  1. Yes, it seems ridiculous that they appear to be going down this road. When JJ first met Paige, he was dealing with all of his daddy issues, and certainly would have shared this aspect, but as was said, it's in the book, and I seem to remember Paige talking about the book.
  2. So painful. I began to hate MS' portrayal of Phyllis on Y/R in the last few years (okay, maybe almost 10 years). But this is far far worse. She is doing a terrible job with this character. No one would ever believe Nina was this beautiful warm young woman, who was raised with a good education, money etc. This Nina is like a knock-off of Freaky Friday. She is the teenager in the adult body, but in an unendearing way. I blame Stafford, who brings no nuance whatsoever. Even if the writing is ridiculous, her portrayal makes it worse. Does this character have any fans at all?
  3. Oh my, that raggedy red ribbon of love is still on Katie's finger. As I posted, I don't know, weeks/months ago, Ridge could certainly commission a ruby red ring with a bow style to replace it, but no, he has the woman he supposedly loves still walking around wearing a dirty old ribbon. Why is everyone not laughing out loud, or at least whispering and pointing? Why isn't Katie ripping it off her finger and leaving it in the toilet for him to see how much she thinks of it?
  4. Pharrell said that "just the two of us" was a country song, and was surprised that Blessing would choose it? That was a hit for Bill Withers, I think, who also co-wrote it.
  5. As much Patrick is being a dick, I am more alarmed at Anna not seeing that Robin is lying. Anna is a super-spy, she should be able to recognize her own daughter's tells, and if not that, she should be able to logically think this through and see that nothing makes sense! I am in make-believe world thinking that Anna knows Robin is lying, but didn't want to tip off Patrick and will be secretly trying to track her down.
  6. You know what I forgot to say in my earlier comment? That I don't think Nicolle even understood what Alanis was talking about. I have not seen the interview with O, but from the clip, I didn't get a "I just cannot be happy" vibe. I think she said something like it is a temporary state, which is true. I don't suffer from depression, but I am not always happy. And I know many people who suffer from serious depression, and they are never or rarely happy. So Nicolle's comment just seemed weird as a commentary on what Alanis said. I just didn't get it. Then I read this over at Ask Ro, which reminded me that I too thought AM was just describing something and not saying she is unhappy:
  7. I found Nicolle's statement to be naive, as well. I thought Ro did an okay job trying to explain with the shallow end/deep end, but it went over Nicolle's head, I think, and Whoopi was laughing hysterically for reasons unknown to us, and Ro just seemed taken aback but not in an obvious Ro way. She is really holding back the real Ro.
  8. Ava mowing down cusp Jason was mildly disturbing. I agree that real Ava would have just kept driving and maybe called 911, but this is pregnant Ava so maybe that explains it. Anna should grow back her brain and figure out that Robin is still being held captive. And on a completely different topic, from last week's ep, I want to spend some time in a coma, because Nina is rocking an amazing body after 20 years, and over on the Y/R, Phyllis came out of her coma pretty fit and feisty.
  9. JBC344, that is hilarious, and creepy and I don't know what else! TFS
  10. I had no idea that will was meant to be older than EJ. I was watching when Will was conceived and when he was younger on and off, but didn't see the Susan Banks, Kristen, EJ birth era. That is hilarious!
  11. I still think that Dr. O only told half a lie, she said yes it's true, and then something about Victor being Nathan's father, and then Nathan is a Cassadine. I wasn't watching during Mikkos era so don't know if he is a bigger monster than Stavros or Victor, but that seems like the next likely candidate. Although who knows why? Why should it matter who Nathan's father is?
  12. Shoot, I thought that he already had a new face, and Robin just knew him because she has been saving him and all that. But I guess that explains the file folder with the multiple SB pictures.
  13. Holy Shit! Devon screws Hillary, Neil wants a divorce (those things really happened), and Show totally played us so we thought (or at least I thought) that Mariah was pretending to be Cassie and talking to Sharon in the cemetary to get her to spill her secret. I was so pissed at the end of that when it turned out Sharon was dreaming. Grrrr....
  14. Again, Ro at least said they were going to have facts, but they didn't counter Nicolle when she said she loved Rob Ford, just cuz. A little research and they could learn about the multitude of allegations against Ford and his family and their connections to a crime syndicate. The crack smoking is the least of his problems. But no one on either side had the facts. I didn't have a problem with the Rosie chanting, I remember when it was Whoopi they were chanting for. They should have ignored it and moved on, instead we had Whoopi forcing Nicolle to stand, and then Nicolle urging Whoopi to stand while feebly chanting Whoopi. All kinds of awkward. The show was better today than yesterday but they have a long way to go. And crosstalk was also back, including NW telling Ro to let her finish her point. Many times you could see Ro pulling back on what she wanted to say. Rosie P was good.
  15. I cannot believe I am going to defend Jenn but I do think, as she was supposedly Kristen's friend, that she had a right to unload on her. And Kristen did kidnap and beat Dr Dan, so Jenn probably thought she should order her out of the house to protect him. And I think Kristen in all her craziness does care about what Jenn thinks of her and that is why she left. Jenn being seriously angry at Kristen, finally, is normal, and I think their friendship was kind of abnormal, but then I didn't watch when they became friends. However, Jenn looked like a loser showing up at Dan's door a second time, you are so correct, and I think she also looked like shit. I don't know how they do it but they really make her look worse than I think she really looks. The makeup/hair people must hate her.
  16. So Avery and Michael have the same briefcase. What are they setting up there? What was item covered in red mud that Paul had in the evidence bag. I missed that. The preview for tomorrow's Canadian has Mariah pretending to be Cassie to trick Sharon into revealing her secret?
  17. BM is sort of charming and jokey in his role as Billy Abbott on Y/R, but I don't think that's an acting tic, but a choice he made for the character. Because in other shows I have seen him play just a loud mouthed jerk, and also a psycho.
  18. Dr. O said that Nathan is a Cassadine, and that Victor is his father. So maybe she only half lied, and another Cassadine is his father?
  19. Bitsy was not impressed with what Ro had to say about football, surprise, surprise. https://twitter.com/ehasselbeck
  20. Yes, Ro was all high-fiving that Nicolle wasn't the one who made the fly over NOLA decision but Nicolle actually responded that it could have been her decision had she been there, and that she had made decisions (she may have even said many). I didn't think that she took the Palin bait, but she acknowledged that Palin blamed her for the Couric epic fail. But this is all in the movie so no big risk there for her. And when talking about Cheney she never said he had a black piece of coal where his heart should be, it was more along the lines of how they had to manage that story. I found that interesting and would like to hear that more than talking points. And there is more info out there on this that shows this not a little smack on the butt. The Houston paper has a lot more detail including that the little four year old boy had no pants on, and that he was whipped twice during that visit (not sure if it was a weekend). Peterson knew he had crossed the line because he texted the boy's mother about it. He also knew that the boy was scheduled for a Dr. appt on his return home, and that the Dr. would see the injuries, so he was doing damage control to suggest that the "switch" somehow wrapped around the boy's thigh accidentally hurting him. The boy told police that he stuffed leaves in his mouth while he was whipping him. Peterson said if the boy had cried he would have known he was hurting. The boy also told police that his father whipped him with a belt, that his dad had lots of belts, and "whooping" room. So there are enough facts out there to suggest this is not a spanking. I don't know why the new and improved view didn't present these facts, but Ro did present some of it to shut down Whoopie. I think Ro made a good point about football players and violence, but I think both Whoopi and Rosie are boxing fans, so that kind of ended there. OTOH Rosie did talk about being abused as a child so I think we will hear more on the subject. The reason I am interested in this is that my own husband said to me on the weekend, can you believe they charged this football player for spanking his own kid? I think that is where Whoopi is coming from and she didn't have the facts. It is weird how sometimes she is very well-informed and other times not at all.
  21. That was definitely not BaWa in the chair when we saw them kissing her hand. Poorly done, and such a stupid idea. Yes, Nicolle was confusing in that Iowa talk. I realized at the end that the point was that if Hillary is in Iowa it means she is running, because she is not a fan of Iowa and wouldn't go there otherwise. At least that's what I got from that. Yeah, I didn't like the annoying pushing back of the hair. Whoopi and Ro were the most comfortable.
  22. I just remembered another weird thing. When Nicolle said she is a republican, Ro said to the audience that she liked her, she really truly liked her, and then she said: it's all real this year, everything's true, if we say it, it's true. The implication being that in prior years, when they said they all loved each other, they really didn't. I think that if they needed BaWa in the opening, they should have skipped the lame bit, and just had her addressing the audience about the changes to the show, with no attempt at humour. As we could have predicted, Whoopi was going down the road defending the football player who used a switch on his four year old, that left cuts etc, they showed the picture. It was only when Ro said that he had cuts to his scrotum etc, that she backed down. So that didn't surprise me, but I thought Ro said in her interview recently that they were going to have all the facts of the topics they were discussing, and it seemed like Whoopi didn't know that fact and then dialed it back. Re the couch, there was set behind the main set with an L shaped couch and I guess that is where the interviews will happen.
  23. Yes, something was off with the sound! I didn't mind the chairs and table so much, but I noticed that Nicole always had her head doing a sharp right turn toward Whoopi, and that was not so much the case with the old set-up, it wasn't so obvious.
  24. I forgot to mention the lame bit at the beginning that they taped with BaWA. WTF was that?
  25. I really wanted to like it but it was a bit flat for me. Yes, the discussion was respectful, which I like, and crosstalk was not there, which I also like, but they seemed to just be so careful. I think Rosie P was more brave than Ro. Nicole Wallace's stories about politics I find interesting but those will run out. I still think they should have a young co-host in her twenties. This was not must see TV for me. I didn't like the audience game at all. Ellen now does that better than Ro. Didn't the women of the Talk have a sofa first year and they sat without their shoes, like Ro did today? Whoopi didn't like the set up, you could tell.
