I had to laugh when Josh told Shannon she was exactly his type and she looked like all his previous girlfriends. She seemed to take it as a compliment, rather than thinking, "And how did they work out for him?"

I had to google Will's job, "budtender." So basically he's a store clerk. Although when they showed a glimpse of his Instagram, it seemed to have a section for modeling photos, no surprise.

Wow,  I forgot how desperately I missed [the voice-over guy on] this show.

Baseball guy is gross and creepy. You tell a woman she's like every one of your exes... like that's a compliment??

Bleached hair coffee guy is just unfortunate looking. He would have fit right in with the B-squad Casa Amor gents from last season.

Both of the new guys can get it! Jeremy is good looking as well (but possibly boring), and I think the outgoing guy in the bucket hat seems like a lot of fun.

The women are overall a whole notch above the guys in the looks department. I'm surprised (and yet not, given traditional standards of beauty) that the blonde was voted hottest by the guys. I totally assumed it would be the covid relief girl or the psych nurse. Excuse me, WOMAN.

(Apologies for not knowing names yet. Following the premiere of BB, oh my - just too many names for my brain to handle!)

This show is the most delicious of guilty pleasures - limbic system gone wild.

I’m so excited for this show to be back! The women are all super hot! The guys—yikes! (Except for Javonny was handsome, and Jeremy was not my cup of tea, but I imagine people would find him handsome.) That is until Will and Cinco walked in! Holy moly! They definitely put in their most homely men in round one and the two hottest guys they cast to show up later that night! Especially since most of these women didn’t “step forward” for their guys—though they’ve wasted no time locking each other down and making out. I expect these women will be tripping over themselves to win over the new guys.  So, Josh and Shannan are going to be that couple this season, right? You know, the two who lock each other down and “fall in love” in 2 days and then end up being super toxic together. I see it coming!

LakeGuy was watching with me.  The minute they introduced Shannon he said she was going to be trouble.  I kept referring to the one guy as skunk head.  He really is not that attractive at all.  They certainly saved the best till last.

I'm so glad this show is back!

That coupling up ceremony was super uncomfortable. It was a series of, "okay, I guess I'll settle for you" pairings. I don't think any of those couples will last to the end.

Overall, this is a less attractive group than earlier seasons. The women are pretty, but the men are ... yikes. Jeremy was the only guy in the original group who I would find attractive, but then, oh HELLO Cinco. So mean to keep him until the end. I was looking at the photos last week and Christian reminded me so much of someone but I couldn't figure out who until last night when I saw that blond hair flopping around and I realized who he reminds me of is one of these little dudes:

I initially judged Christian pretty hard, but he actually softened me talking to Cash about liking her shaved head. Then he had to ruin it by making out with Olivia out of nowhere right in front of her. So I hope she goes for Cinco, lol. 

I also found the long-haired guy to be sincere, but he’s so boring. I’m confused why he doesn’t seem interested in Trina because he picked her. 

Shannon and the baseball player… She’s already looking elsewhere. It’s funny how she was physically attracted to him, but immediately turned off by the fact that he’s interested in her. It seems like she’s one of those people that gets off on pursuing emotionally unavailable partners. He might be the first to go home because whenever they interact she acts like she’s babysitting and would rather be anywhere else.

Kyra (?) is giving me Cely vibes. I think she’s either going to be super clingy or go totally wild because she said she hasn’t been in a relationship in five years, meaning her last relationship was when she was 18.

That’s one of the things the show is known for! If I recall correctly, for the first few episodes of the first US season, they were just saying “I got a text“ in a regular monotone voice and I guess people complained or the producers clued them in because suddenly they were yelling every time, haha.

I thought last year’s quarantine season was the dregs but this season is the absolute nadir. It’s like the show went out of its way to cast unattractive people. I always assume reality shows avoid casting models/actors (I mean, LA alone is full of beautiful people looking to be famous) is because they think it will be off-putting to the audience. But I’m not sure what they were thinking with this cast as these aren’t exactly “average Americans” either. I miss the old Uk seasons when they casted actually human beings. 
 

Did Olivia actually say she’s looking for someone to take the constant attention off of her? That she’s tired of always being the center of attention entertaining everyone? She has less personality than anyone else. 
 

I guess most of them seem nice for right now. I don’t see any chemistry with any of them (much like last season). Josh is horny for Shannon, but that’s not much to build on. Christian and Cash pretty much friend-zoned each other in their first conversation. Jeremy doesn’t really seem to be into anyone, he just seems like a nice person who smiles a lot. Can’t remember the names of the last couple (the petite woman and the heavily tatted/earring guy), but she seems like she’s this season’s Moira. She’s just going to jump from one guy to the next like a puppy that’s overwhelmed by a room full of toys.

I really like Kyra!  But I'm early on in the episode.

Will's really hot sometimes.... and other times..... I don't know......  But so far I really like his attitude.  It was so funny when he said something like, I'm Colombian, of course I like tea.  I would be confused too!

The best part of this episode is the hilarious announcer continually roasting Christian for being a total nonentity: (paraphrasing) “Like my middle school ski trips, just me and my cocoa.” And “Christian is like socks on Christmas—not present.”

I don’t understand why these guys who are at risk of “losing their women” aren’t trying to talk to anyone else! Have they never seen this show before?!? It’s literally day 2, and they’re all acting like they’re locked down with their partners—despite everyone taking every chance they can get to make out with anyone but their partners. (Oh, I see, I this wasn’t a full recoupling, and these guys are relegated to being single but still there.) Huge round of applause from me and my daughter when Cinco chose Cash. I was surprised that he didn’t go for Trina, though.

I’m not feeling any of these guys. I feel like LI could’ve done better in the casting.

Okay I have some thoughts.........

Will's face.  I figured it out.  Top half is wonderful.  Bottom half is the issue.  His teeth look fake, and his lips are too feminine for me.

Josh looks like JOEY MCINTYRE.

I like Kyra!  Although, her (fake?) lips are a bit much for me.

Javonny's attitude continues to be amazing.  I would definitely be trying to be BFFs with that guy.  He's always smiling!

Cinco's and Will's friendship is sooooo cute, it almost made me emotional.

After Cinco and Will pick their women, do the women not have any choice in the matter?  (I probably ask this every season.) They don't, right?  Thanks.

Damn, I didn't see this was on to catch it RT, but it was kind of cool to have two episodes to watch together.

That was one messy initial coupling ceremony, but at least the worst-matched got 'upgrades' with the new guys (not BOYS!!!).

As many of you mentioned I too am still working through my Cely PTSD... when they showed them waking up I was cringing and getting ready to cover my ears.

Poor miscast Christian has an unfortunate last name 'Longnecker'. Not as unfortunate as his hair style however. I mean really, is he like the son of one of the cameramen or something??

Korey has definitely gone over the line in total tattoo coverage... they are also all mashed together and on top of each other. They also aren't done well it would seem. I've never understood why you'd want that many tattoos... Josh is getting close as well. 24 and 28 to have that much ink? Yikes.

Speaking of ages I love that people are like "she OLD!" as if they slipped a senior citizen into the house with Olivia who is all of 28 herself. She's definitely larger in stature than the other girls (and some of the guys... looking at you Longnecker!) and seems a lot older than these other crazy girls.

I was happy that Cashay ditched the wig (which she had named??) and was chosen partly for it by Melvin.

Oh and this locale sure as hell beats frying like an egg on a Vegas rooftop.

ETA: Those are the worst looking 'necklace microphones' I've seen a show use. They look like giant bugs around people's necks.

While you’re at it, send me a Well instead of a Will just to play it safe.

The others are so far gone on the ugly scale that there’s no adjusting them. Hoping for more equitable casting in the looks department moving forward.

Korey seems like the sweetest guy. He was so understanding in his conversations with Kyra and Will about how he was about to be aced out. And then his face when it did happen was so sad. I hope he sticks around for a while and finds someone else to couple with.

I'm glad Cinco chose Cash. Their conversations just seemed so much more natural and easy than his with Trina.

I don't like her either. Her secrets being she watches videos of herself having sex and got paid thousands of dollars by a pedophile so he could "talk" to her are not really material for what should be a lighthearted game. She just seems more impressed with herself than she should be. But I don't like Josh either (although his attempt at making Shannon suspicious of Will has hilariously inept especially because she had a "blah blah blah" look on her face while he was talking), so I'm fine with them staying together.

She reminds me (and this is light shade, because I do think she's attractive) of Rose from RuPaul's Drag Race. Between the makeup, fillers, and something about how she stands I get a kind of drag vibe. The way a lot of lip fillers present is with this funny curved bit by the corner of the mouth. Spotting this has become my favorite hide and seek reality show game. 

This house is awesome. The waterfall next to it? So cool. I do worry someone is going to break their neck on the waterslide, it doesn't seem right.

Olivia still doesn’t know Jovanny’s name! She keeps calling him Giovanny—even though others corrected her last night. This doesn’t bode well if she can’t even remember her partner’s name. But I was shocked that she was saying she was attracted to Christian! Huh? Why? And ew!

Speaking of a shocking turn of events…. Now Trina is all in on Jeremy and was “afraid” Cinco was going to choose her?! Talk about revisionist history! But she immediately asks Jeremy if he would go to the Hideaway (boom boom room) with her and practically tried to get it on—but Jeremy doesn’t want to rush the physical. Interesting. Aaaand, she’s already asking about a long-distance relationship. Girl, it’s day 3–and you took a day and a half of those 3 days actively pursuing someone else! 

This “Summer Nights” remix is hilarious! “Jeremy said he’s willing to go long distance!” “I told her I’m not looking for anything serious.” And back and forth.

Why are there so many people in the villa who can walk on their hands?! Surely this isn’t that common of a talent, is it? Informal poll: Give a lightbulb if you can walk on your hands. 

My stomach dropped hearing that sister bonding between Trina and Cashay—immediately after hearing Cinco say he might pursue Trina again. I hope their friendship can survive, but I’m afraid Trina will suddenly be ready to run off with Cinco, since her “feelings” seem to change on a dime and she’s all in. Granted, neither of them “has dibs” on Cinco, but I imagine Trina could get a little backstabby to get her man.

Please steal Josh away from Shannon Aimee. I’m not buying Shannon’s “poor me” attitude about the hot tub date. Shannon seems like one of those girls who’s used to getting whatever she wants with her looks. 

I really wanted to hear Trina’s account of her date with Jeremy but, I was too distracted by her GIANT sunglasses.

Trina’s trying too hard with Jeremy. He wants to go slow and she should respect that. It’s been two days jeez.

Ok.  Olivia dismissing Jovanny because he seems like a player but going after CHRISTIAN???????  Isn't Christian the one who's been with 99 women?  When Jeremy told Christian that he didn't want to sleep with Trina, I was rolling my eyes at Christian pretending to understand this.

The host is on one tonight, I love him!  I forgot the jokes he told but they were amazing. LOL. 

Trina said that they "literally" went rollerskating.  As opposed to the other way of rollerskating!
