  1. I barely watched the games as a kid let alone as an adult. I prefer the winter olympics if I had to choose and usually only ice skating. I can't think of an event in the summer ones but Australians generally go crazy for the swimming. @King of Birds I can deal with them but I'd prefer not to. I couldn't even tell you what I don't like about them, the taste maybe. I just don't :P I also haven't watched any oitnb, I'm still plodding through Parks & Recs, mid way through season 5. I hear oitnb is a bit darker this season which I'm ok with. As long as Vee doesn't return I'm ok with anything. Are these available where you live? Milka with Oreo and Milka with Chips Ahoy - I don't think we can even buy Chips Ahoy here so I assume this is probably available in the US.
  2. I, uh... forgot about it :P Now you mention it though.. probably not. I tend to space out my shows, even if Netflix releases them all at the same time.
  3. Also 1, that photo of Martin Starr is terrible. 2, Michael Keaton? Awesome! Maybe it can be a marvel DC crossover and he can reprise the role of my favourite Bruce Wayne.
  4. True but I have driven before and would know the rules better than the 60 year old :P I have no issues with this system if I was a 16 year old with no experience but I'm not.. I'm just lazy :D if I had known my knowledge test had an expiry of 2 years I would have renewed my licence within that time to save having to do it again. Lol if you can work out getting avocados to me through customs I will start going to markets and selling them :D I didn't realise the prices of avocados were so crazy here, I don't like them.. so you can trust I won't eat our product :D
  5. So, I don't have my full licence. I never got it when I was a teenager (I got my provisional licence - not sure if that is a thing over there - and never renewed to a full licence) and let my "P's" expire. So 2 years ago I got my learners again. Over here you need to do a written knowledge test first and then you can get the licence. I did that but let the licence expire (only good for 2 years). I went to renew it today and found out I have to do the test again! I wouldn't mind so much except that the test is at another location and there are only 2 locations in my entire city. Further to that it annoys me that I have to do a road knowledge test twice in 2 years meanwhile a driver in their 60's who never had a knowledge test and hasn't had one since getting their licence doesn't need to do one after 40+ years of driving...
  6. Oh wow, it's not even a season long? Given the hype I always thought it was much longer. I might give it a try and just know I'll be disappointed with it ending so soon. I can't say I've ever done it (I don't even have a way of watching them) but I remember on sick days growing up my Mum would watch the soaps. She really liked Bold and the Beautiful for some reason and would catch up (as we know these shows move quite slowly) on months worth in a few days and then not see it again until she was next home. The song is pretty good. I have to say I wasn't expecting much. Today I had my 2nd B12 shot, I can't say whether it's doing anything or not but do think the iron supplement is doing a world of good (I actually feel awake these days). Although, (TMI time) it really makes your poo weird.
  7. But Martha did help save the world from The Master. And she did it on her own (without the doctor, that is), if anything she was more special than the others she just didn't play up how amazing she was and she got out before she got burnt by the doctor.
  8. Apparently I don't watch many current comedies as I only picked one. Come to think of it, I usually watch comedies after they're finished. I also didn't know iZombie was a comedy.. maybe I need to look into that again.
  9. I also work in IT and it drives me crazy :P Especially TJ Miller's character! I've watched all the episodes that have currently been released and I find myself thinking 'why am I still watching this, it frustrates me so much!' I had a similar feeling with Parks & Recs season 1 (and if I'm honest, with Michael in The Office.. I know that was entirely the point but sometimes he was so hard to watch without being annoyed constantly), I nearly didn't continue but Leslie's special kind of crazy (as well as all the other characters. Especially Andy, I couldn't stand him initially but I feel like his entire character was just to be a lazy jerk) grew on me and I'm at the beginning of season 5 now. Another reason my "I'm not going to Florida because Gators" stance is justified:
  10. what are your thoughts on Silicon Valley? It seems very will rated but I found it to mostly be pretty average and that none of the characters likeable except for Jared/Donald/Zach Woods.
  11. Ok then. I have also voted for that :D I have to say of the 3 (Daredevil, Jessica Jones & oitnb) I enjoy Jessica Jones the most and I knew nothing of her before watching the show. Tennant as Kilgrave is amazing!
  12. Where's Rick and Morty? Hah, I kid. Although I do ask where Jessica Jones is if you have Daredevil and oitnb as current. I also do hate gifs :P
  13. People actually say that to you? I can't imagine ever saying something like that to someone with allergies or intolerance to certain foods.
  14. I like the polls @King of Birds - even if just to tell you none of your options suit me :P
  15. I got my test results back today. I was telling everyone "ha, I'm not deficient in B12 and Iron.. why would I be? That's just crazy.. " well, funnily enough, my doctor knew better than me and I am actually quite deficient in B12 and I have to start getting shots for it next week. I kind of wonder how long this has been a thing for me and maybe the crap way I feel a lot of the time could have been fixed easily. Here's hoping anyway.
  16. He was definitely the best (looking) batman! I remember thinking "wow Val Kilmer is Batman, he's so beautiful!" and now I've looked it up and it was made when I was 12 and Val Kilmer was in his 30's and now I'm creeping myself out.
  17. Lol @King of Birds even more reason not to stop now.
  18. I looked it up @LiberryLady and it's not overly uncommon. Potentially related to being on BC but I'm not sure. The results came back fine at least and I'm never going to him again! Good luck @King of Birds, I will cry with you. I had blood tests yesterday checking my B12 and Iron levels and I assume they'll come back fine and the answer will be that I need to eat better and exercise more. I honestly get so sad when I have to re-healthify my diet. I know people say you get used to it and you just need to adjust to eating less sugar, fat, salt etc. but then I think "If I do this for months and re-adjust and then I go and have some chocolate, what if I hate it? I don't want to live a life where I don't like chocolate!" I also have similar feelings re: gluten and lactose. If someone told me I had an intolerance I think I'd give up on life and eat nothing but potato or something stupid. If anyone does have those intolerances, how did you adjust and how do you feel now about having to cut those things out of your diet?
  19. I went to the doctors today (unrelated to the above) and my test came back fine! *high five*. My doctor also gave me a med cert for 3 days! Woo! I really didn't expect that. He is making me get blood tests done though so there will be no sleeping in tomorrow as one of them is fasting tests boo! but 3 days off work this week is not too bad. Plus my ipad arrived this morning! It is shiny and new.
  20. That's a good point @Pixel, I've never had a nurse present but then in most cases pap tests here are just done by your local GP. It might be a bit different if I were to go to an actual gyno. I'm considering doing that if the results of this come back as abnormal or that it needs to be redone. I think I need to go to someone who does it for a day job rather than every so often :P Get my confidence back up about doing them.
  21. I had a doctor suggest that once too. It'd been longer than it should have been between tests and he said he could do it but a nurse would be in the room 'to hold your hand', needless to say I didn't go see him for it. It is a bit silly if a male doctor needs to have a female in attendance to make sure everything is above board. That's just crazy. I'm assuming female doctors don't need a male in attendance when their male patients may be undressed.
  22. I actually got requested to leave a review online from their booking system. I didn't go into specifics but basically said the experience was a bad one and I shouldn't have been able to book a doctor who wasn't taking new patients. That I also should have been advised before turning up of this or been able to see her anyway.
  23. TMI time, feel free to skip the following paragraphs I was up to 'pap smear time' and decided I should just get it over with and go. I had a doctor in mind (but had never been to her before) and booked online. She was pretty booked up so I got a stupid time (as far as working around work goes) and asked if I could work from home for the morning. I get there this morning only to be told "oh she doesn't take new patients... sorry" and my options were a different male doctor or none at all. I opted for the male doctor so I didn't have to organise time out of work again and tried to suck up the extra nerves the change of plan had given me. He calls me in and then asks me a thousand questions (which I assume are common) and kept pushing me on when my last one was. I kept saying 2 years and he kept asking as though I was lying or that I should have done it more often.. I actually just googled it and it says once every 3 but I always thought it was once every 2, anyway... we get down to 'pap smear time' and it just wasn't great.. I don't expect it to be a good experience but it was a pretty crap one. There was more blood than expected and he assured me how 'not good' that was. I don't know whether to think it really isn't good or that he was just so rough that he caused it. So, we're in the 'not good' stage and the phone rings... AND HE GOES AND ANSWERS IT! I have a speculum 'in place' and he went and answered the damn phone. So I have to go back in a month for a re-check up and in the mean time wait out the results of this one... instead of going to work I came home and ate a bunch of chocolate instead because I didn't want to have to deal with the thoughts of 'not good' at work.
  24. You're quite probably right.. I group anything that looks like that into 'lizard' for lack of knowledge of any other names :P And yes, initially he was a bit hesitant to embark on the journey up my arm but I think eventually realised life was quite warm there. Lol @King of Birds, can you please tell the cockatoos that screech outside my window at 7am to be a bit quieter?
