  1. I always try to guess which couples stayed together based on their behavior on this after show. Alexis struck me as a no. Lindy seems like she’s trying to hide that she’s a no. And shockingly, Stacia seems like she’s still smitten. What was everyone else’s take?
  2. Okay, I’m going to go on a rant, and apologies if you loved the clothing on this episode, but I was yelling at the tv during the gown and tux shopping scenes. I thought so much of it looked awful. (And some of that must be blamed on the brides’ and grooms’ choices…) The netting over the cleavage and bra pads under the lace looks were awful. As said above, if you want to show your cleavage, that’s fine, but why the netting? Are you protecting your breasts from mosquitos? For me It just ruins the elegance of the line. And what’s with these ascot- inspired neck ties with pins? Is that now a big thing? I’m not usually a very superficial person about looks, but I’d be like “sorry, groom, but I just can’t marry you in that tie.” On the second season of the show the grooms went to the tailor Martin Greenfield in nyc, who has made custom suits for almost every US president since Eisenhower and who did the gorgeous suits for the costume depts of shows like Boardwalk Empire. But some of this season’s tuxedos look flammable. ETA: I just reread my post. I realize that I now officially sound like an old lady on a park bench who is yelling and waving her cane at people.
  3. Noi basically forced Steve to sleep with her dog Sushi. Something he didn’t want to do, but he gave in on it to make her happy. But despite begging her multiple times not to publicly bitch about him on social media (before even taking her complaints to him), she refused to stop. It has been obvious Noi wasn’t into this relationship. On decision day and in their later appearances as a couple, she’s had a sour look on her face. And still refused to move in with him. Do they get a bonus for saying yes on decision day?
  4. That photo makes me realize that we’ve never actually seen Chris having fun before!
  5. Can we talk about the preview with Chris and possibly Alyssa’s new romances? Whoa…!
  6. Thoughts: Looking at body language and expressions-Jasmina and Michael seemed more in synch than Noi and Steve. Noi looked pissy the whole time. Was this directed at Steve or was she upset about something else? Who knows, but she didn’t act like she liked him very much. Noi’s sibling is “an Internet star”? — on what internet? Surely not this one. If Alyssa really wanted to do damage control, she should have said “the experts specifically didn’t give me the kind of person we discussed, I felt like we were just paired for drama, so I panicked and shut down. Looking back at it now, I WAS WRONG and really regret how I handled it and I’ve learned from it. Chris I am sorry.” Kind of like Olijawon did. It’s the only thing that would have bought her any grace. And speaking of Olijawon, do we buy his new transformation? I just don’t know. And is Katina really a “strong woman” or a passive one? The jury is still out on that too. Lindsey: given the option of getting a spouse like Lindsey or one like Alyssa, Chris got the better deal. He barely had to interact with her. Lindsey was repeatedly verbally abusive to Mark. And why wasn’t her drinking brought up?
  7. 1. Great to see Chris again. He’s funny, intelligent, ambitious, a caring friend and sane. Probably the best potential spouse of either gender this season. Hopefully being on this show will lead him to find someone who appreciates him. Or at least help his real estate business. 2.Lindsay definitely sees herself as more sophisticated than Mark. She does seem more worldly, but taking in her behavior toward others, “sophisticated” is a stretch. From what we’ve seen, she has seen more of the world (which she’s bragged about), lives in a more expensive neighborhood. Seems to have had jobs that require more education, and isn’t afraid to step out of her comfort zone and try different things, like eating sushi…So I think that one of her issues with Mark, which she’s trying to ignore, is that socio-economically she thinks she’s married below her usual level. And that sometimes comes out when she feels he doesn’t appreciate her enough. * (this is my take on Lindsey’s thought process). Not me dumping on Mark. 3. Re: datingAppGate—We saw a shot of olijawon looking at a white phone on the shuttle ride, which was supposedly Katina’s. But later we saw that her phone is black and his is white.
  8. I’m stunned Steven actually found a real relationship from this. I figured he was just in it for the run of the show. Kurt had so much trouble dealing with being on the show that I am not surprised He’s fully single now.
  9. Midge played the strip club because Joan Rivers played strip clubs (as “Pepper January”). The show gets a lot of inspiration from Joan. Joan’s big career breakthrough came when she went on Carson and killed. Johnny Carson’s liking her and saying she was going to be a star carried weight back then that no talk show appearance today can come close to. It completly changed her life. I’m assuming the end of this episode, with the building sign from the talk show is hinting at something similar next season for Midge. Any scene with Lenny is incredible. They just elevate the series to another level. Luke Kirby is spectacular! is next season really the last one?
  10. Why was Shane so fidgety and shaky during the reunion? We’ve seen him hyperactive, but this seemed like there was something more.
  11. Early in her standup career, Joan Rivers emceed at strip clubs under the name “Pepper January.” Putting Midge at a burlesque show is definitely a nod to that. Luke Kirby, who plays Lenny Bruce, plays one of the Dads on the new Gossip Girl. He’s good, but it’s obviously not as magical as his Lenny. When they first showed him in the club this season greeting Midge, I cheered outloud. I’m getting tired of all the parental stuff, but I can never get enough of the Lenny Bruce scenes.
  12. I also noticed the LARGE price tag on the back of the decorative object on Steven’s table. Is that really his home or a site they dressed to look like a country home? The Rolex watches all looked the same. My guess is they were fakes brought out just for that scene. I’m thinking the raccoon might have been staged too.
  13. I’m so intrigued that most people on these boards seem to be rooting for Shayne and Natalie, because every time I see him all I can think is “run Natalie!” She seems great, and I really liked that she brought his lovely Mom along dress “shopping.” But -based on the edited version we’ve seen of him- he seems like he could cause her a whole lot of misery. When Shaina’s brother said the “American” line to Kyle, it really jumped out to me that with our country currently so politically divided, differing politics is probably now more of a problematic issue for some potential couples than other possible differences, like religion or race. Certainly more than it used to be.
  14. I suspect in Shake’s mind he has long desexualized Indian women. Perhaps it’s sort of similar to a Madonna/whore complex. There’s his mom and aunties and then there are the “other” women, whom for years have been his vision of what constitutes “hot.” And now he’s torn because he knows she’s perfect for him. PERFECT. And Although I think Shayne is bad news as a fiancé, in this case he’s right. They need to start being sexual. Because either he’ll get over his issues, or he won’t.
  15. The bottom line is that this isn’t season three. We all know what happens when the jury isn’t sequestered and it should impact players in-house behavior. Outplaying someone strategically can earn you their respect. Bullying and insulting someone makes it personal and is enough to make them vote against you, no matter what, if you make it to the final two. (***Paul!***) Todrick thinks he’s a great player, but he’s not. Putting aside that he has won less comps than Carson, his “jury” management is some of the worst we’ve seen in years. Some people have left the house hating him for making personal attacks. Others may have their views changed dramatically once they get out and learn more of what happened. Lamar seems like he can’t stand him already. And this is Celeb Big Brother, where the celebs may not want to vote for someone whom much of BB Twitter is hating. And Cynthia and Carson are making Marcellas look savvy.
  16. I don’t care whether Alyssa is a 1, 6 or 10 (and giving people ranked numbers on their appearance is really demeaning). And if someone goes on the show and is completely turned off by their match to the point where they feel it won’t work, I can understand that. The issue for me with Alyssa is that from what we’ve repeatedly seen, she is really nasty, selfish and cruel about it.
  17. On the episode with the wedding dress shopping and bachelorette parties, as I recall, Lindsey was drinking alcohol in every single scene. If I remember that incorrectly, then it was almost every scene.
  18. I totally believe Myrla. I always took issue with the way Gil was constantly criticizing her on the show. Ironically, as it now turns out, for her love of designer clothes and the way she handled money.
  19. After watching the show and the after-show (a must watch this week! —good job Keisha!), my take on the airplane fight we didn’t get to see is that Lindsey was in her larger than life mode, which she does when she needs attention (most of the time) or is under stress. She was loud, possibly drinking, and verbally poking, prodding and annoying everyone around her with her obnoxious behavior on the plane. She pushed Olijawon too far with her repeated rudeness (which she probably thought was entertaining) and he couldn’t take it anymore and told her off, sending Lindsey into combative mode (she supposedly -according to the after show- tried to get him to fight her at the airport), which understandably brought Katina into things, escalating it even further. Lindsey, who can dish out a lot, seems like she actually can’t take very much back, and went into melt down, leaving poor Mark to clean up her mess. (He was really impressive.) And probably not for the last time… poor Mark. The shark looks shellshocked whenever she is discussed on the aftershow. So far my takeaway from the show is that Chris and Mark are going to have a fair number of women interested in them after this. (And Chris is going to get a some new real estate clients). Alyssa could have tried to begin redeeming her behavior on the aftershow, but she made things worse. During the casting show, I loathed Olijuwan and thought his relationship would inevitably be a complete disaster. But now that I’ve seen more of him, and judging by their behavior on the aftershow, he and Katina seem to still really like each other, so I’m curious to see how their relationship develops. So far they seem to not only be attracted to each other, but also to both be trying to focus on the positives and not dwell on negatives in each other. Someone above said that Jasmina seems to be repeatedly looking to find faults with Michael. It does seem like that. It’s ironic in that she’s complaining that he’s too negative.
  20. Keisha was great — respectful but strong. And of course Alyssa walked. But Oy, poor Mark. He’s been married for less than two days and is already having to do referee fights and do damage control for Lindsey.
  21. They must want people on who were prominently featured on the episode it was covering. Which let out two of the five couples, whose weddings we haven’t seen yet. Why the two other grooms weren’t featured yet, I have no idea.
  22. I rewatched the promo for the upcoming season. It looks like all the post-wedding footage of Chris and Alyssa might come from the honeymoon. But there are definitely no decision day shots of them whatsoever…
  23. The experts should leave the show - if it takes them all marrying former cast mates, like the last “expert” to leave the show, so be it.
  24. No, you’re in the right place. Lindsey was on the first after-show episode. This is the thread for the second one, which Lindsey wasn’t on. But quite honestly, she was so overwhelming on the first episode, that it was almost like she was still there!
  25. The interesting thing about watching this episode was trying to gage whether the couples are still married by how they discussed their new spouses (since this was taped after the whole series had finished filming). Shockingly, Katina seemed pretty hot for Olajuwon. She seemed to enjoy watching their wedding clips, and didn’t exhibit any annoyance at the bachelor party/stripper clip. Mark acted uncomfortable the whole time- very un-mark the shark-like— and watched the clips and spoke like he was kind of trying to hide his distaste for Lindsey and her behavior, without actually having to lie. Jasamina was the hardest to gage. She seemed to like Michael, but wasn’t giving too much away.
