They problem is they didn't show that. As recently as Episode 3 she was same old normal Dany. Frankly I wish she went after the army of the dead like she did at King's Landing last night. Pros to this plot line: - you tube snark is hysterical; - All those people named Dani or Kalessi are like whoops. - Cersi is finally dead. - Euron is dead. - Calling up xfinity and cancelling cable early - priceless. Cons - well just about everything else.

She is his queen, he pledged loyalty to her. What is the point of that if he does what he wants. He has now forced her hand... the secret always puts her reign in doubt. Either keep it to yourself or die. Simple. What? Everyone saw that... all the people up north and they shunned Dany for being who she was.. blood is non their hands.

I am sorry to say but Sansa is a traitor and needs to die. Jon being the foolish leader that he is, will kill Dany to stop this. But Sansa is a sneaky cerci clone and it would truly be better for the 7 kingdoms for her to die. If she is allowed to live she will just become another Cersi / little finger.

As she said, she told him NOT to tell his sisters of his background... he did, this threatens her reign. He is straight up a traitor.

She saved them all from the night king at great cost to herself... what did she get for it? Seeing her performance last night she could have stacked Kings landing two years ago and taken on the night king with ease.

I am concerned now that the most severe spoilers are true. That next week Dany will just start executing the remaining people of Kings Landing and force Jon and the Starks hand to have to kill her. There is a spoiler that says that Tyrion, while under arrest, advises Jon that unless he kills Dany his family will never be safe because they know of his claim. This seems right on the money. But again, if Jon had not betrayed her... she wouldn't have this problem right now. If I were Dany I would fly on up to Winterfell and have Sansa, Samwell, and everyone else killed right now. They have proven the will stab her in the back for no good reason. I feel for the people of Westeros. They will suffer now because from the moment she arrived with good intentions they flipped her the bird.

In prior years of this show I might have assumed the fact that we didn't see anything going on with her while she was on the dragon until the bells rang could leave opening for some trick to be happening... such as Gray Worm and Dany knowing it was the signal to release wildfire. But I have lost faith that this show hasn't just gotten lazy. It was unforgivable for the *battle* to have been so one sided without being able to see Dany and what was happening up there. Not to mention all the time we spent with Arya on the ground absolutely infuriated me. It was impossible to really get a sense of what was going on from that point of view and it was obviously so the fan base would not be able to say "maybe it wasn't that bad on the ground or maybe wildfire did it." D&D made their narrative choices and those choices now were to rub fans of Dany's face in it. They are telling us no matter what you saw, they are making her the mad queen who must be put down. Personally I think Tyrion is straight up the reason for this. Had Dany attacked at the start of season 7 and might have simply taken out the red keep. Everyone around Dany HAS betrayed her or died. She is right, Jon, Sansa, and Tyrion betrayed her. For those saying it was Dany, I will remind you of the two year lengths that she went to not to do this... even asking for surrender last week only to have her best friend's head cut off.

Oh he will find them next week when he kills Dany... can't you see it.. he will then bring the dawn against this new threat of Dany. If only Dany had used those skills on the night king.

Yeh personally I have no sympathy for them. How many times have we seen the people act horribly there, (beheding Ned) - the walk of shame? But I know D&D in the story will be horrified and will want everyone to feel that they have to take her out because she dared to act like any other man would. Oh sorry, not the saintly Jon. Sorry.

That was TERRIBLE. I thought the spoilers was bad but that was worse. Shall we begin - I could not see Dany at all, at all, during her initial sack of kings landing and the iron fleet. How lazy. I mean they didn't even bother to give me some shots of her on the dragon. - I am disgusted that they humanized Cersi at the end. D&D do you not remember last week he beheaded an innocent just for fun? Never mine how many people she has killed. - I am most disappointed about how they portrayed Dani. There was just no reason to keep firing on Kings Landing and that is NOT in character for 7 freaking seasons. She just wouldn't do that no matter how upset she was. But I know D&D mean us to think she would. Personally, in this show I think Dany could be given a pass. She tried so many times to avoid this situation and it only got her personal losses. Enough. It could NOT be avoided. But I know the show won't see it that way. I blame Cersie. - Speaking of, I always love that Cersie thinks she is smarter than she is but MAN did she lose badly. My god... the golden company ... what a joke? - I want Tyrion tried for treason. He was blatantly treasonous before he let his brother go. - I kind of what Sansa tried for treason. Dany is absolutely right that Sansa was trying to usurp her and that she is as much as to blame and Verys. But I blame D&D for setting up this dynamic in the first place. There was NO reason for Sansa to hate Dany or really even care. Plus guess Sansa learned nothing from the game of thrones. - I could cared less about Sandor and his brother. Again another backslip in character. He didn't need his brother anymore, he had friends in the north. And did the hound actually do anything that Dany wouldn't have done? Arya was useless but she was there to make us feel bad for the citizens of Kings Landing. I am Jon will kill Dany next week because Arya will want her dead and I am sure Dany will want Sansa dead. Sansa is a clear and present threat to her reign and always will be. So, for that matter, is Arya and Bran.

I actually liked the Lost ending. That being said there are ways you could do it that don't seem so insanely romantic. Such as Jon not knowing he would have a son or just the way they all act. I think it really gives a reason for Jon to have been raised from the dead, a reason we don't have at the moment.

Right on. It is even more sexist in that the show seems to want to back Jon even though he is a male Targaryen. The last two (or maybe three) male Targs were crazy. I hope D&D and HBO feel the full backlash of twitter for their sexist pathetic fanfic that they filmed.

And it would allow HBO to do a sequel in about 10 years focusing in Jon's child.

But assuming she does something, Darrio called it Dany is a natural conqueror. When a man is a conqueror he is a great leader. A woman is "CRAAZZZYYYY". Ironically the best thing for this world likely would be Jon, Tyrion and Dany all working together. Jon would be the wisdom, Tyrion the day to day game playing, and Dany would be the muscle. I would like people to define what exactly is "crazy" for Dany here. If she takes out Cerci and a small amount of innocents.. I think that is fine. It is a necessary evil. If she lines up every person in kings landing to burn them alive... yeh that would be crazy. Dany cannot wait forever to get Cerci out. No only because then Cerci wins but Dany risks losing allies and giving Cerci time to come up with ways to defeat her.

I always felt for her too. I feel like she was sort of made to believe she had a destiny and when people see her as power mad I don't see it that way. I see it has her believing she would be "the one" and she had a mission that was larger than her. I am sure she, Dany, the woman would be happy being married and a mother. It would have been tragic if Dany had believably lost her mind... it would have been tragic if Jon had believably loved her and had to kill her ... but none of it is really believable. - Not believable that Dany would lost her mind on this storyline, - Not believable that Jon ever loved Dany. - Not believable that Jon's only choice is to kill Dany.

Me too and what straight up infuriates me is that I thought I found a show where that kind of thing would never happen. Thus my loyalty. It wasn't like going to see a movie where you aren't sure what you are going to get. I am also sad for the death of entertainment. There have been so many poor endings (lost, dexter) and poor movies I have to wonder if entertainment is simply not capable of doing it any longer. I feel like this show "broke the wheel" of Hollywood. I think millions will stop even watching tv shows going forward because it is clear that there is a generation of people working in entertainment who are talentless. I had been considering getting rid of cable before this but afterward.. I will definitely do that. Honestly some of the "You tube" theories were better than the show so I will get my quality fix there.

Saw a good you tube video last night arguing that, though it appears from the trailers that Dany will destroy Kings Landing with Drogon, she argues that the footage is really just from Dany destroying the iron fleet. She destroys the iron fleet so Yara and her ships can move in. This video argues that Dany takes out Cersi via a night attack and that comes from the season 8 trailer where we see a dragon in darkness stick his head out and fire - which we didn't see in episode 3.

If D&D wanted to subvert expectations they should have had Arya use the face abilities to get into the red keep but then had Arya take the face off so the Cerci knew who she was and that she was going to die at her hand. I don't love the idea that she would think it was Jamie..

That was laughable. It also isn't even consistent with Dany's actions. When she got the unsullied she told them they could leave. She has always kept that promise. So if Tyrion wanted to leave she would let him go. More than anyone else on the show he is not afraid of her. Absolutely, terrible for the evil doers in the world. Dany has, for most of the series, over and over again, asked for advice, received poor advice, taken matters into her own hands, and got stuff done. More than anything else this episode I look forward to her doing things HER way and triumphing. I want her to be *full stop* stop listening or even talking to her "advisors" and take reasonable and obvious steps. Such as (1) putting armor on the dragon, (2) using the dragon's full capabilities (diving from the sky too high for the ballistas) and going back up, and (3) take the iron throne without concern about what the people will think, until, she gets the throne and then explain to the people what happened. I would love it if she had called for Darrio and there was a surprise but that might be something there wasn't time for. I also look forward to Gray Worm winning the battle and becoming the new hand of the queen.

In the abstract I might not have had a problem with it but 1. The writing has not set this up. For Dany to "go mad" in the second to last episode turning on a dime, is laughable. It isn't earned. 2. Robb and Robbs wife and Ned were characters we followed for a little while, however, Dany is a character we have followed for 8 freaking years. If TV shows are allowed to dispatch such characters in a cheap "subverting expectations" storyline.. why bother watching tv shows at all? Also both Ned and Robb were earned storylines. Set up and even if you were shocked, you could see it happening.

More circumstantial evidence of Drogon having armor is that all the photos in the episode do not include Drogon.

Me too. It is tragic that they have destroyed his character too but ever since he came back from the dead he is utterly pointless, yet weirdly everyone seems to think he is the best thing since sliced bread. While simultaneously disagreeing with every decision he makes. There were several pay offs I thought I would get with the character that I haven't. Such as I wanted to see the scene and reaction when Dany found out he was brought back from the dead. I mean, that might literally change her mind and make her think, well, maybe I was wrong about it being my destiny. But noooooo... apparently no one ever talks about these things.

One reason I can't care about the spoilers anymore. I think they made a mistake in leaking a lot of foilers. Now people are making things up with abandon. You can't tell what is going to happen. It is definitely hurting my enjoyment of the show. I heard the last episode was one of the lowest rated. I think people are getting frustrated. I will note however none of the spoilers have been right that weren't leaked on the day of the episode. Only reasons to watch for me 1. I have found all the acting to be quite good and I believe the acting is elevating the material. 2. I hold out hope for reason and that the show runners will not want to hurt the brand. With all that HBO has planned for it. Though I think that might be too late. 3. I want to be able to fully enjoy the fan reaction(vitriol) right as the episode ends.
