  1. Maybe David & Cameron appeared polished but they have a unique perspective in that they are children of law enforcement officers. I appreciated what they had to say, but I haven’t been glued to the news coverage and not over exposed to their message. I’m a baby boomer and I’ll admit my generation hasn’t lived up to the potential we demonstrated in our youth.
  2. If I ever read Pippi Longstocking I don’t remember but I guessed that too and had a similar reaction. My SO never pays attention when I’m shouting answers at the ? so he wasn’t as impressed.
  3. Well, everything went to shit, didn't it? That was a depressing episode for everyone.
  4. It was Janet Leigh's date of birth.
  5. I don't think that was so unusual back then with monarchs. Had to make sure they weren't faking it.
  6. I was pulling for Gary but I have to hand it to Lilly for going into overdrive in the DJ round. This is shallow note but I truly hated how she had the sleeves pushed up on her arms in that sweatshirt. ETA: it does sound petty, I know, about the sleeves, but it just looked a little sloppy. I know she's tiny and probably bought the smallest size she could find, but if she's insulted by my remark she's got $100,000 to comfort her.
  7. I got the impression that the maid had taken the other girl's place due to the fact she was going to have a baby and that she was keeping it on the down low as long has she was getting paid in some way.
  8. Alexander plays the guy who is eventually tied to some stakes and tortured for reasons I can't remember at the moment. Probably to rat on Blood but it's been a while since I saw that movie.
  9. The SO & I watched some of the first That's Entertainment last night and it dawned on me that most of the hosts besides Astaire were younger than I am now at 63. And they were mostly old hat by 1974. That was a rude awakening.
  10. Thank you. I'm old and even though the Eagles were popular when I was a young woman, for some reason it took me a while to pay attention to them.
  11. If I'm not mistaken the contestants must finish their response by the time the lights go out. That's why Alex doesn't call it wrong for a couple of seconds if they hesitate. I've never timed it, and I was a contestant almost 20 years ago, but it seems like about 5-10 seconds before the lights go out. Probably closer to five.
  12. As long as the lights on the podium are still lit, they have time to correct themselves. And the lights were still lit on that question.
  13. This morning on CBS This Morning, Henley was interviewed by Gayle King & she asked him about Meisner, Felder and that other guy Bernie whose last name escapes me and he said nice things about all of them.
  14. The nurse was in most episodes that involved a visit to the emergency room. One of them was when Howard ate the nut bar so Leonard would be occupied while the gang gave him a surprise party and another time was when Sheldon's barber was in a coma and he went there to see if he could wake him so he could get a haircut. I know she's probably been in one or two others, maybe.
  15. Not to get nit picky about it but the Beach Party Movies were set in California. However, Where the Boys Are was set in Ft. Lauderdale.
  16. I got back from the Turner Classic Movies Cruise a week ago & Alex was on there for a few days. He got off the ship when we docked in San Juan PR. He did a couple of trivia contests but the first one conflicted with something else we were doing and the second one was so crowded we couldn't get in. The only time I saw him was at the sail away party.
  17. If you notice the contestants get the time until the lights on their podium go out to answer, so unless it's completely wrong, then they do get some time to answer. I know when I was on the show about a hundred years ago, I had a category "BC" where the answers were two words beginning with b and c. The clue that I missed was Bactrian camel but I just said Bactrian and stood there at what seemed like forever before they ruled against me.
  18. The Master of Ceremonies is a pretty important "Greek chorus" character in Cabaret but I guess you'd have to be familiar with the play/movie to know that.
  19. I don't think Audrey had a leading man close to her age until Albert Finney in Two for the Road, and she was older than him in real life.
  20. I think maybe you'd have to be "of a certain age" to remember that Welles did commercials although the 3rd place guy was older. Maybe he wasn't old enough. But it's different sitting on the couch or recliner than standing there trying to think. I'm old as dirt so I came up with it immediately.
  21. She's alright, although both she & Ben seem to rely on their hands too much when making their point, whatever that might be. And I love Ben so I feel bad saying this about him. Tiffany, on the other hand, was very rude to a good friend of mine at the TCM Film Festival in 2015 for no reason. It's a long story, but my friend used to run a blog with a man who wanted all the credit without doing the work. They split acrimoniously and he's quite the suck up at these TCM events. Someone who works for TCM wanted to introduce my friend to Tiffany and she snubbed her. My friend surmised that her former blog partner had been talking smack about her to Tiffany. This was before TCM hired her as host. I just hope she's gotten over herself since then.
  22. He said in the monologue that it was his 9th time as host.
  23. I was a contestant in 1998 and I saw a variation on the final Jeopardy, that I got wrong, about a year ago in the regular game. So it's not a surprise that stuff gets recycled eventually.
  24. He looks a lot like my boyfriend's nephew Nicholas, but he's not famous so that doesn't really help you. ;)
