  1. One thing I didn't understand was when Robyn was talking about not feeling like there was a safe space for some discussions. Once again the interviewer dropped the ball, and didn't ask what she meant by that. Was she alluding to Kody being possibly physically violent? Emotionally abusive? (Which we have already seen at least with Meri and Christine). WTH is up with the interviewer that she did not ask for clarification?OR did she and it was edited out?
  2. I learned a lot in this episode. I learned that Robyn doesn't know the difference between a kick back and a push back. I learned that Robyn has no idea that the reason that the other three wives do not have a "fully functioning relationship" with Kody is that he doesn't want one with his other three wives. How does she not know that? And that there is nothing to "figure out" because Kody has made that decision, we know for at least two of the three. I learned that Kody does not think that he and Janelle are in synch as parents, and do not partner really well. I assume this is since Janelle chose her kids over Kody. I learned that Robyn's youngest does not know the names of all her siblings. Maybe the nanny could teach her? What I didn't learn, because once again the interviewer dropped the ball, is WHAT. DOES. THE. NANNY. DO??????
  3. UO I know, but I have liked Shane since day one. He is not only my fav househusband (its a low bar, I know) but my fav person on the show. Can't say my favourite being though, as that honour belongs to Archie.
  4. I don't get the point (other than to brag) of the Dubrows building a house in Cabo in a place where you can't even swim? Mind you I am not a fan of the ocean, so there is that. But I would take our cabin on a beautiful lake, where we can boat, kayak and swim, over a Dubrow monstrosity. I am surprised at some of the activities that Bravo has the ladies participating in. The sweat lodge seemed like a bad idea when they were already complaining about how hot it was. So why go to a sweat lodge/tent? Seemed spectacularly stupid to me. I loved Jen's husband not parroting back to her what she demanded he say to make her feel better. As someone upthread said, what is the point of telling someone to say something to you that they obviously don't feel, or they would already be saying it? All in all another dud of an episode.
  5. She may not have had lap band surgery, but I do believe her weight loss is due to something more structured than she is saying, Even with a weight loss program like Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers, you lose fairly slowly over a long period (if you are trying to lose the amount Sheryl has/is). I have a niece who lost a lot a few years ago by using a specific program that was also doctor regulated. Last year Sheryl did an interview for GH where she talked about meditation, drinking more water, sleeping better, moving more. She was at 2500 steps a day then, which honestly is barely moving throughout the day. In any case she listed a few things that were contributing to helping her lose weight, ending with "mostly prayer". Which is why I call B.S. on her being truthful. No one loses weight mostly by praying. Lol.
  6. I have watched sporadically lately, and often only watch the first part with the hosts' banter,. I do think it is a great group, and they obviously like and respect one another. Regarding Sheryl, she does look great, but I find it hard to believe that she is losing weight due to moving more, drinking more water, praying, eating more fiber, etc. Especially at at 58 (I think she is) when metabolism slows down quite a bit. I wouldn't be surprised if she has had a lap band or such surgery and is just not revealing it (ala Star Jones years ago). But however she has lost weight she does look good, and it will certainly benefit her health wise.
  7. While there are many things that don't make sense (as pointed out, how did Emma move the body and clean up before the police arrived), overall I enjoyed the series. Anna telling the steward that she didn't drink wine anymore, but she would have vodka was hilarious. But the funniest part for me, and what sold me on watching a second season if there is one was the changing epitaph on the gravestone. In the first episode it is the lovely "If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever". In the second episode it was "In heaven you can dance like no one is watching". Also sweet. But the epitaph in episode 6 sold me on the show: "There's no "I" in heaven". That cracked me up.
  8. I hope the interviewer ups her game in the next episode, because she did a p**s poor job in this one. When Meri said that the fracture in her relationship with Kody didn't happen because/when the cat fishing happened, I expected the interviewer to ask when it had happened. Nope. Crickets. Likewise I was waiting for her to ask Kody how it was OK for the nanny and her husband to come to Robyn's every day. I guess that is being addressed next epi. As someone upthread said, I want her to ask in the same way as Christine did. What. Does. The. Nanny. Do? And more importantly, why was that OK when he was so anal with everyone else? There was way too much padding with showing clips of old epis and THs. About the only thing that made me go hmmmm was at the very first when a producer told Robyn to show less cleavage so she tightened up her scarf a bit. Maybe the producers are driving the frumpy, obedient Robyn storyline, not Robyn?
  9. I am always fascinated (and frankly annoyed) at how much trail testimony is left out of these shows, so I did more digging. According to the blood spatter and patterns on the front passenger seat, Barb bled for a "period of time". She also at one point was over the console, and also on the floor of the passenger side. Barb always called her mother, who was in poor health, at 7:45 am on her way to work, and usually talked for 10 minutes or so. This was backed up by her phone records. On the morning of the "accident", Todd called his mother in law at 7:20 am. When asked by the prosecutor why he called, he said sometimes he called and sometimes Barb did. Though phone records showed Barb is the one who would call on her way to work. Todd told the police that Barb started work at 8:30 am, but admitted on the stand she started at 8 am. The prosecutor asked why Barb did not call work to say she would be late (which she never was) and he said it was because she was in the front seat of the car and her purse and phone were in the back seat. I am not sure if this was testimony during the trail, but friends said that Todd was very controlling of Barb, that she could barely go to the bathroom alone. I wonder if it wasn't so much controlling, but very dependent on her? He was also in trouble at work for calling in sick so much (he had also planned to call in sick that day). He also kited cheques, and would tell Barb he had paid a bill when he hadn't. Not sure the reason for this as they didn't seem to have financial problems but he was described as very immature.
  10. As usual with these shows (Dateline and 20/20 also do it) I found that pertinent testimony given at the trial was left out of the episode. When I googled I found some that was given on the episode, and some that wasn't. Barb had 3 bone deep cuts to the back of the head, and a fracture in the back of her skull. I think that was covered. The did talk about other injuries including a broken nose, but don't think they said in the epi that she had fingernail scratches on her neck, and two torn fingernails. There were no glass shards on her, and there was no blood on the pipe. The glass particles on the passenger seat indicated that it was empty when the pipe penetrated the windshield. In addition the passenger door was likely open when the pipe penetrated the windshield, as no glass pieces were found in the door pocket. Todd's explanation for the scratches on his neck and chest made no sense. How would he get scratches particularly on his chest from installing glass? And even taking out broken glass? Does he work shirtless? He said none of the three different people he claimed he was going to get the vehicles of, knew he was coming. He was just going to swing around and pick up the vehicle. Do people routinely leave keys in their vehicles? I guess then his wife would take their vehicle to work, rolling in much later than her 8am start time? Why not do the 20 minute check of the neighbour's house after that then, so the wife would not be late for work? I think Todd is exactly where he should be.
  11. I think most of us on these threads are avid true crime show viewers. That is likely the reason that it bothered me that years later Rodney was still being investigated as a suspect. Now it is possible Dateline just made it look like the last set of detectives still considered Rodney a viable suspect, just as Dateline concealed Rodney's surroundings so we would not know if he was actually incarcerated. But the female detective did say "It is not usually a stranger". We have seen shows where the spouse was convicted, despite having among other things multiple witnesses to their alibi. The one poor guy at a poker party, convicted of killing his wife, comes to mind. Wow, I just read as well that Carla was alive for two days following the abduction, and injected with morphine. How convenient (though not unusual) that Dateline left this piece of evidence out of the story. I also read that in his original interview McCurley told the police that his wife was out of town that weekend, and that he worked until 4 on the day of the abduction and not the following day. And that his gun was stolen around the time of the abduction (he was interviewed 6 weeks after the abduction and said his gun was stolen 6 weeks earlier). And that he didn't report it stolen because he was an ex con. Hindsight is 50/50 but even back in 1974, McCurley seemed like someone they should have pursued. And certainly when the second and third set of detectives took another look.
  12. I was really annoyed that years later the male and female cop who were investigating were still trying to pin the murder on Rodney. The reason? Because it is usually someone that the victim knows. None of the cops so called reasoning made sense when it happened, or years later. Going to the parents home which was close by made sense. Not knowing how long he was out made sense. But the fact that there was a part of a gun at the scene of where Rodney said it happened should have been a pretty big clue that Clara really was abducted. Was there ever any evidence that 18 yr old Rodney had a gun, let alone routinely carried it around in his mother's car? Sheesh. Not to mention he was hypnotized not long after it happened -I guess they felt that he could fake being hypnotized and make up the whole session, including details of the abductor. Fooled the hypnotist, apparently. Also Rodney reunited with his high school friends that were also Clara's friends before the case was solved. Not likely that would happen if he was the murderer. That whole part of Rodney being a suspect, especially still years later, ticked me off.
  13. OMG, the chicken coop pitch might have been the funniest one I have ever seen on Shark Tank. By the end of it I was laughing so hard. I said to hubby that Chet was a bird brain. Hubby thought he might have been pecked in the head a few times. Daymond asking if they were on Candid Camera was hysterical. And Kevin's "What the f**k was that? " at the end pretty much summed it up. How sad that one of the co founders of Kettlegrip has passed. A very sobering end to the episode.
  14. Actually interspersed with scenes from Mykelti's shower were THs of Christine saying that a few weeks before she had told Kody that he was no longer welcome in her bed. So I have no reason to believe that she did not pack up Kody's things around that time as well, or at least in January. You had mentioned that some of them may have been vaccinated in March. I googled when AZ adults were being vaccinated as I have a friend in California who was vaccinated in March, but he is in his mid 60s. Towards the end of March AZ opened vaccinations up to anyone over 16, but no idea when Kody/wives age group might have been eligible before that, In any case there is no indication that this episode timeline encompassed two months.
  15. Was there something I missed in the episode that indicated that the timeline had jumped from January when the birthday party and baby shower took place, to March? If it was March, its hard to believe that any of the adults in the Brown family would have been vaccinated without cameras in tow, and Robyn tearfully giving thanks to God for saving her family. As far as what was and what was not safe, pretty much everyone except Kody and his chosen family knew back in the fall that doing things like wiping mail and groceries and changing clothes when you come home was unnecessary.
  16. I guess later on, God wasn't looking our for Garrison and Gabriel, no doubt because they didn't bow down to Kody. At least that is what I assume Kody and Robyn would think. It was funny that Kody claimed that he doesn't believe in divorce. Meanwhile he divorced his only actual legal wife to marry Robyn. Apparently though half (or possibly two thirds) of Kody's spiritual wives are supposed to be fine with Kody dictating what their marriages will and will not consist of. Friendship the form of his sparkling personality should be enough. 🤧
  17. That had me shaking my head as well. WTF? Where I live, even a year later, it is only available for those who show symptoms. Ya wanna test for any other reason, buy them yourself. How disgusting that after not seeing most of his kids for months, it is suddenly OK'd by Kody because his princess demanded it. I roll my eyes (and this is at any parent) at parents who claim that their special snowflake has demanded something, so they must comply. Like it is really cute, when it is actually really obnoxious. I am confused though as to why, after the potential super spreader Christmas get together and birthday party, Kody is now fine going to Christine's to do work? It didn't sound like he had been there for ages because no one there was following his rules, but now it is OK? I guess because the nanny/tutor/Jack and Jill of all trades came down with Covid? Kody is such a jackass, and that is karma at its best. Geez, so the first time we have seen Kody laugh this whole season was in relation to the Covid test? TLC really needs to dump this sad excuse for a human being. I would totally watch a spin off of Christine in her new life. And Janelle's kids. I hope Christine finds her Prince Charming, as she really seems to want that, and she has already had the frog.
  18. I always know the husband did it when, despite having problems, he claims that he and his wife had a wonderful day before she disappeared, including making love. Dead giveaway, no pun intended. What a controlling POS. But what did it for me was his tranquilizing deer to cut off their antlers. What a monster. Not surprised that his daughters are sticking by him - as has been already said, we see it time after time. I also agree with above poster that the mother's affair liked tainted the girls' opinion of their mother, topped off with her dream of moving with the boyfriend to another country. I hope daddy dearest rots in jail, if only to keep the poor animals in his vicinity safe.
  19. I would never buy one of those bathing suits. If I am wearing a bathing suit, it is because the weather is hot, The last thing I would want to wear is a combination girdle/corset. And I didn't think they were flattering on the larger models. The one model may have had a hour glass figure from the front, but from the back her back fat was scrunched together, and visible through the laces of the corset. I am not fat shaming, just stating a fact. Between being pulled and sucked in, and the heavy material, I would feel like I couldn't breathe. The pitcher was pretty funny when she compared her product to Ring. What a ding-a-ling. Like others I was confused as to how a brow product could tame thick brows with one application a day and thicken thin brows with two applications. I did like that Mark came back in though.
  20. I always find it funny when howives brag about their lavish lifestyles, that are often the result of marrying money. Heather Dubrow. Erika Girardi. Noella. Though I guess in Erika's case it is the result of marrying a swindler. Though that could also be the case with Heather and Noella, we just haven't found out as yet. I didn't think it was possible though to dislike Noella more than Heather, but I did in this epi. It is going to be a long season if they keep giving Noella this much air time. Ugh. Dr Jen is really a Bravo fail as well. She complains about having to split her time between family, her job and friends. But these are not her friends. and she is in Cabo because she took another job as a howife. I hate women who complain about their lives when they are the ones making the decisions to put themselves in the very position they are complaining about. Go away Dr Jen and take Rye Rye with you. And Noella.
  21. I don't think either Sandy or Rick were responsible for Ted's death. I think Ted was responsible for Ted's death, whether intentional or accidental. I am glad they both got second trials, as even in the first trial I thought it was ridiculous that the prosecution witness claimed that Ted was killed by sitting on his chest. Sheesh. Why would anyone plan a murder and then use such a ridiculous method of killing the person? Especially a person who is a known drug addict. Also I don't necessarily believe the lawyer that Ted was going to change his will. The quote that the lawyer attributed to Ted just seemed too pat, and I am glad it got thrown out before the retrial. It really sealed it for me that Sandy was innocent when she was waiting for the verdict on the second trial. She knew if she was found guilty a second time that would be it. I think she was innocent, and was freaking out knowing that this was her last chance. I thought Rick's lawyer in the second trial made some good points, but he really gave a head shaking closing argument, so thank goodness the jury didn't hold that against Rick. I love that Sandy saw Keith by chance on the PCH and reconnected with him. And I agree with the post above, that she would never have done that is she was guilty of Ted's murder. I am glad that she went on to have a happy life.
  22. I wondered if it was self published as well which is why I checked Goodreads. Interesting, as Goodreads lists the publisher as Flashpoint Books, but when I googled that I got a comic book series. However elsewhere I saw it was published by Girl Friday Productions. Guess who the one 5 star rating was given by? Girl Friday Productions (which apparently is out of Seattle). It does seem rather unethical for a publisher to rate its own book on a book rating site. Not to mention hide the fact that it is actually the publisher. Oddly enough, since I posted on here last night there are now 5 one star ratings, and a 4 star rating (on top of the 5 star one its own publisher gave it). So due it part to its own publisher rating it, the book sits at an overall rating of two stars out of five.
  23. I had to laugh at Heather's assertion that she and Max needed to do things like have their chakras read in order to bond. So, so important instructs pretentious Heather. Imagine all of us who were able to bond with our mothers and daughters without such trips. Sheesh. So this episode was filmed in September, but Max's book was not published until November. So did the Dubrows need to throw a launch party two months early because maybe filming would stop before they could give some free publicity to the book? Out of interest I checked out reviews on Goodreads. It received 5 stars by one person in September (two months before it was actually released - Heather?), and three one star reviews since it launched in early November. I hope the Dubrows have prepared Max for the fact that most 17 year olds are likely not going to be publishing successes, no matter what the subject. So Heather has a huge house, but her sanctuary/shrine is a tiny, windowless, dark and drab room? Pretty much all of my house is my sanctuary, I am not relegated to a tiny area to call my own. And Heather has nowhere else to film but in her kitchen? Seriously? It isn't like she was cooking. And Terry had to be there in the background? He really is hard to look at - he gets more unattractive every year it seems. But then, so does Heather. They really are well suited to each other.
  24. Love every word of this post! As far as I can see, polygamy at least in Kody's world is for emotionally vacant, manipulative, and controlling men. He is only finding it hard now because half of his wives have woken up to his B.S. And pretty much all of his children, certainly the adult ones. Janelle I think it was said that they raised strong willed children. They at least raised children smart enough to see what horrible lives their mothers' have had (other than Robyn's spawn), and want nothing to do with the lifestyle their mothers' have led.
  25. So Robyn was sad that Janelle's kids said they would do whatever Christine wanted, which she took to mean that they didn't really care about seeing Robyn and her spawn. Despise knowing that Janelle's kids were raised by Christine. Janelle's kids would never have been raised by Robyn had she been around then, they would have been raised by Robyn's nanny. So cry me a river, Sobyn. Kody never wants his wives to share a kitchen? Not a problem since he only has one wife., Merri by his own choice is a friend, Christine has no use for him and Janelle has made it known her kids are more important than Kody (as they should be). Problem solved, KoDouche. I continue to shake my head though over Janelle's mind boggling misunderstanding of monogamous marriages. She likes polygamy because she and her wives understand each other because they are complaining about the same man? I can complain to any of my girlfriends about my hubby and they understand completely. I would imagine it works the same way with men complaining to their friends about their wives. Marriage is marriage. The only difference is that Kody managed to get four women to set their standards low enough to marry him. Janelle also talked about how she thought marriage was based on mutual respect. Has Kody ever shown any of his wives mutual respect? Is Janelle finally waking up to how Kody has always been? But yes, there can be marriage based on mutual respect, just not sure if that is possible in polygamy. It is certainly the basis of my monogamous marriage. Maybe you should try it, Janelle.
