  1. I hope they send Bratti/Somerville to Worlds so that Green/Parsons can use that time to pack their bags and find a coaching team that understands them. They've had two underwhelming seasons now with MIDA. Do they really want to risk another with the Olympics only two years away? Caroline is young, but Michael turns 30 next year. Who knows how long he wants to continue.
  2. I'm glad I'm not the only person wondering this. I can't tell if I missed something while distracted or if this show is kind of awful at explaining character motivations. Maybe both.
  3. John Mulaney once said it best - "a hero is any man who does his job." This is the first episode I've watched since June maybe, and I can't get over how unrealistic the writing is for Trina and Spencer. (I mean, it's bad for everyone.) Never in my life have I seen two 19/20 year olds who are so obsessed with what their family members need vs themselves.
  4. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think GH will be able to avoid a shutdown now. SAG-AFTRA’s Negotiating Committee Unanimously Recommends Strike as Contract Deadline Passes Without a Deal
  5. I could be totally wrong, but I think the ATM photos were taken 3 days after he "died" during the stunt with the Lazarus Shroud. Monty didn't die for real until he got stuck in the piano during his funeral for his faked Lazarus Shroud death.
  6. There are so many things that I want for the final season, but one of the biggest things for now is no more new characters. If all we have left is eight episodes, I don't want to spend valuable time devoted to getting to know yet another side character who'll ultimately get killed off. I want whatever time we have dedicated to people that we already know and are invested in - that includes the mains and side characters like Mr. Clarke, El's mother and aunt, or even Kali. And if the Duffers feel they need more canon fodder to kill off, dip into the archives and bring back James and Troy from season one or even Steve's douchebag friends.
  7. I'll join the chorus of "Max should have stayed dead." Losing Sadie Sink would have been rough as she's one of the best actors they have, but continuing to cheat major characters out of death is tired. Either have the conviction to actually let them go, or stop putting them in these fake outs. Her death could have been such a driving force of getting the younger teens back together for one last stand in season five. I'm scared that Max's coma means that she'll (and possibly Lucas by extension) spend half of next season sidelined, much like Hopper and Joyce were this year.
  8. Didn't Greg briefly coach at WISA? If that's the case, I could see them wanting to train with someone they're already familiar with. Plus, Caroline has talked about plans for college, so it would make sense for them to choose Michigan. On the other hand, I'd love to see what a powerful school like IAM could do with them.
  9. I might be willfully naive, but I refuse to believe they'll actually kill Steve. Knowing him, he'll end the series thoroughly concussed and likely still single, but I think he'll be left standing. If he does get killed off, I don't see it happening until the end of season five. In the meantime, if they want to get rid of Jonathan, I won't be mad about it.
  10. I'll be very curious to see if this week's episode picks back up with "Who Said That". I dug my copy of the book out this weekend and had forgotten just how brutal some of it is. I couldn't agree more with everything that @Asp Burger had to say about Jamie and his smugness. I had also forgotten how judgmental Matt came off in the book, particularly towards Kelley which I always found strange because I barely remember them interacting. I'd also love if they brought up in the book where Kelley shared that early in filming, Julie claimed that Melissa had been nasty about Kelley behind her back. I think it came out after that Julie allegedly fed the same story to Melissa, and essentially pitted Kelley and Melissa against each other the whole season. Although I'm sure, like the emails, Julie would magically have no recollection of that ever happening. Here's the quote, in case anyone's curious:
  11. RW Homecoming has set off my internet stalking lately and I've fallen down a rabbit hole looking for just about anyone from the first ten seasons of RW and RR. For all the Timmy and Christian fans out there, looks like they were very recently reunited with Susie on her instagram.
  12. Speaking of the car accident, did anyone else find it strange that there seemed to be no cars who pulled over to help? They weren't driving down an abandoned road, there was a fair amount of traffic and I think it's pretty far fetched that no one stopped after witnessing a minivan go flying off the highway.
  13. Big congratulations to Caroline Green and Michael Parsons for winning gold at 4CC with a personal best score of 119.97 (200.59 total)! According to Jackie Wong, they're only the 8th team to break 200 points internationally (in events that record personal best scores) this season. I'm still disappointed they won't be at the Olympics, but I think this will be a big boost for them going into the next quad.
  14. I'm afraid we'll have to wait a little longer to see Kaitlin and Jean-Luc, USFS just announced that they've had to pull out of NHK due to concussion protocol. I feel awful for them, they've had the worst luck.
  15. I prefer Gr/P's RD to H/D's, too. Shame about her fall in the FD today. I'd love to see those two get that third Olympic spot this year.
  16. Here's what I was able to find. Hopefully they'll stay up, I've noticed some of the videos from the Cranberry Cup have been disappearing/reappearing. Alysa Liu - Cranberry Cup 2021 FS Vincent Zhou FS - 2021 Cranberry Cup International Ashley Cain-Gribble & Timothy LeDuc - 2021-22 Senior Short Program Caroline Green / Michael Parsons FD
  17. I loved Hamilton, but in my opinion it should have never been eligible for the Emmys. I was genuinely shocked that it managed to get seven acting nominations. Here's hoping that none of them win. They've already got Tonys and Grammys, and I'd rather see the Emmy go to an actor or actress who was actually on a television show.
  18. I had a terrible feeling that Zabel wasn't going to make it, but that doesn't mean it hurts any less 😭. It was such a breath of fresh air to see Evan Peters outside of the Ryan Murphy universe. I hope he's able to parlay his brief stint here into better opportunities. Also, Jean Smart deserves all of the awards. She's able to balance the comedy and the heartbreak perfectly.
  19. According to the articles I've read, the reboot is going to be mostly new characters and focus on - "a young journalist with a secret agenda comes to expose the dark and murderous history of a town named Pine Valley only to become entangled in a feud between the Kane and Santos families." So I'd guess we'll see Kelly and Mark, Susan, and Eva pop up. And I wouldn't be surprised at all if ABC tries to get SMG. Landing her would be a big win for them. One thing that does make me feel better is knowing Agnes Nixon's son is an executive producer. Also, the Deadline article has some good information about Andrew Stearn, who is another producer.
  20. The ISU has all of the skates from last night up on their channel. I had assumed they would be geo-blocked but it looks like they're not. ETA: Looks like they're blocked now 😠.
  21. Heather Goldenhersh is listed as playing "The Matron" on IMDb. I somehow recognized her from her like, 30 second bit part on Sex and the City twenty (!) years ago.
  22. Not surprising, but I'm disappointed nonetheless. What I wouldn't give to be able to see some of those performances from the 90s again. I know most of them can be found on youtube, but the quality is so poor 😢.
  23. Speaking of commentators, I wonder what sort of training Tanith had to go through in order to change her voice. There was an interview with her and Ben after the Torino free dance and her voice was so different. It was much higher than it is now, to the point where I'm not sure I would have recognized her if I hadn't been looking at the screen.
  24. Thanks for the correction! I listened to the audiobook during my commute (back when that was a thing) and some of the details clearly got lost.
  25. Not really sure how I feel about some of the changes made in the most recent episode, specifically Mia's relationship with Pauline (and Anita) and the circumstances of Izzy's birth. I think there are a lot of ways to be intimate with someone, and I preferred the more maternal intimacy of Mia and Pauline from the book. I also think Mia and Anita's relationship made a lot more sense in the book. Pauline and Anita had really gone out of their way to take care of Mia, and so of course Anita would continue that after Pauline's death. As opposed to the show where they only seemed to know each other through Pauline. And I thought it was much more interesting how in the book Izzy was wanted and planned for, but her premature birth and subsequent health concerns are what put such a strain on her relationship with Elena. I think the accidental pregnancy in the show felt much less complex and almost a little cheap. I know they touched upon Izzy being a difficult baby, but I don't think that had the same emotional reach.
