  1. I don't think anyone is due. It's interesting to note (as Steph noted) all the winners have been women. I think the blind tasting is key to that. I wish there was blind tasting on Top Chef and other cooking shows.
  2. I think for the judges on guys show, they know where their bread is buttered. They're not going to diss his food. It's usually a lot more 'low brow' than want the judges usually serve. I did eat at the restaurant in Time Square. It was pretty meh. he had some kind of delivery partnership here, where is Cesar side solid was $14. Ridiculous.
  3. How the F did they rank Rey over Ed Green? Rigged I say!
  4. Yeah, I saw it. It was a fun show. The donkey bit was funny. My old music teacher has mentioned that folks would do that to chickens (him included). We all wanted to scrub our brains out after that.
  5. I noted that there was an error/forecasting in the voiceover when Matt said Sabirya had won 3 star bakers in a row. This was before the signature bake was even half-way through. Three weeks ago she was in the bottom, then she won two in a row. This is her third one in a row.
  6. Carole PEELED an avocado to make GUACIMOLO.
  7. I thought it was Morgan Fairchild playing her sister! 😂
  8. My husband is convinced I told him that I ran into Billy Idol one time. I have no idea what Billy Idol looks like. He is adamant that I did. I have no idea what he's talking about. The mind/brain is a fascinating thing.
  9. I dont think it's dumbing her down. My mom, aunts and older cousins mix people up all the time. It's a running joke in the family. It's not that serious.
  10. It could also be that his dad owns a business, so there are expectations there. Taylor works in liquor distribution, right? So I think she is used to a certain lifestyle, especially with going to all the tapas places. Those are not cheap.
  11. I think Gritty is more representative of a vibe. It's a way of being. Sports mascots are usually nouns, gritty is an adjective.
  12. I saw that the first time and was like WTF? Dude has a blow up mattress on the top of the car? I am sure he is in for a hard time in Bushwick. Who's going to pay 80% of his bills?
  13. Ugh. Come one! That tool? I didnt want Devi to end up with anyone, but if I were to choose it would be Paxton over Ben. Ben has had 1.5 episodes of not being a condescending asshole, but he has shown little to no growth. I guess the Ben centered episode was to redeem him and show him as somewhat worthy, but he is still a tool.
  14. Ben is a massive asshole. I dont think Devi deserves somewhat like that. Devi has her issues, but she doesn't condescend like he does and she has actual friends. He has huge red flags around him. He also has no friends. The flags are visible from space.
  15. Yeah, once the grating senoreatas said that, I knew ESO was toast. I honestly dont know why they didnt try and establish a SM presence once they knew they were going on the show. I liked that they were all about the food, but that will not be a winning strategy.
  16. I think they also said that they marketed a lot the night before. Sugar reached out to three parade people. We never saw Eso on social media at all. I think that was their ultimate downfall, along with bad parking spots, not calling businesses in advance. They thought the quality of the food would get them through.
  17. Sadness. I think anyone going on the show needs to think about the social media presence. Gone are the days of catching customers when they walk by
  18. I think that Senoreatas has a better social media game than the others. They always talk about putting things out there. ESO wants and most of the others seem to be more about letting the food speak for itself. I think they need to up their SM game. Did not like the walking around with the unbuttoned tops when everyone else managed to keep their clothes on. Plantains (green and ripe) is not just a Latin American thing. Very popular in a lot of African countries and in the English speaking Caribbean.
  19. Was sad to see Southern Pride go. I thought Maybe Cheese Born With It would get the boot. I hope ESO can pull it out. They clearly have the best food. I think they need to up their prices (Amawele too). Senoreatas can go as well. They are low-key annoying. Like you know they are the kind to constantly remind you that they are plant-based or vegan and judge you for it.
  20. Senoreatas can go anytime now. They don't own any spots. They are hella entitled.
  21. Ed Green was one of my favorites. What is Jesse L. Martin up to?
  22. I was glad to see that this version was not "Americanized" and the Cian was still at the helm. I think the coach from Australia did a better job than the American coach. I was happy for Abby and her dude. I loved that she asked him if he wanted to go on a cruise on the 3rd date and Subodh wanting to change his facebook profile to married after the first date. Although Adan wasn't insulted by Dani's talk about how inner beauty also matters, I was insulted on his behalf. I think having some guidance would help her a lot. The parents/friends are all so loving and supportive. I do wish Steve have found someone. My husband said he should read children's books. His voice is soothing. I think he may need to stray away from Eharmony to find someone. I think someone who is also on the spectrum may be good for him. I dunno.
  23. Can I say I hate when Guy cooks? He cooks these meals in like ten minutes and the judges fawn all over it. Then Hunter stands in for him. Hunter is getting more annoying, especially when he's on the judging panel. I mean, you have chefs who have opened restaurants, have cooked on the line, and them Guy's son is judging them? FoH.
  24. I'm the opposite. I forced myself to finish this season while I have watched season 1 a few times. It just felt so contrived. I just wasnt buying any heat or passion between them. Anthony was fine, but Kate wasnt working for me.
  25. It's really no different to the american version in terms of budget. I mean, we've had folks shopping on the US version with a budget of 110k, so if someone is shopping for 230 gbp, I don't see the difference. I like looking at the quirks in the UK homes. The homes in the US version are kinda all the same. grey floors, open floor plans, white kitchens.
