  I don't think ANYONE talks like that.   You'd  have to pay me a lot to pretend to be his girlfriend.   Yes, kill him.

Keeping in mind I’m a purely “objective” observer (insofar as I haven’t been seen any of the Commonwealth episodes) - but the only reason I can think it would matter is if the “upper class” types were consuming substantially more resources than they were contributing in their pursuit of an elevated lifestyle.

Why was she packing to leave so hurriedly? Am I misunderstanding, or was she doing it at right about the time she was supposed to have met Eugene for ice cream later in the day? Why not just do it at a leisurely pace immediately after Eugene left in the morning?

So are the guards in on this secret society. Because how would Mercer not know she wasn't Stephanie? Or was he just playing along because he knew it was really his sister? How was no one upset that Eugene confessed to speaking to one of their residents on the radio? It was a lot of holes in this story and I hope the pay off is worth it because if they are just mad because they are poor then I'm going to roll my eyes so hard.

I thought she was urgently packing while ignoring Eugene knocking at the door. In any case, his date with her was in the daytime, as we see him sitting outdoors with two ice cream cones. By evening or early evening, he's still sitting there, with the melted ice cream while everything around him has closed and nobody else is around.

Still, I don't know why she wouldn't just do it earlier and not in some heated rush.

I was just responding your time inquiry. Otherwise, I have no idea what the urgency was. Who was she running from? Wasn't the plumber. Eugene isn't a threat to her and her general relationship with Eugene was already known about town.

That's a good point actually.  I think they call these First World problems?  Compared to what we've seen in the first ten seasons of what the world outside is like, we're supposed to be outraged that some people have to work in the service industry?  Just what is the message here that they're trying to send?  Socialism good, capitalism bad?

This is the kind of episode that has derailed the show.  The storyline gets going along, and BAM it gets stopped to a complete halt as they have an episode focusing on one or two side characters.  That said, I did enjoy the episode.  Eugene looked like a complete mess in this one, with his sweaty bangs hanging over his eyes all the time lol.

“Show me a man or a woman alone and I'll show you a saint.
- Give me two and they'll fall in love.
- Give me three and they'll invent the charming thing we call 'society'.
- Give me four and they'll build a pyramid.
- Give me five and they'll make one an outcast.
- Give me six and they'll reinvent prejudice.
- Give me seven and in seven years they'll reinvent warfare.
Man may have been made in the image of God, but human society was made in the image of His opposite number, and is always trying to get back home.”
