Current Plots Discussion: Actually Today's Episode

I had a Chatty Cathy when I was very, very small. And a Mrs. Beasley (still a big fan). And a Dancerina until the batteries rusted her butt out. One doll a year back then. I still have my last Velvet doll from age 10. Yes, I liked dolls for a long time. I guess Bollie's time limit is up. His slippery vinyl sheen has worn off. No wonder. At least the Westons have been put on the back burner. Until tomorrow probably. -

"Lucas could have told Will he was upset to realize that Will was now doing things the way Kate and Sami do, and the way Lucas used to, and that wasn't what he wanted for his son." I completely agree with everything else about your great post but Will never has a plan. He just founders and acts out and stopped giving lip service to getting marriage counseling. What a great use of Lucas to do the things you suggest. -

Yeah, this show. Won't refuses to go to the hospital because he's embarrassed for being knocked out so he can have reluctant sex with Jackson, and an hour later Jackson spills the embarrassment to Chad then walks away to let Sparkle and Weasel duke it out in the same nipple exposing shirts (stop the Little League shirts. Please.) Now that I think about it Sonny probably made the right decision. -
Yup, that's sort of how the rape that resulted in Johnny (and saving Lucas's life) was "justified". Lumi was really happy back then. Isn't that when they broke the bed?

EJ was sent by Stephano to procreate with Samantha.

Wind beneath my wings? I hurt myself laughing from that one, boes. I was actually scared her blouse would ride up. And here I thought the best quote was telling JJ he buried his sadness in her mother. EEEWWW. I guess their first time wasn't all that. I didn't like Mophead Will. He was kind of sweet in a young, dorky way but Chandler blew him out of the water. Yes, Will would be about 21 he graduated from college a year ago. I think of Jackson as being about 25 and Sparkle no older than that. When he was relating his history it sounds like he went from high school into a couple of years in major league. I liked the MR/KdP scenes today. BTW I don't think it's any harder to remember nicknames like Won't and Abifail than to remember all of the actors' initials and nicknames are tons of fun. We don't use DHer and DHim here but I kinda like those. Speaking of DHer, the old clips were a pretty decent sendoff for Stephono. But instead of letting me mourn him being pushed out of a window (jeez, Days, glass didn't stop Kritter from plunging but it's ok to leave two pieces of police tape there?) he's propping the Failure? Please, please, please no baby Eej. Kimber fulfilled all of my expectations of annoyance. I loved Ann mouthing "wow." Poor Jeannie T, kicked under the sofa by KdP once again. -

I don't watch Sparkle anymore he's pushed even more than Abifailure. I'm saying this after having survived MarRoomba's bed levitation days. -

At least we know which scenes Days thinks are important by the number of people they pay to attend. I loved Kayla's subtle performance. ETA I agree LP. Melly was only going to be there for six months and today she made it all about her. Sorry but I'll always blame a middle aged lady like me for taking advantage of an 18 year old. EETA I have to give props to Jen for conveying that she finally gets it. But good dog why doesn't a falling space shuttle toilet seat just kill Failure dead. And she forgot her pants. -

Damn it's not like she ever has to buy her own clothes or food or rent or anything. Back when she was born I would never believe how much I would detest this kid. -

Well, I wanted Rory to deliver pizzas and hear things but he's still asweome. Rory vids! -
Trying to watch the car mom a little bit but what's the deal about all the proper grooming makovers and rich people wasting money. I doubt this show will be cancelled for 10 years. $hill is creating new levels of judgement isn't he.

Eve was invited and that's why Jen Jen walked in to remind her and told her to get the phone notifications (from JJ) she said she'd attend but I'm glad she didn't. ETA oops ETA since we're asking questions I missed if Cole lost his phone and JJ got it or if he bought a new phone (pamphlet) so how did he fool Southern? Days needs to post the I caught you photo too. They could put those on the FB page I quit a long time ago. -

Well to be fair it was the day before her bd and I expect the old people wanted them to consummate their whatever the next day. Not that they're nosy or anything. To be fair, Paige doesn't like almost everybody. And nobody likes JJ because he's evil you know. Since he made a mistake or two over having Jacosta for his parent and his dad dying. Not impressed with KDP again today. Her overacting might qualify as satire if she went that route like Kristen. Especially in the batgirl dress. -

I very, very rarely mute scenes but oh boy did Sparkle leave a big turd on today's episode. I couldn't care less about him confronting Jawn about the Conference Table Sex That Scarred Sami, especially since Sami should be part of that story. And he's using it to justify his lust for Sonny. So it's out there, Sparkle will do whatever it takes and Will was right to keep him out of Salem. IMHO. Speaking of Jawn how stupid was MarRoomba? After being parachuted into Salem Park Where Everything Bad Happens, her priority is to find out how it's going with Sparkle? Nevermind she was kidnapped to Italy, her life threatened, and threatened some more on a plane flight home to nowhere. Only sparkle's important right now. The Sparkle Saga was really unnecessary since we really wanted to see Paige deck JJ. I'm not a fan of the slappiness but that was great. I was a little bummed they would leave it at the turd cake on the floor. I LOVE it every time Failure is clueless about what's going on but did we have to keep looking at that huge jaw hanging open? The shoehorning of KM was bad. Ha ha did Rory get the whole thing on video? Wow he's growing up. Makes me feel a little icky for liking him for a long time. If Days can put Will's articles online they can post Rory's video too! Also a big laugh at Dingy Dan. When JJ said "we did it" even DD shook his head as if thinking what a novice you are, you need to lie to women better than that. At least he kept his mouth shut. I thought Jen did a great job today with the guilt aging. I like Chad even if we can't figure out what he's up to. Anybody notice he has a weird kind of sparkle in his eye and he sort of freezes into a smirk? But he seems like a pretty intelligent person unlike some on this show. What's with Stephono asking if he's getting back together with the Failure? I thought he was engineering some kind of ultimate humiliation for her. In my dreams. Haystack Hair should be Naggie's new nickname LMAO. -
I don't think he does it much anymore but taking and reading tweets is annoying when you have a roomfull of audience who are bound to silence as well as a dress code. I don't know, to direct people to the web site where they will see lots of ads? ETA Spacely Sprockets LMFAO.

What's his name was supposed to be transferred to Newcastle, which I've never thought of as poor the way Trixie seems to. Maybe the bishop (?) anticipated sending a married couple there and now that's fallen through. Thalidomide mom looked great after she stopped barfing 20 times a day. I can see why the doctor was glad to see her being able to continue the pregnancy (she was severely dehydrated) and get custody of her oldest back. Unfortunately I kept looking at her tummy and she looked maybe like early second trimester? I wonder if we'll get the results next season.

Boy, you've got that right. I'm still surprised when it happens. Once I worked with a team of married ladies (see, they're ladies, I'm a girl) and I mentioned my sister in law they all shot their faces at me and one said how do YOU have a sister in law. Well, my brother is married. That and comparing their rings a lot or ribbing in that they don't have to worry about their car, their finances, etc their husband does it for them while laughing at me when I'm stupid enough to ask for advice. This happens on a regular basis. What's kind of funny is I went out with my older half siblings for xmas and I was stuck with the women talking zumba class when I wanted to be with my brothers sorting out how Medicaid works. I was born in 61 so the show is quite interesting to me now being set in that time. It's so much about women's issues I can't help but think how things have changed. My brother was given a car and life insurance, later on my father told me I didn't need those things because I was going to get married. Same, I suspect, with no support at all for putting myself through college. I'm damned proud I did but but when I got pregnant in college there was no help at all for my baby and broken car because the guy was supposed to marry me. Thanks for marrying my mom but dad it wasn't 1961 anymore. The show does throw a lot of storylines at us but I'll always remember Ameera in her beautiful Indian dresses and the girl from last season with Down's Syndrome. Of that poor ship captain's daughter. I love the way Shelagh is glowing these days but at the same time the Turners' expressions were horrifying over the rather miraculous way thalidomide helped the sick lady. I knew instantly when Shelagh asked about pharmaceutical reps it would be thalidomide. I love the writing for Timothy. I'm with some of you in that Chummy's tinkety-boo stuff is grating. They made such a point of her mother being upper class it's as if she's trying to talk "street" for lack of a better word. I believe Trixie is an alcoholic mostly because she herself knows it's a problem for her or she wouldn't be asking for help. I'm haunted by her looking at herself in the mirror last episode having dropped her facade I got the idea she's scared she doesn't know who she really is. She went from entertaining her dad to entertaining the other midwives. Delivering a baby she feels like she's part of a happy family for an hour or two. So sad. I still don't think what's his name was right for her though.

Dingy Dan and Failure would take on qualities of theatre of the absurd. They could constantly judge each other until it circles around and around. I would tune in. Since Dirty Dan wants to argue all the time and Failure likes to gape (mouth or legs, your pick) at any confrontation it would be perfect. Add in the ick factor with a girl 25 years younger and Days has it made. If they were really smart they'd take it to a Passions level of satire. ETA I work with a big clomping bug eyed Serena who has been here one month and thinks she's a manger. But she was wrong before that. Every single import has been wrong except for maybe Original Ariana. As for the overacting and twitching with Melly someone needs to sit KDP down too. -

She did, thank goodness. I read Shadow Sixx's recap to try to figure out why he was interrogating her like that. I've said it before but as a real life couple what a dud they are. And I was glad to see Bollie Whatever get up and walk away from Failure too. Granted, he did spy but if he goes dark there might be a storyline. I had to laugh over Melanie meaning black or dark. I knew that but the last name is already Black! Melanie Black might be a good villianess name. But Hell I'd prefer Melvin over Tater. Poor JL she has to call him Baby Tate but she sold it. I'd rather see that conversation than having stupid Mel in the room hearing it second hand. How about Victor Brady Donovan Black? Remember on Sex in the City when Carrie's bf - the one who bought the next door apartment and tried to tear down the wall - ended up married and calling his baby Tate. "We call him Tater because he looks like a tater." Either that or Larry Tate. Or Black, Tate. -

Xander manhandled Serena. And now he keeps pulling the rug under Nicole, every day telling her to leave and then not to. Corday really hates Nicole. He doesn't have a cute face either. Good riddance but what a waste of a storyline. Is it true there's a coup on Corday? -
Yeah, what was the point of that? His sleep deprivation expert? I dunno, maybe it was big news in CA when it happened. $hill likes those stories. On top of it all, more rich people with problems. I kept looking at those marble pillars. I'm not sure how you go from living in an "awful" apartment that made her husband angry and her daughter inconvenienced to something like that. If she is mentally ill it sounds to my untrained ears she has bouts of mania that would explain the activity ordering the magazines, etc. that $hill couldn't understand. Certainly she's angry, at the very least.
