  1. April also implied that she feels some gratitude to Bam which plays into her doing so much for him. Does he support most of his family? Because April is obviously a good person who loves her son, I think she will seriously try to change herself, which in turn will be much healthier for her. What she would probably consider her behaving selfishly, would just be healthier boundaries.
  2. Sister Patterson seems to be mentally ill and like a really unhealthy influence in Tiffany's life. Tiffany needs to stay away from her. I actually now like doctor Jen. I thought the handwriting expert was unprofessional and let his ego get too involved in his interactions.
  3. True about the Mama Cass joke, but extremely common for the time period.

A lot of Donny's and the Osmond Brothers' albums were on MGM Records, a label which doesn't exist anymore. It might have been easier to get the permission to use it for the show.
  5. Christina has gotten better each season. I couldn't stand her the first couple of years but am rooting for her this year. She now seems to get along well with the guys and she holds her own on the pitches, which the other female coaches have not been able to do. I just don't buy that article. Christina usually seems to get along best with women (watching her and Miley together was amusing). And she's not good at hiding her dislike for people--which had never seemed to be the case with Blake or Gwen. I guess we'll see if her attitude has changed towards Blake in the lives. As for Gwen, I thought she did a great job coaching her first year and a poor job as a coach her second. And as much as it pains me to say it, on both a gender and a Bush-bias basis, the big difference was probably that Gavin was out of the picture.
  6. I guess we should be happy J-Lo's not doing the Bowie tribute...

The EAB scene was truly great. The stairs at The Hotel Chelea were basically like that. The idea of a transgender resident screaming at the child about throwing the cat down the stairs, while his socialite mother is more concerned about how she can make "art," was funny in it's own twisted way. Having a satanic curse put on the record company office while a John Denver song played in the background was hysterical. I want to like this show. And there are moments that I do. And then it gets painful again.
  8. Yes, the final credits said they were definitely supposed to be the Pink Fairies.
  9. 1. Someone asked if couples therapy was like this. I only watched the last season, and that wasn't as obnoxious as this, because the couples on the show mostly seemed to genuinely want to improve their relationships. So while there was stupid volatility, they also showed growth. These aren't couples who are in love with each other and With sister Patterson and Michael Lohann in that house it's really hard for the others to make improvements. 2. I wasn't familiar with Bam before this show but have looked at old photos and videos in the last couple of days. He barely looks like the same person. You can see how much alcohol is in his system just looking at him. Very sad.
  10. I like everything about the show but the murder plot line. It doesn't feel organic to the show.
  11. I really hope Sister Pattetson and Michael Lohann are at least partly acting for the camera. If they're really like this in real life it's no wonder their kids got so screwed up. I feel particularly sorry for Tiffany having to always manage her volatile mom and the situation around her, while hoping to get some help.
  12. The car crash was a flashback to earlier in the characters' lives. This was illustrated by the hairdos and makeup, which we'd seen in earlier flashbacks. The point of it was that it's been haunting Richie. Unfortunately, they did this with the heavy handed ghost of Ernst actually haunting him.
  13. Graham, Big Star, the NY Dolls, The Velvet Underground. If you are an idolized performer who didn't sell records, Richie and this show will cross paths with you! The Elvis hotel room scene was pretty good but felt somewhat fan fictiony but the airplane heart to heart between Richie and Zack was actually quite good. I enjoyed the fact that Ernst the Unfriendly Ghost wasn't there this week. And Richie not snorting coke was more appealing. Initially. Why is this show so unlikable, and yet why do I keep watching it?
  14. Those two sisters from the pregnancy show haven't even gotten any screen time or been mentioned in these threads. If I were them I'd duck and cover under the bed while Sister Patterson and the Lohanns were around. Bam needs rehab, serious anti-depressants and real therapy off-camera. His mom needs alanon. They shouldn't be here.
  15. I don't like the gun story. It feels forced. I like the rest.
  16. Am I the only one who finds anointed Alisan super annoying? Like fingers on a blackboard?
  17. That's the creator of the show. He also created Boardwalk Empire and was a Sopranos writer.
  18. I'm completely shocked by how much I enjoyed P Diddy's coaching!
  19. We almost got to see a Vinyl world Iggy, but coked out Ritchie and Ernst the Unfriendly Ghost got into a fight, and got blocked from Max's, so we never got the chance. I'd say that was the worst part of an awful episode, except that any time Devin is onscreen the story almost drags to a halt.
  20. Wow, I'm kind of stunned that you're all so appalled by this. The very first episode of House of Cards starts out with Frank killing a dog with his bare hands. The writers basically announced to the viewers, "this show is not for the faint of heart." So having this season start with one prisoner verbally getting another off sexually, didn't seem like all that much to me. No murder. No nudity. No actual sex. And it was justified plot wise, in that it made the other character trust him with information a few scenes later. My own prudeness came up during this week's project runway episode, where the designers had to dress nudists, who kept prancing around naked (they were pixilated). It seemed super awkward and I kept feeling sorry for the designers.
  21. The show is supposed to take place in 73. Right be for punk and rap appeared. I never met Alice Cooper, but have heard nothing but lovely things about him from people who worked with him or knew him. The actor who played him really nailed him.
  22. Wait, didn't Ellie have a fiancé. she was in a band with, who was the only one who understood her in her little town??? What is the story here?
