Milestone Moments: All The Celebrity Vitals
Browncoat replied to OtterMommy's topic in Everything Else TV
Oh, such a sad day! Donald Sutherland was so good in every role he played, from Hawkeye to the stoned professor, to the deliciously evil President Snow. The expression on his face as Katniss nocked her arrow was great face acting. Just perfect. Oh, sir, you will be missed. RIP.- 3.5k replies

It took me a second to get past instruments for FJ, but the light bulb finally went on and I got it in plenty of time to write it down. I also got the TS of rope-a-dope, Linus Pauling (fun fact -- he gave a lecture to my Biochemistry class when I was in grad school), beluga, and Bounty. I have never watched Survivor, and I don't even pay attention to the commercials for it, so I had no idea who Drew was. But I was rooting for the now-former champ.

Ooh, I like the green-black-green.

Give me all the snakes! Y'all can have the spiders.

I thought about the green with black, but in the photo above, the green looks kind of dark. I'm not sure it would give a nice pop of color against the black. I like the orange with the black.

The first thing to do with binoculars is make sure the eyepieces are the correct distance apart. Your binoculars should be adjustable -- look through both sides and "fold" them until you only see one image. One that's done, focus should be fairly easy if your set has a focus wheel in the middle. I still sometimes turn it the wrong way, but it's quick enough to turn it back. Steadiness I can't help with -- your best bet is to brace your arms on something solid. There are other adjustments, but those are the basics.

I also thought they wanted both cities for FJ. Not that it mattered, since I didn't come up with either one. I did get the TS of cam, Suzanne Collins, stigma, Diamond Head, and Antwerp. I was kind of rooting for Mark and his fabulous hair. I really thought Colleen had a chance, though.

My high school used the tune from Notre Dame's fight song.

It was probably a Song Sparrow. They seem to be the favorite targets of cowbirds. The starlings where I am weren't deterred by my taking down the feeder! I think they were keeping watch until I put it back up. They're also exotic invasives in the US, although I've heard they're on the decline in the UK.
-
Yes, and they usually have really good deals, and a long line at the drive-through. I've never eaten there, so I have no idea if the food is decent. I talk to them, too, nicely to most of them, but I have been known to curse at the starlings and brown-headed cowbirds.
-
I couldn't come up with any movies with names in them, either, but it was so obvious when the correct response was revealed! But I got the TS of On Wisconsin, mezuzah, real glockenspiel (although if I'd had to spell that, I would have been in trouble), Joiners, and dialysis.

Her expression, to me, reads, "Can you believe they're making me wear this thing?" -

I get those, and I don't even have a PayPal account! -
How about with the silver/grey between the pink and red?

Curating by altering or hiding parts is still curating.

Affirmative action kept me from a perfect week -- 4/5 this week.

I did not get FJ tonight. But I did get the TS of Pensacola & St. Augustine, apparatchik (no idea how I pulled that out of my brain), salud, ticks, and Angus.
-
She kind of did, though, with the new ones. In this one, she wanted Riley to be happy and not experience anxiety, embarrassment or ennui (who was awesome, incidentally). In the first one, she didn't want Riley to be sad. And she was still curating memories, just like she did in the first one.

"I've been giving myself electroshock treatments." "Up the voltage."

Real Genius is brilliant.

I saw it this afternoon, because, as we all know, I am Pixar's bitch, and will see any of their movies on opening weekend if possible. I liked it. They perfectly captured an anxiety attack, and how fraught that transition between middle school and high school can be. But Joy keeps needing to learn the same lesson -- Riley needs all the emotions, not just Joy. I did keep thinking about poor Bing Bong, though. Incidentally, stay until the very end of the credits -- you find out what the deep dark secret is!

I saw A Clockwork Orange twice, back in my college years. I was a little on the drunk side the second time. It's an amazing film. The story/premise is really good. The violence is over-the-top, almost cartoony in a Quentin Tarantino sort of way -- I suspect Tarantino got at least some inspiration from the film.
-
One of my favorite movies, and I don't generally like westerns! I suspect the cast has a lot to do with why I love it so much (who expects John Cleese in a western?), but the story is good, too. I love this song, too, although I think it kind of drags a bit after the lyrics finish. Goes on too long.

Instaget FJ for me tonight. It probably helps that I read a brief interview with Malcolm McDowell recently, wherein he spoke about that last chapter. I also got the TS of St. Joseph, St. Louis, Fortunate Son, and Rumsfeld. I almost had comic strip -- I said it at the same time Ken did.
