There's nothing at all in-show that suggests that Felicity works "for" the Green Arrow though? So it's either a line that wasn't well thought out without any underlying motivation (surprise, surprise!) or was misspoken by EBR.

That scene was the only one I watched from the last ep - but I'm not sure they're trying to draw any parallels (although I can't rule it out because this show is real iffy with getting its message across sometimes). I think they were just showing that good 'ol Billy wasn't upset because he's good and the best and totally not up to something shifty, no sir!

Haven't even seen her on screen yet, and I'm already sick of hearing about her.

She has an engagement ring on her left ring finger - you can see the top of the diamond near the edge of the mirror on the lefthand side. She also has a really thin silver or diamond ring on her right ring finger. Rings freaking everywhere.

Except there is zero evidence that anyone other than a very small percentage of their viewing audience actually cares about comic canon.

I'll preface this by saying that there's a lot to criticize about SA, and his ego is one of them. But...S4 went off the rails - there were a ton of messes and a lot of things that needed to be cleaned up. He mentioned several times that he didn't like the magic, and he didn't like having to set up for spin-offs. I'm sure there were other things he didn't like, and I can't say they're all things I would've complained about because I think he has shit taste when it comes to storylines, but writing them all off as ego is unfair. If he'd petitioned for changes to a show that was perfect, sure. But he petitioned for changes on a show that was a mess.

I just think it's funny that so many people in fandom give such weight to JBA's ideas. I get why people like reading her reviews, especially in times like these, because she's relentlessly optimistic and can give a positive spin to pretty much anything. But redirecting someone to a fan blog so they can "see the bigger picture" as if JBA has any actual information on what that is just makes me laugh.

I was reading a review of last night's episode from a reviewer who didn't like it, and the very first comment was someone telling her that she needed to read jbuffyangel's blog, "because she'd like the season better if she could see the bigger picture." Just...LOL.

Maybe he's "away on business."

Probably known street criminals and other people who had criminal records and had been released/broken out and were known to be out on the streets getting into nefarious things. This actually doesn't seem illogical or nonsensical to me, haha.

I don't think those were people from the list - in that scene, Felicity's watching a news report that mentions the crime rate plummeting, and then Oliver comes in and says to take another off the board. Diggle follows with, "Keep this up, there will only be two kinds of criminals in Starling City - the ones we put away, and the ones that are running scared." I think those people were just run-of-the-mill criminals Team Arrow was hunting down.

I think it probably has most to do with the show getting some good word of mouth and some of the people who dropped it last season are trickling back in.

I didn't and won't watch this ep, but I did watch the scene posted above and LMAO @ Felicity telling her boyfriend her big green secret in an actual police station. Stay nonsensical and completely stupid, show.

Yeah. It would've been really nice to have a bit of escapism left with the show, but feeling down about it in addition to the real world stuff...no thanks, haha.

I got the sense that in that interview SA was speaking in absolutes as far as what we've seen on screen thus far in the season, and all the "hopefullys" and "maybes" and "I think it would be interesting ifs" are things they have already filmed and he was - for whatever reason - giving little spoilers there.
