Not to mention (bolding mine), Tom had a girlfriend within a few weeks of Lu announcing she was divorcing Tom. (Though more than likely he had her while still married, since he didn't stop seeing women at any time during his relationship and marriage to Lu). Lu announced in early Aug/17, Tom was photographed happy as a clam with a new girlfriend the 1st of September. Heck, all of last season was devoted to all of the women talking about Tom's side pieces. I was actually surprised that Beth apologized because on a list of 1-100 of things that might be surprising, the fact that Tom had a girlfriend in December would not be in the top 1,000. I loved the scene when Lu was all in Beth's face saying she didn't care what she thought of her, and Beth asked if she cared that she had lipstick on her face. I loved them both laughing over that, and instantly the whole scene turned funny. Lu is so much more fun without TomCat.

To me, the most interesting thing said in the whole episode was when Luann turned to Sonja during the dinner at Dorinda's and said of Adam "He lived with my niece for 6 months on our couch". Wow. Now Luann sometimes plays fast and loose with the truth, but if Adam really did crash at Lu's for 6 months - WTH? Does ManBun just move from woman to woman depending on what they can offer him? Operator seems kind. Carole is exhausting. Beth seemed to realize that friendships ebb and flow, but Carole doesn't seem to grasp the concept. And twice in this episode Beth told Carole she loved her, to which Carole replied with silence. Ramona's party to celebrate Carole's marathon run wasn't good enough. I think Beth said something about sending Carole two care packages when she was training for it (though with everyone talking over everyone else I wasn't sure). Then Carole claims that she is perfectly happy, but was mad at Bethenny for not pulling her aside to make sure she was OK over her breakup. Carole is giving me whiplash. During the party at Dorinda's everyone was having fun including Bethenny. Even Tins didn't seem to be holding Carole's hand when she went upstairs. Everyone but Carole was downstairs having fun. I liked that Beth led the group in a joint thank you to Dorinda for making it nice. Regarding Carole being unable to donate due to being under 110 lbs - she seemed positively giddy about that. I have a niece who has never weighed more than 100 lbs (and can eat whatever she wants to boot). She hates it when people call attention to her weight. Carole has obviously weighed more than that before (certainly when she was married to Anthony she was heavier) so she appears to be proud of the sunken face, boney look. Finally I had to laugh at Luann saying she was a loser for not being able to donate blood. Not for making a fool of herself for the last two years over Tom, mind you. Though I don't know why she was upset that he had moved on so quickly after the divorce when he never stopped seeing other women during the marriage. SMH.

I loved this episode up until Dorinda brought up the Carole/Bethenny thing. Because TPTB can't let an episode end without confrontation. Yawn. Loved Dorinda's decorations, especially the old TV with the Christmas decor inside. So cute. Lu was the star of the episode for me. Loved her decorating the fish, etc. in her room. And especially loved her saying in her French accent that she cannot drink tequila as she falls in the bushes, complete with flashback of her falling in the bushes. The costumes were great, and I loved Bethenny's headpiece. Only negative for me was Sonja saying that she gave away her cat and dog. As someone who has adopted several wonderful kitties from the SPCA, I have always wondered how the previous owners could give up such wonderful kitties. Followed by thanks that they did, as these amazing cats did not deserve to have such unloving/uncaring owners. Like others, I have my doubts that the dog and cat actually went to other people, but I hope they did and are being cherished as part of the family as they deserve to be. Sonja OTOH deserves to be alone.

Oh believe me, hubby and I have said the same thing - kiddingly. Someone once asked us how long we had been together and we answered at exactly the same time "Too long!". I think many couples have the same sense of humour, which is one of the things that draws them together. And certainly our friends know that we have the same sense of humour, and know that we are crazy about each other. I just didn't get the warm fuzzies from LVP and Ken's exchange.

Hubby and I just finished watching this series - watched it over two days. We almost gave up half way through the series though as we thought it was dragging on, and moving way too slowly. My husband commented that he didn't think the title suited the show. He instead said it should have been called "How Do All the Stupid People End Up In One Place?". And he was referring to both the criminals and the police. This was a saying coined by one of his best friends who passed away recently. I also thought it was a better title that Evil Genius. Posters here have already commented on things I am wondering, including the other pizza worker's death. It never made sense to me that Brian would have been involved, as there would be no reason to have a real bomb if he was in on it - just tell everyone it is a real bomb. Also the scavenger hunt was ridiculous. Chances are Brian would have run out of time, the bomb would have gone off possibly ruining whatever money he did get. And why would Marjorie just not kill her father herself and cash in on what she thought was her inheritance? It doesn't sound like she knew that her father had written her out of his will. And what made these geniuses think that they could get $250,000 so easily? The poor guy died over a measly $8,000. I wonder why Jessica didn't get DNA from Brian's family members if she really cared to know if her kid's father was Brian? She really should be in jail for setting the poor guy up. All I could think of while watching this series was that it was like a Coen Brothers dark comedy like Fargo. The criminals were evil, but not a genius in the bunch as far as I can see.

Melissa was found guilty of first degree murder in Caleb's death. She wasn't convicted in Bridget's death not because she was found not guilty but because it was a hung jury. Chris was convicted for both murders. I think Bill was murdered. It seems like he was beaten and locked himself in the bathroom to get away from Chris, where he died. But there was not enough evidence to prove it. So sad that two more people died at the hands of these monsters. Certainly they should have been caught after Bridget's murder as it seemed pretty obvious that it was not a fall if only from the way she was lying on the stairs. So ironic that they killed them all (IMO) to end up with custody of Caleb's kids, and in the end all 6 kids have no parents. Mind you, with parents like that they are all better off not being raised by them.

I heard that Geraldo Rivera was at the opening of the vault. It was empty. I loved Teddi's phone call to her father. I really hope we get to see/hear more interaction (or any!) with her dad next season. The oddest exchange I thought was with LVP and Ken when LVP asked Ken if he would marry her again (not the exact words but the jist) and he said no. Then she said she would not marry him either. Maybe it was supposed to be dry British humour but Ken seemed very serious. How odd for a couple who have been together for years and seem to always get along and have each other's backs. As others have mentioned, there were several nice moments/scenes with the ladies where they were getting along just fine. It would be nice if TPTB included more of this the regular episodes. I also got a kick out of LVP and Kyle in each other's THs. I always thought those were filmed in each of the Howives homes, individually.

Exactly. Just because Lu, Ramona and Dorinda have adult children doesn't mean they are out of their lives. We have heard of Victoria's DUI arrest among other problems, seen Dorinda's daughter living with her and apparently unable to get on with her life until a year or so ago due to grief over her step father's death. In Ramona's case, after her divorce she seemed to lean on Avery and often Avery seemed like the adult/mother in the relationship. These days with cell phones and the ability to stay in touch 24/7, it seems like often parents and adult children are joined at the hip in an unhealthy way. Just a couple of days ago a friend of mine was lamenting that her 32 year old daughter never calls, only texts where she used to call several times a day. Rather than be proud that her daughter is self sufficient and happy, she upset that her daughter wasn't sharing every part of her life as she used to. Other friends are upset as their adult children are too dependent on them. In any case though, I think the old saying applies - you are only as happy as your unhappiest child. And it doesn't matter how old that child is.

I am a cat person too. I love all animals, but cats especially. I did enjoy seeing the kitties too (and was just teasing you as Carole doesn't pronounce the "t"s in kittens). I actually never noticed that we have not seen Carole's apartment so far this season. I wonder if she still has the ki-ins? I also liked that Carole supported animal charities. I am on the board of directors of a local animal charity, and the majority of my volunteer time and money (and my husband's time and money) goes to it. Hmmm, that could very well be. The fact that Adam did similar charity work previously likely made Bethenny think that it would be something he would be interested in. Pretty much all my money and volunteer time goes to animal charities (and one in particular) which all my friends know, so while I will support friends in their favourite charities, the bulk of my money and time goes to animal related ones.

My understanding of THs is that the producer or whomever asks a question and the housewife answers it. Which is what Bethenny did. But yes, one friend and I have discussed why a mutual friend has now become BFFs with another friend. In their case their isn't a lot in common that appears to have bonded them, but just a case of them clicking. Simple. I agree with all of your post, except that Carole played with her ki-ins. It is odd that Carole continues to claim to have some great career. Dorinda no longer does, nor does Ramona. Even Sonja has given up her "international lifestyle brand" and toaster ovens. Tinsley seems happy to not be employed. They all seem pretty content with where their lives are at this moment. Lu and Bethenny are the only ones currently working, and Lu's hustling is a result of her divorce. If she was still with TomCat I doubt she would be doing a cabaret show. So it is odd to me that Carole can't just enjoy being on the show, and seems to have to claim to have a life that in reality no longer exists. I googled it, and it appears to be an sporadic charitable foundation at best. It was formed in 1999 by Lee Radziwill and Carole. ( I don't think Carole mentioned her mother in law). I see it gave out 5 $10,000 grants to film makers in 2004, and appears to have been relaunched in 2012 but not sure what happened in between those years or since. A lovely tribute to a son/husband, though on a pretty small, exclusive scale.

We will have to agree to disagree. The friend and I who found out we have much in common met through playing a sport we both love. Our friendship developed from that, just as Carole's and Tinsley's developed after they met on the show. Not all that deep or complicated. I just read Carole's blog and was not impressed. I have been a Carole fan up to this year, but find her to be very petty and unhappy this season, which seems to stem from her lack of a relationship with Adam. And sorry Carole, you have not been a writer for the last few years. It makes me wonder if the show set up Carole with the Cosmo gig, so that she can continue to call herself a writer. I googled the article which was very short and revolved around her running the marathon. Frankly I could have written that article (as anyone here could have) other than I have never ran a marathon. It was very light and fluffy, which is Cosmo's style and why I stopped reading it many years ago. The most I got from Carole's blog is that she set up a charitable foundation years ago. That is the first I have heard of it. Does anyone know what it was for, and if it still exists? It is too bad that it seems to have fallen by the wayside as it might give her something to do, other than shilling donuts. Edited to add - I forgot the part of Carole's blog where she is furious that Bethenny called Adam behind her back. Geeze louise, insecure much, Carole? Why in the world would Bethenny clear it with Carole to call Adam about a charity request? Yikes.

Bethenny pointed out what Carole and Tinsley have in common, just as I pointed out what a friend that I bonded with quickly and I have in common. Carole has friends who have children, just as I have friends who have children. Most people have friends who do not have lives who exactly mirror theirs, or friends whose life circumstances change over time. It isn't that deep or complicated. But those who dislike Bethenny will make it out to be just that. Lol. And I am sure both Carole and Tinsley are enjoying the fact that they have a friend at their respective ages who are unencumbered by children. I certainly do, and it isn't something you necessarily understand unless you are one of those people. Doesn't mean I don't love my friends who have kids, or the kids themselves.

Exactly. They are both in somewhat tenuous relationships, don't have kids, and don't have jobs that require a lot of their time and attention. Those are three big things to have in common with someone. Also Carole is friends with Scott and how Tins met him, which is a big thing. Several months ago I met a lady who has the same interests as I do, is retired as I am, is married to a husband who is still working as mine is, and has no children like me. It also turns out our husbands know each other professionally. We bonded instantly. I have other friends who are married with kids, single with no kids, married or single and still working, etc. To meet someone who has somewhat the same interests and living situation is not all that common, especially if you don't have children as well. Add grandchildren in the mix of your friends with children, and for someone without, their constant talking about them is boring AF. Not having to listen to every single thing a grandchild does as if no other kid has ever done the same thing is a gift in itself. Lol. I might add as someone mentioned upthread, not having children is very attractive to many men. You would not believe how many people told my hubby how lucky he is that I don't have children, as they juggle blended families and exs of their significant others.

When Luann shared that she once sang on Broadway, and that after hearing her Liza Minnelli snapped her fingers and said "Girl!", I thought Liza's reaction was similar to when people exclaim "That's a baby!" to the parents of an ugly baby. I don't see why Carole should be up in arms about Bethenny saying that she doesn't have a career. As long as she has been on the show, she has treated writing like it is a hobby. I remember her ridiculous comment (shown again in this episode) to her editor that she didn't realize that her contract had deadlines. WTH? And apparently she is surprised that an article for a magazine also has a deadline. I don't think Carole is a stupid person, but she often plays one on TV.

So Betty's dad is the black hood (though his eye shape and colour looks nothing like the black hood's) and there is still a black hood running around who does look like the black hood? Ugh. Dumbest story line of any show I have watched this season - and that bar isn't incredibly high to start with. At this point I am only watching to see familiar landmarks. The church shown when the fires were raging is across from what was my grandmother's property/house IRL. That was the high light of the episode for me. Lol.

The Marcia Clark show was so well done. There doesn't seem to be a forum for her show, and I haven't watched any other episodes as yet but this one was very thorough. Just a few minutes into it when they were discussing Rebecca supposedly jumping off the balcony, my hubby said right away that the bed would have moved much farther, because of the amount of pull that would have been expended with a falling body. (He is a general contractor so deals with fall protection all the time.) He said that long before it was actually show on the episode. So many other flags as well, including the three legged table which I always questioned that Adam claimed to use. Many other things though not shown in the 20/20 show including the lack of DNA, including on the knife Adam claimed to use to cut Rebecca down, and on the rope itself. And another interesting thing - the dirt on the bottom of Rebecca's feet was consistent with the dirt in the garden area, not the sand found on the balcony. And the knots used by the police in their demonstration of how someone could tie their own hands behind their back were not the same knots used to tie Rebecca. What sealed it for me (though I have always thought he was guilty) was Adam's 911 call as Marcia's show played more of it that 20/20 did. He was totally setting up his alibi, saying that he just woke up. Also sounding like he didn't even know who Rebecca was - he never once mentioned that it was his brother's girlfriend. And at the first you could tell he was nervous as he said that the "girl" as he referred to Rebecca was in the guest house, when he was the one staying in the guest house. His 911 call sounded like the typical murderer that we have heard many times on these shows - setting up his alibi, rather than simply asking for help for the person he has found.

I don't think Ravi had anything to do with it either, other than he recovered the footage. I believe Ravi when he said he did not have time to look at the drive, just handed it over to Kyle. I also don't think Ravi would think this is avenging Ashley's honor - he knows Ashley well enough to know that despite her feud with Jack, she would know better than anyone how devastating the news would be to Jack and that she would not wish that on him. In addition, the news mostly makes Dina look bad, and Ravi is quite fond of Dina. It is definitely Victor IMO, and the only reason he had to show up at the screening. He knew Dina would want him to stay, and he wanted to watch Jack's reaction to the clip. He was not the least bit surprised that the clip was in the movie - because he made sure it was there.

I don't think Jack will not be an Abbott in the end. It is just a matter of how long TPTB will string Jack and the viewers along. With the first test, either Tracy isn't John's daughter, or one of both of the hairs tested were someone else's. I think Victor tampered (or of course paid someone to tamper) with the second test. Victor isn't going to go to all the trouble of inserting the footage into the movie, onto to have Jack only think for a day or two that he isn't an Abbott. He would make sure that Jack thinks he is not, one way or another. In fact he wouldn't have to tamper with the test, just tamper with the result that Jack received on paper. A piece of cake for Victor.

Did Carole attend some event that was auctioning off the late Hugh Hefner's clothes? Last week at a party she was wearing his burgundy red robe, this week she was wearing his black silk pajamas. Her ugly clothing choice was more shocking to me than her news about Adam. I posted last week that it appears that he may have been stringing Lu's niece along when he met Carole, exactly the way he appears to be stringing Carole along now. Keep one on the hook while you are fishing for new catch. He isn't the first and won't be the last to do that, but Carole seems totally unaware of the saying "How you get him is how you will lose him". I did find the tidbit that Bethenny relayed about Adam interesting - that she wanted him to come along to film the trip to PR, but he declined as he would not be paid. I loved Bethenny telling Dorinda that Richard would walk in the door before Sonja's ex husband would. Priceless. I also loved how she handled Dorinda, both the night Doris was drunk and the next day. There have been numerous times since Dorinda has been on the show that she has been a mean drunk. Good on Beth for telling her point blank that she is one. Does Dorinda never watch the show, or is she just happy to keep justifying her behavior to herself? Finally kudos to Bethenny for all she has done in Puerto Rico. Very impressive.

Back when Abby and Ashley used hair samples for Jack's paternity test, I questioned as Jack did today the accuracy of it. I have no idea how they would know for sure the hair samples were Jack's and Tracy's. Not to mention with Dina's track record, who knows if John is Tracy's father? The whole story line is stupid. I had a WTF reaction to Neil telling Hillary that he is encouraging Devon to be a good parent. Neil is acting like Hillary got pregnant by accident and Devon is an unwilling father-to-be. Devon wants to be a daddy so badly he is willing to have a baby with a woman that half the time he can't stand. And willing to make multiple attempts in more than one way. Is Neil hitting the bottle again? Because that statement made no sense at all.

And of course, the shark was looking for a fawn. Not the smartest shark in the ocean. Or even the school.

How nice of you to join me in the uncivilized world - lol. For all we know it could have been producer manipulation that kept Chris away for 20 minutes (OMG!!). Amy could have easily asked him when he stood up where he was going, but she didn't. She likely will next time, and/or he will tell her. Hubby and I wander away from each other all the time. It would drive me nuts if I thought I had to check in with him every minute that we were together, in case we were suddenly out of one another's eye site, unaccounted for. Lol. And if I ever thought he was out of my eye site because he was sending a text to a side piece, I would go to counselling for my lack of self esteem. I have a friend who was married for over 30 years. She and her hubby texted each other/called each other numerous times a day. (That would also drive me nuts). They always ended every call with "I love you". He did this right up until the day he told her he was leaving her, and he left her for a woman he had been having an affair with for the previous year. But he sure was nice and considerate of her up until the day he left. Letting her know where he was at all times, and all.

I forgot to mention the scene where Tinsley falls to the ground when she opens the door to Scott. If I were Scott, that would have had me running in the opposite direction. Then instead of giving Scott her undivided attention, she has to phone Carole right away, and her mother when she is in the car. She continues to act like she is in her early 20s, rather than a women who is approaching 43. And Scott is barely in the door, after being absent from her life (at least physically for 2 1/2 months) when she has him pinned down as saying that they are once again "boyfriend and girlfriend". Geez louise. I did like that Tinsley's mom wanted to make a stocking for Scott that would include the dog belonging to his ex girlfriend. What a hoot.

I was away for most of last week, so just watched 4 shows back to back. It took me all of half an hour. All I got out of it was that Paul couldn't understand why JT would have fled, rather than staying and claiming self defense with regards to Victor's fall down the stairs. Apparently he has already forgotten that JT turned off Victor's ventilator. Hard to argue self defense against a guy in a coma. Oh, and apparently Charlie is some magician who was able to take a few interviews between Dina and Abby (minus the info I would imagine about the multiple affairs, and of course the info that her three children all have different fathers) and make some kind of documentary worthy of a public screening? That must be some course that they teach at Walnut Grove.

I like Chris, and always have. I don't think it is a big hairy deal that he left the table, and like that Amy brought it up to him and that he apologized to her. We have no idea what was happening at the time - I am sure there were scenes filmed that were cut from the episode. Maybe Chris got tired of having cameras follow them. Maybe he and Amy were eating alone because his friends did not want to be on camera. I give him credit not only for pursuing a relationship with Amy, but for being on film during parts of it. Amy is used to be pick apart by viewers, Chris isn't. I give him credit for putting himself out there for Amy. I loved the brief glimpse of Levenworth - love that place. I might add - I was in my mid 40s before I ever lived with anyone - and that was my hubby who I moved in with when we got engaged and a year before we married. I had boyfriends previously but no one that wanted to give up living independently for. I don't think Chris being in his 50s and never married is a big deal. If I hadn't married my husband I might be in the same position. There are lots of reasons people don't marry, and to be honest I have more respect for someone who has never married than people who marry multiple times because they can't stand to be alone, and have horrible taste in partners. As I always say, anyone can get married if you set your standards low enough. Hubby and I have been together for 21 years, married for 14. It is the easiest relationship I have ever had, and never feels like work. Sometimes the right person just takes longer to come around, and maybe Amy is the right person for Chris. In any case I love that they are having fun, respect each other, and that Amy finally has a partner who treats her like an equal. I think it is obvious from Amy's comments that Matt and Caryn were having an affair before the divorce, and possibly even before the separation. However at this point I think Amy should thank Caryn for taking Matt off her hands. Chris treats Amy 100 percent better than Matt ever did, and she is happier now than she has ever been on the show. For many years when I would complain about my husband's ex, he would tell me that I should thank her, because she is so useless (basically a narcissistic that could go toe to toe with Matt) that I look even better in comparison. Lol. I enjoyed Jer and Auj's scenes, and that they show a very realistic portrait of new parenthood. I am also impressed at what a natural Jer appears to be as a father - who knew?
