  1. I recently got on the Vikings train (boat?) and really enjoyed season one. So far, not enjoying season 2 as much but we're only 3 episodes in so I'll see how it goes. I think it's mostly that I miss Lagertha's bad-arsery and now she's with this douchey new earl (not that the previous earl she was with isn't douchey) and Bjorn is still a cry baby, just a bigger one.
  2. We just saw Elliott's place get stormed by the cops (?) and the main guy mentioned getting animal control in for it. Nothing mentioned after that that I recall.
  3. My understanding of the 'master' comment was about him hacking the phone. The guy said his phone was clean and then after that the connection died. Yes! I was thinking "why do these people just keep blindly opening their doors?" I couldn't believe she'd be so stupid. Especially to show up there in person with documents she can't quite explain how she got. And that she logged into the bosses account on her computer! Did she learn nothing at All Safe.. so stupid. Overall I thought the episode was average, I was thinking how I prefer the storylines that don't include Elliott and Mr. Robot. I'm really pretty tired of this fight for power between the two so now if we have a third I may just give up. I was hoping the glitches Elliott and Mr. Robot felt was Elliott regaining control or somehow losing Mr. Robot.. oh well, wishful thinking I guess.
  4. Friend request made :) Mine is: https://www.goodreads.com/Kalliste Today I had a somewhat bumpy bus ride. This what came to mind during the journey. Now I feel the need to watch the whole movie.
  5. Anyone bought this Doctor Who Cook Book? I'm curious but I'd love to see some more pages to see what the recipes are like. Is it really worth buying a Doctor Who themed cook book? I own When's the Doctor which is sort of a Where's Wally but for Doctor Who. It's quite cute, but I admit I haven't gone through all of the pages.
  6. Thanks for the advice guys! I had unsupervised parties as a teen, it started maybe around the age of 15? There was alcohol involved too and most of the time supplied by my parents. I also had 1 other friend whose parents did that too.. we'd give them our cash, tell them what we wanted and they'd buy it for us. His Dad was a bit of a sleaze and I used to get to try his 'good stuff' (that's what she said) and one night when I was 19 he propositioned me while his wife was asleep... at least I got a bunch of free booze out of him. And no, I didn't take up his offer :P So, yes there were irresponsible parents :D I had a friend whose Mum worked nights and left all the kids (4 of them) at home most of the night, if not all of it. She was of the more irresponsible variety. I would say I was 16 or 17 when my parents let me stay home while they went away for the weekend and eventually as I got older the amount of time they left me alone increased. I was definitely not a responsible teen :D Although I guess I still did go to school and work when they went away. I just threw a lot of parties too! I also had friends that were barely allowed to leave the house without supervision though. One friend wasn't allowed to walk home with me because I went through 'the bush' and I guess her Mum thought we could get kidnapped or bitten by stuff.. I don't know. She also didn't let my friend do kickboxing with me because it was too dangerous... she was a little overbearing :P
  7. Hmm. I think I'll give that a miss :P
  8. So this morning started out great... We have a daily stand up meeting (which is a waste of time!) and director is saying how some work needs to be handed over from someone to someone else and no one volunteers so he says "Ok, Sarah (that's me!) you can do it" and it's not as though, in a room with the full section I can say "Actually, no I'm not doing that" to the director. So then I later hear that he and my direct manager were discussing me and the role I mentioned above and how they were going to have a chat to me about it.. I feel like they're going to push me into applying for it just because they are now disappointed in the crappy applicants they got. Yes, I know I'm the best person for that job but maybe you should have checked if I'd apply/want it before advertising it! So by 9:30 he'd basically ruined my day.. what did I ever do to you director guy :'(
  9. When the episode finished I turned to my partner and said "you know what I liked about this? There was no Elliott!" I'm glad we got to focus on the fsociety side and how they're slowly imploding. I hope this isn't the end for Mobley and Trenton as they're interesting characters and I'd like to see more of them, especially Trenton. Was she only doing it to help her family get out of debt they can't cope with or did she have other motives? And when/why did she start getting interested in hacking. I also loved how she set up Mobley in the flash back.. could he really have been that stupid? I think what Angela said to her Dad's friend was justified. He could have been civilised and she would have been in return but he was the one that made it snarky and should have expected her to do it in return. I know someone up thread mentioned how he would have been making a similar amount of money to Angela but I thought her point was that even though she has been in the workforce a much shorter time than him she was already succeeding and she was only beginning but he was at the end of his career and how much more did he have to show for it? I wonder if she had any idea the guy she was on a date with was working for the FBI, and why did she go home with the older guy? I'm not sure why Darlene didn't just leave the body in the pool. It seemed to be a good outcome. Susan comes up, something happens with her heart, she hits her head and falls in the pool and dies. easy. They clean down the house and get the hell out. I know she said she was concerned about the others coming back but, so what? It's unlikely they would have said anything if they did.
  10. I thought it was great too! Hopper and Eleven are definitely my favourites of the show. Ugh, I hate bosses like that @sacrebleu I sometimes think they think that everyone is as invested in the work/job as they are and forget that, actually, we are just there because we're paid to be there. It happens to my bf regularly, he has a boss who seems to be oblivious to everyone else not wanting to work 24/7 (he'll send emails out at 2am for example) and will come up while my bf has a mouthful of lunch and ask him questions or will ask him question as he is obviously leaving for the day. People here generally take holidays in the summer too (usually over school holidays which is 6 weeks starting just before christmas) so it's nice and quiet at work (fortunately I don't work in retail) so I usually work as much as I can during that time and then take leave when school goes back. Have fun on your vacation!
  11. What would happen if your belly button did close over? That could be unique and wonderful! Sorry to hear about the other stuff :( It sucks when people you actually like working with leave. I find it hard not to scream at their feet "why are you leaving me here?? WHYYYYYYYYY!!" Today a 12month position opened that is a step up (pay wise anyway) and something I have all the qualifications for and people kept asking me if I was applying and when I said probably not they look at me like I'm crazy and say "but it pays more!" I don't care guys! Interestingly we're also going through a restructure and my boss came into me and said "these are all our new teams, which would you like to be in? You can be in any and we'll support you" so now I've gone from having no choice about what I'm doing to having about 5 and I don't know what to choose! Ultimate first world probably, having too much choice. Oh and I totally agree with your thoughts on Trump, Pixel.. Even though if elected he wouldn't be the head of my country I'm still concerned what ripple effect would come this way. I bought some nice squishy insoles for my shoes today and just realised it has in teeny tiny text "suitable for sizes 4 - 8", firstly.. who has size 4 shoes! and secondly, I"m a size 9 so I'm not sure if I should risk it or take them back. Lastly, anyone watching/watched Stranger Things?
  12. I just got finished watching Parks & Recs today and I stumbled upon this photo of Ben Schwartz (Jean Ralphio in Parks & Recs) and I thought it was fitting as many of us thing that Steve looks like a younger version of him.
  13. There's a lot more Jean Ralphio love around here than I expected. I just finished the series tonight for the first time and thought he was a good character but he still drove me crazy.. but not as crazy as Mona Lisa (she is definitely the worst). I do love that, finally in season 7, someone asked why he is the way he is :P I also love Ben's Stranger Things shirt in this photo given how much he looks like Joe Keery (Steve) or perhaps how much Joe looks like him might be more correct.. although it could just be the hair :D
  14. I said the same thing when I saw it! It seems like such a stupid place and yet most tv/movies that need blood in this type of situation will always choose the palm.
  15. I think it's strange they say Gaten is covering the song when it's pretty obvious it's karaoke. It's also a bit sad that this kid has a great voice and people in the background don't really seem to be interested in it (if the background talking is anything to go by). I guess they made up for it at the end :P Hah, that rap! It's crazy how much people have gotten into the show, the last show I watched this this type of input from fans was Gravity Falls.
  16. I actually prefer the Darlene/Angela part of the storyline. I have to say I'm getting pretty bored of the "Elliot is crazy" parts as they don't really appear to progressing anywhere, although that may change with how this episode ended. I'm also of the thinking that the sitcom bit at the beginning went for far too long.
  17. Cancelled too soon (sort of, maybe.. granted some of these have come back in 1 way or another and then I was sad): Firefly, Arrested Development, Veronica Mars (lets not talk about the movie), Flash Forward, Community (up until it was originally cancelled), Gravity Falls (Ok, so it wasn't cancelled and was only planned to go 2 seasons but it's too amazing NOT to continue), Futurama (up until original cancellation. It still boggles my mind that something so good could be cancelled multiple times and The Simpsons lives forever). .. there's probably more. Shows that should have been cancelled sooner: Everyone Loves Raymond, Charmed, Two and a Half Men, Community (hah, I know!), Bold and the Beautiful (how do soaps even last so long? how!), The Jetsons (actually this was only short and I loved it as a kid but as an adult, not so much), pretty much all reality tv, Silicon Valley (don't hurt me). Again, there's probably more.
  18. I would sub out "The Office" with "Everyone Loves Raymond" or any number of reality shows before I got to The Office Vs. Hitler.
  19. Spent the last couple of days in Melbourne, including my birthday. I think I ate myself out of the city. Going home with approx 500gm more chocolate than I came with and then there are all the snacks I had while down here. Oh and that walking kilometres a day thing, I think my feet may fall off when I get home.
  20. I liked him much more than expected. That first scene of him hungover on the couch I thought 'oh great, a typical hick sheriff.. this guy is going to be a douche' and then he was actually pretty awesome.
  21. Hmm, I'm not sure where I stand on the 'whitewashed' cast. I feel like if it was normal for the times than there is nothing much wrong with that. I mean, everyone gets all up in arms about movies or shows where the cast should be people of colour and they're not so maybe it would be better to encourage those things to be more representative of their source material or time rather than getting annoyed because something like this chose to be true to the area which happened to be mostly white. That being said I wouldn't care if the whole cast were people of colour, it wouldn't plague my mind about the authenticity of it all.
  22. Oh really? People in the episode threads have said she was great in it. I haven't seen it myself though.
  23. I have to say I think Eleven is my favourite character of the show, slightly above Hopper. Millie Bobby Brown has done a great job in the role considering she barely gets to speak and yet she has me wanting to know more. Also fascinating that she is only 12, I can't imagine being so young and having to do some of those scenes without be terrified even though I knew they weren't real.
  24. My Mum made me wear those too and that was in the late 80's! Damn I hated those things. Also I do quite like Hopper too both character and looks. When we first saw him passed out on the couch I thought I was going to hate him from the start but I think after an episode or 2 he turned into my favourite character.
  25. haha. And now, @King of Birds I don't think I've seen the movie, at least I don't recall seeing that.
