  1. Missmerts latest, notice hoe they're Smoakin (and Felicity's T-Shirt)
  2. @Starfish This is Felicity's Piercing (and I really like the gif haha). It's basically a bar that goes through the top of her ear, through two holes. (I've got one). I think EBR said that the reason Felicity had the piercing was because in her first episode the director let EBR keep the piercing in (so it wasn't a direct character trait) @Tallis, It's not actually two separate pieces. It's just a squiggly line, like this (I got the picture off of Amazon).
  3. I have a question. I've just finished reading book 2, and I was wondering how Master Raymond healed Claire after she gave birth. Did he use techniques from the future or was it 'magic'?
  4. http://instagram.com/p/sP1Q2xnR67/?utm_source=partner&utm_medium=embed&utm_campaign=video&modal=true An instagram video of filming... Some people are speculating it's a dark haired Felicity in her younger years (as they're filming episode 5 now), but I'm not sure...
  5. I wasn't actually going to buy them, but they only cost 69p per issue, and if I'm getting more Felicity, why not eh?
  6. I agree with nine/ten being my favourite doctors, I can rewatch their episodes over and over again. I didn't think that season 5 was too bad, but 6 onwards was just a no go for me. Besides the aforementioned sexism etc, I found that Moffat's ideas were great in theory, but the execution was terrible, even characters like Amy and Eleven started off great, but by the end I was a bit sick. I shall be watching twelve though, Capaldi seems to know what he wants, and I quite like him. I've started reading Outlander (and watched the first two episodes) and it's really good. The story line is really unique, and really unpredictable. And Claire is an amazing well rounded character.
  7. So dearyunaxx did an edit of Felicity in costume, and I have to say, she looks really good.
  8. One of the reasons that I love Felicity is actually because she's not what I would normally expect in a 'Strong Female Character.' A lot of the times writers (usually male) will write the archetypal 'Strong Female Character' in an attempt to show how feminist they are, but these characters aren't really fleshed out. They become a mass of stereotypes (can physically 'kickass', usually intelligent in a non-nerdy way, gets along with the guys, is practically a guy in disguise...). All of the women end up being exactly the same character with a different face. Arrow does a really good job of avoiding this. I'd consider Moira, Felicity, Sara and Shado incredibly strong women. Throughout this season (and definitely next) we'll be watching Thea become strong both physically and emotionally. But none of these women are the same. They have broad links (they're all intelligent, Sara and Shado can physically fight, they're all brave), but these qualities are exhibited in such different ways that there is no mistaking any of the characters for the other (unlike other shows, which I may be bitter about.) Part of the reason I like Felicity is that I consider her to be really easy to identify with. Superficially, she's a nerd with an interest maths and computing, who is better at communicating through a screen than with her mouth. These are all traits that we both share, but other traits such as her braveness, her strong sense of morality, the fact that she can look Moira in the eye, are all aspirational traits. I both see myself in her and want to be more like her, and that's the reason she's become my favourite character, and I think that's how you make such a likable (to a lot) character.
  9. So missmert made a banner for Stephen Amell's youtube page, and it's super cute. You should go and like the comment on SA's facebook page (the comment is here) so he is more likely to see it, and choose it for his youtube page.
  10. I just saw this meme and I thought it was hilarious...
  11. I took her support of Diggle as dislike. I personally think that she stands on the same ground as Diggle but she's a lot more subtle about it. Her and Diggle are such good friends, I think that it makes sense with her to agree with him, especially because he was so hurt by Oliver's actions with regards to Laurel that he left the team, but that's just my interpretation of it.
  12. I cannot see the two of them as friends, and I don't really want to have to fast forward Felicity's scenes too. I can't see them being more than civil and polite to each other, and the idea that they'll be swapping stories about Oliver sickens me. It would just be another relationship on the show that surrounds Oliver. Women don't either have to hate each other, or be best friends, and I think if their relationship goes beyond anything but politeness it would be so out of character for both of them. Felicity doesn't like Laurel, Laurel doesn't like Felicity. Anything positive that comes out of Felicity's mouth will just feel like character propping, and anything positive that comes out of Laurels mouth will just feel like another attempt to re-write the character. If this does end up happening, it will probably be my reason for not watching the show.
  13. More fanart by the same person as above... Notice Oliver and Felicity's matching hats....
  14. This fanart really amused me :D Team Arrow go to the beach By missmert
  15. I agree that it was totally unnecessary. I'd understand them reblogging the post, but the tags were really harsh. I personally think that as they have already shown an Olicity bias, there was no need to mention that with regards to other ships. I think the reason the tags are controversial is because they brought in a variable that (IMO) has nothing to do with Laurel/Oliver. The fact that 'there is one women in [Oliver's] life' (i.e. Felicity) has nothing to do with the fact that in that scene Oliver and Laurel are having a blow out, so there was no point bringing it up. I'd understand if the tags were just 'Struggles in Lauliver-Land' and 'Sorry Laurel', then it would just be snarky comments about what's happening in the gifs. I think that the fact that they needed to add the extra line shows a lot about how they now perceive the relationship. And I think that perception is that it's over. @wonderwall I agree that the show has shown that there is not going to go there again. You don't spend an entire season pretty much ignoring the relationship between two characters and further splitting them up (Sara), just to get them back together again. (IMO) The only argument for their relationship is that it is 'canon' in the comics, and TPTB have shown that they wont always stick to the comics already.
  16. It was a reblog, so it wont appear in any of the tags anyway. As far as I'm aware, the cw arrow page follows some fan arrow blogs, and reblogs from them. The tagging is probably to help them organise the blog. The tumblr definitely has an Olicity/Felicity bias, every other post includes Olicity or Felicity. I'm pretty sure that those who follow the blog are very aware of this, so their followers probably don't include a lot of Lauriver/Laurel fans. Because of that, I really don't think that there was really a risk at all, the people who would have seen the tags first had would have most likely been Olicity shippers, and it would have been the screenshots that other fans would have seen. That said, if you're bored, I would scroll through the tumblr. For the most part, the tags on all of the posts are quite funny, and it seems that the people running the blog do have an understanding of the fans opinions.
  17. I'm loving Mama Smoak, I've not seen her in anything but she looks like she could do a really good job! I really do hope she makes a pass at Oliver (if she's in the present time), because that would be hilarious. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Smoak women. Of course we don't know much about her yet, so we don't know if we'll get a lot of funny banter, or a lot of tension. Either way, I'm looking forward to it :D Also, I have to say I'm quite disappointed with the lack of 'broke Oliver.' Even though that story line would have made no sense, I was really looking forward to watching Oliver learning to iron and wash his own clothes. It would have been really funny.
  18. @wonderwall The shipper bashing really annoys me too. It frustrates me because people will like different parts of a show, and they're allowed to like different parts of a show and only be invested in certain parts. Some people like the action, some people like specific characters, some people will like specific story lines and some people will be more invested in the romance of the show. There's nothing wrong with that, and it doesn't make you any less of a fan if you only watch for a specific reason. I think, rather than complaining about stuff like Olicity taking over the show, or Olicity fangirls (or fanboys) taking over every conversation, people should instead make conversation about what they do like (or really care about.) Rather than complaining about how people aren't talking about certain characters, and are instead focusing on Olicity, people should make their own conversations. Olicity fans are just passionate about Olicity, so that's what they'll talk about. That doesn't mean that the only thing other fans have to talk about is Olicity, they can talk about whatever they want and whatever they're passionate about. Stop complaining about people caring and having conversations that you don't care about, and instead be passionate about the things that you do care about, and talk about them.
  19. They were talking over on tumblr about how usually 'I love you' is used as a pay off in a romantic storyline, whereas the Arrow writers have subverted the trope to use it as a set up for the romantic relationship. Most love stories will have one half of a couple be aware of their feelings, or both aware of their feelings but unaware that it is reciprocated. It's a really strange situation to have them both aware of how they feel, and how the other feels without them doing anything about it. This, if treaded carefully, could create a very unique situation where we're both watching them fall in love, whilst knowing and understanding that there are very deep feelings already there. And, that's what I hope for Oliver and Felicity. As a side note, that sort of relationship is slightly reminiscent of Ten/Rose in Doctor Who. They were practically a couple, without being a couple, and that's what made the pay off at the end of Tennants run one of my favourite scenes in the history of TV ever.
  20. Actually, I have seen some Laurel fans who don't like Diggle. Apparently he's whiny because he was mad at Oliver for ditching him for Laurel (who is Oliver's childhood friend and ex-girlfriend), and he's also jealous of her.
  21. I think someone asked him why Isabel hated Felicity so much, and he replied that Isabel may not have had his full attention when he was 'with' her. I think that he meant to imply that he was thinking of Felicity at the time, as he had deeper feelings for her.
  22. This is slightly off topic, but does anyone else get really confused between Matt Bomer and Henry Cavill? R.E. Man of Steel. I don't know what it was about that movie, but I got really bored so I only watched about half of it. It just felt really grey.
  23. I consider Oliver a very nuanced character, and definitely someone who has the potential to grow into a very likable, heroic guy. For the most part, I think that Oliver doesn't become unlikable when he does stupid things, he becomes unlikable when he does stupid things and there aren't any consequences.
  24. I think that's the first time that I ever just saw Oliver as cute. I just want to pinch his cheeks and cuddle him! But it's so lovely to see a smile on Oliver's face for one, although that's not going to last long judging by the second picture.
