After watching 4+ seasons of this, I think that the psych tests are flawed.  The end result is that the majority of the "contestants" are  dysfunctional and damaged.  That was to be expected in season one when only several hundred people applied but at 70,000 or so now, it's less that the blame can be solely placed on the gene pool.

Too many Reality TV participants don't know the meaning of discretion.

That's the point/test though. I'd think they want people with loose lips/vulnerability. They wouldn't get the goods from reserved people. It'd be super boring! It's brave, & kinda stupid, to reveal such personal information, but our judgement/discomfort is our problem. It shouldn't be hers, it's her truth, she owes us nothing. Most seem to forget the cameras anyway. 😂

Although the couples mingling is a double-edged sword, I support it. At least the same genders meeting up. They are supposed to be an extra support, even if they're not great at it. It must be a very lonely thing to go through and NO ONE they know can relate. It probably helps more than it hurts, it's better than the alternative. The faults/areas of insecurity in their marriage will help them realize it's in trouble/over much sooner. That's a definite plus! 😂

True enough! I just think it's an unnecessary revelation about Mindy, like she's the anti-Iris. Like, "I'm not only NOT a virgin, people; I had a failed relationship AND a miscarriage!" What are we as viewers supposed to do with that info, really? If we think, "It doesn't matter," then that proves no need to know.

I think Meka's immaturity contributed heavily to her reaction along with a heavy dose of WTF that was just making her crazy and she blew. I think it was @Neurochick that wondered in one of her posts how is Michael supposed to know how to be married if he has never been around married people? To me, he seems very detached and believes that he calls the shots. That has to go once you are attached to another person. Perhaps he is incapable of doing that due to inexperience. Or maybe he's just an arrogant scumbag that expects to be catered to and have everything his way.

Yes, I wonder if Michael's not being around married people is an issue.  It never ceases to amaze me, that there are people who just don't know about things.  You don't know what you don't know.

It gives us insight into what made them who they are today. What's happened in their life. What brought them to the experiment. What they want out of it & why, what contributed to it. I think we will see how those things affect her & link her behavior to it. We need to know their issues. They definitely won't say, "I'm acting this way cuz I'm grieving!"

At first I hated it because it just made the show seem more scripted and "reality tv", but at this point its such garbage, I don't care. It's obvious they are not trying to make successful matches; they are looking for drama. With this in mind, I now like the same gender meet ups. I do think it gives them a chance to vent more organically than a talking head to a camera, and it's obvious from following people from past seasons that they do actually bond. I mean, imagine watching Meka and Michael if they were alone at the resort. There is nothing there to see. At all! It seems to work better with the women because they are more open to sharing and being a support system to the other girls. With the men, it just seems a contest to see who has the bigger dick, although without the group activities we wouldn't have the gems of AJ slapping Luke on the ass, or Matt spewing lies with everyone trying not to call him out on it, or Jephte awkwardly trying to keep the peace between Jon and Ryan......

BAHAHAHA! He REFUSES to know! Ignorance is a CHOICE! It's stupid to learn things the hard way, unnecessarily, but eh. There's something completely foreign, never exposed to & something they're exposed to and don't care to research. Hopefully they learn.

From the "Shallow Criticisms" Dept: From Moment One I have disliked the particular beard styling of Michael and his bros. I find the look a bit too....nether region.  😝

Ahhh the pube beard.  I agree.
