The couples of Love During Lockup:  

Haley & Dalton (Highland Village, TX)

Things have moved fast for Haley and Dalton, whose paths crossed prior to Dalton’s prison sentence, but Haley is expecting the big proposal and a ring once Dalton gets out… whenever that might be. In the meantime, Haley has dipped into her car accident settlement money to pay for Dalton’s legal fees– a lot for the single mom who works six days a week cleaning homes. Even worse, Dalton has shown a jealous streak and doesn’t like that Haley and her ex-Jarrett peacefully co-parent their 6-year-old son Hendrix. But is Dalton making a big deal of Haley’s ex to deflect from his own ex-girlfriend issues?

Indie & Harry (Beltsville, MD)

Indie was scrolling through TikTok one day and stumbled upon a video of an extremely attractive inmate, who she later dreamt about and ultimately pursued. However, Indie’s mom is a bounty hunter who has started an investigation on Harry and will use the full power of her profession to prove Harry is nothing more than a criminal. When Indie takes the advice of a trusted psychic, whom she consults everything with, and packs up her daughters’ life to move to Ohio, she might be left alone in a new city regretting everything as she awaits Harry’s supposed release.

Santiba & Talsey (Portland, ME)

Santiba is a recent divorcee who lost a hundred pounds and gained the man of her dreams- inmate Talsey. She met Talsey through Writeaprisoner.com, and they hit it off. He’s spent almost a decade behind bars, and upon his release Santiba plans to move from Maine to Georgia to be together, even though they’ve never met in person.

Gabrielle & Christopher (Orange, NJ)

Gabrielle and Chris met through Gabrielle’s cousin’s incarcerated boyfriend, and after quickly falling for one another, Chris decided to shower Gabrielle with the finer things– including a house, a BMW, and a $5000 engagement ring. Christopher’s family is worried she may be using him for his money. Chris’ family has plans to confront Gabrielle and her intentions. Meanwhile, Gabrielle’s family also have doubts of their own, especially her mother, who calls Gabby a ‘maneater’ because of many failed engagements. Will this be any different?

Max (Washington, DC)

Max is getting his masters in biochemistry at Georgetown University. You’d think with looks and the brains, Max could find a woman in the free world – but he’s been burned one too many times before. Max discovered WriteAPrisoner.com on a study break and loved that he could scan through for only the best-looking women. He’s always dated models and influencers. How will his friends react to his new method of meeting women? Max also has a very popular account where he sells steamy content for a premium price, often alongside his roommate Alessa. Max is worried Alessa wants a relationship with him, and he thinks it might be time to cut her off before she gets the wrong idea.

Tai (Buffalo, NY)

Tai’s passion for forensics led her to a career as a mortician and it also led to dating inmates. Tai keeps a shoebox of papers containing an updated log of her multiple inmates, their cases, and details about their sentences and lives. Her ideal profile is anyone pictured in a white t-shirt and grey sweats with a minimum sentence of five to ten years. Her interest in inmates has led her to four failed relationships, but Tai hopes her current relationship with inmate Rio, aka “Hottie,” will be the reason she keeps her love alive. But will a mystery call break Tai’s heart?

he went to paul vi, which is a private, catholic high school in the same town as me - we called it the rich kids’ school. you may remember paul vi being in the news some 20 years ago, when a man in his 40s posed as a teenager and enrolled as a student. he claimed to be stephen spielberg’s nephew 😆 after a few months he was busted, and was arrested for a bunch of stuff, including sexual assault/statutory rape because he was “dating” one of his female classmates. i met him a couple times bc his girlfriend lived next door to my best friend, and we definitely knew something was off from the moment we met him. i think the principal was fired over it. it was crazy!

I saw that, too!  Not surprised because he seemed like he wanted to be on a reality show for clout or to increase his social media presence. Why anyone would choose LAL or its offshoots is beyond me.

Max is just not that attractive to me.  He said on the show that he uses a prescription skin cream.  Is he fighting off 'roid-based acne?  He kind of looks like a bunch of good parts were put together but somehow they don't all match. 

Having watched the show Gigolos (a great bit of trash TV), it is hard to imagine that any of the Cowboys For Angels make serious bank.  Max included.  Then again, if he is a gigolo, maybe that's why he's looking for a prison bae. They are less likely to have an issue with his career choice.  He could hook up with Lacey but I don't want to see that horrorshow face ever again.  Also, that would leave them both without the ever-so-important prison connection.

YES! I couldn’t put it into words why he looked off to me but this is a perfect description.

My friend's kid went there and graduated a year after Max. It's a good school. Pricey but academically strong. It did just move though, from where it was to a a larger piece of land in a further out suburb.

Interesting that Max has a masters in chemistry but this is what he's doing with his life...

I've seen a few episodes of that show (none of the men were particularly good-looking). I've read that male escorts who only service women don't make much because the market is smaller - women who want no-strings-attached sex with men can typically find it without paying for it (although as the saying goes, you don't pay for sex, you pay them to go away afterward), especially in this age of apps. (I believe men make a lot less for straight porn scenes* than they do gay porn scenes too, hence "gay for pay.") I wouldn't pay to have sex with Max; I wouldn't have sex with him for free. He's not good-looking at all to me.

*Speaking of, some stills of Max's OnlyFans work are floating around the internet, and yeah, porn. He and his roommate/fuckbuddy/business partner (and girl, what? Stop it*) have a lot going on, I'll put it that way.

*Not judging the sex work, but based on the show, this arrangement doesn't serve her at all - he's using her for sex, both professional and recreational, she seems to actually like him That Way (which ... why?), and he clearly doesn't reciprocate. He gets all the benefits of a live-in GF without the emotional investment - great deal for him, shitty one for her.

They live together and sleep in the same bed, and I would bet they have sex regularly (for OnlyFans and just when they're horny - he said "we're already hooking up, we might as well share a bed" on the show). Of course she's going to "get the wrong idea."

Unsurprisingly, the Thomas T. Edwards Funeral Home of Buffalo (Tai's employer) does not list her as a member of their staff Staff They do have a rather nice website, though- very professional looking.

Of course the show was probably filmed some time ago, so it's possible she moved on or was fired for her shenanigans in the past.

While watching, I decided she wasn't a licensed mortician...yet.  She made some comment to a coworker about his helping her...or teaching her.  Maybe she was a mortuary student, or apprentice--OR, like Whoopi Goldberg, an employee who did the makeup on the deceased(s).  Just not a mortician

Latisha and Keith (Davenport, IA): LaTisha, 36,  is an accountant with two children (Dammit!  Bringing children into this mess!) She was looking for a prison pen pal when she fell in love with Keith.  Keith, 35, a.k.a. Li'l Mike, is serving a 14-year sentence for crack and marijuana possession with intent to distribute.  LaTisha is a successful business owner.  Somehow accountant and chasing prison peen don't seem to go together.  However, LaTisha is not your stereotypical accountant.  She loves a tight jumpsuit and sexy lingerie.  She also wants a man who will call the shots in their relationship that she can "submit" to.  

Jade and Chris (Naples, FL):  Jade is popular on TikTok for her videos featuring a cutout of Chris in his prison beige.  Yes, she includes Chris in various events from lounging at the pool to opening presents on Christmas morning. Chris is in for burglary, identity theft and grand theft.  While in prison, Chris has done some positive things.  He brought attention to and raised funds for the family of a girl with major medical issues. He also works at the prison making products designed specifically to help students with sensory issues stay calm and focused in the classroom. Chris has three kids of his own. He is an enrolled member of the Prairie Island Mdewakanton Dakota Tribe which entitles him to profit sharing from their casinos. So, does Jade truly lurv Chris or does she simply enjoy the income he provides? He is in for 30 years for his combo crimes, which included stealing drugs from a woman with cancer.  He had quite the criminal history and an enjoyment of meth that led to this stay with the state. 

Savannah and Jake (Iowa City, IA): Jake was arrested for robbery, burglary and marijuana possession in 2011 when he was just 18 years old; he looked 12.  He is now 30.  Savannah was cruising for a prison mate.  She is very possessive and jealous so yet an other "no red flags here" relationship on LDL!

Britney and Kerok (Richmond, VA): Britney and Kerok met while they were both incarcerated in the same women's prison.  Kerok is a transgender man who is undergoing medical transition while in prison.  Many prison staff are not supportive.  Meanwhile, Britney is out and living with Kerok's family while she attends beauty school.  

Andy and Brittney (Rome, GA): Andy is a twice-divorced ex-cop who decides prison was the best place to look for wife number 3.  He met Brittney with two Ts, a lovely, yet age appropriate lass. However, Andy may also simply be talking to as many female inmates as he can.  

Raneka and Asonta (Smyrna, GA): In a LAL/LDL first, we have a female, non-incarcerated rapper!  Raneka also owns a cosmetic business.  She moved to the Atlanta area to be closer to Asonta who she has yet to meet in person.

I'll say this for Tai... she seems to genuinely care for and respect the dead who pass through her funeral home. I don't think there are long lines of people who want to do that type of work and probably an even shorter subset of folks who do with with the respect and responsibility that it deserves. I've always tried to be a little more generous in my assessment of Tai for this reason.

I'm going to have to do some homework on the names of the new people, but so far the only ones I feel sorry for are the jug-eared warehouse manager and (maybe) the forlorn still-closeted gay guy.

The stripper with deflated boobs and 2 DUI's who sees herself and jailbird 'building their house' in a dreamy future 🙄

The 'stay at home mom' who's fine with dragging her kids to prison every weekend, and putting cameras in (almost) every room so jailbird can keep watch🙄 

Sorry to see that once again lots of children are being shown full-face and embroiled in these traumatic situations.
