  1. No symbolism that I could see other than Leonard getting to have an actual childhood. I was the kind of kid who turned ropes for double dutch but only tried it once. I'm not sure that scene was for real, sadly. It was one of those episodes you could plunk anywhere. But yes, Amy did have the glow and Sheldon was unusually social. I appreciated the how subtle the new closeness was and that we got to see Amy even though there was no real part for her. Oh good gawd kill off pathetic Stuart already. I only endured it because it might lead the couple to realise Stuart was a pet or child and that they could handle one. They looked like he went off to college while they were sitting on his bed. I was wondering what happened to the old 80's bed and why the couple moved into Mrs. Wallowitz's room. Now we know. I can't wait for the big remodel. The kid? Not so much but I'm just speculating. I guess what I didn't like is that we'll probably never see psychiatrist sessions again, just like we'll never see the band again. Then again, it was about missing things and thinking about the past so that tied it together for me thematically. There's a media topic here, guys. But being a veteran of many, many TBBT reruns, the format is always the same. Intro, theme song, first segment. An ungodly number of commercials splitting the show in half. Second part. More damned commercials but maybe only 4 min. When you've zoned out they stick in a 30 second ender that I mostly miss. I wish I'd have missed this one. Then the vanity card. Thankfully although I'm without a DVR I am a speed reader. The vanity card said because of the new year there will be no vanity card. Maybe even Lorre didn't like the episode. I hate it that Penny's big step up is being a sleazy pharma rep. I hate it big time and it makes me dislike Bernie even more for getting her into it because her morals have been in question for a while. She sold herself out to make a buttload of money for big pharma. Can everyone stop picking on Leonard? He's very self aware so being stomped on all the time is not funny. I know they needed something for Sheldon to do but thank you Lorre godz for not involving Raj's odd girlfriend who doesn't fit in with anybody. Sheldon was delightful and I loved Amy's smiles.
  2. I guess they've been watching Downton. But the butlers and the Nanny Marys have been great. After all, the haves and have-nots (us) are statistically pretty equivalent again a hundred years later.
  3. It wasn't a huge story at the time it was posted as someone's tweet. I get it that people are dancing happily. Comings and goings are definitely spoilers. It's news about the future often with a bunch of speculation.
  4. The fact that Eric caused the accident doesn't disqualify him from good medical care. Doctors don't, or shouldn't, think like that. Organs would go to the recipient with the best chance. Leaving it up to Mags is completely unrealistic. Science.
  5. I'm 60 days late on my mortgage having lost a crummy retail job I didn't totally hate but in my mid 50's the lifting is just too much. I love the snot out of my cat. We take turns sneezing on each other, She's what they call a tuxedo cat and all my pictures are too big for the requirements here. I hope I can get the words to ask my son to pay this month's internet to keep in touch with you all. I avoid putting my college degrees on applications these days or they think what is wrong with you that you want to work here.
  6. Spoilers are by nature something discussed in media and conveyed by someone in a place where it's known others don't seek out that kind of media. I'm not sure what the press means anymore. Still, great news. I can't blame anyone for being excited to share it!
  7. Wow, she answered questions out of turn? I just will not read her interviews since "stockholm syndrome" sticks in my head. Earlier today someone said she learned to be a mother in the cabin. Huh? Fun post to read, daysgoneby, but there are a few rules. For one thing we're off topic so we should be in Sands topic. No spoilers either in Current Plots even about comings and goings. Ha ha I'll bet she's trying to get jobs. If you have info on that I'd like to read it in Sands or Spoilers. Um, I don't know what acting like a lesbian means but that won't be tolerated here. Just trying to help. I think she's taken it up a notch, not that it's helping. It looks like she got a little bit of help from the new writers but that was months ago and it isn't getting any better. And yes about Jenn. Her having to tell us that Failure is the most amazingly best mom and she loves Thomas so much honey made me queasy. Because she marched off to interfere with Chad while her newborn was in the hospital and she made me forget about the baby too.
  8. I'm sorry, I want to put this in Bitterness but I'm blanking out on how to carry over a quote. I think what you're describing is what's happening now with Chabby. There's a LOT more media these days. Back when we had Bo and Hope, Shane and Kim, Patch and Kayla, Jenn and Jack, their relationships were years in the making. They weren't destroyed the moment they got happy. They weren't continually subjected to triangles and squares. That changed with Belle/Mimi/Shawn/Philip. They went on adventures and took it slowly. There's enough going on in any relationship without needing interlopers. Dead Like Me is in my top TV series. Damn, I just found out a young Ellen Muth played young Selina in Dolores Claiborn and nailed it because it's running on TV repeats and I don't have cable. The pivotal point for me was when she examined why she didn't try to run away from the toilet seat. And reestablished her relationship with little sister Reggie. She was likeable because it took death for her to examine her lost young life. Nothing like we're seeing in failure. Sorry to be so off topic, guys and girls.
  9. I totally agree about Kate. The paternity reveal, however, was sweet because I expected it to be dragged out through spring. It wasn't even a spoiler since everybody knew from the get go it would be Chad's. This is the second Dimera with whom Days has been trying to tie Abi spawn. And I'm bitter about that.
  10. She was likeable at the end. As is usual with Days. I wouldn't have minded an appearance and mixing up the psycho killer story a bit, and having a part in it. As much screen time as that story took, you know. She could have worked with Chad and finished things with Rafe. Not every plot has to end in a romance.
  11. I'm still glad I quit Days during the Colleen story. The background is very appreciated. But I still don't care who Jawn is.
  12. There is no way I can see JS returning to Days. Ever. Why would he want to? He and AS were screwed over with their exit. Although the morgue scene still makes me cry. JS, unlike AS, was vocal about not liking some of the storyline with KM and TB. In interviews he is smart, funny and goodness he is handsome. Why in the world does he need Days? Besides, I thought he was meditating in Tibet or something. AS comes across as a lot more loyal and compliant to TPTB. She basically grew up on the show. I don't know the actor pictured above but I could definitely see a recast possible and I'd be ok with that. Because he ain't coming back. I would prefer him back to the ridiculous Andre business going on as resident heir. When I was spoiled that Philip would be coming back I hoped they'd write him feuding with Chad and the Dimeras again. Young heir against young heir. But no. Must have this forced "supercouple" instead for failure to suck up all of Chad's time. Plus we get this Andre nonsense along with half of Chad's personality being brainwashed out of him.
  13. Words out of KM's mouth is a horrible way to wake up in the morning.
  14. Felicia was on Another World which aired right after Days but it took me many years to watch it. Carly was Chrystal Chappel who played Bo's other lover besides Hope and Billie. She is who was retconned to have conceived Mela-me with Tanniel. So somehow they are Hortons because Tanniel was a donated egg baby from Mags. Pretzels. But Mela-me had a nice relationship with Mags, it's true. ETA Vic stole the Maggie eggies and gave them to his friend which resulted in Tanniel. That's why his son is called Parker after his birth mother. And Mags is just a Horton by marriage.
  15. I know it's a leap of faith that since Chase and Ciara etc were sorased it follows that they spent years together and should have been given an ornament, etc. But no. I just presume they were almost that old anyway. Chase looks to be longing for Ciara but she's shut that down. I'll give it a half ick seeing as I opine they haven't known each other for even two years. What I don't like, but what was a great scene, was Rafe saying you're not your father. He should know. But poor Chase appears to be falling into that role. It's a repeat of JJ to be sure, but could result in good story if done well. I just hope he doesn't get an idea of kidnapping a girl down the road, it's my dread. It was easy to miss but Chase had an aunt in chicago? who wanted him but he didn't want to go. Great of Hope to raise him. She's paying a little bit more attention these days. I know we're getting maybe too many storylines and not always the payoff but it's so much better than it was, so we get to wonder. I haven't thought about Felicia falling through the skylight for years. Thank you!
  16. After failure's failures what sticks in my head is the awful music we were subjected to for two days. Is Corday composing again? All I could do was try to rule out what type of music it wasn't. And those slitherine silhouette dancers looking like something out of Dieter's Sprockets. Eeyore Eric, as lame as ever, head bopping now? If it had been Jesus Is Just Alright by the Doobie Brothers my butt would have hit the floor laughing. But he was a highly amusing drunk stumbling around that dark plane hangar. I'll always think of him crying in a hoodie though. Oh, didn't even Joey say upon arriving and once again there's another dj in another room? The music was that bad. Jenn has some terrible writing again. First she doesn't flinch when upon failure's rescue she's giddy about Chad and checking her texts while being reunited with plot point baby. Today she has no real reaction to the paternity reveal other than a word or two and watching her run around giddy over finding Chad. I don't expect her to pile on but if she falls back on the honey thing much more I will have to decide whether to drink or kick her hard in the shins. At least we got a scrap of failure saying I thought my son's father was a psycho killer. If only we'd have seen a hint when it looked like she wasn't bonding with the kid, that it was an issue... I kept waiting for it. Not sure which is worse: Smirk mouth or guppy mouth. Joey. Unless Ava was 16 when she met Steve and Bo, chasing a 60 yr old and leading on a 16 hr old Joe (I think Steve's supposed to be playing a bit younger though) makes no sense. And we have to deal with TB on top of it. Disappointed he's a Bears fan so close to Packer country. The man suffers, that's for sure. I don't find it impossible Joe's attracted to her but not the dating and wanting to act on it part. Good lord is Gabi gorgeous. I was hoping to see her in more than the 2 outfits. Sparkle nicely fills his role as a spokesmodel. That's all I want to see of him. ETA I think I've always been on the Theresa train because there was no way they were going to let her do drugs, etc, indefinitely. I always saw it as her being put on a redemption arc. And she had the chops to pull it off. Belle? I don't see her changing at all but I'll be surprised if she does. Sometimes I prefer lines like "you can try" (to ask me out again) than the simpering Theresa and Nicole have been written to do .
  17. I'm often stuck watching Days on NBC online and they always show credits.
  18. Catching up on all the great comments but Belle was shown leaving way too detailed messages on a possibly abandoned cell phone message box about wanting to give it back. I like her backbone but not the way she sneered Theresa for no reason. I don't get how a 16 year old Claire's singing was all that bad. She has tone, maybe not pitch. She shouldn't be propped but she looks like a sweet young girl. I like Ciara too. She has the stiffness of her mother. I wonder if black is for mourning or if she's old school goth. Or wants to be a biker like her dad. I even liked Doug for once because unfortunately he's not saying anything new. The failer mantle was thrown down three years ago when I said WTF over failure reading the xmas story that Alice and Tom used to do. I thought, who the hell is she. Now she named her baby Thomas - who we all guess is a Dimera - while living in the free house from Alice. Let Jenn be the matriarch, please. She was Jenn-uinly happy to see everyone. Lucas made me cry. I love him so much. Nice touch with the text from Allie. He recalled Will's first xmas. I just posted a pic of my son's first xmas with his lost father and grandpa. Handing over the starring role to failure is the reason we hate her. She doesn't deserve it. Yet, as far as I've counted, she's been featured every damn day for weeks. I was even glad a bit to see Tanniel after a break. Are there really failure hounds propping fans? Hope's face nailed the grief. Other than sparse attendance at the Horton House, xmas scenes were very satisfying and I appreciated the sad nature being appropriate. ETA: Writers never got over their intention to give failure an EJ baby before he said he'd have none of it. That's why it's so stupid now except Chad is so cute.
  19. A couple of those fired I didn't know about. Not saying who or I'd post a spoiler or rather put it somewhere else than Current Plots. Disappointed.
  20. I'm just grateful someone's still up since I haven't talked to a live person today. Pleasant dreams everyone and happy holidays.
