  1. My kitchen cabinets are oak. They were built in place so I guess that's custom? I dunno. All I know is that when I saw this house in 1987 I was thrilled with the oak cabinets because my table and chairs for the adjacent breakfast area are oak and I have an antique oak chest and ice box that look great with those oak cabinets. And, by the way, not all oak is "orange"--ours is actually quite lovely with a warm walnut stain. Once a year I wipe them down with Murphy's oil soap and they gleam.
  2. My DVR recorded it as "new"... I don't record reruns.
  3. I've been through similar neighborhoods and have always felt bad for the homeowners whose houses were nice. Just a few derelict properties can spiral an entire neighborhood down. The neighbors do seem to appreciate the work being done to houses on their street. It will certainly increase property values, but will also probably increase property taxes. I hope the long time residents can afford any increase. If taxes increase, the community amenities should improve (schools, parks).
  4. When I lived in Orange County, California we didn't have central air. It honestly wasn't that bad with fans to move the air. At night the temperature dropped considerably and we never missed having AC. We did have central heat, which we seldom needed to use.
  5. The husband liked the change from an arch to a squared off opening with a beam at the top, but it looked a bit odd with the arched opening remaining in place right next to it.
  6. Realtors tell sellers to declutter and the twins overly clutter with their staging. Go figure. I liked it better as a half-hour show as well. I don't care that they are twins and really don't care for all the kiddo stuff, ala Chimp & JoJo.
  7. Spinster is kind of an old fashioned term, but I think we can all agree that Natalie is pretty far past her "sell by" date.
  8. Amira looked like a cheap streetwalker in that red bustier. That hair is beautiful, but is it extensions or a "fall"? It always looks too perfectly waved to be her actual real hair. And those lips! I think "lipstick on a pig" every time I see her (and Natalie too). It's obvious that Amira is going to fall in love with any American man who'll bring her to the US for a green card and her dream job behind a cosmetics counter at Macy's.
  9. The "themes" for their decor made no sense at all. This new show is a real disappointment. The only thing that would improve those houses after they are finished would be gallons of primer and paint to cover the "art" on the walls.
  10. Aha! But from what I read elsewhere, Stephanie is on Only Fans 😎
  11. She posted a nearly naked Before and After picture on her Instagram. Her stomach looks like it is improved, but her butt is still huge.
  12. The cosmetic procedures Rebecca described that she had were a surprise. Actually, I don't think her appearance was improved that much and those weren't cheap procedures. Also they aren't covered by medical insurance. She's supposed to be so broke... I wonder how she paid for them in addition to her princess wedding at the resort complete with a horse drawn carriage. Good for her losing weight, but she still has a very unattractive double chin and doesn't look younger. I had to laugh when Natalie admitted getting her lips done and that she was surprised that they turned out so big.
  13. I live in Georgia and we travel to Charleston a couple times a year. I just couldn't wrap my head around the wide area she was looking at houses in, especially if the automobile manufacturing plant she works at is BMW in Greer, SC. If she's working at the Volvo plant it's near Charleston and a home in the Summerville area made more sense, but that's an expensive area to buy a house. In either case, her commute from south of Columbia will be terrible, especially if she's using I-26. The traffic on that interstate is horrific at almost any hour of the day with many semis headed to and from the port in Charleston and when it rains I-26 is a nightmare. Girl is so dumb. I predict a foreclosure on her home purchase within a few years.
  14. I really don't care what the HGTV "talent" does with their families and could care less about their "private" lives. It seems to have started with JoJo and Chimp and spread throughout the shows. The kids and their antics aren't "cutes" and I fast forward through their scenes.
  15. I thought she said she was going to leave the door from the garage that opened into the 'mud' room (formerly a storage room with door access into the garage), but I didn't see the door to the garage in the reveal. The missing TVs bothered me more.
  16. I liked the reno, but I don't think she even put a TV back in the "media" room upstairs.
  17. Mine don't sparkle, but I don't mind them. I just welcome friends to 1987 when they drop by. 😍
  18. I live in Georgia. Actually, you find many more brick homes here and they are very desirable. In our subdivision the houses with other types of siding are known as "Jimmy Carter houses"--they were built when he was president and mortgage interest rates were high so builders didn't use brick because of the cost and, thus, the higher priced homes are brick.
  19. I think the owners would enjoy the screened porch. Having said that, I live in Georgia and many neighbors have unscreened front porches with the ubiquitous rocking chairs, which are mostly for decoration. No one ever sits outside on them to hang out with neighbors, but they are not screened. Screened in porches on the back of houses get much more use here. I spend hours in my back-of-the-house "Florida Room" porch for the better part of the year to read and watch TV. For the two months of winter we put up storm windows over the screens and use heaters out there.
  20. Most recent episode I watched was a couple selling their late sister's house. Holy tile mish-mash! What ever made the sisters think those different styles of tile were complimentary?! The contractor actually saved the look of the master bath by not using the penny tile on the shower walls.
  21. I thought M&B had it for the win with that pergola and the "ceiling" that could be closed to keep rain off the deck. I live in Georgia and screen rooms are very popular here, but are most often on the back of the house. Edited to add.. M&B also added stairs from the back yard to the upper deck. To me, that was a big PRO. I didn't agree with "the pergola isn't Craftsman" since it was on the back of the house. So what? All the deck needed was to be screened in to make it the perfect Georgia Room.
  22. I've never understood demolishing granite countertops if they can be saved. Granite can be reused. My friend used salvaged granite in the bathrooms of her newly built home. It came from a bank building that her grandfather owned and was quite lovely.
  23. My kitchen ceramic cooktop is electric and I when I was shopping for it I wanted digital controls instead of knobs. I was concerned that the cats (we have three) might be able to step on the digital keypad and turn it on... so, I went with Bosch, which was the only brand with a "lock" function to make it childproof. It's cat proof and even husband proof as well. 😄 A long time ago I had a 20-something roommate who left a pan on the electric stove burner when she heated something up for lunch. Thankfully, the element was on low and there was about an inch of liquid in the pot or she might have burned down the apartment. When I got home after work the sauce pan was ruined. If that judge had "little kids" what were they doing cooking ramen noodles unsupervised? That statement didn't impress me as good parenting.
  24. I just love it that y'all notice stuff I miss and your snark is so outrageous. Am I the only one who's looking forward to Jovi and Yara’s wedding with the Elvis officiant? 😍
  25. I was thinking about this and Tamara has to live near Mile. She might not have wanted to upset him too much because she's a neighbor so she did what she needed to do and she may not have had the funds to pay for the hotel herself. I really can't blame her since she was going out of her way to do them a favor.
