I guess they are hoping that since it's the old time, it will get everyone back.

Something Fox really has to look at here, especially bringing back a show that was not only on another Network, but was a classic laugh track comedy is making sure they keep what people enjoyed about the show. If they feel they can do their bastardized version of "Archie Bunker" between Mike and Ryan and then can't use either Eve, Mandy and yes, Kyle and continue with Vanessa "I have a PhD but I don't know how to tie my shoes". Then they will be lucky if they make it the 13 episode pick up. Especially when the show will at that point been gone almost a year and a half. Fox did some very bone headed cancellations this season, critics and other networks have been like: "You cancelled a show that was doing fine in ratings and you have no other reality series to fall back on like ABC? What are you thinking?" Brooklyn 99 is going to NBC, Lucifer is most likely going to DC's new Streaming Service and outside their animation block and professional sports. Fox has nothing, so to put this kind of money to bring the series back that honestly had a horrible send off. Yeah, big gamble and if they can't get back almost the entire cast, they are up a creek.

From what I understand, it was to reach more audience members who stream DC more.

Reminded me of Sloan on Alias, the guy kept himself alive and convincing others to let him live no matter what evil he did. Also, he ended the same way, trapped for eternity suffering.

I completely agree, I think they do bring out the worst in each other. Andy might have brought out the "best" in Andy, but Andy was an idiot and oblivious at things all the time. Especially with Beth, how many other people would have said: "Fuck you too woman and your drama. Either you commit or go, because I want to settle down."

Original Flavor Season Talk: Dinner at Rodbell's
readster replied to Rhondinella's topic in Roseanne [V]
Problem is looking at where the revival is now. Jackie becoming a life coach, we saw where doing this major: "They were too stable and we had to shake things up, because people make poor decisions all the time." The problem with Mark was until they brought in David and their home life, Mark and Becky came off as the cliche: "Good Girl dates the Bad Boy, who is misunderstood" troupe. I had no problem with Mark saying he never forced Becky with her decisions, but at the same time he never went: "You know Becky, you are making too many sacrifices for me, we have to think ahead." Or with Dan with the bike shop, seeing how it wouldn't work with Ziggy, but hey put up the house on a second mortgage and so forth and here is an extra $30K from Ziggy and yep, you can now have the bike shop. Then Jackie about how much she couldn't do a desktop job as a cop. Then what did she work all this time? Truck driver, co-owner of a dinner and then now years later a life coach. So, yeah glad she couldn't "survive" at a desk job. -
I agree. They really have to decide if they are going to continue with "Splitting UP" then it's time that one of them moves out of the house or they actually deal with the kids going between two houses and Martin buying a clue of how to do things. Hell, show how divorcing is effecting his job and pay. Other wise it's: "We are under water with our house, but my soon to be ex-husband makes good money and I work too. Yet, we can't tell you what that is."

Original Flavor Season Talk: Dinner at Rodbell's

Yes, I hated when Roseanne left the salon because she was moving forward with things. She was even starting to do hair and other things that could have lead to her getting a cosmotology license, but that would mean Roseanne would have to get more education and stuff. That can never happen to Roseanne, remember: "Don't live beyond your education." -
Yep, Fresh is renewed too and Last Man Standing is being resurrected by Fox.

In The Media: Fresh Off The Press
readster replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Fresh Off The Boat [V]
Completely agree. They really need to get Jessica and Evan from: "We are super micro managing and always trying to one up everyone, when secretly we hate it, but keep doing it." Back to: "WE have problems, but need to get over ourselves." -
I have to say this is a bit of a shock, but Fox is bringing Last Man Standing back after being gone for a year. So, what do I know. Then again, sounds like with The Middle gone and Modern Family ending next year. They want to give the show a second year since the ratings evened out.
-
Yeah, same with Nancy, so explains how they got her back. However, really, they need to bring Eve and Mandy back. I'm sorry, if it's Kristin, Ryan and Boyd only, should have let the show die.

Having the original voice actors for Darkwing Duck was just fantastic. Great twist on the return of Bulb and I loved Gizmo Duck's debute and Beaks being more of his enemy makes plenty of sense. Oh, happy days.

Plus, if you can smash the walls you can smash around it to get the window to completely fall out too. Most of the firefighter extras were just looking at the garage going: "Umm... I think I have to fart now."

With The Middle gone, Modern Family ending next year. Putting Speechless on Friday would be just a stupid move. They could put this in after Roseanne no problem or keep it on Wednesdays. Seriously, they need to put Shark Tank back on Fridays, since it was doing fine and just as good on Sundays. ABC just likes to shoot themselves in the foot sometimes. The one think they need to make sure of next season on Speechless, especially since they have a contracted 22 episodes. GET JJ out of HIGH SCHOOL and for the love of God, enough of the short jokes of: "See, they can get kicked out of their rental property too."

I know, the writers are like: "No one can google this or knows enough to drive a "bulldozer" through the holes in this story. Even when they were talking about the former Captain's first day as captain how he lost two men from a roof collapse. I wanted to go: "So, was that garage super steel too?" I mean yes, you will bake like a cake in an enclosed structure like that, but this was some super house. Where you can take down the garage door and apparently in an upscale neighborhood like this, the wife felt her house needed to be protected like the pentagon and blow over $60K in security. Especially, when she said she was in cyber security. So, you couldn't program your disks and cloud drives to lock down and wipe themselves? Oh no, turn the house into a fortress if someone punches the pin key wrong 3 times. Plus, as said, he had plenty of time to run back to the garage or get someone else who wasn't half asleep to do the code. Plus, good to know the house was contained in that area where he could just walk in and not be going: "Oh God! Fire, must hurry!" It was more: "Ok, walk in, look around, look some more, there is a fire in here?"

Yes, to all of this. Or how Bishop's hearing was gone and then it was the next day and she was fine. Now, if they follow up that her hearing has been damaged, then ok. Other wise, that kind of an explosion was all Stephine from Grey's logic. Something explodes in front of her and they get up fine.
-
Yes, especially how the $75K from the real estate investment magically paid it back too. Plus, as many of us said, it was a bad point since Lorelai could have used the money for the Dragon Fly, other bills, ect. Seriously, I hate how TV writes people who get a windfall like that. My family would have been paying all their main debt out and there would have still been money left over to invest or go on a nice vacation.
-
Or how they magically had energy to take the water heater apart and Bishop doing her mad dash worrying the lose piece could kill someone. Umm... you are all wearing helmets and behind a police car and shelving. What is the probability of that piece hitting someone from the explosion? Plus, while it was true, trying to get the police car to ram the door was a stupid idea because of the exhaust. Why did he have to hot wire it? It was the THEIR police car. Also, good to know unless you are Station 19 everyone else from other stations are just idiots and why didn't one of the other fortified fire engines try to ram the garage. It would have been just as good as a SWAT brand, plus they could have gotten back to that stupid hydroponic door. So interesting that water heater knocked that corner of the garage enough to get it open enough that people could get in and out. Plus for the Captain, umm... get out of the damn garage, then hug. You are killing yourself just by being in there too and shouting: "Turn the gas off" was stupid too. Duh.

My God! That was just completely ridiculous. I mean, that woman was so paranoid to have the entire house with special glass and re enforced steel. That means that house probably cost over $60K for all those upgrades. I don't care if the divorcing couple had the money for it or not, who did they think was going to break into the house? Plus, all those server connectors in the garage, the house wouldn't have gone into lock down like that. You have an over ride, just in case. Even the set up, he was that tired, he didn't do a quick channel check to make sure he heard them and kept on going with the wrong codes. Plus, he kept hitting the same buttons. I'm also sorry, when they were on the radio yelling at the police about the battling ram. No, that would have been there in a no time, good to know that the SPD are just as stupid on Station 19 as they have been on Grey's all these years. The Captain can argue all he wants, but when you put someone from the outside in as the new leader, you are going to get conflict and bad conflict. What does he expect? They will all get up on the new captain and outst him so both Andy and the Kevin will get the job then? I'm happy the season is over next week, they need to get back to figuring out how to write decent stories. That was another problem, if you could break in below the windows to get vents and put out the fire, why couldn't you do the same around the garage? They acted like the place was the Fallout Shelter 100.

That's been the problem since this story line even started. Even Bow admitting she had concerns with Baby D, but didn't say anything because she knew Dre would react back to it. He didn't start worrying until the birthday part because everyone was going; "Why isn't he walking? Why is he not doing this?" Then add in that Dre was making some very oblivious mistakes, even for Dre. I mean, he was so concern and on point in keeping the gender reveal secret. Making things so set that Baby D would be fine. Then he is not checking birthday cakes (old TV cliche) to just blowing up and worrying about one of his old watches being given to Junior and not worried if he died first? That makes nose sense. Then Bow from how she quit her job to make Dre happy and then realizing, she enjoys no one home instead of worrying about her own baby. Then add in how she doesn't want to share anything because Dre is a baby about everything. Whens he always over shared EVERYTHING for four years. Once again, the plot is driving the characters and not the other way around. It rings false.

Dollywood Style too!

I am in complete agreement.

That was a funny episode, felt like classic Modern Family. Boy, Haily has really worked for some crazy bosses before, but her current one... wow! So, of course Dillion has a monogamous marriage. This is Dillion, all looks and no brains. I have no missed Andy, but I love the nurse: "What am I doing wrong?" Yeah, I say keep the professor, and don't screw this up show, really you have one season left. I loved the "escape room" and even the solution. Cam: "They must never know they are smarter than us."

Nathan Fillion makes everything better. I am with Oliver, why the hell didn't Firefly get 2 seasons? This was a really funny and enjoyable episode. I knew it was Taylor who got the motel room from the start. I think it's perfect stated: "Teen age sex, everyone acts like they know what it is, think everyone is doing, but has no idea what it really is." Though, seriously ABC, you know there are a lot of sci-girls in the world, just like most video game players are women. I've seen plenty of "geeks" with hot girlfriends over the years and I was he ones who went: "What am I doing wrong?"
