  1. Not to mention his line too: "Sorry Lewis. I have another party to go to." Then the pan up to show everyone in Luke's room and then Phil saying: "Theirs a party in Luke's room." Was hilarious, but sadly also irks me because really? Luke and Manny couldn't think for one second that their moms would be gone for probably at the worst an hour, when Claire still pokes fun and hates everything that Gloria does to this day. Plus the movie at the best would have kept Mitch and Phil out at the most 3 hours. They know the smoke alarms have smart notifications, but hey they bring their iPhone stuck on porn to the Apple Store instead of just reseting it by holding the power and lock buttons. The writers just have to make them stupider when the plot calls for it.
  2. Oh please, let L/L be happy and no stupid drama even though we know Chris is going to be in the series too.
  3. Yeah, I really never got that either, but it was AS-P trying to have her cake and eat it too. That Lorelai hated her background and how she was raised by her "puppet controlling parents". Yet, never had a problem using that said background in her life where it counted, much like many people in life. Like someone who tried to be an actor, took the classes, but didn't do it, but then became a teacher and used that skill set to be a stronger presenter. Or someone who went into nursing, but couldn't work the hours, but then does home care and uses those same skills in a more stable manner. Yet, with Lorelai, she had to make it about herself and much like Emily, just didn't know how to let things go. It got very exhausting.
  4. Its amazing that Zoey is the most level headed and well portrayed family member. No, its true. She acts like an average teen, she is responsible, but yet still gets caught up making mistakes. Mean while, her brothers are constantly portrayed as stupid and her sister acts like she is so smart she is better than anyone else. I did like that Diane wasn't immune to being sheltered with lies like everyone else. I completely agree, both moms should not have custody of their grand kids they horrible monster-in-laws that both their kids defend blindly. They are completely devoid of reality and act like they are better than everyone else and that no one is good enough for their children even after several years of marriage and the fact that two of their grandchildren are almost grown. Time to let it go, but sadly I do know people like this. In fact a friend of mine who is in his mid 50s, all his kids grown, married and out of the house with their own kids still has to deal with his in-laws who are in their 80s and still acting like their baby girl needs to be taken cared of because she has a disability and can't work. Yet he has been gainly employed for years, is planning on retirement in 10 years and is locked in and all their kids have successful lives and marriages. Yet they are still: "Are you sure you are going to have a job next year since you're a teacher?" Sadly, my in-laws while not extreme as Ruby and Bow's mom and are in their mid 70s now, still act like they know better and want o make sure their youngest daughter (my wife) who is now 40 needs to be secured since she has a disability. I know many parents never stop worrying about their kids and such, but still its get to the point where they have to realize, they aren't going to live forever. I do wish we had more with the boys having some sense of intelligence. Outside of basketball and reffing, I feel like Junior and his brother have to played as morons instead of just being naive to things. I hate it when writers drive characters to the extreme with their faults because it gets not only old, but you wonder how characters like that can still even remember how to breathe at that point.
  5. I also enjoyed that scene, Emily put it all down right there and then it was Richard who broke the problem by suggestion the marriage and going from there. Too bad we never really saw that Emily again or how she had to just break up Luke and Lorelai because Christopher was a Hayden and better "suited" for Lorelai in her opinion. Yeah, we all so how great the Haydens were and not to mention the Hutzburgers. I did enjoy Emily's smack down then too. Too bad we had to get mustache twirling, pride ridden Emily after season 4.
  6. I find season 4 full of plots that really were just bad, Luke and Nicole's marriage that was dragged on forever for the divorce. The entire Emily is mad at Lorelai for noting "knowing" enough and Rory loosing more of her spine. Don't even get me started on Jess and Dean's returns due to the fact their shows never got off the ground. Jess's reappearance due to Liz calling him and telling him where his POS car is still a headache, but so is Liz and TJ to begin with. Dean's bachelor party is just bad and Luke letting everything happen when he was in the middle of a relationship that was not what he believed it to be and did it for the wrong reasons is also painful. Now, add in Kirk and Lulu's relationship starting, Jason and Lorelai's relationship and the entire Jason story line and it made up for a lot of bad and just plain "huh" in season 4.
  7. The problem was Jess was called on skipping, not failing or not turning in assignments on time. He was cutting class to work extra hours at Walmart (most likely to get his POS car to keep running). However, its a TV troupe of a student all of a sudden missing a credit or missed too many days of classes and won't graduate on time. Even though they would have been contacted way before it was all over to try and make up that credit. However, seniors do flunk out, I had two classmates who did, but also got their GEDs that following winter and one went into the military and the other later went to community college and became a nurse. Reason why? The one didn't care and the other had just dealt with the death of a parent. Yet, seniors do fail all the time even though things are looking like smooth sailing by the time January comes up before graduation. However, many seniors who are in that situation start opting out to just get their GED before a year passes and then go from there. Yet, never an option in the TV world.
  8. Exactly! I work in the education system and I tell you, if you have a student with 3 tardies in a row, there is a talk to why they are tardy. I know we are going a decade since this all happened, but Luke would have been contacted in one way or another. There is also no way Jess wouldn't have been taken to either the guidance counselor office or the principal after almost 7 days. As for being notified even after excused absences, schools want to know if everything is ok and if special needs have to be met due to the long absences so students don't fall behind or if there is possible forgery happening. Once again, extremely stupid that Jess ever got to this point and not only Luke not knowing, but word spreading in town that Jess was at Walmart more than school. Especially considering that word spread through ESP in Stars Hollow when something was going on. Usually with Rory, but many times too how something just happened, and BOOM! Someone knew from Taylor to Babbett.
  9. That's the problem too. It wasn't very common for elementary schools during the time, but middle and high schools, if there is such a large showing of absences, teachers or admin contact the parents/guardian. Its extremely common now a days. While I get that they could have pulled a Party of Five and had Jess deleting messages on Luke's answering machine (if he had one or caller ID). I just call the entire thing stupid and Jess even pointed out to Rory in not so many words, he was doing the homework and taking tests/quizzes. The principal even hit him up saying Jess's skipping was why he was going to repeat his senior year. Not because he was failing his classes. Of course, a school counselor would have been in on the meeting too. There would have even been the talk of just taking his GED as an alternative. That's been a common practice since 2000. It was just a contrive plot to get AS-P spin off series that even after casting and so forth, was apparently never going to get the final green light by the studio.
  10. Luke didn't know anything, he didn't even have an idea that Jess was skipping school to work more hours at Walmart until he got employee of the month as a result. However, even Walmart wouldn't have been able to do that with someone who was a senior in high school. For the last 15 years, a school has to ok if a student is working during school hours. Usually if they have a study hall or have met their hours for the semester at the END OF THE DAY! I don't get for one second that Jess was intercepting messages to Luke to have him be so clueless of Jess skipping school. Especially when Luke saw that Jess was hiding and then immediately running to his hidden car to head Walmart right after the last bell rang.
  11. I remember several times during the series, Lorelai had glasses on in some episodes, even reading at times. A person commented about her contacts and Lorelai replied: "I don't wear contacts!" Yet, she wears her glasses when she isn't reading and in the termite episode. She mentions to Kirk about wearing her glasses because of the weather. That always drove me crazy, if they had her wearing glasses because of reading only, they could have just made a passing comment. Yet, she wears them when she isn't reading or when episodes are clearly filmed early in the morning.
  12. She has been doing that since season 3. She brings in characters that have no point of even being in episodes because she CAN. Many people here and myself included have said and pointed out that. Dean's last appearance in the series, Marty or various members of the LADB, who had no point and does anyone remember Paris's former friends who just magically showed up at the same beach that Paris and Rory were at during Spring break and added nothing more than: "Look, we are in bikinis and our last two shows bombed horribly on NBC and ABC, yet here we are. Now, off to the bank with my $20,000 check!"
  13. Not really, what was done and even put together and updated. Frank Castle was a war vet and respected cop. However, his experience in the field made him a little derange and when his family was killed due to two waring gangs. He lost it and became a one man war against crime: judge, jury and executioner. They tried to make it like Castle brought it on himself in the movies, but really it was an accident and even more, there was talk even in the original origin that the DA was aware of the gang war and didn't warn anyone about it. Hence why Frank had little respect for the DA or lawyers as he knew there were dirty ones or ones that bent the law to have it their way. However, he would expose them and let the public "punish" them as he saw it as a more fitting punishment than a single kill even if they were majorly corrupt. Unlike say well known mob leaders or gangs, where he saw no redemption in them, but he left their families alone if they weren't involved. Like a wife or children who don't know what daddy or mommy are really into. Verses the entire family being born men or killers.
  14. Right, and if anything, Castle picked a wrong day to take the family to the park and Reyes didn't clear it. If anything, she could have kept things from children and families from being in the area by closing down the merry go round or something to that effect. the Colonel knew Castle went off the deep end with his targets, but as he pointed out, he doesn't want innocents in the way in any shape or form. If anything, he would have exposed Reyes and not killed her and we know it was the blonde guy who shot up the boat who killed Reyes and hit Foggy in the process. Frank has never been that reckless during the entire season.
  15. So, he's in Winter and Fall. Makes sense since Supernatural is done filming for the season and next year might be its last year.
  16. Right and I was so sick they couldn't point that out by everyone. Because he was horrible as a father, but hey he comes from a good standing family of the rich and he is great at sex and "looks great". So, all is forgiven. I also like how Gilmore Girls like most shows from the early to mid 2000s had to have characters want or go to France for everything. They did it on: "Friends, Gilmore Girls, Daweson's Creek, Two and Half Men, ect). Because then, France was the hoping place to go at, now post 2008 and terrorist attacks, no one ever mentions going to Europe anymore. Now the new hot spot on TV shows is to go to California in some way. Back to topic, yeah, AS-P had such a thing for the character of Chris and David Suttcliff, Christopher was just forced on us to be: "a hot thing" but sucked as a person.
  17. Yeah, I agree with others, this was the first time in a long time that Haley and Andy worked. I was also happy he won all the money, I was dreading they were going to get married in Vegas. They need to balance both Haley and Andy out and stop playing on their extremes so much. Such as Andy being a doormat or Haley not being smart enough to see past her own nose. I have to also agree that both Cam and Gloria need to just admit their spouses points. I get that Jay is bored, my own father-in-law who has been retired for over two years now. He is driving my mil crazy with all his projects and then he has to ask us if we need anything done. I finally had him put in a kitchen sink and straighten up a shelf since I was busy at work lately. Got him out of my mother-in-law's hair and my wife went to work. Made everyone happy. I finally see that they are trying to get Manny to not only point out Gloria and Jay's flaws, but his own as well. Manny has lived in such a void the last few years, not thinking how much his antics have annoyed his mother and stepfather. Just Jay was more upfront with it and now the whole family is: "Manny, we don't care, we love you, but we really just can't care." Him telling Gloria that she thinks this would be such a better idea than just being truthful about things and her response: "Talk to me when you're married." Was funny but at the same time, she just never learns and neither does Jay or Cam. Cam has done such stupid stuff and even now, he could set the house on fire by accident and it would be avoided if he listen to Mitch. Plus, writers we get it, Mitch is struggling with now trying to get his practice and working again, but stop acting like he hasn't practice law in years. Trust me, from my own relatives who are telling me, running your own lawfirm the first few years from the ground up. It eats up time a lot.
  18. That's a big UO for me was I actually wanted to see more of the pilot, but I feel that Jess spin-off was all over the place. Even with Jess's dad showing up out of nowhere. Living with a woman who had a daughter from a previous marriage that loved to hide up and read books. Then you had Mike Moronna from the Adventures of Pete and Pete who apparently not only worked at the Hot Dog King, but apparently was a partner too (according to AS-P notes). Plus, filming on Venice Beach, I have to say that it had me interested, but at the same time. I think the show would have lasted one season and end with Jess moving on, healing what happened with his dad and vice versa but going their separate ways in life. Yet, we know that AS-P much like Rob Thomas of Veronica Mars loved reusing actors for is show. Either making them completely different characters, putting wigs on them or making the audience go: "No, they don't look or sound like someone who was in a few episodes as a different character."
  19. Oh wait, your right, sorry. But you see my point.
  20. I always wonder what would have happened with Christopher if "I'm with Her" would have had a 2nd season on ABC. Once the show was over and Sutcliff was free, AS-P started working on how to bring Chris back in to throw the wrench in Luke and Lorelai's relationship. You know she would have tried to find another way, I could have seen Max being brought back, as there was Lorelai and him kissing in the classroom in season 2 before Christopher showed back up. I don't know, I find that the worst GG storylines and plots were because former actors on the show all of a sudden were free. They did it with Marty, Nicole, Christopher and Dean every time the actors other work crashed and burn or they were free for a month. Unlike said characters meeting their natural course such as Max, Jason, Trix and Richard's butler.
  21. I hated that line and what made me hate Christopher and that hate continued because of that line. Much like his parents, Emily and Richard, they were stuck in the past believing their best days were behind them and that everyone else was just, this. I know it was more of AS-P writing trying to give Rory a pep talk from her dad, but from then on out. Christopher was just a dumbass and that continued on through the series.
  22. I really can't think on the full idea, but it would be the only thing that would work for a twist and then have it where Megan just magically reappears and the entire talk about: "Megan might not be dead." Works better than an entire amnesia or that Riggs had something else going on and it all backfired and Owen knows it was something more and his excuse of: "I have to blame someone" is just a red herring because he never had evidence. Yet everyone figures: "Well, Owen gets pissed at things for stupid reasons, so this is just another one."
  23. Yep, Chris decided to give money to his oldest daughter, get her out of debt and not owing anyone and decided to do it as a father and not with some catch like the elder Gilmores or how his parents were. Speaking of Christopher inheriting all of his grandfather's money for obvious reasons, I would have liked one scene between Chris and Francine where she ended up apologizing for the way Straub was including: "You know how he could be set in his ways and sadly, I went with them, but in our circle, you stand by your man." "I'm sorry it ruined things more for you than not marrying Lorelai and Rory being born, because it wasn't like Rory had a choice." Straub went to his grave still at odds with Christopher even if he blamed everyone else for Chris's faults and never acknowledging Rory as his grand daughter.
