  1. I do have to say that comparing the casts of Survivor and TAR - - because how can you not do that since the shows follow one another? Anyway, Survivors cast is an embarrassment to show fans everywhere. I may not watch it any more out of sheer boredom. On the other hand I may watch it once or twice more out of sheer disbelief. What a huge casting foul up.
  2. I thought that he was the guy blown off the stairs with the clothes on his back on fire. That should have gotten him a trip to the hospital prior to any cops talking to him.
  3. Excellent episode. So glad to see the show is back.
  4. Didn't someone once claim that Shakespeare had written all plots for stories? Not being a Shakespeare scholar, I have no idea if it's true, but what the heck, let's see what this show makes of the usual urban crime scenario.
  5. It's the pilot so lots of plot points to introduce and lots of characters to begin to get established. I have great hopes for this one just based on the star whom I have always liked. we will see if it can come up to Will Trent standards by the end of its first season.
  6. My local PBS station is running the first 11 seasons - basically the Troy years. Some seasons only had 3 shows so 11 seasons does not add up to much. At any rate, I have now seen those reruns so often I can repeat dialogue - - kidding. I am really sick of them and would Love to see other seasons in reruns. the answer I got from local PBS was that those seasons are 'free'. I would LOVE reruns of the 'new' Barnaby years.
  7. OOPS, my bad. My post referred to a show titled Celebrity Home Makeover. I apologize to everyone
  8. The show is on CBS. I stumbled on it and completely enjoyed it as the guest celeb was PHIL! It appears the Rob is running the construction crew for the season. Not sure if it is his crew or he is just the celeb head.
  9. I had begun to get a bit bored with Doc Martin at the end of the original run. I am now completely bored and won't bother watching till the end. Just one gal's opinion.
  10. Just finished season 10 and I found many things to like...Brenda and Insp. Sullivan being the two that made the show fresher for me. That said, I am really sick of the way they keep banging Sgt. Goodfellow around. I really like the character and do not want him to leave, but the way they showed him deserving of the Insp. job and then HAVING the job for ONE DAY???!!!???? Left a very bad taste in my mouth.
  11. Thank you all for the medical clarifications. Also many thanks for the list of cuts. They really helped for this episode as already noted. One small observation re: the wedding dress. I was in 4 weddings in the later 1960's - 1965-1969. Every bride wore a similar dress. Granted this was in the US, but I do think a smaller skirt and a plainer material were the norm - at least in my memory. Also Trixie's style of neckline was very common. Not a lot of lace back in my day and in my neck of the woods (upper midwest).
  12. there are many parts of each epi that the actors really connect in. The plots sure are weak. The shooting scene reminded me of every epi of The A Team - always a huge gun battle with only the 'bad' guys getting hurt/killed. In spite of the fact that the A Team is outmanned and outgunned. They played it for laughs and I guess I have to take it that way in True Lies. Most of the premise is really silly anyway - a husband and wife team, with kids no less, paired up on 'dangerous missions'. The acting makes it work, sort of. The scripts are silly of course. Still, I watch.
  13. OMG. I think you have hit on it. I loved the original Night Court and was profoundly disappointed in the reboot primarily due to over the top loud laughter (where often none was needed) and quick monotone delivery. It seems we have identified a deliberate ploy by someone for some unknown reason. :)
  14. I have loved this show from the first episode, strong acting and writing. Great tv. I had one issue this week with Amanda. I am not hard of hearing, I heard her voice just fine, but I swear I missed 90% of her exposition. Her speeches seemed mumbled to me as well as being spoken in a monotone and very, very quickly. I don't know what was wrong. Does anyone know if the show is being rerun on one of the streaming networks? Hulu maybe? I need to rewatch.
  15. than you all. I did not realize that it is all up to my local station. Time for a stern email ( yea I am old🙂)!
  16. Good grief, last night's show on PBS was S. 1, epi 1.🤔 Since the first 10 seasons are being shown all over television, I could recite the dialogue. Also, I really dislike Troy. I know there are seasons after season 17, but do not understand why we aren't seeing those. Has British TV cut PBS off?
  17. WIth some new or semi new characters it's almost like a new show☺️ Am enjoying the changes as I really disliked the previous detective
  18. anyone know when PBS will get new episodes? I am REALLY sick of the reruns
  19. Brooke really seems like an amazing person to have come to terms with the crap that happened to her - including the adult rape by the unnamed 'executive'. She has dealt with so very much in her life it was a true joy to see the end with a loving husband and normal teenage daughters. I am in awe of her strength. I also think the childhood 'beauty' pagents are much the same as the entertainment industry in terms of sexualizing young girls. I find them disgusting and have always wondered why they continue.
  20. I do agree that Zach's final story was a bit weird, but in fairness, the actor had a number of issues and needed (and requested) to be off the show. I think they treated him well by crafting a story that highlighted him and even brought him back for a couple of epis at the end of the series. The show runners did the right thing for the actor. The entire Pelant story line would have been ok if they had wrapped it up after 2 epis instead of dragging the thing out. The story itself is just not that compelling.
  21. Absolutely great TV. This season was a story that absolutely needed to be told! The set up for next season (fingers crossed) is excellent. Another story that needs telling again and again. We NEED responsible daily newspapers. THey seem to be the only reliable sources of information. I read more than one as I do want different slants, but that's just me. Hoping we all reconvene for another season.
  22. Ugh, so sad to see Lucille go. I do understand when the actors have other offers and ambitions, so am happy for the actor. I do hope they can find stories for Cyril as I always liked him as well. Great loss for the show. To clarify, the actor has confirmed that she will no longer be on the show.
  23. Since the writing in this episode seemed 'off' to me, has the show changed showrunners, writers or... ???? If they don't seem to be able to pull it together, as it were, AND Lucille and Cyril leave......I may have to put the show on the back burner. Never thought I would feel this way about the show.
