Current Plots Discussion: Actually Today's Episode

I think show was trying to remind us of Theo's autism (that he seemed to magically outgrow a few years back) therefore the inappropriate behavior, Abe using distraction techniques and Chad saying he gets used to a routine. That little shit gets away with everything. I don't find it cute either other than she's a good little actress for being able to play those notes. She has a disturbing interest in her mother kissing, doesn't she? I'm worried for Casper, he's more vulnerable than Theo used to be and she'll get others into serious trouble with her controlling nature and disgusting love of money. I hoped she'd grow up to be the next Sami when I actually bought her sadness about her daddy being gone. But Sami wasn't mercenary just looking for love. You could see the scene with Sparkle taking off his shirt coming down the street, around the corner and up the hall. Duh. I'm beginning to like Tori speaking up a little more but "Tori Simpson" name cracked me up. Will's Bert and Ernie sweater looked particularly awful next to Mar's refreshingly casual look. I have no idea why JarJar thinks she needs to have her picture taken with the kids. I decided I like seeing BD in action more than I find JE to be pretty yet not really sexy, so I watched. I felt for her when she said it's been a long time. And I like the way they talk to each other The tattoo distracted me. Ok, now that we've established they did it, it should never happen again. -

I don't get it either but that's my problem with a lot of charities. And then you've got the Koch Brothers who vow to spend enough money in 2016 amounting to nearly a million per citizen. What I found particularly disgusting is when JarJar grinned and said if "these" kids get a full meal they'll think it's Christmas! Effing heartless. Oh, and her "heading up alone" that charity as Bollie was sure to announce the other day, is laughable for a sociopath like JarJar. Re Baby Ari, legal rights and physical placement are two different things, at least when I went through it. There may not even be paperwork involved saying Will has physical custody since it was clear Gabi couldn't. When she gets out if they can't work out a shared arrangement they might take it to court but she was awfully dependent on the men to watch Gabi. OTOH she might come out of jail saying you had her for ten years, she's mine now. I was channel hopping and Lucas and Adrienne were arguing. The next thing I knew they were kissing. No, just no. ETA I have to give a shout out to Mama Norita for telling Sparkle to just write a check! -

I love anyone giving Failure grief just to see the stricken look on her face, even if it is for the wrong reasons. Adrienne seems pretty concerned about Chad being a big bad Dimera so it wasn't exactly about her being in the wrong with EJ but I'll take it. Hope, however, was closer to Sami and I did not see her defending Bollie but rather noting she's all but throwing herself at Chad. I'm clinging to the hope Chad leads the Failure on and on causing Bollie to leave town. Creepy Clyde would follow his bo-woy. Then Chad drops her ass big time as payback for what EJ and Sami couldn't or wouldn't do while calling her out on every rotten thing she's done. I'm debating whether I think Hope should go tell her Cuz (if I could slap Hope, it would be for saying Cuz) the truth about how loose her daughter is. Not that I want Jenn more involved in her kids' lives but good lord Racoon and her amphibian spawn are delusional. -

Re Abifail: I'm stunned they are still trying to convince us of a lie...or a rewrite? All it does is remind me of how bad she and the storyline are after we've all tried so hard to forget how she was featured in Sami's exit. I detest her for all of the history you all have so nicely outlined. And yet she rides the coattails of Jenn who alternately invites her to gossip over her brother's sex life, then sometimes tells her to back off which lasts for about a week. At least she knows Failure is too stupid to be let into the secret with JJ. Jenn NEVER sat her ass down over EJ after all that terrible history. All she did was block her poor widdle baby girl's FB page for her while Abs went around confronting everybody as if she was in the right so she could pop that guppy grin while her head was being patted over and over. I think it gets personal with me because the actress seems to have no insight at all into the role she is playing. If Days played it the way we see it, maybe with others commenting among themselves about the two, it could be interesting and lead to insight. But I guess not. The way she treats JJ is a polar opposite to the permission she gives Abs to do whatever. But I can't forget the scene on the sofa during the time when Abs was pitting Cameron against Chad to win the Holy Horton Hooha and Jen laughed at the fact Abs was a virgin. "..but I thought.." So maybe she's grateful the JarJar shows some signs of being a human. HOW IS JENN NOT ASKING ABOUT THE MANNEQUIN?? Again, I don't think either actress has insight as to what role they are playing. -

QuelleC replied to Rick Kitchen's topic in Days Of Our Lives
If we're lucky it'll get caught in an escalator. Seriously though I thought it was an improvement until I saw it went down to her knees. It's whatever she's doing to her hair that I find distracting. -
I hate Dark Roast, even a shaved one, as much as the next person (Chelsea and Kate around the dinner table at Vic's, groping Chloe) but he's right that Harpy Jenn has no clue what she's about to explode. No, he shouldn't be inserting himself and manhandling women AT ALL but what Jenn is doing is really, really stupid. I can only hope it will end in an epic blowout. Thank dog for CM. If they'd have a GW type in that role how detestable would that story be. Those kids should have run off to Stanford months ago. Mommies would give their honeys lots of money regardless. Speaking of honeys, if I insisted on pet names for my adult child he would either have said WTF you haven't called me honey since I was 3. Or, STFU you've been calling me honey since I was 3. More unpopular is that Sparkle was right, he did pressure, threaten and seduce young-ish dumb Will. I'm not sure what his angle is in admitting it but I'm sure there is one. Maybe just in getting Jackson alone so a snorting Will could show up. Funny how everyone ditched TBD today. As someone who cleans cap and espresso machines lmfao. T is the gift that gives and gives. Give me some, T. I don't mind the Aussie guy either if he sweeps Nicky off her feet. Jackson can't adopt Ari or scoop her away to CA. She has two living parents on her birth certificate, neither of whom would ever sign away their parental rights. He's been a better parent until the club started taking more time but the adoption thing is just silly.

Didn't it get her fired too? Then her homophobic comment a while back didn't make things any better. I used to like her spunk back in the day with Jack. She and Nicole should be running Jack's paper together (with Will as a reporter). But no, we have to see her show up once every week or two to do PR so she can be with Failure 24/7. Why do we have to have Sonix when the Salem Spectator should still be around. I don't read all the interviews but I understand Jen Lilly is quite religious as is MR in her mormonism, but JL while uncomfortable with some aspects of Theresa, doesn't bring it to the show. -
Ugh, I remember Thursday's show with the brothers. At times I couldn't tell which was the heavier one. $Shill ends up giving them his book. And I'm really done with the "can this toxic relationship be healed" stories. Anything to keep an abusive marriage intact is his agenda. One only has to "man up and be a hero" and "stop acting like a victim", am I right? Sometimes I wonder if it's all about the free trip to South Padre they might get.
-
It was a rerun. Crazy litigious nanny (sued her family multiple times and disowned her) and the privileged stay at home mom were news a few months before $Shill got them on the show. So another example of $Shill trying to insert himself into the news. Nasty mother did herself no favors since before we met them the elderly "nanny" seemed in the wrong. She was, but nasty mother gave nanny a room and no pay in exchange for watching her kids any time of the night or day. There was a mention of her trying to start of a business but yeah, sure. Nanny should have left but they got the nanny they deserved.

Well, knew it was going to be a "show" but now I know how many times I can call bullshit in under an hour on everyone involved.

The slap, while I don't agree with doing anything like that, felt satisfying because it was something Jackson would never do and I could easily imagine Abifail on the receiving end of that huge smack. Adrienne wasn't messing around. And I didn't see it coming except it came on the heels of Sneasel daring to tell his mother in law repeatedly that while he didn't know Sparkle's involvement with Sonny, the words of his proposal sounded the same and he knew it was Sonny. Wait, he didn't know it was Sonny but that's why he cheated? So with that nonsense he insinuated that Sonny's proposal to Sneasel was insincere, at the very least? Does Sneasel not care that both of their families made more than a few adjustments in accepting and supporting the relationship? Sneasel's nonsense is insulting to them too. While I don't support slapping (I don't know anyone who slaps either) I have to hope it knocked some sense into him or at least warned him he has to stop this garbage. Now. I mean, he's not even trying to make things better. Going around admitting to the family he cheated to me comes off as wanting to get his side of the story heard first. -

Wisconsin here and everything Boes says is correct, I'm one of those Germans raised Lutheran and as a kid I though most people were Catholic based on the number of churches and parish schools since each nationality built its own. I'd be surprised if there's a big brat culture in Iowa but I hope so. Let's hear it for cheese curds so fresh they squeak! So I identify a lot with Salem due to the proximity. OT so I'll bow out now. -

OT but speaking of Real World Sean Duffy is still a House Representative in WI. He spawned 7 kids with Rachel also of The Real World and together they work to destroy Wisconsin. He hasn't been heard from much since he complained about his $174,000 salary in a town hall meeting a few years ago. -

Hope constantly seems to be in her own storyline weirdly disconnected from the show. I'm glad I wasn't too emotionally invested in the murder mystery in the cabin. I checked out because I didn't enjoy Aiden manhandling and threatening her then turning out to be a good guy so I guess since we "knew" that all the violent behaviour is ok... If there's one thing Hope endorses it's denying the truth of her children. Just like her Cuz. Now Haiden are glowing with love and their seemingly perfect(ly disturbed) children. It's like it never happened. I thought I saw Abe sniffing out the truth about how Aiden would do anything to protect his child. I know there's not a statute of limitations on murder investigations but in what world would a four year old be blamed for poor motor skills? I think it was a rewrite when they had this occur FIVE YEARS AGO when Caspar was allegedly four because I understood they left Portland as the event had occurred in the past year or so. The kid who played Caspar in the backflash didn't look a day over three to me. So....none of this matters. Still, I really like how happy Hope looks with Aiden and I'm no Hope fan. I'd be ok with PR showing up for the 50th but I'm not sure how it would work out storywise. I hated Bo for constantly replacing Hope with Carly or Billie through the years, even in his own home because he had to have someone in his bed. Even if he was reacting to Hope's bitchiness. I liked them in the 80's as kids a bit (Patch and Jack were way more hot) and when they were trying to work through Zack's death - good writing there. Aiden broke through the bitchy so there's that. -
The first time I read this I thought it meant a lifer in prison. After she goes on her Bad Seed killing spree. Like Rhoda, she is acting like the perfect child and getting everything she wants, isn't she?
-
Yeah I know they are twins. Kids under 5 always are. Johnny too. I suspect they saw the talent in Ciara and declined to hire twins. Heck on Doc Martin they have six kids playing his baby.

Yes, OOC for Lucas. But the poor guy...his mother sent his girlfriend away across the country. Before that he was engaged in Hong Kong and that fell apart when he turned his attention back to Sami. Along with that Kate decided to give Chloe the poisoned apple. If only it worked, there'd be no stupid Parker and the threat of Chloe returning would be gone. I wish they'd give Lucas something to do in Salem and I'm still sad there weren't enough Lumi scenes last fall. Adrienne on the other hand has been a naggy sloppy mess for years. I get it that she's over the top because I suspect Justin is a normal human male who finds it difficult not to have sex for a year at a time. Why Adrienne hasn't traveled there though is a mystery but I think Justin deterred her? And she's freaking bored without her husband and her other kids so maybe that's why she's overly involved in Jackson's life. In addition to the yuckiness of this pairing is the arguments we'll have to put up with when they find out about the WilSon infidelity. As far as Jackson leaving without saying goodbye to Ari, I can see that as beginning to mentally separate from what you expect will be a huge loss. He delivered her after all establishing his importance in her life. Damn that was a great scene with FS confronted with female genitalia and a baby popping out and his face said it all when Gabi told him to do something! -
Sami should pop in. I don't want a 6 week arc like Kritter gets but it's entirely possible for her to fly in occasionally. A bit longer than Susan though, please. I get it that she's directing but I wonder if the option has been offered to her to show up a day or two every few months. Big Lumi fan here because he reminds me of the best qualities of my ex.

We were discussing Parker's age here so I decided to look it up. The actor was born 3/28/09 so he is almost 6. I was concerned the other day when Dingy was carrying him like a baby and all he said was daddy like he was 2 and they keep tickling him. I hope the parent's aren't trying intentionally to keep them acting like babies. At least someone told Dingy to stop holding him by the ankles. Ariana twins were born 10/22/12 so they are 2 1/2. Gosh they're tiny and we never see them walk. On the show she's almost 2, right? She will be on the show 2 yrs as of 5/22. Ciara of the Corn, Casper and Theo were all born in 2003 making them 12 later this year. Theo and Ciara will celebrate their 7th! year on Days 5/22 and 5/21. BTW where is Theo been? Since they're going to age Joey are they going to age Ciara? I can't imagine her as any other actress. I sort of imagine she will grow up to be Roxanne.

That's what I came to say. The agent probably said business equipment couldn't be covered under a renter's policy and tried to sell him a business policy. Was he even making any money with it? Similarly car insurance policies only want to cover you for "pleasure" use and travel to work. I've handled cases where people lie about using their van in their day care business and that definitely needs a higher level of liability coverage. Oh goodness yes but I felt a little sorry for her. Didn't she have a bow or a flower in her hair? I don't think she was all there.

I finally caught up. Because I was behind I didn't want to comment on my opinion that the whole Jjeve rests on JJ's lack of self esteem. He said it over and over. He didn't feel worthy of her while doing community service and she represents the quality person (trying to say this with a straight face here) he wants to be and that's been the dynamic from the start. He already is and doesn't know it. Roxanne seems like a perfect match but he wasn't interested. In fact, Paige could have been anyone who made him feel that way. Things were going fine until he learned of Kayla's rape and the bad feelings came back. He said so. A transcript of JJ's speech is the best explanation of this mess we're going to get and I'm glad the writers laid it out, unlike how they glossed over Failure and EJ. I don't think it even came out EJ tracked down Failure to keep her mouth shut about Nick to Hope. It would be great if Days would play up the good kid is actually bad and the bad kid is actually good angle. They could redeem Jenn from being a harpy by pursuing a storyline of having her realise she failed Abs too along with getting a grip on reality and pulling in some recent history along the way rather than abrupt endings. I do see Jenn approving Abs as a mini-me. Jenn and Jack did call out Abifailure big time in the HS with Austin and Carrie there. I thought that would turn her around. Jack lit a spark in her the way Dingy never has. Why Days have JJ mention Jack died while saving The Failure is a mystery to me. Did he think that was an ideal he couldn't live up to? I don't know. But Jenn mentioning JJ's father's death would send a dagger through my own son's heart over his father if I were to casually use it to justify my own feelings in the crisis he is going through. I'm glad he told Jenn the truth. And everything he said was the truth. Also, he said over and over he wanted Paige back and that's when Jenn stopped mid sentence and realised she could make Suddenly Southern stay the fuck away from the kids. Her speeches to Eve was a thing of beauty, I agree we have our old Jenn back even if briefly and I like Eve better when she keeps her loud mouth shut. Sure Jenn was inappropriate while trying to find out why her son was so damned sad but she didn't actively lie to keep Paige away like Eve did on a daily basis. She's made it her full time job to "protect" Paige and said so. And no sooner did she walk away from that serious confrontation and verbally abusing Theresa some more, then meet up with Paige to LIE SOME MORE. She just can't stop. I'm glad Paige has declared her independence by moving out and being OK with Eve moving away so she could stay in school. (Eve, you can't just transfer to another college as it if were grade school and they were studying the same things.) But I suspect she spends most of her time curling her damned hair. While I hated the human sandwich that was Jenn jumping between Eve's legs and JJ piling on top of his mother I agree with the poster who said her reaction puts some life into this dragged out storyline. Ok, the batsuit is a little heavy handed but her reaction backs up the scene in the HS that she will follow through with any demands she makes. And what is she really asking? Either tell the truth or give the kids a shot let them work it out. I loved it that Jenn stood up straight and made Eve decide right there to either tell the truth or stop interfering. They aren't Romeo and Juliet but Jenn is correct they were never able to let the relationship run its course and it probably would have by now. I honestly don't think she's advocating for it to work or doing it to spite Eve but rather that the kids are miserable, it's affecting their lives and dammit let them work it out either way. She hasn't even told JJ yet and while he's clearly not ready for a relationship, the Eveterference was so awful they might heal a bit by discussing what happened. But Paige needs to be told the truth. Is Jenn enjoying her power too much? Clearly. And JJ needs counseling. And keep Abifail out of the loop entirely please. Having said that I'm no Jenn fan at all and she is making it too much about her. I hated how she stormed out of the hotel causing JJ to run after her. Didn't she even hit him twice? And sat a mile away from him on the sofa? I found the handholding creepy after that. But at least she listened. She listened to a well-trained JJ constantly referencing her feelings. I almost cried when JJ said he could see the way she looks at him. As awful as that was it told me she knew JJ had some responsibility too. Abs got a nice sit down over a cup of tea because EJ and Sami did not affect Jenn's life. She was much more deserving of the treatment JJ got, but we expected this would be the outcome, didn't we? Failure deserved that tumble over the stair rail and a few broken bones. Sneasel and Sparkle bore me so badly I haven't cared for a while. I'm glad Lucas could see through Adrienne's ploy to stop by. Hey at least Justin stayed in town after Jackson left but why is he out snooping on people instead of working on his marriage? The work spouse is a thing, btw. Usually it involves coworkers who playfully bicker as if they were married. A different term is saved for couples suspected of boinking outside of work. ETA I forgot it was Adrienne who Justin was snooping on. If he had any lines I missed it. -
The shilling is awfully boring, isn't it? At least he discloses he's making money off of it as a consultant. Yes, they are certified docs and it's not available in all states. I decided to look it up (anything to avoid doing taxes) and it is $40 for 15 min and the phone app is free. You need a smart phone and it looks like you have to use Skype of Facetime. I read some Amazon reviews and people really like it for minor things like sinus or bladder infections. They can call in prescriptions for you but nothing involving pain meds. One reviewer was upset he was told to take over the counter cough syrup that wasn't helping and was told anything stronger would contain codeine and they couldn't do that. Nobody mentioned spending more than the $40 and I doubt health ins would reimburse that even at an out of network rate but I could be wrong. You're supposed to factor a potential copayment in to determine if DOD is a good deal for you. Most people mentioned the time they saved. I've had strep throat twice and I tend to let it go until I realise I have a fever and am basically nonfunctional. I wonder if they could diagnose that over the phone since they can't look down my throat let alone run a strep test. What's distressing now is he's pushing it for mental health issues which we know will take more than 15 min and probably multiple phone calls. But if you don't have ins it may be worth it and at least you're talking to a doctor and getting good advice. OT I called the suicide hotline last summer, they're supposed to be counselors with degrees and I was treated very, very badly. Shortly after I got ACA ins and tried to make an appt for a physical asap and was told they were scheduling 3 mos out I pretty much broke down and begged for an apt even just to check my hbp that hadn't been treated in 5 years. I was told if I felt that badly to go to the ER and "we can't help people like you". Seriously. I wonder if I'd have called DOD if I had the $40. Today's show was a rerun but I remembered it very clearly. Everyone, even the subject of the show, seemed very well spoken. The poor brother who was told their father had died...omg. But the exchange was awesome. "You told me I was a piece of shit and will always be a piece of shit if you think so why are you here?" "Because you're a piece of shit who needs help." The dad seemed to suggest she was trying to scam money for supposedly having to pay half the cremation fee. In fact, the show seemed almost too well scripted to me and I started wondering if the lady who feels it's easier to tell elaborate lies than to deal with real problems is an actress. Phil managed to get that out of her early on and he did well today. If it wasn't scripted. She didn't get shipped off to one of Phil's pals but was told to rebuild her history, one of honesty and accountability since he dragged out that old platitude "The best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour." Which is BS because my first thought is that if Shill doesn't think people can change what does he think he's doing on this show? Which is probably why for the first time I remember he added the qualifier "relevant" past behaviour. Don't get me started on "I don't care how thin you make a pancake there are two sides". Sure, Phil. Nevermind who's telling the truth, right? And maybe there are three sides: Yours, mine and the truth. Maybe there are several sides based on goals. Ugh. Which brings me to "perception is reality" but I'll take it to the platitudes thread. Build a new history is sticking with me. Common sense but good advice. ETA $30 goes to the doc $10 goes to DOD. I'm pretty sure the doctors would have to be licensed to practice medicine in your state and that's why they're not available in all states.

Geez, today mother plus one on the way still loves the hobbit who puts her into the hospital on a respirator, from the picture. Even his own mother disapproved, very nicely I might add. I'm confused as to why Shill coddled this guy and told him what he should be thinking (people hurt me). I managed to last 20 min of this and tuned back in for about 5 min with the mother. Why? Oh, to have Robin on. At least I missed the part where the woman was blamed for being abused and the man was told to man up and be a hero.

OT but if Molly B is a fan of Lucille Ball she should watch an old RKO movie (I'm a sucker for those) called Five Came Back. She's barely recognizable with dark hair, is jaded and depressed and tries to seduce people at the same time. MB occasionally shows a LITTLE of that in her quieter moments if she could just stop the fidgeting. And OOT stop the sweaters off the shoulders already. Where do you even find those anymore?
