  1. Surprising that they don't cremate people when they die. But I guess composting is the next best thing. The apples tossed into the grave didn't make sense to me though. Do rotting apples help with the composting? Do deputy Hank and Juliette have history? She was acting a bit coy with him. The sheriff's secretary is kind of insubordinate. Can Juliette not fire her or does Juliette realize she needs her institutional knowledge? Man, you really have to be in good shape to be running up and down all those stairs. How is everyone not thin? Maybe most people tend to stay within a few floors. Hah, I knew Trimble was getting tossed over the ledge. Weird that judiciary security would kill one of their own guys, but apparently it was necessary to head off Juliet's investigation. Judicial is like the mafia but luckily Juliette is onto them.

    S1.E04: Truth

So underaged kids can leave home and get jobs if they have a note from a parent? That's insane. Is the silo hard up for workers?
  3. That spinning top was a bit on-the-nose. Inception? Seems like Nichols' apprentice Coop has a fear of heights and he's rather slight. He might be in the wrong line of work.
  4. How does it not occur to these people that what they're being shown of the outside might be a fake projection? The threat of being sent out to clean has successfully destroyed most people's intellectual curiosity and willingness to question reality. Why was Julliette climbing down the rope barehanded? Unless she wasn't expecting to return, someone in the silo would want to know what happened to her hands.
  5. Sigh, I'm not really feeling Archer this season. I'm worried they might be going out like Game of Thrones. I've seen a wild theory that Zara will turn out to be Archer's daughter. But does the math work age-wise?
  6. Dang, Tommy just left that kid Chewy dead laying in the street. Cold- blooded. Chicken Wing ain't a snitch--except for the right price. Deliberately pushing a bad batch of drugs seems like a poor business decision to me if you end up killing your customers. Jenard knows he better listen to Diamond wrt to Tommy. Tommy is no one to fuck with. Walter trying to set up his own son to move those tainted drugs. Wow. Good thing Vic wasn't feeling like being used. So then Walter sends Claudia in to work on Vic. This guy. But Claudia doesn't have any more respect for Vic than their father does and Vic knows it. Oh no, they shot Tommy! But at least he got to get his flirt on with Mireya. Abuela the queenpin is definitely not here for that White pendejo Tommy, ha ha. Vic holding up liquor stores and drving drunk. Apparently he's given up on life. I think that cartel guy who threatened to kidnap, gang rape, and kill Miguel's sister is as good as dead--eventually. The only way he could've done worse is if he'd said that stuff about Abuela. Okay, I take back what I said last week about Jenard not being a generous lover. But Shanti still had to pay him for the privilege. Ugh. Of course Diamond is screwing a coke-sniffing CO from his old prison. That'll go sideways, especially if she's trying to get him to use drugs. One bad urine test and Diamond's parole is over. Wait, Tommy and Diamond robbed Miguel, killed a couple of his men, and pinned it on the Serbs? Whew, Tommy is deploying the Ghost playbook. Who is this new lieutenant from the CPD? Whatever, there's a theory elsewhere that his girlfriend AUSA Stacy set up the driveby that killed an innocent kid so the CPD would finally have to endorse her anti-gang task force. But wasn't the shooter Jenard's guy gone rogue against Tommy? I don't see how Stacy could've caused that to happen, not to mention deliberately having a child to get shot in the crossfire.
  7. Yep. Given the trash behavior of most of the men on this show though, that might not always be a bad thing, lol. Whatever, JG seems to be creating a lot of storylines, scenes, and dialogue based on characters just being awful people doing and saying awful things. I think he's lost the balanced approach Bill Bell had and his methods are helping to drive viewers away. The audience expects Y&R to be a daytime drama, not a reality TV show. And that assumption would be another error. I'd simply appreciate not having other posters' comments misattributed to me, regardless of how I manage to avoid doing it to others' comments.
  8. So yesterday I happened to catch an episode of Seinfeld which featured the return of Mulva. (Mulva was character played by Susan Walters aka Diane Jenkins.) I guess I didn't remember much about it because this time I was surprised to see Mulva with bright blonde hair versus the dishwater color she had in her initial appearance: Seeing SW as a bottle blonde got me thinking: maybe Diane should lighten her hair so she looks more like Ashley, Traci, and Abby. Yeah, that's the ticket! Then they'll love her! 🤡
  9. I haven't read the books yet though now that I've finished the first season I'm about to. Anyway, I didn't binge Silo but made notes as I went along. For the first episode: fantastic production values. The theme song and opening credits are reminiscent of Westworld's. Same ethereal quality. I've been intrigued by the comparison of this show to other series. I've never watched the Snowpiercer TV series but right off the bat Silo made me think of the Snowpiercer movie. I also found it similar in some ways to J.G. Ballard's novel, High Rise, which deals with another kind of enclosed, vertical, socially stratified society.
  10. Absolutely. Remember back in 2018 when the top guy at CBS, Les Moonves, was forced to resign because of allegations of sexual harassment, sexual assault and abuse? I think that was only the tip of the iceberg and that there is a continuing pervasive corporate environment at CBS which sees such treatment of women (and sometimes men) as acceptable. The excrement flows downhill from the C-suite as both CBS daytime soaps present storylines which treat these workplace issues as if either they don't exist or if they do they're not a real problem. Because everyone knows women are whores and should be at home being housewives instead of taking men's jobs. 😒 It's sad to say the least, IMO.
  11. The comment being replied to here is not mine. Misquoting error:
  12. Her hair appears to have thinned out a lot and she doesn't seem to want to wear extensions like several of the other older actresses on the show. (Or maybe her hair is too thin to attach extensions now without damaging her real hair.) I watched the show live today and didn't notice it but I probably looked away once the scene was ending. So I just rewatched the scene again online at CBS.com and sure enough the camera guy and the camera were RIGHT THERE! Are the film editors on strike too or is JG also doing that job (poorly) on top of all his other ones? Unbelievable.
  13. IMO Kyle's a bit of a spoiled brat, but also he might be too old to be getting summoned by his mommy and daddy to the Abbott manse for a scolding. Geez. Adam wasn't wearing a suit today. What sorcery is this? Interesting how Adam worked Sally with his "I've finally hit rock bottom" act, just like he did to Sharon yesterday. Who's next, Faith? Jack, you chose Summer over your own child, claiming it was best for business to keep a non-Abbott on board. Don't act surprised Kyle doesn't feel he matters as much to you anymore. So it took Nick to make Sharon see the light about Adam? Oh come on. She has to know Nick's agenda will always include being wary of Adam--at least as long as Sally is in the picture. Lol, Sally was caught with Adam again by Nick and she was yet again quick with an excuse. I guess Nick is never going acquire a clue until he sees Sally in bed with Adam. What a moron. Victor folded on the Kirsten Incorporated ownership issue awfully fast once Sharon gently but firmly confronted him about it. Heather is good at her job, huh? Sure. 🙄 I think Jack and Diane need to accept that Kyle is done with Summer. She's not the answer to whatever he's going through right now, and everyone needs to stop pushing Kyle to reconcile with her. Kyle lining himself up with Jack as the anti-Billy. Way to set a low bar, Kyle. Your uncle has the business acumen of a Ken doll and the subtlety of a freight train. Somewhere out there Machiavelli's ghost is pointing and laughing at both of you. Whoo, Sally saw the strong vibe between Sharon and Nick and thought, "Gulp. Perhaps I should've kept my mouth shut." I still don't understand why Sally's been trying so hard to talk Nick out of returning to NE. What's it to her?
  14. Apparently Tucker has a private jet. I didn't know he was still fancy like that. But I did wonder whether he and Ashley flew commercial to Paris or used Jabot's plane. "Jack's new wife is going to be a danger for Jabot." Based on exactly what evidence, Billy? Sigh, you're turning into as big of a whackadoodle as your oldest sister. Kyle lying right to Nikki's face. As if. Nikki's a Newman and you don't lie to them; they lie to you! But OTOH, as far as Nikki is concerned, I think Alexis Carrington said it best: Audra not being straight with her buddy Nate about continuing to see Kyle on the down-low was interesting. Guess she doesn't entirely trust Nate. Or she wants him to have plausible deniability if things go sideways. Billy not only has a copy of Diane & Jack's post-nuptial agreement, he's taken it upon himself to study it word by word. He definitely needs to get a life. Is the term "Heimlich Maneuver" trademarked? Abby said "abdominal thrusts" instead of using the more common reference. Gotta give Kyle some kudos for standing up to Nikki over his divorce from Summer. IMO he was far more gentle with Nikki than she deserved though. Wait, what? Kyle isn't even in the same galaxy as Adam. Not in intelligence, education, business experience, or notoriety. Go home, Nikki, you're drunk. Oh, wait I liked Abby's dress today and thought it looked good on her. Ruh roh. Jack made his classic grimace. Billy, you in danger, boy. Audra and Kyle must want to get caught. He shouldn't be texting her with plans to hook up, especially when he can't be sure the wrong person won't see the message over her shoulder or something. OMG, Billy was cracking me up when he was talking to Diane using his "I'm Batman" voice. He may think he's the Caped Crusader for Jabot but he's coming across to me more like Two-Face before he got half his mug melted by acid. So now we're getting scenes we've never seen before, presented as sepia-toned flashbacks. WTAF? Ease up on the attempts at gaslighting us, JG. 🙄 THESE FOOLS MEETING IN PUBLIC IN CHANCELLOR PARK! And being all flirty with each other. I can't with Audra and Kyle. Good thing Nate caught them instead of Nikki.
  15. Several soap media sites are reporting the return this fall of a former Y&R cast member, but in a newly created role. According to Soap Central, actress Hayley Erin will be coming back to GC as a character named Claire Grace. Claire is going to be an employee at Newman Media. Erin previously played a young Abby Newman between 2008 and 2010. The Soap Central article is here: Hayley Erin set to return to The Young and the Restless -- in a brand-new role According to IMDb Hayley Erin is 29 so based on that I'm hoping she'll be romantically paired with Adam. Keep her away from Nick, Kyle, Nate, and Billy, please. I'd be okay with Chance but rumor has it he's slated to be with Summer.
  16. Good grief, why is it STILL the same day in GC? Whyyyyyyy? Nick told Sally he's going to be working right in between Victoria and Nate. Ew. Hope he's current on his shots and has a rubber suit handy because that position sounds sticky to say the least. Victoria, sometimes good intentions just ain't good enough. (YouTube link) You need find a less lame excuse for shafting your own brother in favor of your lover. Oh come on. Why should two single adults who aren't doing anything illegal have to sneak around to have a relationship? That's stupid. I might could buy it if NE had an HR policy against employees dating each other. But even then the Newmans would be like "rules for thee, not for me." Why did Nikki have to go to the GCAC for dinner? She couldn't eat when she was at home? Audra and Kyle are going to keep up their FWB thing on the sly. They might want to meet somewhere other than the GCAC though. The Genoa City town square is probably more private than the Athletic Club. Sally seemed to be trying to talk Nick out of returning to NE. Hmmm. 🤔 Interesting how Audra was allowed to change clothes while Nikki was still wearing the black dress and humongous belt. I bet Sharon's overconfidence in her ability to read people will be her eventual undoing. Adam was playing her so hard with his "I've changed" shtick she should've had a scoreboard embedded in her forehead. Sharon thinks she has him all figured out but by the end of today's episode it was looking like Adam 1 Sharon 0 to me.
  17. Apparently there aren't enough one-shouldered bodycon dresses around anymore since Phyllis now has to resort to wearing the same one in different colors: From Winter 2022 From yesterday Now I often buy the same item of clothing in two or more colors but I'm not a star of a TV show. I can't believe Y&R's wardrobe people allowed this. Yes. No.
  18. Guess Tessa is more of a spokesmodel than a musical artist now. Lol, if Lily's tote bags get any bigger she'll likely dislocate her shoulder. She's going to need a system of levers and pulleys to carry them. Daniel, you know you're in trouble when you're taking romantic advice from a woman who tried to run down her rival with a rental car. Meh on Lily feeling even the tiniest bit insecure about Heather's continuing presence in GC. I'm also bleh on Billy performing his wise old sage routine on the topic. I do however like that Lily and Billy are able to be friends now. So they're already folding up the tack house set and sending Mariah and Aria over to live at Chancellor Mansion. Apparently that makes it okay for Devon and Abby to turn Jill's property into a boarding house. 🤨 Billy actually confessed his Jabot spy adventures between Jack and Ashley to Lily. This is my say what now face. Especially at the part where he was casting himself as the savior of the Abbott family legacy. 😱😱😱 Paul is still living in Portugal though, isn't he? Did Heather forget about her daddy or does she consider him Christine's problem to deal with now? OMG, how freaking delusional is Billy? Chelsea's only been gone a few days and he's already bored and looking for trouble. Yo, Jill, you better come get your son before Jack does. Or Tucker. Heather was lurking in the lobby waiting for Daniel to back upstairs from the jazz lounge. How old is she, 12? What a loon.
  19. Finally finished watching this season. My takes: E1 Jenifer Lewis as a therapist was fantastic casting. It seemed different from the kind of comedic character she usually plays. E2 I don't know about joking about having someone steal all your money. The actor who plays Duck must've gone on the Ozempic diet. I was surprised the show acknowledged his noticeable weight loss. Kim's Emmy nomination reel monologue went on too long. I lost the point about a third of the way through. E3 Peanut butter, baloney, and Funyuns sandwich. Ew. Surely no one actually eats such a horror! Wonder if Wanda Sykes ad-libbed Lucretia's profanity-filled rant at the end of this episode. It was amazing, especially with bleeps. E4 Wow, I did not recognize Marsha Warfield. (I avoided the spoilers.) Good to see her again. Lucretia's idea of an AirBnB was basically having a temporary roommate. Is that how it's supposed to work? Glodine was too much. And not in a good way, IMO. E5 A Cooch bag. That joke works on two levels. 😏 So was this the end of The Upshaws? I thought the cliffhangers were kind of weak this time. Netflix has been supportive of this show but I wonder how the stike will affect continued production.
  20. It wasn't rhetorical! Or was it? I like seeing Lana running the agency now and I liked the introduction of Zara. The rest kind of felt same ol' same ol' to me. I look forward to seeing how things develop for the better.
  21. On one hand, the hurricane references were timely. But on the other hand, it must have been hard for people in certain parts of the country to watch given what they've gone through IRL recently. Hurricanes are no joke. "Classical music is pussy music." Hmmm. Scooter and Prince were sure making a weird big deal about it though. That was perhaps the real problem. So Grosse Pointe Blank was the movie Wendy was watching obsessively. Guess I'll have to watch it again because I didn't understand the reference. Of course Wags bribed the hurricane grader. Too bad he couldn't bribe Mother Nature too. Oh okay, Wendy was acting like the symphony thing was a good idea because she believed it'd be bad for Prince's presidential campaign. Again, hmmm. I didn't expect Dr. Mayer would chose Wendy over her coworkers who were also patients, as well as decide to help Wendy take down Prince. That seems unethical to me. She may end up being made a scapegoat if Wendy's duplicity with Prince is discovered. (However, there's a theory on reddit that Dr. Mayer is working for Prince and is telling him what Wendy's up to.) Chuck played his hand too soon. Now Prince has a definite heads up that Chuck is after him. Prince is teflon-coated. What's it going to take to find a mistake that'll stick to him?
  22. Liked the new opening. Jenard's crew looked like a bunch of children compared to Tommy and Diamond and CBI. No wonder he's coming up short financially. What were Miguel and them doing to that guy screaming in the back room, specifically to his body? Guess we know who Tommy's new girlfriend will be this season. The actress playing Miguel's sister Mireya must be from Chicago. She was also in a story arc on Chicago PD. Uh oh, Mireya's already spoken for. Can Tommy compete with an M.D.? Nah, he'll just kill or maim him. Meh on the sex scene with Shanti and Jenard. He clearly is not a generous lover. And now you're dead, Chewy. You bet on the wrong team. Yep, and I don't see Miguel lasting past this season either. Someone's going to mess with his insulin shots. I had to stare at her for a minute because at first I thought it actually was Juke. But Juke would not be swinging Jenard's way, lol.
  23. Lawd have mercy, this: and this: Why am I feeling mad respect for Billy right now? I'm scared. Anyhoo, Billy could save himself a lot of that FOH energy and just hand out business cards:
  24. Hee, the "jizz club" is what the housekeeping staff call the upstairs where the rooms and suites are. The GCAC is pretty much a No-Tell Motel, but with better furniture, fluffier pillows, and a convenient lack of used condoms under the beds.
  25. HR is busy looking the other way while their employer's CEO is screwing her COO, either in her office or the NE corporate suite at the GCAC. And said screwing often occurs during office hours so basically the COO is being paid to be a prostitute. Sorry but laws are for the sad sacks whose last name isn't Newman. Or the jazz club. Then the jurors will be able to enjoy cocktails and yummy appetizers while they listen to the testimony.
