  1. Josie and Kelton purchased five acres of land a while back. Also, notable, Nathan and Esther just bought land in Arkansas. I believe it's seven or eight acres.
  2. If memory serves me right, it was mid-300s? I've seen the pictures of Travis and Katie's house and it's way nicer. Better layout, better backyard and there's a detached garage with living space above. It's not a McMansion by any means (2100 sq ft, 3 bed, 2 ba), but still a good spot. Eta: oops, I was way off. Didn't realize it was 310k.
  3. They paid 560k. Not too shabby for a social media hustler and a Christian music dabbler.
  4. I pray they don't because it happened in my extended family and it caused an insane amount of bitterness and bad blood. I don't think Bill would be that dumb, but I could see the wheels turning in Erin's and Chad's heads.
  5. Most definitely. Chad and Erin are big on "investing in their children" which on the surface isn't a bad thing, but I also think it's a copout he uses to avoid getting a real job. He can't work 8-5 construction for a legit outfit, because he needs to be home by noon to build birdhouses with Carson. It's like they don't understand that yeah, workaholic parents who aren't around isn't good for kids, but neither is a dad who can't keep a roof over their heads. I also agree that he's a dreamer. He says over and over that they want to buy a house yet does nothing to maximize his earning power. Are they hoping some church friend deeds them one for free? Are they waiting on an inheritance from his parents or Papa Bill? Are they planning on time traveling back to the 1950s so they can buy one for 3k? I think Erin is well aware he's a moron. You can see her expression hardening every time he opens his mouth.
  6. It's sad because I think Allie is incredibly bright but how do you learn with no hands-on instruction? No teacher to give little tips or tricks, or explain things in an alternate way? No extra help for students who may be struggling. Alyssa is not qualified to homeschool, and even worse she's totally disinterested. FWIW, I don't think privacy and the kids' well being really factored into this decision at all. You can't convince me that if Alyssa was pulling big money like Katie and Carlin that she'd walk away. They quit because the mask slipped. They're not good enough actors to convince everyone they're a happy family and the children are equally loved.
  7. Thanks, I'll have to rewatch. Sometimes it's hard for me to understand the dialogue so I focus hard on that and miss body language.
  8. I wonder if Erin's tried to talk sense into Chad and it's fallen on deaf ears? The way she became so animated at the prospect of Trace intervening makes me think Chad isn't open to opinions unless they come from another man. While I think two couples going in on land together would be disastrous, poor Erin seemed so thrilled with the possibility. With regards to buying, Chad and Erin have been saying this for years. Either they're completely clueless as to the state of the economy and housing market or this is the lie they tell themselves to make life somewhat bearable.
  9. Alyssa has always been contemptuous towards her fans, which is why her Influencer career stagnated while her sisters are rolling in dough. She's just flat out awful at p.r. All she had to do was say "We're taking a step back to focus on our family." Short, sweet and understandable. Instead she blames her fans, scapegoats Allie and takes zero accountability for her own failings. Also notable that she and John addressed things they're often criticized for: John's disinterest in the girls and the lack of fun/joy in the family. It comes across like they're the ones who can't handle the negative feedback, and they made Allie the sacrificial lamb.
  10. I love this show, but all these near-deaths that are meant to be shocking aren't having much emotional impact any more. We know Claire isn't going to die, just like we know Jamie really didn't go down with the ship. I just roll my eyes at this point. I'm curious to see where Brianna and the kids end up. One thing has me confused though. When Buck and Roger were talking about their family lineage, Buck refers to himself as Roger's great-grandfather. Wouldn't he be Roger's great-great or great-great-great? With 200 years separating their births, surely there's more than one generation between them?
  11. I haven't seen the video yet, but that was my first thought upon reading the comment. Alyssa's numbers have been tanking for a while and she never has any sponsorships. She also outsources the editing, which comes off her bottom line. It may no longer be worth the effort. Also, like you said, negative comments have been increasing with regards to how poorly she treats Allie.
  12. My friend's husband is a firefighter and on his off days he picks up handy work. It's amazing the amount of people who can't do even basic home repairs or don't want to be bothered. He told me his biggest request is hanging flat screen tv's on walls. His situation is the best of both worlds: he gets salary, benefits and retirement through the city and a tidy amount of cash from his side gig. Chad could easily do something similar.
  13. When you rented, I'm assuming you or your partner had a steady job and paystubs to show you could cover the rent. Chad's income is sporadic. He even admitted on one of their last Q&A's that sometimes he's busy and sometimes he isn't. Most landlords aren't willing to take that risk, which is why they rely on family and church friends.
  14. Thank you for the link, I plan on watching it this evening. It's hard to fathom people on the Ramseys' level of wealth were so lax on security. Granted, the mid-90s were a different time, but still. Keys given to random tradesmen, a broken window that hadn't been fixed in months, an alarm system they never used, a child's bedroom far away from her parents with a balcony and outside entrance, touring strangers through the home, etc. I know hindsight is 20/20 and J&P probably never thought they'd be victims of a heinous crime, but talk about a perfect storm of factors that allowed it to happen.
  15. Someone in the YouTube comments asked if that was Tori's in-laws' house and I think people ran with it. Maybe the layout and design appeared similar to the Smith's home when it was featured on the show, but it isn't necessarily the same place. If I'm not mistaken the Smiths aren't from the Orlando area.
  16. I've always been 50/50 on the Ramseys' guilt, but the intruder theory is plausible. The house was nearly 8,000 square feet with a maze-like layout and four levels. Someone could've easily been hiding undetected and roamed around while the family was out on Christmas day. Agreed. If they test the DNA and it turns out to be a local sex offender, then their department looks even worse than it did the first time around. It would underscore the inept, sloppy investigation and tunnel vision. It means they dragged an innocent family through the mud for 30 years and allowed a child predator to go free and likely commit more crimes. That DNA will never see the light of day.
  17. I used the word evicted in my previous post, but I meant it jokingly as a reference to how ill-prepared they seemed during those last few days in the house. If they were allowed to stay until the end of the lease, I assume they were paying the rent. I haven't heard anything, but if he did, that's a surprise. Bobby is/was an administrator with Kelton's company. I'm not sure he knows enough about the actual trade to start a business.
  18. I agree, I'm just saying Erin can hawk the same crap the rest of them do without putting the kids in the ads. She's a very pretty woman. She could easily get sponsorships for makeup, skincare, teeth whiteners and other similar products.
  19. Funny but not-so-funny story about LuluLemon. A lady on my mother's tennis team went in there to shop. She was trying on a jacket and struggling to find the right fit and the sales girl told her "You know, this stuff is really meant for younger women." Oof.
  20. That's typical Chad and his magical thinking. Speak it and the Lord will make it happen. Never mind having an actionable plan (i.e., getting licensed, stopping the baby train, maximizing their social media income, etc.).
  21. Per their latest video, Erin and Chad found a house. They're staying in Florida. The place is in a regular neighborhood. The house is okay, but they don't have land and looked to be on a busy street. They're keeping their dog and rabbits, but rehoming the goats. None of the kids were remotely excited and had to be badgered into saying something nice about it. Erin and Chad had hoped to move back to TN, but the two houses they were looking at fell through. The video was filled with Jesus-speak about God opening doors, closing doors, presenting opportunities and telling them to wait. Erin seems really sad underneath the toxic positivity. She spent a portion of the vlog praising Chad's virtues, but you wondered whether she was trying to convince us or herself. The move itself was a chaotic mess. Nothing was organized and packed. It seriously looked like they were just stuffing shit into crates because the marshals were coming to evict them the next day. The kids were all over the place and constantly getting in the way. Chad said they'll be in a better situation a year from now, and will buy when the market gets better. Sure, Jan...
  22. They did, but there was some sort of falling out around the time Erin had covid and her reproductive issues. She hadn't posted about BSB or been featured in their photo shoots for months. Fans were asking about it on Erin's, Whit's and Carlin's social medias and not getting an answer. Finally, Erin addressed the elephant in the room with her usual Jesus-speak and said after prayer and consideration, she chose to step back. Since then, Erin has had nothing to do with Carlin. No pictures together, no comments on posts and not attending get-togethers or birthdays at each other's homes. Also notable is when this was going on, Katie deleted all pictures of her and Erin together from her Instagram. It was a huge about-face from Erin and Carlin being really close and together all the time. Even now in the footage from Gil's birthday, they were filmed on opposite sides of the room. Carlin posted pictures of her with all her sisters, minus Erin. Whatever went down cut really deep.
  23. I think Bree couldn't come up with a convincing cover story the last time the police were there, so they've written the whole thing off as an affair gone bad or a loony woman looking for attention. If she calls them again, they'd certainly want to speak with Roger and question why he wasn't on the first plane back to Scotland. They'd also want to question Jemmy. There's too many complications.
  24. I figured it was only a matter of time before Bree went back with the kids, and here we are. I missed Buck too. He's rough around the edges but wise. Right? Good-looking, French and he travels with a ship full of cheese?! I'd be fluffing up the guest room pillows like there's no tomorrow. I'm so confused now that half the characters are turning out to be spies. I can't keep names, nationalities or alliances straight. It seems a tad unlikely a privileged, aristocratic kid like William would stick his neck out for a prostitute, but I'll roll with it for now.
