  1. Katie totaled Kelly's car several years ago. This was the bad accident she got into before she met Travis. She said that she always wanted to replace her mother's car when she had the means to do so. Apparently, Kelly had been driving an older, spare car all these years. Her cheapo husband never got her a new vehicle. Although I side-eye blasting it all over social media, it was a nice thing to do. I'd feel like crap too if I wrecked my mom's car and she couldn't replace it. I just hope they didn't buy from the Duggars. They're notorious for selling lemons. As far as the money, they've got it. Someone on Reddit estimated that model Nissan was around 25k used. Between YouTube, sponsorships and Influencing, they're probably pulling that in every month.
  2. Oh, most definitely. In the beginning of their marriage, Chad catered to Erin, but sometime in the last few years, the script flipped. When Erin first started doing YouTube, she had great content. It was a lot of recipes, homemaking, hair and makeup tutorials, practical tutorials on organizing; and she pulled in huge numbers. When they moved to Florida and the videos became more Chad and religion-centered, the numbers have dropped. People want to watch Erin cook. They don't give a shit about Chad making birdhouses. Also, notable that during their shop's Black Friday sale, Erin's homemade skin cream sold out. Chad's man cards did not. Anyone detecting a pattern here? Chad is obsessed with turning every aspect of their lives into a ministry and it's failing, and for whatever reason, Erin's going with it.
  3. Right? Carlin's sipping lattes from the balcony of the W, and Whit took Bradley and Kaci to NYC to see where they filmed Home Alone 2. How badly do you think Erin is kicking herself for refusing to do paid ads, as well as leaving that Boutique?
  4. Carlin tagged the Dubai Tourism Board and hotel in every picture, so it's likely they were the ones who sponsored the trip. They probably hire a marketing company to reach out to Influencers with sizeable followings, and religious/political leanings don't factor into it.
  5. No mention. Everyone on Reddit thinks they're angling to land at Bill and Jane's. That would allow them to keep the animals, but I'm not so sure Jane wants to live with six children. They left their pigs when they moved from TN, so I imagine they'll have to ditch the goats when they leave FL. It's honestly quite selfish of them to keep acquiring animals when they don't own property. A dog or cat is one thing, but it's not like you can just move anywhere with a herd of livestock.
  6. I don't know if you guys have been keeping up with the Paines, but wow, what a hot ass mess. Per their latest video, they have to leave their rental in the next few weeks and have no place to go. They didn't state that explicitly but it was heavily implied. Erin said they haven't talked much about the move because they haven't "finalized all the details" (despite having months to figure it out). The pretty obvious translation is they were hoping someone would come through with a free house, and it didn't happen. They're going to Tennessee for Christmas, so they'll probably be crashing at Kelly's until she can guilt a rental out of some church friend. It's mind boggling to think Chad is pushing 40 and has his family living like this. He needs to get his head out of his ass and realize prayer cards and doodles can't support a family of eight. Get a damn job, or two.
  7. If I were Lord John and Claire, I wouldn't even tell Jamie about sleeping together. It was fueled by grief and booze, so neither was in their right mind. I'm with the rest of you with regards to the pacing. I'm glad they didn't drag Jamie's disappearance out over multiple episodes. Poor William, finding out his whole life was a lie. Hopefully he eventually realizes everyone kept the secret to protect him. I'm actually liking the Roger sub plot. Also, what a twist that Rob never took Jemmy through the stones. I'm assuming this will lead to Brianna going back to find Roger and Buck, otherwise they could spend years on a fool's errand. Overall, my favorite episode of the season.
  8. cereality, your last paragraph was so funny because my first thought watching their reels is it looks like a young woman hanging with her gay bestie. They have no sexual chemistry whatsoever, and I think that's what happens when you're together 24/7. It's hard to maintain any spark or mystery when you're in each other's faces all day. I know it seems desirable to get all these free trips, but how much fun can you possibly have when you need to set up multiple camera angles every minute of the day? I'm also not surprised they're sticking to their diet of processed carbs when Middle Eastern food is healthy and delicious. Vegetables, lean meats and rice would be too much of a shock to their systems.
  9. Man, the comments on Instagram are not positive. They're getting way more criticism than they usually do. I know Carlin doesn't care so long as people engage, but maybe this is where her fans get turned off and stop using her discount codes and affiliate links. On a random note, I wonder why they didn't fly to NYC or Dallas and take Emirates directly to Dubai. Their business class is way better than Delta's. I guess grifters can't be choosers, but I'm curious.
  10. Wow, that's kind of shocking. I'm genuinely curious to see who comped this. Dubai is for flashy Influencer types eager to flex designer labels and throw their money around. It's also a mecca for Instagram 'models' who get flown out to do 'promotional work,' (cough, cough, wink, wink). The whole vibe is way out of Evan and Carlin's league. If they did spend their own money, my guess is their motivation was to one-up the Balkas.
  11. Same. I need the gelled blob that has ridges from the can. I don't like chutney-style cranberry sauce.
  12. Okay, thanks. The plot was moving so fast this episode, I was struggling to pick up on all the details.
  13. I don't understand the proposal angle. Wouldn't a quickie marriage only make Claire look more suspect? The Brits tell John that Claire will be arrested, they give her a day and she turns herself in newly married? Would their sense of politeness towards Lord Grey really outweigh their determination to win the war? Like others have said, I guess I can't think about it too hard! I'm wondering at what point in the season does Jamie come back? I'm not a book reader either, but yeah, his 'death' wasn't a shock when it's such an obvious fakeout. For me, Roger has the most interesting storyline thus far. Also, why does he not listen to Buck? I think Buck was spot-on when he said Rob ending up in pre-Culloden Scotland wasn't an accident. Roger's operating on the assumption that it's the gold Rob is after, but what if it's something else entirely?
  14. I'm not a book reader, but I've always handwaved the time travel as either a) taking you to the time period you're thinking about or b) taking you to where you're destined to be. I think leaving it ambiguous is a smart writing decision, because if the rules are set in stone, it doesn't give you much wiggle room if you want to change things as the plot unfolds. I didn't realize people got upset that there weren't clear parameters.
  15. Just did a quick Google search. Transatlantic crossings in the late 1700s could take anywhere from one to two months, depending on the time of year, route, winds, type of ship, etc. Then throw in however long it would take Claire to travel from Lallybroch to the coast to catch the boat. Nephew Henry must have one hell of an immune system to stave off infection for that long!
  16. Yay! Outlander is back! I thought the episode was good. I was NOT expecting the two plot twists: Roger ending up in the wrong time, and Geillis appearing at the end. I'm really curious to see how things unfold, now that we've got three timeliness. New Jenny was....okay. She didn't quite capture the feisty spirit of the original, but she wasn't so bad that it took me out of the moment. The scenes with Ian Sr. and Jr. were so emotional, especially when they said good-bye, knowing they'd never see each other again. My only eye-rolling moment was the Lord John letter. It seems unlikely his nephew would survive the months it would take for a letter to find Claire and for her to travel back to America, all while having musket balls embedded in his abdomen, but that's television for you! 😄
  17. With regards to parenting, I think it's like others on here have said: if the cameras aren't rolling, Carlin tosses a bag of Doritos and an iPad at them and calls it a day. I don't think they encourage any learning. With Layla, it's just princess dresses and mugging for the cameras. Zade is a total afterthought. Every minute in that house revolves around making content. A good part of that is the constant road trips, which means 'school' doesn't happen for four or five days at a time. There's no way Layla is retaining anything with such a chaotic schedule. In contrast, Alyssa is probably the most unhappy mother on the planet and even her kids have a dedicated school routine. Evan and Carlin are failing miserably.
  18. They're fellow Influencers. The relationship is one big circle jerk where they're all mutually using each other to boost their engagement and followings.
  19. I think one thing that annoys me about the revenge plot is Matty's inability to see Ellie as anything other than a perfect angel who deserves to have the world burned to the ground in the name of justice. I understand addiction is hard, I also understand a parent's always going to protect their kid, but still. Ellie had all the financial resources to get clean and have a great life and she chose not to. She had a kid to live for and prioritize, and she chose not to. If the law firm did something illegal, then sure they should be held accountable, but Ellie should be too. It's also a tad ironic that Matty is crossing so many legal, moral and ethical lines, which is basically what she's accusing the firm of doing. I think the case in this episode showed how, even when you win, you still sometimes lose. It'll be interesting to see how she proceeds when she finds out who hid the documents, especially if it turns out to be Olympia or Julian.
  20. I liked this episode, although I wonder if this show will be able to find it's footing without the interjection of the other YS characters. Montana's easy rapport with the old cast makes the lack of chemistry with the new cast even more obvious. I did think the duet with the brother and Dale was funny, and I wasn't surprised by Mary. The first holidays after a loved one dies are brutal.
  21. Here's the link. The tea is in the comments. https://www.reddit.com/r/BatesSnark/comments/1gq15jd/drempt/
  22. Katie really miscalculated when she moved back to Tennessee. Sure, she has fellow do-nothings to pal around with in Evan and Carlin, but she has no help with childcare. There's just too many sisters to share the babysitters with, and Kelly doesn't even take care of her own kids let alone the grands. I think Travis is fine stopping at 3 or 4, but we all know how Kelly operates. There will be a lot of pressure to keep the baby train rolling, especially if pregnancy is their biggest money maker. What I don't understand though is why they don't hire help? They're clearly not hurting for money. Surely someone at that big megachurch does nannying. Even if it was just a few days a week, it would give Katie a break.
  23. Six! Two boys, four girls.
  24. Damn. Someone on Reddit spilled a bit of tea! Their daughter is in the same ballet class as Layla, and she posted on a thread featuring a picture of Layla at the studio. Among the gems: Carlin and Evan are as absentee as you'd expect. Michael used to bring Layla to class, the few times E&C showed up, they were glued to their phones and didn't pay attention to their kid at all. The instructor can never find them when Layla needs to use the bathroom, because they sit in their car (as opposed to the lobby where the other parents wait). Layla always seems sad. OP said she was supposed to be in costume the day that photo was taken, but E&C forgot (big shocker). She inferred without being mean that Layla is not the most well behaved child (again, shocker). OP acknowledged that parents are allowed to film/take pictures one day a month to record progress, but was furious that Carlin keeps posting without editing/blurring the other children. OP spoke to the owner and her complaints fell on deaf ears (I guess the grifter with 450k Instagram followers is more important). She said she's allowing her daughter to finish the session and then moving her to a different studio. So in conclusion, the "happy family obsessed with making memories" facade they act out for social media is total bullshit. I knew it, lol.
  25. I think Josie and Carlin have figured out collaborating is good for both their brands. Not saying they secretly hate each other, but this newfound friendship has an underlying whiff of phoniness. Also, very interesting how on that girls' trip, Katie was the third wheel. It was all Carlin and Josie, yukking it up like lifelong besties, shilling their crappy merch. And yeah, none of those kids are going to UT. Layla and Zade are both way behind developmentally. Carlin posted reels of Khloe and Layla together recently and the differences were striking. If Layla does twenty minutes of school a day, I'd be shocked.
