Oops, my bad. I remembered it as an Amblin production, which was not Disney. Although, I just learned that Amblin did work with Disney. My apologies!
-
"Who Framed Roger Rabbit" wasn't Disney. It might be among the horniest animated movies (Ralph Bakshi's "Wizards" and of course "Fritz the Cat" are way hornier, and also not Disney), but it's not a horny Disney movie.

I did not get FJ again tonight. I said polyester. The only TS I got were wallpaper, Pumping Iron, The Blue Boy, and Howard's End.

Catching up from last night. I did not get FJ. I pre-guessed Lichtenstein, and when the clue was revealed, took a mental tour of small European countries, including (but not limited to) San Marino, Monaco, Luxembourg, and Malta. I almost settled on San Marino, but decided that since Jeopardy loves Lichtenstein, I'd stick with that one. Oh well. I'd have been wrong either way. But I did get the TS of caliber, posse, Stagecoach, agriculture, adrenaline, and trachea. For the trans-continental railroad, I just said railroad, so I'll need a ruling from the judges whether or not that would have been accepted or would have gotten a BMS.

One of my favorite lines from one of my favorite movies ever.

"Life" was the first thing that popped into my head when I read the clue for FJ, but I really didn't think it was correct. I have a hard time believing it's relatable to "literally everyone in the world" -- lots of people don't have a choice about even elementary education, much less college. I stuck with it, though, since I couldn't think of anything else that might be a reasonable guess. I also got the TS of Gibson, Wilson, Van Gogh, Calder, Port Said, and Planet of the Apes.

I've never even heard of Succession, so knowing the French for "king" didn't help me at all. But I was able to get several of the many TS, including Cape Kennedy, Wilmington, Poor Richard's Almanack, Changes & Ganges, delta, and wharf & scarf.

One of my essential annual purchases was the new Rand-McNally road atlas, back in the day. I haven't bought one in years, though, and I don't even know if they're published anymore.

Not a favorite commercial necessarily, but a brilliant tagline -- "Preparation H. Get comfortable with it."

New Zealand is named after the Dutch province of Zeeland.

3/5 for this week.

Instaget FJ for me. The name screamed "Maori" to me. I also got the TS of South Pacific, Dr. Doolittle, Pierce Arrow, and radiator. Middle guy should have bet zero for FJ.

S05.E17: A Solo Peanut, a Social Butterfly, and the Truth
Browncoat replied to Bort's topic in Young Sheldon
The Pill is not for everyone. Some people can't tolerate the extra hormones. And they're not 100%, especially if they aren't taken correctly (missed pill, or the timing is off). IUDs had recently fallen out of favor (google Dalkon Shield) in the 80s. Condoms break or slip off. All that to say, they might have been using some form of birth control and it failed. -
I couldn't find a topic for this movie -- I hope it's okay that I started one! I just got back from seeing it, and I thought it was hilarious! I mean, it's a fairly formulaic rom-com, but it's a fun ride. Daniel Radcliffe's character is simultaneously a mustache-twirling villain and a petulant child. Channing Tatum is surprising -- he really shines. Not as much as the much-talked-about purple sequined disco-ball jumpsuit, of course, which really should have a credit all its own. Sandra Bullock should always do physical comedy. She's genius at it. And then there's Brad Pitt. Total caricature, but also awesome. His scenes alone are well worth the price of admission. There's a mid-credit scene to look out for as well. Seeing Daniel Radcliffe in this made me think he would have made an excellent young Dumbledore instead of Jude Law. Not that there's anything wrong with Jude Law, mind you, but having Daniel be young Dumbledore would satisfy my fanwanking that Harry Potter grew up to be Headmaster of Hogwarts.

S05.E17: A Solo Peanut, a Social Butterfly, and the Truth

Part of what made Paige look older was that they had her dressed as a 35-year-old. But I still love her messenger bag. -

You can also take drinks you purchase after security on. As long as they aren't alcoholic. -

I love Paige's messenger bag. But I'm worried about her, too. Oh, shit, Georgie. -
FJ was on the tip of my tongue, but it just wouldn't quite come to me in time. I was able to come up with the TS of Jackie Mason, Blue Danube, Boston College, rises, and grouse. I confidently said, "Lou Grant!" I suspect they wouldn't have accepted that.

I am glad for some of the changes -- like having to wait until the clue is read before ringing in. I guess some things don't change, though, like the contestants starting in the middles of the categories.

I didn't get FJ tonight. I probably should have, but Josephine Baker never occurred to me. However, I did get the TS/missed DD of Bo Jackson, will, Rwanda, Salieri, o'clock, and Oak Ridge. Bo Jackson was a guess, but I knew he'd have to come up somewhere in that category. I was surprised that Salieri was a TS, but I guess it has been a few years since Amadeus was released. I freely admit that movie is the only reason I've even heard of Salieri.

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
Browncoat replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
She didn't go to work for Fox Books. There was a scene with her in the Fox bookstore, and she was helping both a customer and the Fox employee find the "shoe" books, but she was just visiting the store. She was not working there. I don't think it was ever explicitly stated what she was going to do, but writing children's books was a definite possibility. I do hate that her store closed, but she didn't close it voluntarily. Fox Books, with lower overhead and discounts, took her customers and put her out of business. -
She puts me in mind of Anna Kendrick.

Instaget FJ for me tonight, although it was not one of my pre-guesses. Obviously, I identify with end guy's story, as I suspect many of us here do! I got a fair number of TS, too, including contact sheet, fraternities & sororities, food, Ecuador, Aswan, movie sets, Howler monkeys, and drag racing.
