I really liked Melissa Reid Paige and that they are bringing in people that can share perhaps new stretches and techniques to improve everyone's kicks.  Love it!

What is with the commercials? Next week I’m timing them cuz I’m pretty sure they take up more time than the actual show.

I think they should rework the Melissa/mentor sessions. I like the concept of dancing next to a vet and rewatching on video if there are technical issues that need correction. But Melissa's advice is not tangible. Telling a dancer to "get out of your head" usually results in a dancer getting more in their head. Showing her how she's "in her head" on video accomplishes nothing in my opinion.

I like Melissa, but I would rather hear what Caroline was saying in way of corrections.  Actual technical corrections.

I'm so glad Madeliene S got a positive shout out!  I've always liked her and thought she would be a great addition to DCC.  I sort of laughed about Lisa, Judy calling her stiff.  She has always danced that way

In the previews for next episode they have the same girl crying again saying "this is like the Hunger Games"  I feel for her, but think this does not bode well for her.  Kelli doesn't have much patience for cryers.

I had a little feeling of daphne's injured, oh she's out of training camp, moving on in this episode.  And sort of felt like she was deserving of a little montage or something if they are going to name the episode after her.  So I was glad to see they spoke more thoughtfully about her in the youtube posting

I feel like it was still super underwhelming in the post show, too. I agree with you. daphne deserved more time, and at least a little montage. Also, I wonder what her other knee injury is… just seemed like a passing thought.

Daphne should never have been in camp; I wonder if her doc encouraged her not to attend? Those types of injuries are notorious for healing. Now she's injured her other leg (knee?). She has compromised her dance future. Or perhaps she never really had one after that first injury.

Yes, I feel they should have some sort of accomodation for injured vets that they know are capable of all the routines, etc.  I wish they said she had a spot, and to sit out or come back at certain recovery point.  It's unfortunate that they have the "everyone is replaceable"  mentality.

Kelee's story about encountering racism was heartbreaking.  I kept wondering if she was in a small town that is just small minded, and was so happy to hear once she went to college she was surrounded by more viewpoints, peers, diversity and found a home.  Her family also seems very sweet and of comfort to her.  I hope she does well.  I personally do NOT enjoy these long story segments but I appreciated hers.

I thought they did - even if that means taking the team up to 37-ish... esp. if they got hurt while doing an DCC event, practice, function, etc.

1.  I love how Kelli seems to be more "coach like" during her talks with the girls.  

2.  I love how Judy is being more talkative too.

3.  I love that Kelli has yet to say "tonight will be your last night."

Maybe she's always been like this and the editing is better.

I think they did accommodate her though...she clearly wasn't up to her usual standard in episode one.  But she was on the road to recovery and targeted to be fine for the start of the season.  Tearing the other one too?  She wasn't going to be able to recover for any of the football season, I don't think.  IIRC, Cassie was about where Daphne was episode one...mostly healed but still not 100%.  Danielle was a quick recovery.  Brooke I can't remember the backstory - was she out that whole year?  I feel like they used to bend a little more in those early days.

I would have liked to see Daphne transition into an All-Star role, though...she would have been great on appearances.  I believe they have some where they don't necessarily perform.

I know, rite? The only blonde with her knee in a brace as well.  Really Kelli, u cant b bothered to know ur vets on sight? Plus my thoughts on the injury, let her sit out a couple weeks of camp and then come in at the end to practice formations and routines. Its not like she was a vet on the bubble, she’s proven herself.

Was KayDiana the one who looked like she was fainting, but was acting out her 'story'?   If so, I was totally confused, and I thought she was collapsing too. 

When you confuse K & J that much, and the viewers, then you made a huge mistake.    Having that happen right after Daphne leaving was scary.

Yes. She’s giving Kat a run for her money in the “attention seeking” category. Not a fan. She’s gorgeous, but I’m already annoyed by her every time she’s on my screen. 🤷‍♀️

I so agree about Daphne! She obviously can do the routines , just doesn’t seem fair. Evan was awesome !

 KayDianna , I mean I get it ,but real talk … she must be doing something right because she’s always on the screen. Yes she has a story , just like all of them, that’s their truth. I wish that we wouldn’t shame girls for speaking their truth, that’s what’s wrong with half of their self esteem.  She’s a great dancer and entertaining. I’m in the entertainment field and if you look at past episodes of some of the great leaders on the team, that’s kind of how they started, not to mention I don’t believe they get to choose when they are on camera . I think she will do great, definitely one to watch. Annoying or not , Seems like DCC material to me 🤷🏽‍♀️

Waiting for makeovers.. Kelee's " hair" is too much for her face  - I want to see her eyes more, esp. in her TH..

Evan said to use it  in her dance... I say take off 1/4 of a pkg ...her flashback pictures where her hair is pullback or out of her face... wow - she is a cutie !

Anyone know how does Ole' Miss dance team ranks in the collegiate dance world ? Trying to guess where Kelli was going with her question to Kylie, People do move, other family reasons (ie legacy), or get scholarships for  a university across the county - I guess the earlier military family backstory was still in my head.

Based on her story - I thought she was going to say she broke her elbow a little more recent than starting high school.

I wonder if they now going to incorporate the kick-whisper's Melissa techniques into the regular stretching part of the rehearsals. The newbie TCC acknowledged it was a good stretch of the muscles, I don't recall the vets saying anything

Job Responsibilities Update Announcement: Whomever is the chosen person each night  , who escorts or walks the TCC to Kelli & Judy to the mobile-patio office , you need to also have or make sure there is a box of tissue at the ready.

Agree!  I always love their kiddie pics....so cute!  Kelee is adorable but that hair......yeah, I can't wait either!

I’m dying to know who is in trouble for their social media posts in next episode. The editing made it look like Ava, but I have a feeling we’re being misled. 
 
Speaking of Ava, there is something about her attitude that really rubs me the wrong way. She almost seems smug. I don’t like her dancing, either.

Jada looked awesome this episode! I really liked her in the Evan Miller choreo.

Lisa looked even more square than usual during the brief clip that was shown.

When they were positively commenting on her in an earlier episode I thought I just didnt see what others saw.  She reminded me of VK being too wild and uncontrolled in movements.  But that's me, there are plenty of others to like.  If a guest judge says she's good I trust it.

Lord, they NEVER have tissues. I think it's terrible and so predictable that some girls will cry and need them.  Maybe this is their method to get the girl out faster, because she wants to blow her nose and blot her eyes and has to find the nearest exit to do so!

I wouldn't put too much weight into the vets not saying anything.  The show mostly focuses on struggling candidates, and may not have interviewed vets.  Someone said on a post somewhere that Melissa Reid Paige did a virtual clinic for vets in the summer that covered this, if true this would not have been new info to them.  I hope they do incorporate these stretches into their daily routine, but if not certainly the dancers now have several new ideas for additional stretching techniques.

Was this just a talking point or some sort of "flaw" Kelli perceived?  Kelli is so random, who knows.  I don't want to dwell on it too much because she is in Kelli's office so early on she is likely gone before the end of the series, LOL.  It's always a good sign if they don't feature you too much!

Pretty much my thoughts. I didn’t see what was so great about her dancing in the previous episodes, but I trust the judgement of the guest judges. So, I’m clearly missing something that is coming across in person.

I don’t begrudge anyone the right to tell their story, but it definitely feels like the girls think they have to cry to be featured. I would like to see segments where the girls just say where they’re from, their dance background, and how they came to try out for DCC….

As for the Ole Miss comment, I thought Kelli may have just been curious. I interview candidates sometimes and when they are from up across the country, I always ask what brought them to the city, etc. Its not a criteria for the job. I’m just curious, and it usually gives the candidate an opportunity to tell me about himself/herself in a less awkward way than the typical “tell me about yourself” question.

Thought the same! Not really fair for the ones that have been there already and trying to recover. Have they had alternates in the past for ladies that get injured?

I live in MS.  Ole Miss has quite the reputation of being a "fun" and preppy place for college, especially if you are from MS.  The athletic department has all the money they need and then some.  I believe the cheer division is highly rated.  And probably is also well funded.

Finally watched ep3 as it's only just been uploaded to the site I use in the UK.

Opinions on TCC:

Kelee - Cute as a button with her looks and dance, definitely relate to her with her reserved personality. I'm not a big fan of sob stories (I really don't care if your pet fish died, sorry) but hers felt relevant and real. Good for her to have the courage to keep going and those who made comments about her, I bet they're jealous now! I do hope they sort her hair out though, it looks a bit too heavy for her face. 

Christina - Good but not great dancer, hopeless at hip hop. Major Savannah vibes with the military background and average dance skills. However, the team mostly do that throughout the season so blender dancers but great ambassadors are a huge asset.

Kylie - She seems like such fun! I liked how she was herself a little more during her talk with K&J.

Kya - Gorgeous girl but just wasn't get this style at all. She had glimpses next to Caroline but looked like she was doing completely the wrong moves. I'd love to know more about her dance experience!

Madeline S - She looked fierce in the tidbits we saw. I always thought she was cute but never quite had the style. She did what the best comeback girls do (Brennan/Erin/Lily) and gone away, worked on her technique and power and come back so much stronger!

Ava - Bit of a chaotic dancer but her face is completely flat the entire time. She barely even smiles!

There's almost too many rookies because I don't even remember seeing Amber L, Megan, Jensen or Rebecca in this episode. 

Veterans:

Lexie's and Taylor's kicks looked low in the smaller kicklines. Taylor might not be used to being at the end though?

Lisa and Kristin looked soft around the mid-section.

Madeline M was a hot mess in Evan's choreo. How she hasn't been cut is beyond me. She was one of the weakest vets in the bubble last year and should've gone then. 

Jada looked strong, I'm excited to see her grow (not literally) as a dancer.

Kat had some really strong moments on camera, still not a huge fan of hers though.

I noticed lots of the vets made errors in his choreo, they just don't zoom in on it!

I agree , Far better dancers were let go last season but she always gets a pass . I don’t get it . She also seems like an airhead honestly
