The Annual Golden Globes - General Discussion
Misslindsey replied to sdpfeiffy's topic in The Golden Globe Awards
I am a big fan of dresses and skirts with pockets, so I cannot fault any of the ladies that are wearing them. Taraji does look good. Does her dress have a cape or train? Lady Gaga looks great. She also has a nice looking arm candy. Not loving Kate Hudson's dress. Rooney Mara looks like someone shredded her dress. Does she ever look happy? -

I concur. Hair and makeup are great. The dress is not great, but I rarely like her red carpet looks. Steve Carell! I love Steve and Nancy! -

Did all the stylists go on strike or something? There are so many ugly dresses on the red carpet. I hate Amy Schumer too, which is a shame, because I like a lot of her views on things, but I find her so grating. -

Downtown Abbey still get nominations? Joanne looks nice. Not really loving her hair though. What are the ratings of Scream Queens? would a Jamie Lee Curtis win really guarantee a second season? Is the non-famous son not as annoying as Jaden and Willow? -

I like the color of J. Lo's dress on her, but I am so over the faux cape on anyone. -
I concur. I would like to see him advance or something and that is why he is leaving, instead of Ziva drama. I do think it is very probable that the writers (and a lot of fans) want him to walk into the sunset with Ziva. For me, while Tony is an integral part of the show, I do not think it really is that much of a game changer. I just hope they find a replacement that has chemistry with the team.

Hee! Nope, she was with Ryan. Gee, I wonder why. Yeah, I do not like Brie's dress either. She does look slouchy in that dress. -

Is Zendaya still with Disney? Too many tiers to her dress. Leslie Mann looks like a hot mess. Is Lena Dunham here? She usually is a hot mess. -

Laverne Cox looks amazing. Uzo not really loving it. I do not like the style on her. Sam Smith....Zzzzzzz....zzzzzzzz.... Bryce Dallas Howard's dress looks so matronly. I should applaud her for getting it off the rack. I had to laugh about her talking about her being a size six to Giuliana, who would not even gain weight to get pregnant. Kirsten Dunst...uh...interesting dress. -

Alicia Vikander's dress looks like an apron. Not loving it. -

I can't with Ross. He is grating for me. I hated Eva Longoria's dress either. I think Sophia Bush looks great. I love her dress. It fits amazingly. -

Oh I agree. I prefer the scientist girl to really anyone else, at least character-wise. -

I love Gervais so I am in for the whole telecast. I hope he makes a lot of cutting remarks, because that is why I love him. I also think Gina Rodriguez looks great. I think she is charming, but I stopped watch Jane the Virgin during the middle of last season. The dress is nice, but not wild about the Madonna-esque cone shaped boobs the dress has. Not loving Giuliana's dress. I feel like I saw a similar dress on Project Runway Junior a couple episodes ago. I kind of love Jamie Alexander's dress. -
I also think that most kids would want to run around in the fairly empty ballroom like Will and Zoey did when they first got there. It looked like they stopped before the guests arrived. Hell, I would be tempted to do cartwheels in that space.

Interfamily Relationships: Bates Style
Misslindsey replied to Ilovemylabs's topic in Bringing Up Bates
When Whitney had Bradley, didn't she get an epidural and Kelly was telling her it was perfectly fine to do so? I could be misremembering the whole thing. -
I concur. I like Carlin and her THs with Tori as well. I do not think she is attention seeking, but just has an outgoing personality. I like that all the kids have differing personalities and are not all wooden saying the right things all the time. I laughed at Lawson and Nathan at the dress fitting. Also at Nathan saying he would tell a girl exactly how she looks if she asked him, while Lawson said he would just tell them they look great. I like the sibling interactions and the good natured teasing between the family. Trace getting competitive during the kickball game and tagging out the little kids was hilarious to me. Nice to see Kelly and the rest of the girls enjoy playing the game as well. Whitney speaking for Zach about his grandpa was sweet. She wasn't very eloquent, but the sentiment was nice. I do not know if I heard correctly, but Zach wasn't there because he is in the process of becoming a cop? I forgot Kelly's sister's name, but I did like how happy Kelly looked for her and how she told her sister how pretty she looked in her dress.

My Top Chef UO is that I like all the regular judges Gail, Padma, Tom, Richard Blais, and whoever else the appears fairly frequently as a judge. I see most of the dislike directed at Padma and Richard, but I like them both. I think Padma does her job well. I have always liked Richard since his season.

I always liked Stefan. He had some humor and sarcasm to him. I loved during his original season his mad eel skills. I am horrible as well, because I was thinking the same thing. I feel like I know more about Philip's actress/model wife than some of the cheftestants. I am not a fan of Chrissy Teigen, but I laughed at Kwame's reaction to her. Wesley's lawn chair yoga cracked me up as well. I am pretty indifferent on Art Smith. I think for me, it depends on who he is interacting with. I loved watching him and his husband get married. So much Joy. I am fine with Giselle leaving, even though I might have been able to tolerate her more in the long run than Philip. Giselle was annoying me with asking Karen what and how to do whatever she was tasked with in the recipe for their dish. I know she wanted to do it right, but it was overkill.

I like Karen Page from Daredevil. I like her way more than Claire. I may not have liked all of Karen's actions, but understood why she did them.
-
Me either. Sometimes I like the sarcastic characters, but not on this show. I have the same problem with Modern Family's Alex. On paper they are normally characters I like, but onscreen I do not. I really only liked the Diane feud with Charlie, but he is gone so we do not even get that anymore. For me Dre seemed like he was a dick to Bow for most of the episode. It really wasn't what the episode was about, but some of his behavior was on the dickish side of things, especially talking to the women at the nail salon about Bow, while she is next to him, in a different language.

I did not think too much of her "I want this" while in the store. My nieces would do the same thing. They never expected for me or anyone else to buy it for them that second, but they just liked pointed it out. If you put me in the Barbie aisle in a store when I was younger I would point out how I wanted it all too. I do not remember, but in what month is Zoey's birthday? Does this show typically film at the same time each year? I am drawing a blank and so many episodes are running together in my head, but didn't last season also start with Zoey's birthday?
-
I did not watch the last few Ziva years, but tuned in when she left. Were there any recurring characters during that time that helped with the team that could possibly take Tony's spot?

I was a nanny when I was in college and some days it took forever to get two small children out the door. Some days were easier than others, but the time spent looking for particular shoes, wanting to wear matching shoes, one getting distracted, getting all the various winter clothes on, and other situations could take awhile. Sometimes they would have to be asked repeatedly to get their shoes on, and other times they would get ready with ease. I am with you. Everyone parents differently. I see fairly typical kids. Sometimes they are sweet and sometimes bratty. I know I was. I was not a polite angel all the time. I was the only girl and the youngest. I knew how to work that angle. I knew if I could cry I could generally get my brothers in trouble. Most of my aim was directed at my brothers, but I could be bratty to my parents too, well into my teens. None of it was an every day occurrence. I got warnings and my parents saying my full name in a warning tone. Not everything was time outs all the time. I admit to finding the Jen and Bill going over party plans scene funny. Bill and the poisonous pens made me laugh. Him cleaning while Jen was talking about the party. They seemed to good naturally tease each other. I thought it was fun to watch. I thought it was funny when Zoey pulled Will's gift of a bear out of the box and threw it on the floor. I am not guilty of driving my car with balloons in it, but I have moved to college with a car full of stuff where I cannot see out of my back window. I also, moved from Michigan to Chicago in the same manor.
