Erin and Chad: Fifty Shades of Pink
BitterApple replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Bringing Up Bates
Kelly must've strong-armed one of Gil's church members into giving them a house. How long were they down in Florida? Two years at most? -
Carlin and Evan: But Mostly Carlin!
BitterApple replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in Bringing Up Bates
I wonder if this is where the worm starts to turn. People are really struggling right now. Gas prices, inflation, grocery prices, economic uncertainty, environmental disasters, an upcoming shit show of an election. I don't think Carlin's fan base is wealthy. It must grate that they're struggling to put food on the table while E&C casually mentioned they totaled their 120k car, but it's no biggie because they've got two others they can use. Or watching Evan squeal like a two year-old over a power outage when their husbands don't have the luxury of lounging by a pool all day. Alyssa got a shit ton of negative comments on her latest vlog as well, so maybe people are finally waking up. -

Ah, so Carlin's pregnant and they're fishing for a free/discounted SUV? Is that about right? My guess is they'll get whatever Katie is currently driving. When Katie got her new car, she tagged the dealership multiple times, so you know she got a nice percentage off. I'm guessing someone will offer a similar deal to Carlin. And the grift goes on.... -

That's so funny because my first thought was someone blindfolded her and told her to pick ten random items at the thrift store. My tinfoil hat theory is BSB has to be a front for a fentanyl operation. Nobody can convince me these hideous clothes are supporting two families in luxury along with several employees. -

I saw the video and it's obnoxious. The exaggerated facial expressions and excitement over beige pumpkins are so fake and coached. Carlin and Evan have done a bang-up job of turning Layla into a smarmy, unlikeable kid. -

Me too. I grew up with a mother who loved busy wallpapers and tons of knick-knacks, so I can appreciate the neutrals and simple decor. My sister and I had the 1980s Laura Ashley bedding and I'm still traumatized from having to arrange the 12,478 throw pillows. -

Did they really stay out there the whole night or did they film their sponsored content and go back inside? -

It was odd to me as well. If I'm not mistaken, Lawson's been home several times since William's birth. Maybe Carlin was away on one of her many vacations so their paths never crossed? -

My love affair with hot tubs ended when I was working out at a hotel gym. A guy got off the treadmill drenched in sweat, proceeded to the pool area and hopped into the tub. No pre-shower, no changing clothes, nothing. 🤢 -

He probably did one or two baptisms in it and expensed it to the church. -

The yard looks just as tacky from the sky as it does from ground level, but I guess they're happy with it. -
Yep and notice how Hailey is now on the Layla diet of chicken nuggets and sugar. Katie will buy Hailey her own giant ice cream cones rather than just give her a spoonful of whatever mom's having, like most parents would do. It'll be a race between the Clark and the Stew kids to see which set ends up pre-diabetic first.

Erin and Chad: Fifty Shades of Pink

Travis' dad bought him the New Jersey house. They have no mortgage, no student loans, and I'm assuming the family cabal covers their health insurance. It's amazing the fun toys you can buy when you have no bills! -

Tiffany's parents did that for her and Lawson. Unfortunately, they put his name on the house, which was a dumb move. -
Meet the Parents: Gil and Kelly Jo Bates
BitterApple replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Bringing Up Bates
Kelly had the same top on when she visited baby William, which got me thinking: did Josie not pop in to see Lawson? All of her recent posts have been from the game and her AirBnB. Neither she nor Lawson/Tiffany posted any pictures, so I'm guessing no. This makes me feel bad for Tiffany yet again. She's a new mom who had a rough postpartum recovery. It would've been awfully nice of Josie and Lydia to invite her over to their rental house so she could enjoy the pool and have some girl time. In fairness maybe they did and there will be a flurry of pictures today, but everyone always seems to leave Tiffany out. -

I think Erin and Chad could provide a lot of help to Bill and Jane, but I'm not sure how six kids would affect the balance of that household. The last time Carlin and Evan invaded, Bill looked uncomfortable and stressed. It might all be moot anyways. Somebody from their church will probably bail them out, just like they did last time. My biggest fear is that Erin will pop out three more kids and poor Carson will be the Lawon of the family, paying the bills when he's only a teenager. I could easily see that happening. -

Do Chad's parents have a big spread? Maybe that would be an option. I can't remember where the Paines are from. I agree it would be really hard for them to go back to Rocky Top and see the Bates siblings balling while they're stuffed in another tiny rental. FWIW, Bobby and Tori bought another house a while back, they're no longer in the starter home next to Z&W's old place. So yeah, even uber-Fundie Tori is doing better and Kelton is clearly paying Bobby well. Also if the feud is going strong with Carlin, it's going to burn hearing about everyone spending weekends at her pool while you and your kids are left out. Or watching Katie buy her umpteenth Louis bag while you're shopping at Goodwill. Someone like Michael may not genuinely care, but Erin would love to live the high life if she could. She was always an uppity princess. -

I knew this would happen eventually. When you grift and put your well-being in the hands of others, you're playing with fire. With everything going on now with the economy, inflation, upcoming election etc., people have to make decisions that best support their own bottom lines. Erin's landlord has bills to pay too, and he probably can't afford to give them cut-rate rent for the sake of Godliness and helping out sweet church friends. My guess is they won't find another property in Florida. It's too expensive and Erin and Chad aren't ideal tenants. The only employed spouse does sporadic handyman work, and comes with six kids and a menagerie of farm animals. I imagine any place willing to give them a chance would charge such an outrageous cleaning and security deposit that the Paines couldn't afford it if they robbed a bank. I agree Bill and Jane's is the best bet. I think Chad has too much pride to go crawling back to Tennessee. -

No retaining wall at the far end?! That pool is going to be a mucky mess with the amount of runoff that's going to flow down from that slope. I wonder if the builder advised them to put one in and E&C declined? They don't seem to be making wise decisions with this backyard. -
Josie and Kelton: They Have Employable Skills

She was working as a stylist when she got married, so my guess is 18/19? -
Alyssa and John: Lunch with Lurch
BitterApple replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Bringing Up Bates
The Redditer figured out Alyssa sold 66 out of the 600 hats, but I wonder how many orders that translated to? If people were purchasing say, an adult and a couple of kids hats per transaction, the numbers could be even more dismal. -

No, it's one style of hat, available in three sizes. -

I just saw that on Instagram, lol. I honestly feel bad for Alyssa at this point. UnCheerfullyU is only a week old and she already needs to have a sale? Her latest post with Rhett only has 96 likes and no comments, despite being up for four hours. I don't know if she fell into the trap of thinking her following was more loyal or what, but this was a really bad idea from jump. She might as well donate the hats to Goodwill and write off the loss. -

Oh my gosh, I can't unsee it! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Pretty much. At least the putting green should get plenty of use, it's not like Evan has a job to report to.
