  1. Unaware of the comic book and with the premise Kill The Dead, Fear The Living in mind, I stayed with the show beyond the second season because I was expecting that it eventually would go in the direction of Stephen King's epic The Stand. Which in over 800 pages masterfully demonstrates that some human beings are capable of inflicting more horror than any number of zombies could aspire to. A supernatural or religious undertone is not necessary - simply examine the outcome when order and morality disappear. Zombies could be the creamy frosting on a tasty post-apocolyptic cake. But, noooo. We get boring, repetitive gore instead of satisfying storytelling. Yawn.
  2. Ten delicious minutes, with Lesley Stahl.
  3. I will be watching this show for the first time.
  4. Or, she could be a catalyst for change. A rising tide lifts all boats.
  5. Heh heh, the only concrete thing that could be known or stated during their early:30 time slot is whether or where "women are lined up in the rain to vote." Take a big ol' slug of your favorite beverage every time Joey trots that one out.
  6. I've seen lots of posts over the past year or so saying that Ana never got on board because she isn't interested in relocating. Then today someone linked to the article announcing her Fridays gig which mentioned that the parties couldn't agree on a full-time salary. Sorta gets my hopes up that it might eventually happen.
  7. I didn't have a problem with how her blackface comment started out: (paraphrasing) we did that when I was a kid and didn't think twice about it. I thought she was going to follow that by saying she now realizes that it was so very wrong, and hurtful. But, damn, she said she still doesn't "get" the objection to it. As Dr Angelou famously said " ... when we know better, we do better." I have no desire to see MK even as a guest on this show, and surely not as a host. Pfftt.
  8. I know, right? I didn't think I could dislike one of these clowns more than Kody but FT stepped right up and took Kody's place on my list.
  9. Dang, I didn't see it. Was it a photo of his 1980s 'fro? I posted a clip in Small Talk.
  10. Donny on The Match Game in 1980; he plays in the first round. The smile and the accent are the same. (I found this because he posted a still photo on his FB page today).
  11. Ouch! It is noticable that some (not most, but some) of the other hosts appear on each other's shows but these two rarely do. Joey blustering and bloviating on MTP Sunday is the last guest slot I remember. It did not go well. IIRC he and Mika hoped to take over MTP when David Gregory was axed after the ratings took a nose dive.
  12. Like when she was on her way to pick up Mika from school, saw a still-warm dead deer in the road, loaded it into her vehicle, took it home, dressed it, butchered it, and served it at a dinner party for some DC types that night? (I think she shoulda hung it for at least a couple days before cooking it, but that's JMO). She also swears that her parents lost her in NYC when she was a little kid, they were hoofing it and she walked away or they did and it took quite a while for them to realize that she wasn't with them.
  13. For our newer MJ viewers who may not have seen it before: this is 4 years ago, shortly after Joey put a ring on it, in the good old days when the feckless wonder wore tight sheaths most of the time. Today she sports cleavage as well and starts out with "Joining us now ... he's a really big deal, I'm told this. I'm not very pop cultured, I'm sorry." There's nothing like making a guest feel welcome, right? Which makes it such a joy when, toward the end, he says "She's a shaft grasper!" https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/compost/wp/2013/06/19/russell-brand-devastates-morning-joe-does-he-have-a-point/?utm_term=.79a835a89774 Scoop attempts a CYA response a couple days later:
  14. Who says we can't have nice things?! WOOT!
  15. ^^^ The "Bible" of selling/salesmanship.
  16. “People are underestimating how much she’s willing to take for love,” the insider says. “If Khloé is in love with someone or even connected to them in some way or another, she will stay until she physically and emotionally can’t take it anymore.” “Khloé’s relationship with Tristan isn’t on solid ground and hasn’t been for a while,” a source told Us in October. “Tristan isn’t happy that all of the cheating is going to play out on Keeping Up With the Kardashians after the scandal has already made his life miserable.” https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/khloe-kardashian-will-stay-with-tristan-thompson-until-cant-take-it/
  17. I checked in with my locals and offered to transport anyone on election day and also our early voting days which are happening this week - especially those who are elderly or have a disability. Offered proof of current license, insurance and registration if requested. So far, crickets re that but lots of email requests for $$$. SMDH ... oh, well.
  18. Hoo boy, and surely they were looking forward to a bidding war! LOL
  19. I bought the DVD and have already watched it 3 times. Looking forward to On The Basis of Sex which is being released on December 25. We try to catch a movie on Christmas Day if a good one is playing so yay for us this year. https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2018/09/felicity-jones-cover-story
  20. Oh, man, I hope the revamp consists of cutting them back to one hour while letting them choose whether it's 6 or 7 or 8:00. You know, showing good faith and bending over backwards while easing their slide into oblivion. Because, truly, what else do they have going for them? Would they swallow their pride to stay on camera? Would they show up more often if one hour was all the national exposure they had? They would almost have to if he plans to run for office again. It would be less $$$ but they'd still be getting paid while setting roots in FL for a couple years. Gah! My guess is governor of FL. There are 435 reps (and he's already done that) and 100 senators but (aha!) only 50 governors. I see them going for the more exclusive office of governor because he'll be married to his Nantucket royalty nookie by then, and we've already (sorta) elected a thrice-married president so the multiple marriage hurdle has been jumped. I think They Have A Plan and losing the show would put a kink in their delusions aspirations.
  21. IIRC long ago he mentioned his daughter painting his nails when he was asleep - she's older now, maybe she broke out the dye. Because what he's sporting is so harsh and unnatural that it doesn't seem like something an adult who appears on camera every day would choose.
  22. Amen to the smarmy. I remember when Axios got its foot in the door at First Look and, by extension, Morning Joe. Outta nowhere, the last 5 minutes of First Look belonged to Axios and its 1 Big Thing. The way it suddenly appeared and was set up reminded me of booth rental in a hair salon, when a stylist rents space in an established location and (usually) brings a clientele with them. Van de Hei is long known for punching above his weight but Swan has a rep for producing a long list of DC insider "firsts." VdH ended up leaving Politico well before his announced and scheduled departure so that partnership didn't end well, obviously. He earned a rep there as more of a greedy grasper than a hard charger so he fits right in with reigning opportunists Joey and Scoop. This show is big on matches made in hell. One thing that impresses sometimes is the number of guests. MMV as to what they offer but the head count is often well above that of similar shows. A deep bullpen is a good thing but a deep and talented bullpen is a better thing. (I have not yet recovered from the World Series).
  23. Especially the reconfiguring. She is so good at that, whether it's rooms or a room (especially bathrooms). She always makes an old school, awkward bathroom into a delightful space. I would love to see her home! I wonder if David moves every couple/few years? "Do as I say not as I do." ???
