  1. This series is so well done on every level!!!!! It is truly hard to believe that any company can get away with treating people like this. Part of me still tries to believe this is fiction. BRAVO to the real Mr. Bates for his sheer determination and calm. The documentary should be interesting.
  2. All in on the worry about Uncle Antonio........and praying I am wrong.
  3. After the double episode this week, this will probably not be must see tv for me. I really like the lead actor and if I stay with it it would be for her performances. Am hoping the writers can do something to soften the 'tics' or tone them down a bit.
  4. I agree with most of the comments above. that said, this core group of actors is soooooo damn GOOD! I actually watch the show instead of reading and checking in sometimes. The actor playing the rapist was so menacing that I was actually afraid - - and I haven't felt threatened by a tv/movie bad guy in many, many years. It would be lovely if the writers and showrunners could come up with story lines that are a bit more cohesive? Believable? I wonder if the horrors of the books are in the way and they are trying to write/create new story lines without quite succeeding.
  5. I am really going to miss the actor and the character of the Duke. I hope her new assistant stays as he adds a new dimension to the story. But I sure will miss the Duke.
  6. Thank you so much Irlandesa So simple and logical when one has the code!!! 😉
  7. Sorry, but I really have to ask. What does Copaganda mean? 🤔
  8. Reporting from Milwaukee: There are both k-8 and K-6, middle school and HS situations. Pick your poison. My great niece is graduating from 8th grade at a K-8 Montessori school (city school) and moving on to a widely praised city HS. Every place is different and tries to meet their needs as they arise. Public education is being attacked everywhere and I am really tired of 'civilians (non parents, non educators) trying to demand no books, or bigger classes (save $) or, or, or. All I want is the kids to grow up able to read, write, perform basic math (w/o a computer), know the history of this country and an introduction to other countries and last, but by no means least, HOW THE GOVERNMENT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK aka CIVICS! Not too much to ask for 12 yrs of school. Keep religion for church and home.
  9. I actually thought that Barbara's reaction was ok. All of us have had moments where we just got "stuck" in one spot and needed to get unstuck. Barbara has her ways, she is a senior teacher and is used to a certain respect because of her experience. I can see that the experiment needed Barbara on board. She is experienced and respected and if she wrote a scathing review, the district might have had second thoughts. Meanwhile, it is a pretty neat idea so that schools have functioning libraries and the seniors in Library Science get some real life experience. I call that a win - win. OMG, Jacob and Melissa - comedy gold!!!!!!!!! And Mr. Johnson - priceless.
  10. I wondered about location until I focused on a few of the scenic city shots. Vancouver all the way. I do really like this show and the 2 leads are terrific whether playing with one another or in scenes where they are alone. Hoping it stays on for a couple of seasons.
  11. Dr. Pete and the cake was so unexpected that I laughed out loud when he made them toss theirs and get on with the case. Great moment That scene alone made up for the Ormwood bits. I don't mind a B plot, but the home life "drama" has got to go. Angie and Orm can go on solving.
  12. I do like that the show is showing different sides of their main characters each week. Helps keep me involved instead of predicting the stereotype.
  13. The first time I saw 'Tall' Mark I laughed out loud. What a transformation. The first season of the show Mark is shorter than Fox and now he is many inches taller. I remember those days well. I wound up being tall for a girl, so I always stayed standing at mixers so a short boy wouldn't ask me to dance. I told everyone I didn't want to embarrass the boy.....but it was really all about me. Can be a tough time of life for sure.
  14. I'm so old I never knew that 2 spaces were out after a period! Turns out the comments are educational as well as opinion oriented. PS I will continue to double space after a period. I'm too old to change. And the computer will do whatever it wants.
  15. AND>>>>>>>(drum roll) We are a quartet cinsays - - - the kazoo is all yours I really think the young actor playing Mark is doing a great job. Being a kid is hard and often confusing and he portrays that perfectly.
  16. Will, Faith and Amanda are the heart and soul of the show. And Nico and Betty are the faithful sidekicks. And much needed joy. That said, let us not forget Angie's horrific history. I think the true tragedy here is that she is resisting help for herself and doesn't seem to have anyone who is in her corner. Yes Will is, but he is so much healthier that she. He is able to look out for others and really seems to yearn for a healthy connection for himself. She is ignoring everything and should not be on the force to begin with. Sometimes I feel that he is on an island watching others be happy and has no idea how he can get there as well. Angie and Will don't belong together and I am hoping the showrunners don't go there. Yikes, I just had a flashback to the book The Heart Is the Lonely Hunter, a beautiful but devasting read.
  17. Have always liked Jason Priestly so this was a fun watch! I am really growing to like this show enough to make it 'must see tv' While I do think Max is "too much" sometimes (just my reaction), I still am liking the blend of characters and the actors seem to mesh well. This was a really nice epi.
  18. And now we are a trio!!! I am aiming for a College marching band!!!
  19. I'm here too, so that makes a duet😁 I very much enjoy the show. This epis emphasis on getting along with your siblings was right on target. One of the great joys of my adult life was the friendship of my brothers. Noone would have predicted that I bet. I really am sorry that it seems to be slipping past the US viewing public.
  20. So enjoying this show.....glad I stuck with it.
  21. This show used to be 'must see tv'. This season seemed to be a bit of a snore until the last few epis. I was really confused that Eliza was mad at the Duke. Hell he told her he was leaving because he loved her. She didn't respond. It was weird that she and Nash didn't form the partnership, let her run the business while he is in jail and then they can proceed. It feels as if the showrunners and the writers didn't quite know what to do this season. Sort of like they were caught by surprise when there was a 4th season.... I have really enjoyed the show in the past, but this season felt disjointed. I guess we will have to wait and see.
  22. jcbrown - you make some good points. I hadn't really thought about the bombing in that way. I think you are correct, a flashback does reduce/eliminate a good deal of emotional commitment. So many comments reveal that the show is clearly lacking that 'something' that engages the audience. I say writing, but it could be something else. I am in it for JLM and now the actor playing his sister - the actor is very good in the role.
  23. Unless I am dreaming (entirely possible), I think they showed the bombing. However I believe it was a flashback sequence. Anyway it would be in one of the early episodes.
  24. Oh good gravy. I 100% agree with everyone about the needed changes! GET NEW WRITERS AND A NEW SHOWRUNNER!
  25. The Fox story line is really turning bittersweet. I do appreciate the storyline as her imperfect family struggles and she tries to fill in when she can. I smile every time she intimidates her brothers - - - I never had that power, they just kept doing whatever...... I really do love this show.
