Sunny Hostin: The Former Federal Prosecutor With the Facts!
Shrek replied to GHScorpiosRule's topic in The View
I dislike her & her holier than thou attitude but I'll definitely hold off on the judgement for now. -
I've heard more than 1 Republican politician blame what happened in N.O. & L.V. on the "border crisis" & also "this is what happens when you don't secure your borders" was another statement. Now it may have been immediately after or the day after the NO incident but it was sure as hell put out there by several of them (Rs) as a way to blame Biden & the Democrats and immigrants for both incidents before too many actual facts were known. I even remember thinking at the time that "he was a U.S. citizen so that made no sense" in regards to N.O. so we already knew he was a citizen before these things were said. Or is this not blaming immigrants directly in your view? Genuine question as I haven't seen the show yet so I'm not sure exactly what Whoopie said but however it gets spun it was sure as shit said either directly or indirectly that it was down to immigrants, legal or illegal wasn't specified.

2/5 for this week & no*

From what I've read in the past about recruiting guests for the below deck shows originally the guests were already booked on the boats & didn't know which boats were being used as they changed a lot. Guests were then asked if they were willing to be filmed & if so had the charter paid for by production which is one of the reasons the tips were all over the place and some were very poor when compared to others. If you look hard enough you can find what boats really have been used for which series as the boats names are changed by production before filming starts which is the part I found fascinating. I believe this all changed during Covid and has stayed the new way ever since, hence the tips always being around the same amount & the whole thing being very formulaic now. Oh and boring as the spontaneity of the original few series has gone and it's now the same thing every fucking season & every damn boat. Obviously don't take this as gospel as it was a while ago (years) that I read all this & things have obviously changed since then.

I was just talking about the reliability v cost aspect & that one was no guarantee of the other. But as you asked, I know for sure the tv from 8 years ago doesn't, very much doubt either of the others do as it wasn't something I was looking for in a tv at the time. But it is certainly something I will take into consideration when I next buy a tv as age is quickly catching up with me now.

I bought a cheap tv from Walmart on a black Friday about 8 years ago & it's still working perfectly fine. Cost is no measure of reliability when it comes to today's consumer electronics like tvs as there are only a few companies making them & then sticking on a label for whoever is buying them that day. If they last anywhere near 5 years now I consider it a win as nothing is made to last anymore. I have 3 tvs and 2 of them had exactly the same remotes despite supposedly being from 2 different companies so I wouldn't get to worries about cheapness.

Just watched the first 3 episodes & it's still thoroughly enjoyable & funny.

Such is life.

I'm confused as to why you're paying 2 separate times. Is it the total added together for the whole thing or 2 different things? Makes no sense why you would pay twice for the same thing. We have the same bundle as you with the ESPN+ but they have another bundle with Max replacing ESPN+. Their price for the bundle with ESPN+ and no ads can be had for 27.99 but the way they do their pricing is very confusing & I'm no expert. I'm sure they make it confusing deliberately just to confuse people as nothing can be simple anymore.

The women looked like they were dressed by Forever21 on their clubbing night out & all that fuss about the black & gold makes me think that they still think they're going to a 21st birthday party. All that to say stop clinging to being in your early 20s, you can dress sexy without looking cheap & still have fun while doing it in your middle age.

There's so much to watch now it's hard to keep up but I'm waiting for series 2 to end & I'll probably watch it all in 2 sittings.

A miserable big fat 0, just couldn't get my brain into it this week.

I'm not having a good week so far but I wouldn't expect anything else with grandkids running around screaming for no reason at the most inappropriate times, not that I would have it any other way.

That's the whole point of the randomizer, it's random, and what you do has no bearing in who is chosen by it, the only thing you know is that it picks people who haven't been picked & the only way to have any say is to pick people yourself. The randomizer could pick someone first, last, or anywhere in between. Now maybe you could make a case for the concept being wrong or bad but if that is how you feel then go watch something else because it's not changing anytime soon.
