After 6 years, Cam and Mitch finally get their baby boy, but Lily? Who is that? This episode sadly proved the downfall of the writers, they have no idea what to do with Manny. They constantly want to show that Alex is a "big nerd" with no life. People go to Hero Cons and are outcasts and Jay can't figure out automatic systems. Yet he can have smart devices and use Google Home no problem. However, I will say this, I really do hope they plan on next season being their last. This is way to late in the game to throw another kid into the cast and hope it will "revitalize the show".

Something I just don't get is why they let this group of women run everything like they are the mafia. They are women who married rich men, who apparently don't care about them. Two of them are drug addicts who do very strange and crazy things. Even question why they do it and yet get away with things. That said, I loved the rest of the episode and what a great way to use Greg and the kids. Though, still the assistant is so over the top it isn't funny.

Anna-Kat's ADD has been completely forgotten. I think the showrunners didn't know where to take the main reason why they moved to the house in the first place. Why Greg was so focused on getting tenure. Why the kids sold out to the "in crowds" and why Katie has been doing very stupid stuff to "fit in". Now, it all comes off as: "So, she just become mini Katie and she is cured." Similar to Taylor's constant intelligence changing, when she is by herself, she can't string 2 syllabus words. When she is with her dumber than dumb boyfriend, she can secretly get credit card information and book hotel rooms. Don't get me started on Oliver sliding between mini Kevin O'leary and being completely oblivious on how the world works.

It is a real thing, but usually it's a firefighter getting caught in an encased room where crews can't get to them in any shape or form. They don't get burned, but those rooms become like ovens and people are "cooked" to death. Even the movie Ladder 19 with John Travolta, the main character died not because he was burned in the main factory fire as his story is told but because they couldn't get to him. He is cooked to death in an aluminum room by the end of the movie. There were so many ways to get that garage destroyed or they could have even opened the room since the FIRE was OUT. Yet, wrote this house being a super fort that even when they explained the divorcing couples careers. They basically put over 1.5 million in turning the house into a super house, when they had no reason to do that because the wife was apparently super paranoid about everything.

Mrs. Readster was wondering how she just happen to get into these houses/apartments and just take bottles left and right. I mean, Dan knew who these people were too and how Roseanne hid a ziplock of pills in an ice back. Yeah, they might be in plastic, but being in constant freezing temps including being in ice, those pills would be eventually breaking apart and mixing together that would most likely cause Roseanne to OD. Plus, really, Dan or no one in that house didn't refill the ice bag and go: "What are these pills doing in here?" Also, they talked about the $3K for the needed surgery, where did the money come for the stair chair? How was Darelene paying for her and her kids cellphone plan. How come Dan has a flip phone, yet all the passwords on Roseanne's smart phone have his passwords? There are so many plot holes that you could drive a truck through them and I know they said they went to Elgin (30 minutes from where I am) and I know the living conditions there and everything. However, they really, really have a lot of not only exaggerations on Landford 2018, but are missing a lot of facts. Plus, Darlene talking about UofI in St. Charles. Yeah, there isn't one, now if she would have said Rockford or NIU, Elgin Community College or even Kishwaukee CC. Then that would have made sense, but the writers don't use Google and think no one else does.

The failing marriage story line really got way too depressing and brought out all the major flaws of the characters to the Nth degree. From Dre to Diane and even Pops and Ruby. I mean, wow! So, yeah time to leave that in the rear mirror and if Kenya is leaving the show. I hope the new show runners deal with the death of Bow's father more directly. That is a gold mine for stories and character use. From inheritance to having your parent gone. Even Ruby and Pops could get stories out of that with their own mortality.

Because Becky lost her brain back when she first dated Mark. Hell, sounds like Becky has just been making bad decisions since 1994 and never stopped. Something I would have loved is Dan telling himself: "I should have stayed at the garage and not done that damn prison. I never think ahead." As for Roseanne's addiction, going to be a real pain when she runs out and can't get anything and Dan is going to have to break the news to the rest of the family. Because you know that is coming. I could see Jackie even trying to get the money too for the surgery.

Yeah, all of a sudden with Dre having endless money to use after the last 4 seasons of how they needed better money management. Even to points finding out their old finance manager didn't know anything at all for the last... 14 years. Now, they can just throw that out, Bow is back at work and I agree, they need more theorpy. Yet, it makes half the season just seem like a waste. The reason why Dre wanted Bow staying at home. Baby D actually having more of a natural place in the finale (he is moving pretty fast now huh?). However, with Junior and Zoey gone most of next season. I really can't see Jack and Diane carrying the kid aspects of the show, and if they want to magically get Junior back on a regular basis again, I'm just going to say: "Well, then maybe you need less psychotic Diane and Jack "I'm stuck in the stairs again" jokes.

Greg get treated with respect? Hey got tenure and they stuck him in a former utility closet with the most annoying GA possible. Why would he be treated with respect?

Fresh off going to Fridays I can see, but man moving Speechless over there is not the best move. Especially after only 2 seasons under its belt. The show creators but not get: "We need to keep all the kids in HS" thought process. They better give the season a full regular arc that leaves it open but wraps up the stories nicely.

True and I think after so long, Fred's influence got to Andy to the point, I think he felt he needed less on Jackie and that lead to their problems. Too bad we have to wait until season 2 to see that relationship.

Her excusing saying she uses them to get out of conversations with her parents didn't make sense. Comes a point, where you delete them. She had her major upset with Dylan moving on in her life and everything with Rayner. So, Andy being there would still make sense, but everyone else. Yeah, if I haven't talked to someone or don't plan on seeing them unless by accident. They go out of my contact list. Plus, the amount of times Haily has broken or lost her phone. Shocked she knows how to use iCloud.

Hence, why the Blackmail rule seems to imply. Because it was like they wanted to hammer of: "We still care about the show, since we spent so much money on it. Please give us one more episode or revival." Seriously, some shows just need to die or never get past the pilot. I know a pilot on CBS 2 years ago with Charlie McDemont from The Middle was being constantly shopped to get aired when CBS said that the show was absolutely horrible. The creators were still trying to get a network to go since they found out The Middle was ending. Everyone looked at them and went: "Give it up already!" RoE is that example and I feel that is happening here with Splitting Up. If it wasn't for The Middle ending and Fox reviving other dead shows in the fall. I think this show wouldn't be getting a second season. Since they are changing the direction of it so much in the last few episodes. I say pictures too.

Yeah, it was more over that they were friends. However, Jay's first appearance made the most sense. Except for showing Eve there was more to life than upset you: "Didn't get into the school of your choice." Both Jay in real life and his character didn't go to school and it made them get down to focusing on what was important to be successful in life. However, the entire: "Jay and Chuck feuding" came across as horrible and the fact it was the finale episode. Critics even said: "What was the point of that even if they didn't know they were going to get canceled." I have nothing against Jay Leno at all, still find the man funny, but if you are going to use him, make it relevant to the story. Out of his 4 appearances, only 2 made sense.

Right and at times, way too clueless about things. The entire situation that kicked off the marriage issues with Jack getting the jumpy ordered and telling JR that it was Baby D. Junior replies: "He can call people?" That was just too much. Same with Jack at times, I know he has done really, stupid things or thought processes. However, I remember when he wanted a chest bump with Diane and she kept telling Jack to stop. Even pointing out that: "Hello, girl, bra. Just no." He still pushed it like: "No, in my mind, this is awesome." There comes a point where it's too much.

I completely agree, if you can't market something, then how do people know it is there? I mean, despite the abs-mil ratings of Alex Inc. they were pushing that as much as they could. LMS, they basically just let it fade off into nothing. I think Nancy Travis said it perfect after they cancelled the show: "If they would have just promoted us, or not focused so much on Mike vs Ryan. I think we would have been on longer."
-
Well said on all. That was Fred, since we have no idea what happened with Andy on the revival. You do have to wonder how much Fred effected his son's view on everyone.

I also agree with black mail. Seriously, RoE was so bad, I think I lost brain cells.

16. New episodes go until the end of June. Season 2 will be 18.

Another thing was this was a Public High School and while a good neighborhood and school. That was a very tiny graduating class for California. Had it been in a nice small town/city america, then I could buy it. I agree, this put Dre's man-baby ways to such a low it would go into 1 year old tantrum from getting his diaper changed.

At this point, outside all the crap they put us through with Dr. Roy and how little the others have been used or background on them. I don't see why killing any of the remain 4 off would matter at this point.

Rehab girl, making it so Owen officially adopts the baby and Amelia feeling guilty decides to be a mom to him.

Original Flavor Season Talk: Dinner at Rodbell's
readster replied to Rhondinella's topic in Roseanne [V]
I love Dan's smack down in the episode too. I mean he basically said: "Why did you think this was going to work in the long run? You both know better." I remember my mother saying originally: "Finally, a parent who tells the sitcom daughters their crazy schemes are stupid and why do you think they are always going to work when they don't." These days, we see sitcom kids getting away with murder still. -
Back on a network note. Yes, it is interesting that they decided to keep the show around, but with The Middle over next week and Modern Family ending next season and with American Idol and Roseanne being the only big hits for them (Both Revivals). Alex Inc being a bomb and Fox resurrecting Last Man Standing. I see why they kept the show another season, but as people are already saying, especially critics. They better figure out what the show needs to be now, because I doubt it is going to be called: "Trying to get Back together." and last a full season for 2018-2019.

Considering what they did to their kitchen and Dre's constant shoe buying obsession. I can see him paying $1K for a shirt that would be on a freshman in college.
