2/5 this week.

I've heard of FJ, but I don't think I've ever heard it. However, I would never in a million years have been able to come up with it tonight. Oh well. Not my best FJ week this week. I did at least get the missed clues of troy, transpiration, and couplet.

I didn't get FJ tonight, though I should have! I just couldn't come up with anything other than Roots, and I knew that was wrong. I did get the TS of Sugarloaf, angels, short takeoff and landing, Luna moth, and Deschanel. Short takeoff and landing was a total guess, just deciphering what STOL might stand for.

A gentle leader might work. It has a loop that goes around the snout, but it is NOT a muzzle. When the dog pulls, his head gets turned back toward you. https://www.amazon.com/PetSafe-Gentle-Leader-Collar-Training/dp/B00074L4W2?th=1 Prong collars and choke chains can be useful when used properly. Being used properly is the key, though.

Just don't eat the apple seeds. They have cyanide in them.

If the large dog is a Great Pyrenees, it really doesn’t need a lot of exercise. They are giant couch potatoes. I had one once that would lie out in the yard, on his side, eyes fully closed, and bark once or twice every couple of minutes. He wasn’t sleeping, and he wasn’t barking at anything in particular. He was just reminding everyone that he was there and on duty. But I would say that that apartment dog is bored if nothing else. It does need some kind of stimulation, regardless of the size.

I surprised myself by getting FJ tonight! I briefly considered Dylan Thomas, but changed to Yeats at the last second -- plenty of time to write it down. I also got the TS of thermodynamics, Neil Young, Gaudi, and Andrew McCarthy. Poor Andrew. I am quite relieved that Mattea managed to win again. Ben was brutal to his buzzer, and as I have said so many times, my peeve is when the contestants don't start at the tops of the categories.

Catching up from Tuesday night -- I could have sat here for, well, ever, and never come up with the correct response for FJ. I mean, if they let me have multiple guesses, I might have eventually arrived at it, but otherwise, no. But I did get quite a few TS, including hazelnut, hemophilia, enzymes, Bell, Book, and Candle, Wynken, Blynken, and Nod, and Amati. I have to thank crossword puzzles for knowing Amati -- that turns up all the time.

I watched this again last night, and as much as I liked it the first time, I liked it more the second time. It's easier to follow the chaos when you already have an idea of the end game. And the googly eyes on the rock along with Raccaccoonie will always slay me.

Must be time for me to re-read the books... 🙂

That’s a Holstein to me, too.

Instaget FJ for me tonight. Fortunately, I focused on the year instead of all the other information. I don't think I got any TS in the first round, but in the second, I got Tony Randall, Steven Van Zandt, New Zealand (on a guess), and Friesian. Friesians are gorgeous horses. It made me sad that Tony Randall was a TS. The middle woman had $1000 when Ken reminded her she could wager up to $1000 in the first round. Ken seems to be very good at reminding players they can wager up to the maximum dollar amount on the board if they have equal to or less than that amount.

Dear Marcus: by Goldman-Sachs, "Money" is NOT a verb, so no, I cannot money. Thanks, Browncoat -
That's what happened to me on that clue. I knew the book, but I could not think of Ignatius J. Reilly for anything.

No, sorry. I really should not try to read and respond at 6am. I actually agree. She was just looking for a good roll in the hay. D'oh! -
Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"

At work, when things go missing, we decide they're time travelers, and they've gone to the future to wait for us to catch up. You look in a place many times, but the item is never there until one day it is. -

I disagree. -
Yes! That was my problem, too. Too caught up in trying to figure out which -ivore it was. Invented by Magellan! I cannot even say "nuclear vessels" normally anymore. It always comes out as "nuclear wessels" and sometimes I get the strangest looks....

2/5 for me this week.

I remember hearing about the finding of remains under the car park, so FJ was pretty much an instaget for me tonight. At least I finished the week strong. I also got the TS of kachina, Shelley Long, moonstone, SCUBA, -40, and appendectomy.

We don't know that they weren't. As I said in a previous episode thread, birth control is not 100%. Condoms break, diaphragms slip, there can also be viable sperm in pre-ejaculate, which may be released before the condom is put on. Also, as Tina Turner said, "What's love got to do with it?" Just because they had sex doesn't mean love was involved. I see no reason for them to get married. -

The worst part is that if you really are good at handling money, and you have no debt, your credit score will tank. Several years ago, I paid off my mortgage, and starting paying for everything in cash -- no credit cards. My excellent credit score dropped like a rock until I incurred debt again. It actually went up when I applied for and received a new credit card, even before I used the card! I had a HELOC that just ended, fully paid off, and my score dropped because the line of credit ended. It's a little crazy. -
Yay! Sleeping Beauty saved me from being shut out this week! It wasn't quite an instaget -- I had to think about what the name of the Roman goddess was, but once I figured that out, I knew FJ. I also got the TS of Laredo, Russia, Big River, sink, and Rachel, although that last one was a total guess. I was shocked that I got it right.

100% to avoid washing plates. My parents generally use paper plates when the whole family is at their house. They don't own a dishwasher, and my mother doesn't want to spend any more time than she has to washing dishes. -
Par for the course this week, I couldn't think of FJ. I knew what they were going for, but I just couldn't come up with the name. Boo hiss. The only TS I got were Buzzard's, meals ready to eat, Culloden, and gourami. I always feel bad for those who don't get to play FJ.
