  1. I noticed that in Paul and Mary's "Master Class" episodes they weigh their ingredients instead of measuring them ex. putting in X many grams of flour rather than 2 cups of flour. I have never heard of that before. Is that what professional bakers do or it is a Brit/metric thing?
  2. I have a disability that often leaves me being unable to leave my home. I missed voting in the primary because of this. After last night's show I looked up how to obtain an absentee ballot. I found a website called Vote.org and it helped me fill out a request for an absentee ballot. It was easy to fill out and it had the local government information filled out for me. I printed it out and all I have to do is check a few boxes and mail it. The town will send me my ballot. So glad I did this because I really hate raisins and I don't want to be drowning in them in November.
  3. I am wondering to whom Eric gave power of attorney. It would be interesting if he divided it up among his three living wives, Brooke, Donna and Quinn. He has a trusting and loving relationship with both of his ex-wives. Donna has proven her ability to stand up to Ridge when she fought him tooth and nail to keep Eric on life support. She would back up Quinn if Eric had a medical crisis. Brooke would be a bit of a wild card but she adores Eric and ultimately look out for Eric's best interests. The three of them would be a powerful force against Ridge and the Taytots.
  4. Chris always has this look on his face that says "I am so freaking stuck with this crazy ass bitch. Please somebody shoot me and put me out of my misery.". Before Nick was diagnosed he could have left Jac and shared custody of the boys. However, because of Nick's disability he can not leave. He can't trust Jac to be left alone with the boys because she is bat shit crazy. He needs to be by her side to keep her on an even keel. Taking care of Jacqueline is a full time job.
  5. I will never look at raisins again without laughing my ass off. John Oliver can make a shriveled up grape a political metaphor. He is brilliant and showed how much he deserved that Emmy.
  6. Many taxpayers feel that because inmates have been "bad" that they are deserving of whatever treatment they receive while they are behind bars. When someone is incarcerated their "punishment" is the loss of their freedom and not their civil rights. Once they are in state custody it is the state's responsibility to ensure the inmate is safe and that their human rights are ensured. WHat the average taxpayer needs to keep in mind is that most inmates do get out of jail and rejoin society. Inmates that are treated like animals while incarcerated will leave jail acting like animals out on the street.
  7. I wish I could switch to another provider or cut the cord entirely. However, I live at a high elevation and get no reception even though the local TV towers are a half a mile away. It sucks but I do have a beautiful country view.
  8. CC is between a rock and a hard place. He is as dirty as the day is long and he may end up doing some time in prison. It would serve him right if he were brought down by a massive traffic jam.
  9. I think the Bridge-gate scandal is newsworthy because of Chris Christie. At the time of the lane closures he was a front runner for the Republican nomination for POTUS. He is now a Trump insider who could be placed in a position of great power. What Bridge-Gate is really about Christie's abuse of power to settle personal/professional grudges. The intentionally created traffic jams were just his method in seeking revenge on the mayor of Fort Lee. It threw an entire region of NJ into chaos for DAYS. First responders were not able to get to where they were dispatched. It was not only inconvenient it was dangerous. There was an elderly women who may have died because of the delayed response time of the EMTs. Imagine the political and personal scores Christie would settle with newly acquired power he would have being part of a Trump administration. That is why this story needs to be covered. It is a local story that could have national implications.
  10. We ran out of seats at the table a long time ago. However, we have permanently rented out a banquet hall and there are plenty of seats available. They are going more quickly than Adele tickets so reserve yours ASAP.
  11. Why can't the networks manage to run their programs in the same time frame as posted in the tv listings. If a program is scheduled for 8-8:30 it should actually end at 8:30 not 8:31. I am so tired of having to set my DVR record that extra minute because it screws up my other recordings. I know it is a very minor pet peeve in the grand scheme of all that is wrong with the world. However, it is one of those things that can be easily fixed if TPTB had the will to fix it. That is what frustrates me.
  12. I am passionate about this issue because I am a survivor of violent crime. Months after the incident I was in my own bathroom and after I was done I lifted the shade and was beyond stunned to find a raggedy man standing there. He had obviously been watching me pee. Did I scream, no, I politely looked at him and said "Can I help you?". He said he was looking for a local rehab. I gave him directions and he left. I did not even call the police because I was too embarrassed. When I told my friend she called the cops and signed me up for a self defense class. That class was the best and most challenging thing I have ever done. It was so hard for me to give myself permission to fight back and not be polite to those who are taking advantage of or trying to victimize me. I still can't believe that I asked that pervert if I could help him. It is both the most cringeworthy and hilarious incident in my life.
  13. The fact that there are only 2 CO's on overnight shifts is setting up the County to be sued on negligence charges. It is not as if the inmates are LOCKED in their cells overnight. There are no doors on these cells and the inmates are running around IN THE DARK doing whatever they want. It is a dangerous situation. The Corrections Dept. is liable for the safety of inmates, if I lived in that county I would be very concerned about potential lawsuits. How many times have we witnessed PROLONGED beatings in the pods that had NO intervention by the CO's? The sheriff has no control of the facility. The lack of funding/staffing and his incompetence are a disaster waiting to happen.
  14. I’m amazed that people are criticizing GiGi for defending herself. A strange man came up behind her grabbed her and picked her up. What was she supposed to do act like a “lady” and let him assault her and carry her off? GiGi did what ANYONE should do, she fought back! Too often we teach our young girls to be polite and ladylike. We don’t teach them to stand up and do what it takes to defend themselves when they feel threatened. If someone comes up behind you, grabs you and picks you up you kick their ass. The hell with acting “like a lady”.
  15. The best part of today's show was Julian congratulating Morgan on using a word with THREE syllables.
  16. Yes, it is your vacation and you are spending over $50,000 for a few day R&R. I would want all the meals on your schedule PLUS a hot and cold buffet of fresh snacks available all day and evening. It does not matter if my guests and I eat it, I would want it available, hot and fresh. I would be Ben's worst nightmare but I would leave one hell of a tip. Now, if I could just win that lottery......
  17. I have to give Nathan credit, when he found out Claudett was in town and working for Crimson, he told Maxie immediately. From the previews, he does the same thing and tells Maxie about his "daughter". He does let it become a months long drawn out reveal.
  18. My niece is adopted and she has always struggled with this issue. She was a foster child who came into her adoptive home at 6 weeks, however, it took forever for parental right to be terminated and she was not free to be adopted until she was 6 years old. During that time she had forced visits with a "strange woman" with a coke addiction that called herself mommy. It really had a negative impact on my niece. She never felt she belonged. More importantly, she felt there was something wrong with her that caused her birth mother to reject her over drugs. When she became an adult she tracked down her birth mother. This woman was still addicted and blaming the state for stealing her daughter. I took some time but my niece finally had some closure and realized it was her birth mother's addiction that caused her to be put up for adoption. She finally came to terms that there was nothing wrong with her and she was not unloveable. A lot of adopted children (not all) have these unresolved issues, as well as, questions regarding their birth parents and the circumstance surrounding their adoptions. Many adopted children do not have this need but for those who do it seems to be an overwhelming need.
  19. I think he said something about sand fleas "waking up" around sunset. So I think it was a good move to have the clambake before sunset. Ben had enough time to plan both meals, he was just being lazy. Did he really expect the guest, after not being served lunch, have a clambake for "dinner at 5pm and not have a meal before breakfast the next morning? Not exactly 5 star service Bennie. Ben was pissed because he had to make dog food. He needs to swallow his pride and suck it up.
  20. I don't blame Kate for not communicating to the guest that the ship's cook did not feel like making them dinner. A lazy Ben was attempting to weasel his way out of the extra work of making a late dinner. He then got into a screaming match, that was overheard by the guest, with Kate about it. He endangered the crew's tip because of his diva like behavior. He deserves a plane ticket home.
  21. At least they didn't burn down the hospital like they did a few years ago. The Powers That Be decided they wanted to build a new hospital set so they had The Hospital is on Fire sweeps event. The new nurses station had those stupid stairs going up to the mystery floor, where patients, visitors and staffers can lean on the railings to eavesdrop. Within the first year of the staircases appearance the writers did put it to "good use" when not one but TWO pregnant women (Carly and Claudia) fell down the stairs while they were fighting.
  22. I just figured out why Ben grates on me so much. It's his Beavis and Butthead laugh. That laugh can be enduring on a teenage boy or even a "man" in his VERY early twenties, however, it is annoying in a grown ass man.
  23. Olivia stood there and watched Sonny gun down a rival Russian mobster. Was she outraged. Did she run to the police or her son the policeman. No, she helped Sonny the GOOD MOBSTER cover up the murder. Shut up Olivia! You do not have the moral highground. I forgot to mention that she also witnessed and covered up for Sonny when he shot their son, Dante, in the chest at point blank range. Of course it was "her fault for not telling Sonny he was Dante's father" TM. Sonny Corrinthos.
  24. Wait until RJ finds out the Taytots are trying to manage him so they can sell his mother for FC stock. Steffy and THomas have treated Brooke like crap since the day Taylor returned from the dead (for the second time, god I love soaps!) Brooke loved Taylor;s children like they were her own and what did she get in return..."My mom is alive now so you can take my infant brother and his young sister and get lost. They will be just fine without their father. Yes, we are almost adults but we were here first, so bye bye Brooke don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out." Rj should have YEARS of resentment built up. He should make it his mission to make the Taytots lives a living hell.
