  1. So we've now got Blegh Canary, Fakanary and Blackmail Canary? That pretty much sums up my feelings on her. I may have gotten up at 5 this morning so I could watch the episode before I went to college, but I'm not sure if the future episodes will get that much dedication. I was super glad that Diggle seemed to have a bigger role this episode, I loved his scenes with Lyla and the baby. Wasn't too happy that he conceded in the end to Oliver (though the hug was lovely.) Felicity was a babe, as usual. I'm super glad that we got some scenes with Ray, it's nice to see her role expanding. Also, may have been squealing during the Olicity scenes, they were really lovely and cute. However, I am glad that she walked away from Oliver when he was being a bit of a knob. Roy was barely in this episode, which is fine with me. I do hope they give him more to do besides look a bit broody though. The ending was absolutely awful. I really didn't believe it until I read the quotes from TPTB. I was totally preparing myself for it, but not yet. I'm not even the largest Sara fan, but I'm a bit pissed off with all the fridgeing in this show. I'm really not looking forward to the implications of this either.
  2. I agree that it's important that Diggle gets a lot more focus this season, I am really excited to see where they go, and any decisions that greatly or negatively impact his role on the team will affect my decision to continue watching or not. However, I disagree that Diggle's role was reduced due to the addition of Felicity. I think that because a lot of fan focus is on Felicity, Diggle does get sidelined in fan discussion, but I don't think that this is a reflection of what has actually happened on the show (and hopefully not of which direction it's going in.) As NumberCruncher said, Diggle certainly has a lot of backstory which has yet to be fully explored, there are also many different directions to take his character and we generally know a lot more about his motivations than we do about Felicity's. As a side note, I think that the trends are incredibly important. From what I've seen on tumblr, twitter trends seem to be a primary method of communication with the writes (within the Arrow fandom), so running such a successful twitter trend campaign means that the writers know that Diggle has a strong (and vocal) fanbase who will be watching, and keeping a keen eye on the importance of Diggle's role on the team (and whether or not this diminishes.)
  3. They don't put cucumber on tuna sandwiches in America? That's really weird... I would have gone, but the con is around exam time so...
  4. I'm just going to post something that I posted on tumblr a few weeks ago... I don't think that I've got double standards when it comes to Laurel. My biggest gripe with her is that she is so inconsistently written that she pretty much lacks any characterisation at all, and for the most part was used as a plot device as and when she was needed (in season 1 at least). Just as a note, I find that a lot of writers put a lot of effort into fleshing out and creating 3D male characters, over female characters. Surely if I'm not going to have double standards, I should expect that same level of effort put into my female characters, and be dissatisfied when I don't get it?
  5. Ra's was born in Arabia to Arabians (with Chinese ancestry). His name isn't the only part of him that's Arabian. GB was talking about how he wanted The Flash to be diverse, as the diversity in Arrow was successful. I can't find the exact interview but here's an article - http://www.broadcastingcable.com/blog/bc-beat/paleyfest-flash-s-berlanti-diversity-was-goal-show/133742 When you take an Arabian character and add that to a show that prides itself on it's diversity, a white actor does not add up. Edit: I just want to point out that that the biggest reason I am angry is because there was talk straight from the producers that diversity was important to them. If they hadn't spoken about it, I would still have been angry, but more in a 'of course they're going for the white guy' way. As it stands, they have pointed out a problem in Hollywood, patted themselves on the back for adding a couple of POC characters, and promptly ignored it when it suits them.
  6. She's Italian, German and Chinese. I've always thought she looks quite obviously mixed.
  7. At least in this one, the photoshop is not that obvious. And with no one to compare to, there won't be any complaints of disproportionate bodies. Still think it's a bit boring though. I feel like I'm looking at a season two poster.
  8. @dancingnancy This is my main gripe about the casting. The thing that most annoyed me though was that the EP's were (and I think still are) talking about how they were glad to make a diverse show and wanted Flash to be as diverse (despite the fact that they got rid of most POC at the end of season 1), and then they came out with a white guy for Ra's. I was wondering if they were even listening to themselves.
  9. I have to agree with you on the whole 'don't like, don't watch' thing. Just because I do not like one aspect of the show, or something an actor/writer has said, does not mean that I'm either going to 1) Stop watching the show completely, or 2) Ignore everything bad about the show and not talk anything but positively about it. It's my time and my energy that I have put into shows, and I am therefore the only person who knows what the threshold is for me not wanting to watch it. A comment by other people is not going to change that. Even if that person is a writer or an actor. I agree that SA can decide what is posted on his facebook account, but the way he referred to his fans annoyed me.
  10. I have to sort of disagree with her on that. I totally agree that hating on an actress is absolutely awful, and no person should be the subject of personal attacks, but surely people should be able to hate characters? Because they're not actual people with actual feelings, so by hating a character and vocalising your feelings, you're not really hurting anyone. I figure that as long as people don't attempt to attract the attention in any way of the actors/writers when vocalising these opinions, nor do they attempt to attract the attention of fans of those characters, it's just a discussion between a group of people (albeit a public discussion). I do commend her though. It probably takes a lot to be quite vocal on such a topic.
  11. Well that's absolutely awful... Why is Digg at the back?
  12. I don't know if I should put this here but... http://purecraziness.tumblr.com/ has uploaded the gagreel and deleted scenes onto mediafire, which means that you can download it if you want. The link is here - https://www.mediafire.com/folder/jo78h1yxzvods/Season_2
  13. http://aerynscrichton.tumblr.com/ That's the second person to own the DVD's. They've not uploaded anything beyond a few intriguing comments, but I think that they might be uploading the deleted scenes/bloopers soon (according to an ask to puzzledhats on tumblr.) Edit: Apparently http://purecraziness.tumblr.com/ shall be getting the DVD's tomorrow, so you should maybe keep an eye out for that.
  14. Here's a gifset (it's in B&W though) http://outlander-starz.tumblr.com/post/97483677461 Here are some stills http://geillisduncane.tumblr.com/post/97476774046/x I swear I saw a much clearer gifset earlier, but I can't seem to find it
  15. It's the fact that he licks his lips just before going in, and the little smile he had after he pulled away that got me. This next week is going to be painful.
  16. Personally, with Felicity's apartment, I didn't expect it to be really bright and colourful, but I did expect there to be some pops of colour. Like, the apartment seems fine as a base, but small things like maybe using a slightly brighter yellow, or painting one of her shelves. I do like her burgundy couch thing though. I think I'm going to reserve a full judgment until we get to see it in it's full glory though. I wonder where she keeps her technology...
  17. I watched 'A Princess for Christmas' today, and I was really surprised at my reaction to him in it. The pictures of Sam Heugan pre-outlander always kind of put me off him, but he still had the smoulder back in the day, so I was actually attracted to him (despite the awful haircut).
  18. People have been shipping real life couples for ages and ages. Even the media get involved a lot, they're the reason 'Brangelina' ever became a thing. I'm pretty sure during her Harry Potter days, Emma Watson got asked at least once during most of her interviews if she was secretly dating Rupert Grint or Daniel Radcliffe. People are invested in relationships, and have been since the dawn of time. That's why everyone wanted to see 'Kimye's' wedding pictures, and want to know if Selena and Justin are back on again. It's why a billion people tuned in to watch The Royal Wedding, and why you get excited to know that two of your mates are finally going out. It's so ingrained into our culture, that there is absolutely no basis to say it's exclusive to certain fandoms, or exclusive to teenage girls. That said, and with regards to 'Stemily', it's really unfortunate when people so obviously and loudly support a relationship that is the complete opposite of what's going on. It's harmful and will make people uncomfortable, naturally. The basis of Stemily (on other ships) comes from people belief that from a twitter account and a few interviews, people are able to see a person as a whole, which is just not true. I've never met Stephen Amell, but I have created this idea that he is a funny and generally very happy person, but I've no idea what he does when he gets home behind closed doors. And I think that's really important to remember, you will never know these people as whole individuals. I think that when people realise and understand that, they realise that the response to their shipping may not actually be the idea that they've created in their heads, and that will lead them tone it down and keep it hidden.
  19. According to TV Tropes there are 13 types of Triangles I think, if there were to be a love triangle, it would fall under number four (with Bob being Claire, and Claire being Jamie, and Alice being Dougal (sorry, it amused me)) That said, as long as they don't make a massive deal out of it, it would be fine with me.
  20. I'm quite curious about how they're going to age up Loaghaire. Nell Hudson does not look like she could pull off being in her thirties, so I wonder if they're going to cast a new actress. As much as I love Karen Gillan, I don't think she looks young enough to play Brianna.
  21. Jamie doesn't have a house, I'm pretty sure he sleeps in the stables, so if Loaghaire was to sprinkle horse dung on the threshold to the stables, it would make absolutely no difference whatsoever, because Jamie wouldn't notice it at all. I personally saw the scene as a continuation of Claire's matchmaking attempts from the previous episode. I think she was just being nice, and whilst wanting to make Loaghaire leave quickly was definitely a part of it, I think it was more Claire trying to uplift Loaghaire's spirits, especially as she could have just as easily said 'No, sorry, I don't have anything' without worrying about Loaghaires feelings as she was (supposed to be) leaving straight after. Wasn't Jamie not there for the trial? I'm pretty sure he only came in after people had already testified, when Claire was being beaten, and since they didn't really talk about it afterwards (In Voyager Claire states that Jamie didn't know that it was Loaghaire who sent her to Geillis's) I think that it would be quite believable for him still not to know, especially as they don't go back to Castle Leoch, and Jamie would have no reason to step into MacKenzie lands, so would have no reason to hear about the trial. (And I'm sure he wouldn't hear it off Loaghaire herself, and Colum and Dougal aren't really going to talk about the trial to Jamie)
  22. I really liked how they got Loaghaire to ask Claire for a potion. They're setting up the witch hunt really nicely, especially as they aren't going to do they child dying scene. Presumably Loaghaire is going to 'testify' against Claire, and this is some good set up for it, especially as it showed Claire's naivety when it comes to such matters. I also think that it will make a really interesting set up for after the wedding, it will give Loaghaire a more solid reason to hate Claire, presumably Loaghaire will believe that the 'potion' given to her will have actually been harmful to her attempts to seduce Jamie (as Claire wanted him for herself).
  23. According to This article from the guardian Iain believes that it was out of the fridge for longer than a minute
