Robert Lynch September 26, 2020 Share September 26, 2020 That whole Jim Belushi interview was so pointless. I was rolling my eyes at it the whole time. Bakari Sellers and Coleman Hughes looked really upset at the end. 1 Link to comment
cali1981 September 26, 2020 Share September 26, 2020 I am so tired of Bill's "he won't leave". Yes he will because at 12:01 pm on January 20th if Joe Biden is inauguratedTrump no longer has any power and the Secret Service and US Marshals will be ordered to escort Trump our of the White House. If the cockamamy plan to replace Biden electors with Trump electors actually happens, the House of Representatives has the final say on which electors are certified. Nancy Pelosi would dismiss the phony Trump electors in states that Biden won and his electors would be certified. End of story. 1 13 Link to comment

Pete Martell September 26, 2020 Share September 26, 2020 I actually agree with Bill about the chances of Trump leaving, but the problem is (in my opinion) Bill long ago lost any credibility, so he just ends up undercutting his points. Decades of sneering "everybody sucks" and low blows mean when it's time to try to get a real point out, you don't have much of a shot of persuading people. 2 Link to comment

arachne September 26, 2020 Share September 26, 2020 That "told you so" montage was no surprise. I knew Bill would be gloating this week after the president refused to say whether he would leave office peacefully. I hope Bill keeps his word to STFU for awhile. 10 hours ago, Robert Lynch said: That whole Jim Belushi interview was so pointless. I was rolling my eyes at it the whole time. Actually, I found Belushi's take on cannabis refreshing. He's a better spokesperson for legal pot than Bill would ever be. 5 Link to comment
DXD526 September 26, 2020 Share September 26, 2020 I liked the Belushi interview. There's so much doom and gloom these days, taking a break to listen to a couple of old potheads talk about weed for a few minutes is fine with me. Although I didn't quite get the point he was trying to make about his brother. Well, yeah, John might still be alive if he'd just smoked pot and not done mountains of blow, I think that's pretty obvious. Jim seemed to be insinuating that John succumbed to the cocaine culture of the 70s and 80s and was powerless in the process, which isn't true. Plenty of people got through those years without doing coke, including people in show business, so if John just wanted to smoke a lot of weed, he could have done that. That was totally under his control. Almost 40 years later, and there are still people trying to pin the blame for his death anywhere but where it belongs. 7 Link to comment
iMonrey September 26, 2020 Share September 26, 2020 I'm of two minds about this. On the one hand I agree with Bernie Sanders we have to win first before we start worrying about what will happen if Trump refuses to accept the results. On the other hand I feel Bill's frustration. Everyone has been hand-waving this issue for four years now and it really doesn't seem like there's a plan in place, even after Trump himself has confirmed it. That said, the video montage of Bill saying Trump won't leave was downright maturbatory. I was embarrassed for him. 3 Link to comment

Whereas Jim emphasized the therapeutic benefits of even small amounts used in different ways. I was touched by his story about the man who found relief from his mental and physical pain from one of Jim's specific strains. 4 Link to comment
Caseysgirl September 27, 2020 Share September 27, 2020 I’m going to stick my neck out and suggest that Bill Maher actually may have given Trump the idea about not stepping down. Trump gets most of his ideas from television and he’s now quoted Bill on this a number of times. So, thanks for that,Bill! 7 7 Link to comment
sugarbaker design September 28, 2020 Share September 28, 2020 I must be getting used to pandemic TV, because I couldn't help but be distracted by the clapping during the conversation/debate between Sellers and Coleman. This could've been an interesting conversation but the intermittent applause (it seemed to happen after every sentence) brought everything to a screeching halt. And because I'm very shallow I will watch any show with Bakari Sellers, even if he's sitting on a couch saying nothing at all. 4 Link to comment

And it seemed to be from one group, or area - you could see Bill glance over a few times. 1 Link to comment

I recall a SNL skit about the possibility that Reagan wouldn't leave, but staff picked up Ronald and Nancy and carried them out of the Oval Office horizontally. That is probably where Bill got the idea from. Link to comment

They need to turn off the microphones in the audience that were amplifying the clapping so that interfered with the conversation. Pre- Covid with a full audience the clappers were never louder than the people speaking. I also wished Bill and Bakari had not cut off Coleman mid-sentence before he finished most of his points. I thought Bill hated cancel culture. Link to comment
Caseysgirl September 29, 2020 Share September 29, 2020 I was disappointed that Bill didn’t allow Coleman to finish his points. I thought he was kind of a breath of fresh air. 1 Link to comment
b2H September 29, 2020 Share September 29, 2020 For all the negative comments here (and I didn't watch the show, so I have no dog in the hunt), Bill's New Rules this week has made the rounds on SM. I watched it (just about the only thing I will watch on the show any more if I spend the time to record it) and found it to be as always the best part of Bill Maher. It's a shame he's let the show go to hell. 3 Link to comment
link417 October 11, 2020 Share October 11, 2020 This is the first episode of Real Time I’ve watched in a while — I just got tired of Bill’s grumpy-old-man-decrying-modern-liberals schtick. However, I was bored and still have several hours until LWT, so figured I’d give it another shot. *Sigh* I should’ve stayed away. It was so annoying to watch Bill stroke Coleman’s ego because he’s sooo ~eDgY~, just like Bill. 🙄 Bakari Sellers was okay, but it sucked watching him have to argue his points against both Bill and Coleman; I feel there are other people that could have held their own a bit better. The montage was pointless and dumb. Link to comment
