Question: if you see a helicopter in flight on an action-based show . . . it has to be attacked, right? First Gotham, now here. Well, at least the extraneous metas are put away . . . as opposed to last year, where DeVoe cherry-picked them for additional power. And now, a moment of silence for Bork. Bork could hurt you . . . but Cicada could hurt Bork, permanently. Anyone else feeling Nora is still a bit . . . .young-minded at her age? Watching her panic at not being able to walk was also hard, though that I could understand. I don't consider her a "reckless youth," but I think she relies a little too much on her speed. Hey, Snake got redeemed! Whatever. Still not liking the Caitlin/Frost dynamic, though Frost's scenes with Ralph were pretty good. Hey, Singh's still around! Good for him.

I want to go to there. "What's wrong, Kara?" "J'onn . . . Alex just told me she crushes on Supergirl." "And you have 'I want to die' running in a loop in your brain." "Yeah, I- . . . wait, I thought you couldn't read my mind." "Educated guess."

Hmph. I still think "Hell's Bells" makes better entrance music than "Enter Sandman." Well-deserved vote, and he earned 100 percent. On some level, I think I'm a little butthurt than Tom Seaver has gone from most popular pick to third after Mariano and Junior. On the bright side, nobody like Larry Jones that pisses me off. In other news, assholes get more votes than cheaters. Maybe there's hope for Schilling yet. "Meh" either way. ETA: "Mad Dog" is an acquired taste. His pairing with Mike Fransesa on WFAN was the stuff of legend. Well, if you were into sports and living in NYC.

How much longer is the Chimera arc? Too many episodes and too many fights to remember. Can we just skip to . . .

"I always told you I'd have your back!!" Booooooooooooooooooo. Honestly, Tobias isn't anywhere near the worst villain around, he makes a worthy antagonist to Black Lightning, but it feels like he had planned for that moment the instant Khalil got the implant. I figure if the average person can pull off a non-lethal Fatality, they'd do it. I think ripping a spinal implant out and dumping Khalil in the street would be inspired by Mortal Kombat. Masters of Disaster? Another old-school Outsiders reference. Still hoping Jefferson gets a major win soon. I know the series is about adversity and overcoming it, but the guy's gotten smacked around too often. And fooling rednecks into giving him a recharge doesn't count.

Hey, Oliver has a whole sister now! Because Emiko is his half-sister and Thea . . . fuck it, moving on. Seriously, any finale without Diaz really, really, REALLY dead is going to be a letdown. Still an ass, and now he's up to joining a suicide squad. Well, they won't call it that since the movie has been ridiculed. I can guess the ending: Emiko kills Diaz, but Team Arrow really needed Diaz alive for some reason (picturing Felicity with a car battery and nipple clamps), and then all hell breaks loose. Another Team Arrow Civil War, with Rene taking Emiko's side. And the stress and guilt will weigh on him so hard, he will grow ridiculous-looking hair. WOW. I can buy him being a mayor, but I can't take that wig seriously. Flashforwards are still vexing. I'm also thinking Felicity is alive . . . probably in a penthouse, on a balcony, wind blowing through her slightly-greyed hair, wondering where it all went wrong. Almost sad that Nora West-Allen's future is further away from 2019, because we could've had a future-based crossover. No, wait, that's a plot practically made for Legends of Tomorrow. Hi, Curtis! Do you ever talk to people, ever? I'm okay with him being a dork, but it's laid on too thick.

I think the reverse is true; she's a bitch until you befriend her. That's why it hurt her when Evan turned on her in Gauntlet III. I'm glad we've seen bare minimum from Bad Blood in The Challenge. Just a clusterfuck of a season, and castmates ranging from "meh" to "how has this person not been murdered yet?"

As easy as it is to heap love upon ANW (totally justified), I don't think it's a total knockoff. My take is that the backstories are a little more prevalent, and the emphasis is more on strength. Also, Dwayne clearly relishes his role as figurehead/god figure. Oh, wait, no, they don't call him that. No, it's "DJ." Since. Friggin' When?!? Can I call him "Deege" like I refer to TJ Lavin as "Teege" when watching The Challenge? TTG is a good way to kill an hour, and I can see how it would appeal to execs more than Spartan did. Yeah, you probably forgot about that show, didn't you? Sadly, there's more of a chance of an injury, like with that lady falling off the wall. Seeing someone writhe in agony isn't good TV, and spinning her as "courageous" for trooping through to the moment she was defeated wasn't much better. Slightly worse hell than poor Frank. He can knock a concrete ball down to size quickly, but he's probably still on the course, stuck on the rolling logs. Gotham takes priority, but I'll record TTG.

I haven't been poring through profiles lately. I did get a like today. I got excited, clicked the link . . . and the lady had two pictures and four words total. I did join a Meetup group in regards to doing local stuff. Minimum, it will give me things to look forward to (albeit just on weekends for me), and I'm not pressing to meet a special woman. I'm not going to get mad if that doesn't happen.

Me: I'm glad the Arrowverse is back! I've been getting by on The Gifted, and they do not give two shits about nuance. [one hour later] Me: WOW. Totally forgot about Supergirl. I mean . . . DAMN. Oh, for the day where all Kara needed was a wig and robot doubles hiding in hollowed-out trees. The idea that Supergirl would be "among us" seems dumb. Dumber would be seeing Alex be close with Supergirl, seeing Alex with her adopted sister, and not putting two and two together. I know . . . .it's stupid because WE know, and that glasses and a change in vocal inflection wouldn't be as effective in real life . . . or so we tell ourselves. Haley just comes off as a dumbass in additional to being a bitch. I mean, I get people not liking and/or being scared of aliens to the point where Agent Liberty would look good, but the writers basically drop anvils from the top of the Empire State Building. And she had to interrogate people to get that information. And now, because J'onn poked her mind (hey, the story got written into a corner, and it's not like they was some sort of plotdevicism in storage), she's using what might be a Starro to spread even more paranoia. Thinking about it, maybe Supergirl is the weak link of the Arrowverse. Or maybe I'm just mad Legends of Tomorrow isn't coming back right away. Brainy is still growing on me. I mean, the hair is somewhat copied from Cisco, and I'm convinced his vocal patterns are partially based off Barack Obama (dragging out the first syllable of a sentence), but he's an oddly lovable doofus. Trying to "hire" J'onn, suggesting costume ideas for Nia, accidentally forgetting Kara and Supergirl were the same person . . . Jesse Rath was on fire. During the first fight scene with the invisible aliens . . . when Red Shirt DEO Guy was on the hood of his own speeding car, was an alien basically driving it? Just a random observation. Also feeling bad for J'onn. Knowing this show, he'll probably be asked to alter minds some more until he snaps and quits the main gang. Alex volunteering? Curveball. Nice plot twist, but I don't think the degree of difficulty is worth it. I'm also amused only six grunts knew the secret. I thought everyone knew except for recent hires and temps. Oh, right, Other Supergirl is still around. Is this season 22 episodes long? I can see a dozen episodes being enough time to throw her in with Haley, Liberty and all the other crap . . . or we could be getting teased from 2019-20.

Wait, so they're filming stuff that probably wouldn't air until 2020? That's a little messed up. At least with SFX-influenced movies, you'd probably need the bulk of a year to work the CGI magic. As for the usual mess . ..Season 11 made me feel whelmed. Also, I still can't get how Daleks became so popular in the Sixties, especially since they were basically Blobby Space Nazis. @Last Time Lord . . . "The Happiness Patrol" was pretty good. Also, you get Kandy Man, a character that could only work on Doctor Who, and only the one story. Here's a sketch I got of him/it in 2012.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - General Discussion
Lantern7 replied to Meredith Quill's topic in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
This week: the boys engage in fraud to collect 5 million yen!* And then Shigekiyo shows how dangerous Harvest can be. Nothing quite says "fuck off" than getting stabbed in the eye, as Okuyashu discovered. While I still insist Josuke is a meathead (at least compared to the other Jojo's), he's pretty good at thinking on his feet. Then we got Okuyashu, who didn't think of "The Hand removing space" trick to catch up with Shigekiyo. And the little guy can be a bastard, but he's good with Harvest . . . especially as speedy transportation. Do you know when that started? Because I don't think that was the case back in 1999. Of course, our heroes would be dense enough not to look at the back of the ticket to see another person's name and phone number. And since this is Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, the banker was sinister and over-the-top as hell. Luckily, Crazy/Shining Diamond can apparently rearrange numbers and characters. Hey, why not? On the other hand, nice job remaining viewers that most people can't see Stands. *I don't know how to make the "yen" sign. Next week? -
"Destiny of the Daleks." She wound up looking like Astra from "The Armageddon Factor" and wore a pink version of the Doctor's outfit. I think the Doctor only regenerates at the brink of death (save for Two-to-Three). Some Time Lords probably do it willingly, I remember reading an article in DWM on the subject, and speculation as to why Borusa would insist on looking like "old duffers."

S44.E10: Rachel Brosnahan / Greta Van Fleet

I call it "keyboard dyslexia." I just had to joke about that. How many Democrat power playing ladies does Kate play? I liked her Pelosi and Warren. -

That should be a username. Like, by the end of tomorrow. And as much as the Gilly sketches got grief, I think "Little Orphan Ahole" would work as well. -
S44.E10: Rachel Brosnahan / Greta Van Fleet

I don't use subscription TV. I suck, don't I? I had to look up Rachel's name to discover she was THE Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. It probably doesn't help that I thought Alex Borstein's character was being played by Janeane Garafolo. Nothing cheers me up like dog-based humor . . . and dog-shaming is a good part of it. That includes one dog ratting out his friend. So replacing "dog" with "husband" was basically genius. Second time we've see the Barbie focus group, right? The bit with the Jacuzzi reminded me of this sketch from Robot Chicken. Kinda wish Pete had taken MTV to task about Made in Staten Island. Nothing like hearing your home being called "Mob Island" . . . in the fucking commercials. But Colin's quip about the parm in the wife-beater works. And I might have to watch The Mule one day. It sounds like Clint Eastwood has lost his damn mind. BTW, is John Mulaney doing anything these days that would need promotion and a guest host gig? I mean, nothing tops Le Miz Diner, but he's pretty funny. Name Change sketch was also funny. Is it odd or touching that Pete Davidson played a firefighter, which was his late father's job? Shit, that's my birth year. I could make fun of him staying at SNL for so long, but he is funny. And he's done more with his life than I have. Also, "yay" for importing familiar sounds from Press Your Luck. -
My Hero Academia - General Discussion

Kirishima and Sero see Bakugo’s new look. You almost feel bad for the hothead. Bombhead? Tsuyu is tstill so cute. Can you blame the spotted seal man for getting gushy? I will say that I think the name “Froppy” could only work in Japan. ETA Realization: Froppy was probably also destined to be a lawyer. Her name is “sue you,” after all. Aaaaaaaaand I’m shutting up now. -
For the hell of it, here are the undubbed opening credits. Needless to say, Funimation took a few liberties. ETA: Has anyone here seen the new DBS movie? Should I wait for it to come out on DVD?

The Characters of ANW: Love them or Hate them
Lantern7 replied to Ciarrai's topic in American Ninja Warrior
In case you didn't hear, Natalie Duran is doing/has done The Challenge: War of the Worlds, which debuts on MTV in a few weeks. "May God have mercy on her soul" is my first thought. Seriously, that ain't a place to find sunshine and happy endings. I don't think even Matt & Akbar doing play-by-play could improve it. -
In case you didn't hear, Karen "Mother" Pence is teaching art that bans the LGBTQ community. The Travis Project responded by sending 100 copies of A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo,

Lassie-type situation. Gotcha. Do you have an URL for the little actress? Oh, and I still expect her character to get killed, and maybe eaten. ”He vent villingly.” Damn, that had to hurt. 😆

USA vs. The World airs on January 27. Format is United States/Europe/Australia, and each team has two women. Barclay Stockett and Jesse Labreck will be running for the U.S., along with Najee Richardson, “Kid” Owhadi and team captain Drew Drechsel.
