This is really awkward with those allegations against Horatio Sanz.  Not really interested in seeing him on TV.

We're getting two more weeks of Sanz as the Vintage is Jennifer Aniston/Black Eyed Peas from season 29. The week  after that is Christopher Walken/Foo Fighters from season 28.

The February 25th episode is Dakota Johnson/Alabama Shakes, from season 40. I think this may be the first time NBC is ever repeating that episode.

Just realized it's Jennifer Aniston's birthday 🙂

Oof that was bad.  The student ‘play’ was ok but the rest??

Well, I’m always up for a Jeopardy bit, Black or otherwise. But yeah, that student play was something that I didn’t realize was so memorable until I saw it again. “I’m her mother! I’m not dead!”

Haha “but they’re all white.  Kinda sounds like they’re bragging.”

Wow, I saw this every week but the Salma Hayek  episode was pretty awful!  Jerking off King Kong?  Oof.

Some of the material they cut would have been better, although not by much in a few cases.

Are Melanie Griffith, Dakota Johnson, and Antonio Banderas the most family members to have all separately hosted SNL?

I don't know; but did the Jonas Bros. ever host as a group?

No.  Just Nick Jonas a couple of years ago.  I could be wrong, but I don't remember his brothers even having cameos on that episode.

Looks like they may be tied with Kirk Douglas, Michael Douglas, and Catherine Zeta Jones as well as Martin Sheen, Charlie Sheen, and Emilio Estevez. Not sure if there are any others.

Kevin did cameo during his monologue!

Poor Kevin. If it was Joe, I'd probably remember it. Lol

For the Chris Pine episode, I remember being surprised at the time how much of the whole show revolved around him singing.

Tonight's Vintage is Seth Rogen/Spoon, from season 33.

Ahh,  2007.  Weekend Update just makes me want to say, bless your hearts. You have no idea.

I was afraid they were going to take a homophonic turn with the item about the congressman (?) soliciting gay sex in an airport bathroom, but they actually pleasantly surprised me.

I was just watching some online coverage about the storm and the earthquake down in southern California, and the reporter talking about the earthquake started out with "We were driving on the 118 and the 101 ..." and it was like "The Californians" come to life!

Last night I was cruising around YouTube when I came upon this video of Betty Davis appearing on Carson in 1988.

The whole time I’m watching this all I could think of was Jan Hooks’ Betty Davis Video Will sketch.

Not sure if this is the proper thread, but the moderator is free to move it if it's not: But did we know that Matt Foley: Motivational Speaker was created by former SNL writer and current great actor, Bob Odenkirk?!

Color me shocked.

In the link above, he talks about how being hired for SNL at only 25 was "existentially dangerous" for him. He was on staff from 1987 to 1991.

I know Twitter is unworkable now if you aren't on it (and even if you are on it) but I don't think this clip is available anywhere else. Dana Carvey recently tweeted a never before seen sketch he, Phil Hartman, and Jon Lovitz made, written by Robert Smigel.

The next three Vintage episodes are the three December episodes from last season (Keke Palmer/Steve Martin and Martin Short/Austin Butler).

I miss when the Vintage episodes were actually vintage, and often had something to do with somebody or something that was in the recent news.

Was Martha Stewart's Home for the Holidays Topless Christmas Special included? That's always been one of my favorites! I saw most of the special, but didn't see it.

The bit with John Malkovich reading to the little kids makes me LOL every time, even after all these years! His dark turn on 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' is hilarious on its own, but the kids put it over the top. They never break once, they just stare sullenly at him the whole time. Even when he looks at them and addresses them directly, they don't break. They never even smile. Great job by the kids!

I didn't see Twin Bed, either, another holiday favorite. Though I can't disagree with what was included. There have just been so many hilarious holiday sketches, at this point, that more than two hours is really needed to get to them all.

This week's 'vintage' episode is...last week's new episode! So, seven days old now qualifies as 'vintage'?

Apparently, they did this last week too. I guess they want to make as little effort as possible. I saw someone point out that what they are doing now is the exact reason SNL was created all those years ago (as that slot was originally just Johnny Carson repeats).

The only interesting part is wondering what they will cut.

Saturday Night Network interviews the one and only Christine Ebersole (81-82), who has one of the more interesting journeys as an SNL cast member (and certainly afterward).

April 20th will be RuPaul/Justin Bieber (season 45)

April 27th will be Kim Kardashian/Halsey (season 47)

The Youtube channel actually uploaded two genuinely vintage sketches. Not sure if that tells us anything about a possible Tom Hanks appearance before the season finishes.

Wait, so tonight’s “vintage” episode is from literally last week?? Really seems like they’re squandering an opportunity to bring back some old stuff. Best of Norm McDonald’s Weekend Update OJ slams?  Anything besides the (edited down version of the) episode that’s already on my dvr?

Good vintage rerun last week, and for once, it actually was somewhat vintage, being from Feb. of 2020. Ru Paul was a great host, they should have him back. The skit with him reading to the kids at the library had me LOLing! Who could have guessed the hidden meanings in those books!

It's always interesting to see anything from early '20, with the world about to change drastically, and none of us the wiser...

For those unaware, the TBD network has recently started airing SNL reruns. The show is on for a few hours in both the afternoon and evening. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to the episodes they pick, but they're even showing eps from the Dick Ebersol years, which I haven't seen in ages. Am really enjoying it!
