How unfair was Fish Darts? That is a straight-up bullshit Stand, not something established in this anime. Killua chopping off the cousins’ heads was a kindness. They were that annoying. Octopus chimera ant has thick eyebrows. Cool.

I recorded it. Did anyone give Joey shit about him and Tim failing on TAR? “We put Joey’s hot dogs in a locked box with a handle. That gives his opponents a two-minute headstart.”

Saw this today. I liked it, though I probably need to go to theaters for movies that aren't in a franchise. Also, my mother wasn't pleased by the five seconds of Viva Las Pterodactyl (or whatever). There needs to be a ratings system for stingers . . . so people could avoid stuff like that, the goofy monster in Thor: The Dark World, Steve Rodgers all but trolling the audience in Spider-Man: Homecoming, etc. I liked the dinosaur with the eggy head. She just loved headbutting. I get how Blue and the Indoraptor gets the attention, but there is this aggressive gal, sending auction-goers flying. And they're bidding for dinosaurs, so they're more than likely assholes and bitches. Yeah, the people were mostly 2-D or less developed. Forgot that was BD Wong because I'm used to him playing Dr. Hugo Strange on Gotham, where he's basically 80 percent ham. I do like the idea of Maisie being a clone. Hey, that's the next step, right? And she was made with dino DNA? And yeah, we basically moved from blockbuster scene to blockbuster scene. It was still good, though. Have there been any recent movies with magma and lava?

That wasn’t a bad ep, filler or not. Of course Asta still has his heart set on Sister Lily, and the misunderstandings are out in force. Still cute, though. Nice to learn more about the Black Bulls. Looks like Klaus von Lowtalker wants to be more social. Is he the Shino of the team? And “The Dreavy Hinker”? Inspired. Probably not the “actual” name, but since we’re dealing with a fictional foreign language, who cares? Also: new credits. 1. Does the evil girl with glasses remind anyone else of Hange over on AoT? 2. Hey, looks like Yami will be doing stuff soon!!

Reminder: July 4 means the annual Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest on Coney Island. Once again, Joey Chestnut will be competing, and I'm mentioning this because -- technically -- he is a TAR alumnus. Here's an article on betting on the contest; the whole thing airs live on ESPN2 tomorrow at none.

Nothing like turning to SNY and finding out the Mets lost. And then rewinding to see some schmuck pitcher give up the decisive homer, and watching him bow his head, knowing full well he fucked up. And then checking to see who that guy was, and discovering the Mets blew a five-run lead in the seventh. Cut to dickhead Yankees fans writing letters to the local newspapers to rub that shit in Mets fans' faces. Well, they probably have to find somebody that can write, so they can take down the bragging. Potential headline: "BULLPEN SHITS BED YET AGAIN." Underneath: "Callaway found outside library with books on how to fake death." Like I said . . . when I make fun of the team, I can be funny and barbed, but not outright men.

With the emergence of the Queer Eye reboot, is Karamo the most famous participant in this season after Mike and Jamie?

Me: Well, I still hate myself, so I’m gonna read the “letters to the editor” page. Daily News: Hey, I have good news. No letters from readers defending the indefensible. Me: That’s nice. DN: But we got hate speech on the Mets from probable Yankees fans. Me: See, when I make fun, I make fun. They do it, they’re mean assholes. ?

"Eat your dick." "Huh?" "EAT. YOUR. DICK." "Yeah, you just swallowed a placebo. I'd tell you how I made it, but I want you on my side. Don't worry, Humperdoo had nothing to do with that." Nice to have Herr Starr back, killing Krishnas and generally being an asshole. Can't wait for him to meet Jesse's family. Still hoping Eugene is okay. Well, Eugene is never okay. I don't know if you've noticed, but he's got a face what looks like an arse. Man, Featherstone's partner Hoover is friggin' useless. He sucks. Not unlike a Hoover vacuum. That never occurred to me. I kinda want a crossover now, though Louisiana and Georgia don't share a border. Dan Halen meets Herr Star, Ruby Jean meets Marie, Rusty meets Eugene. And we would have an inbred descendant of Jesus alongside a Jesus that's a squid. Good thing I'm working a day job, or I'd get to writing. Ball is your court, @Sandman87. ?

Heads up . . . NBC will be running this episode tonight in lieu of the Minneapolis qualifiers. -
S05.E17: CRISPR and gene splicing 2018.07.01

Yeah, but John called her a cookie with a few too many raisins. To illustrate her opponent, he got showered by raisins for at least a minute. And who knows how long it took to clean that up. He also took the third-party candidates to task. Kinda surprised John didn’t demand that any and all CRISPR treatments would need Crispin Glover as their spokesman. Or is the joke too obvious? -
Another good episode. Two Indiana Jones bits, the exploration of the aftermath of Disney’s Robin Hood, the rise of DoubleDaredevil (I didn’t get it until near the end), and a half-ass hybrid of Hamilton and “The Three Little Pigs.”

S05.E17: CRISPR and gene splicing 2018.07.01

This will be a new episode. With [American] Independence Day falling on Wednesday, a lot of my fave series are taking the week off . . . but Johnny will no doubt celebrate in his own way: disrespecting the White House, bringing our attention to stuff we don't think about, and throwing in ridiculous stuff. Hopefully, no Bobby Moynihan-as-Santa talking about his masturbatory habits. ETA: Something something something genetic alterations, deserved disrespect to the president, horror animals in Florida, and Canadian curlers. More importantly, a short yet intricate story from John that ends with a large tick fucking a lovesick mouse. -
@Matt K . . . Hm. Well, my guess is that FLCL Progressive gets rerun at least once, and probably pushed past midnight. Maybe a marathon of the first two seasons on Labor Day weekend? Also, like I've said on the JBA forums, I don't think "Diamond is Unbreakable" has been officially dubbed into English. My hope is that we'd get a subtitled version, though I would suspect that would get shoved towards the end of the block . . . if Toonami does that at all, which I doubt. Also, Space Dandy is near the end of its run. I'm still hoping for the return of One Piece. I can get the episodes on DVD from the library, but I seldom sit around to watch. Attack on Titan is a given, though I don't think the third season has aired in Japan yet. Ditto the second season of One-Punch Man, which is where Mob Psycho 100 would fill the void. And, once again, "slice of life" anime probably wouldn't be considered, even with the extreme tangents in animation seen in Nichijou. Wait, so Pop Team Epic is basically two episodes, both the same, only with different voice actors? After last night, I think it's too "inside joke" for me.

Mets just defeated Miami. Had the Marlins won, they would've crawled out of last place. Good thing for Miami . . . their fans were gonna riot. We're talking fives of dollars worth of damage to the Miami area. Maybe even tens. Lucky break for Miami!!

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - General Discussion
Lantern7 replied to Meredith Quill's topic in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Well, the Younger D'arby story is over. It looks like Jotaro basically poker-faced his way to victory again, giving out false vibes to screw with D'arby's stand . . . but, nope, it was actually Oldjo screwing with the console, controlling the game instead of his grandson. Funny . . . he insisted on checking the console for tampering, but D'arby never checked for purple vines while he was playing. Does Jotaro beat the shit outta his opponent? To quote Oldjo: "Yes, yes, yes, oh my God." Epcar is great with that line, which was said in English in the original. Meanwhile, the other Crusaders elect to storm the castle mansion. After one-shotting a Stand user (Narrator: "NAME: BILLIE JEAN! OCCUPATION: NOT MY LOVER!! ADDITIONAL: THE KID IS NOT MY SON!!!!"), they run into Vanilla Cool Ice, whose Stand has devoured him and most of itself. I like to imagine DIO watching him, all, "Shit, I'm all about evil, but this guy is too damn weird." Avdol winds up sacrificing himself to save Polnareff and Iggy . . . though that might be an illusion. Maybe we're playing with Gotham-style rules: everybody is allowed to die and come back, but only once. Credit to @Sandman87 for not making a "He's harmless cuz he's armless!!" joke. From what I heard, Jotaro's hair looked like his hair and hat were one. Now I'm thinking that the hat is frayed with no back, but it sticks to the head properly. Does anybody know what the little charm on his hat signifies? The hand thing, I mean. ETA: The one-shot user's "real" name: Kenny G. Well, he does blow. He got killed by Iggy, so that would fit. -
My Hero Academia - General Discussion

Heads up: Toonami has moved the series to 11 p.m. after Dragon Ball Super. -
Reminder: FLCL has been moved to 11:30 to replace Dragon Ball Z Kai. ETA: When the season gets a marathon, I’ll probably record the whole thing and watch it in one shot. While I’m trying to unspool the last two episodes, I have a merchandising idea: actual irons that look like Medical Mechanica. And when you press the steam button, it makes the alarm sound.

Awesome, @aradia22. Glad that you got someone who sounds intelligent. One thing . . . is there a universal sign that a woman would want to be kissed? I dunno . . . I'm neurotic enough as it is, and I feel like I'll never get the hang of societal rules, but I'm scared that I'd go too far if I kiss, even if it's not on the lips. Holding hands? I think I do that on every date. Meanwhile, I haven't talked to the woman I've been pursuing yet. I got her cell #, but my timing's been off.

This series will be missed . . . at least until Jordan takes on folks without the smug alt-right persona. I'm happy none of the correspondents got their asses kicked. Hey, if you're having a bad day and you snap, it might take precious seconds to realize your punching bag is probably not an asshole, but merely plays one on TV. Is there an archive of the signs? I will miss those. Here were the last six, for the sake of posterity: "OPPOSE" "AT LEAST WE WEREN'T A BOOK" "DEMOCRACY DIES ON CABLE" "VOTE. REALLY. PLEASE VOTE." "RUSSIA FUNDED US THIS WHOLE TIME" "LUCKILY THE STABLE CC MEDIA PLAYER WILL KEEP THIS CONTENT ACCESSIBLE FOREVER"
