For the first time since 2015, I’m paying to get into New York Comic Con. Wound up online for fifty minutes before getting four tickets, one for each day. General question for anyone reading this: what is your ideal con? I still regard Comic-Con (the one in San Diego) as “Geek Mecca” because every fan should make one trip, and I got press access to NYCC the last few years due to FOMO, because it was too damn close to me not to attend. But is there a show for you guys that’s big enough with minimal hassles?

So, basically, Zamasu + Goku Black = Zamasu. A really, really pious pain-in-the-ass Zamasu. But at least Trunks manages to kill him/them. And then I see the teaser for next week. It's never easy, is it? At least Trunks' Spirit Bomb Sword looked dope. And here's Team Four Star putting their spin on it, because G-Gundam is too awesome not to use. ETA: Only one more episode in this arc! I like Future Trunks, but I'm ready to move on.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - General Discussion
Lantern7 replied to Meredith Quill's topic in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
This week: Iggy loses a paw, but he stands tall and proud, killing DIO's pet falcon, Pet Shop. Afterward, he unites with the Crusaders, who are now joined by Kakioyin, fresh off the inactive list. Iggy leads the team to Mansion DIO, and we get another montage of highlights set to "Stand Proud," as we get closely to the end of "Stardust Crusaders." Sadly, it might be a while before "Diamond Is Unbreakable" gets dubbed. Toonami sticking a subtitled version at 3:30 would be nice, but I'm not expecting that. Shit, Japanese audiences are still waiting on anime adaptations of "Vento Aureo," "Stone Ocean," "Steel Ball Run" and "Jojolion." That's Joe-Joe-Lee-On, not Joe-Joe-Lie-On. -
“And the bases are loaded for Aaron Judge.” “What is ‘Shit no Mets fan ever wants to hear’?” He grounded out to end the inning. Mets still up, but I don’t want to know how many bandwagon hoppers Yankees fans are in attendance. ETA: The Yankees tied the game. Why wouldn’t they? ? ETA2: And Judge homered. I think the Mets fans are outnumbered . . . but given the lack of a crap the team is giving, I can’t blame the diehards for staying home. The mediocrity is bad enough without Yankees fans (wearing jerseys with names on the back like all the best rooters) giving them shit.

@Netfoot . . good rule of thumb, so to speak. All I’ve been doing is wasting time and napping a lot. I want to go back to work (missed two days so far), but I don’t want to bleed and gross people out.

Moving away from the potential horror that is TAR31 . . . has anybody here gone through surgery to fix a deviated septum? I went through that on Thursday. I don't know wen I should go back to work. Right now, I'm wearing gauze over my nostrils, and some nasty stuff is coming from one of those. All I know is that I'm supposed to have the "packing" removed next week, and i don't know if I should wait until then to go back to doing more than sleeping and passing time at home.

RW in the Media: Somehow the Show is Almost Relevant
Lantern7 replied to scrb's topic in The Real World
Has nobody else heard? RW might be making a comeback. Also, since I don't use streaming services, I would no longer be required to give a fuck! -
That might have been a coincidence. Now I'm dreading a news organization doing an obituary, ending with the sound of a bowl rattling on the floor. Maybe followed by Ron breaking out the crackers.

While I'm up: Goku vs. Superman memes. No. 14 is really funny. And for the hell of it:

That's how a 100th episode is done. Lots of callbacks from the series, a few from Frisky Dingo (how did I miss "Master Coconut" last week?!? Thanks, AV Club!), and everybody going off the rails. Except for French Ray, who hid from the carnage. And we got a few new terms like "Widowmaker" and "Chub Club." And Archer seemed so into those boys' success. Also, Fuchs basically becomes Cocaine Hitler. In an exo-suit. Works for me. Really hoping that Archer comes back to "reality" next week. With the final season approaching, I don't really want an "Archer Leap" theme. "Sterling Archer found himself in the past, facing a reflection that was mostly his own. He travels from Archer to Archer, making smartass remarks and pissing people off, and hoping his next leap . . . will be the leap home." Come to think of it, that would be better than the final season of Quantum Leap.

S10.E02: Los Angeles City Qualifiers 2018.06.06
Lantern7 replied to Lantern7's topic in American Ninja Warrior
Fun episode. I reckon most of the familiar folks made the cut, even if they couldn't handle the knobs. At least Kevin Bull would have an excuse for missing Las Vegas: he was too busy training Akbar. At least no Kacy this week. I'd like to see her show up for no real reason, do commentary . . . then rip off the mask to reveal "herself" as Isaac Caldiero, right before he rushes the course in one minute. "Matt, how did we not know?!?" "I thought she was on a stool or something!!!!" Welcome back, Zhanique. I also can't harsh on Sean Bryan. He had a great performance keeping his team in the game in the Ninja vs. Ninja semifinal. However, I'm thinking the "Joined In Progress" cut means he doesn't get far this year. -
Season Three and Beyond: FFwSB
Lantern7 replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Full Frontal With Samantha Bee
I believe in the apology, even if I didn't think it was that warranted. What Sam was trying to bring up was something that got glossed over by certain members of the media getting their knickers in a twist, and she said as much tonight. She got that out of the way, then did depressing stories with little hope, yet managed to stay funny. Also, I don't know what part of Texas that was, but I'm staying out of it. And I'm straight. Thanks, Sam!- 482 replies

S02:E08: Champs vs. Stars: When Loyalty Is Spot On 2018.06.05
Lantern7 replied to OnceSane's topic in The Challenge
Good thing this is charity stuff, otherwise this might be meaningful. Let's see . . . a more painful version of Twister, Shane being a little bitch yet again, and him and three other more meaningful players got bounced in the absolute dumbest way possible. In a "regular" season, I think social media would be up in arms. Well, probably not. The Challenge is becoming like Survivor, in the sense that it's less and less meaningful for me. I rode a minibus for years. I was surrounded by assholes, but most of 'em weren't dummies like him. Big Brother contestants ruin everything. EVERYTHING. In case you didn't see the Media thread . . . I posted the trailer, along with a tweet from Marie, claiming that shot of her was when she emerged from the basket in Vendettas. Hey, I thought it was funny. -
Also: Jurassic Park tie-in stuff! ANW is really getting to be a thing!! BTW, are posters no longer able to include episode number and date? Just curious.

“Swooned.” Is that what they’re calling it these days? ?

Is it wrong that I read the post from @johntfs and immediately thought of this?

So you don’t think Mack from Agents of SHIELD could settle Thanos’ hash with the shotgun-axe? That’s an oft-repeated fantasy of mine. ?

@Destiny74 . . . next week is the last semifinal. Then we have the finale. We might get Flip vs. Lorin. That might be epic in itself. Man, things got kicked up a notch. Something awesome and funny about Sean Bryan wedging himself on the Spider Climb, frantically trying to remain in place while resting his arms. And he kept Tri-Hards in the game to boot.

Totally 4 Teens Mostly 4 Millennials is coming in July. I think that's Eric Andre doing Eric Andre stuff, only now he's looking like Guy Fieri.

I want to disagree about looks. In my mind, I can't see any woman finding me attractive. I mean, I have low self-esteem, I basically roll my eyes at myself every day, and I still have a lot of stuff to work on . . . and it's not easier since I'm not getting any younger. For me, the window is closing, and the odds of me getting into a "meetcute" situation are remote at best. I post pictures of myself on OKC, but I let my writing do the heavier lifting, because I tend to get flustered talking. If a woman sees inside my brain, I probably have a better shot.

@Bastet & @Moose135 . . . well, we've gotten along great online. She's been having trouble with her phone, so that's why we haven't talked. That's why I feel a little weird responding to likes, even when there's a lot of overlap.
