The end result is that the majority of the "contestants" are dysfunctional and damaged. They are supposed to be an extra support, even if they're not great at it. It must be a very lonely thing to go through and NO ONE they know can relate. It probably helps more than it hurts, it's better than the alternative. The faults/areas of insecurity in their marriage will help them realize it's in trouble/over much sooner. I just think it's an unnecessary revelation about Mindy, like she's the anti-Iris. Like, "I'm not only NOT a virgin, people; I had a failed relationship AND a miscarriage!" What are we as viewers supposed to do with that info, really? What brought them to the experiment. What they want out of it & why, what contributed to it. I think we will see how those things affect her & link her behavior to it. We need to know their issues. They definitely won't say, "I'm acting this way cuz I'm grieving!" That's a definite plus! 😂 Expand At first I hated it because it just made the show seem more scripted and "reality tv", but at this point its such garbage, I don't care. It's obvious they are not trying to make successful matches; they are looking for drama. With this in mind, I now like the same gender meet ups. I do think it gives them a chance to vent more organically than a talking head to a camera, and it's obvious from following people from past seasons that they do actually bond. I mean, imagine watching Meka and Michael if they were alone at the resort. There is nothing there to see. At all! It seems to work better with the women because they are more open to sharing and being a support system to the other girls.
