Although the level of skill was more akin to face painters at children's parties. Made me more appreciative of the SW contestants.

She's my favorite character by far. Just putting that out there so she knows (and she might!) that there's at least one of me. :)

It was fairly perfunctory. Berlin suddenly losing her nerve is not in keeping with what we've come to know of her. If she's really gone, there should at least have been a scene with her and Nolan saying goodbye. It's possible she and the arms dealer ex may get highjacked on the road so she's forced to return to Defiance, but her departure did smack of the actress being written out of the show for whatever reason.

No idea, but finding out that wings can be pinned was so traumatic that I don't want to learn any more.

I enjoy both as well, but for now -- which could change week to week -- I'm more intrigued by Dark Matter.

Million Dollar Listing SF - General Discussion

The hydraulic car lift in the garage is a nice touch, and the EV plug. Interesting choice of flooring that I'm not sure is everyone's taste. The bottom level is fitted out to be a separate apartment -- do these vaunted "tech buyers" need mother-in-law suites? -
I honestly don't know how I feel about the police lying to suspects during interrogations: You failed the polygraph. We have your fingerprints/DNA at the scene. We have a CC video of you. A witness saw you there. On one hand, if the suspects are innocent, they should realize the cops are making it up. On the other hand, that's how false confessions are coerced.

Indeed. Stop redeeming everyone, show. I was fine with a crewful of rogues.

For me, KJ could be any episodic crime show with the addition of grunting fight scenes and bad lighting. I'm not all that interested in any of the three leads or their insouciant brand of snark. On the other hand, I'm really enjoying unpacking Dark Matter. Pretty soon there'll be a Facebook quiz -- Which KJ or DM character are you? -- and we can figure it all out. ;)

I teared up a little when Alak gave Datak his wish of seeing the baby one more time. But he's not dead yet! Someone or something will interfere. I agree with your guess that it will be the invading horde and Nolan needs Datak to help fight. I hate that children add rocks to the shaming pile. But then, I'd never choose to die with dignity when that equals horrible torture. Tradition and culture my ass. Oh, Amanda. How you've changed from the optimistic, gentle woman we first met. You also used to be clean and combed your hair once in a while. I'm also a little nostalgic the villains of old -- Nicky Riordon seems pretty milquetoast these days.

Did the synth manufacturer also go to the trouble of adding a sex drive? Is there a separate switch that enables a synth's libido? Anita sure didn't seem to be into it when Toby was making his smooth moves, nor was she aroused by being naked in front of Joe. If the point is simply to bang a limp fish like the John in the brothel was doing to Niska .... that doesn't seem like a good ROI. I mean, I'm interested enough to watch and see how things unfold, but the way the synths are being presented is malarkey. The only reason to make them indistinguishable from humans is for sex* and and the only reason not to have helper versions that don't look human is so nobody can tell which ones are being used for sex and which aren't. I feel bad for the cop being jealous of his wife's synth, since in a normal world it would be a blessing to have a robot who could toilet her and help with physical care. A robot who didn't have a functioning dick, that is. Joe and Laura don't seem to like each other much, even before Anita. No tenderness, no touching, no intimacy. * Well, perhaps espionage of some sort.

Also, what version of wienie is Justin that he gets so freaked out by some woman flirting with him? Like, stuttering and never knew such a thing was possible. -
Million Dollar Listing SF - General Discussion

Justin is such a dork! And here I thought Roh was cast for the up and coming striver role. So we saw one house under construction and re-saw two from last week. A little light on real estate porn for my taste. -
Cute enough to make me actually look up from the computer and think, "Wow Jenn and her husband sure made gorgeous children." And less kindly, "They don't get that from their father." Am I skewing this in my mind or do the producers seem to go out of their way to cast tall people? Because then their final weight -- which most of the time is still kind of high -- is distributed better. I'm also tired of the pre-loss photograph: "Stand with your legs spread, point your toes to the side, pull your waistband down so that your gut rolls over, and hold your arms out stiffly at your sides."

Wow, the guest judge was a bigger dick than some of the contestants.

Seven Year Switch - General Discussion

Personally, I'm hoping you all are going to save me from watching. :) How horrible is it? -
I'm still trying to recover from the family bath, what with Datak getting in while he was oily-filthy and he and Stahma having sex there. The notion of a penis seems to be shared among these particular aliens, at least. Anyone's guess if they ejaculate, but I still have to be human about how gross it is to share that water!

Do you think the writers/Esmail have and are as well? ;)

Tiny Houses Ad Nauseam (Except Tiny House Nation)

Haha! Perfect! Of course, once I personally squatted down that far to sit on the toilet, I'd never be able to get up again. -
Late Night With Seth Meyers - General Discussion
zxy556575 replied to Words's topic in Late Night With Seth Meyers
I don't typically watch Seth unless he had a guest I particularly like, but I caught a repeat of the show with Jerry Seinfeld and David Remnick of The New Yorker, and it was fabulous! The tone was mostly set by Jerry taking his segment in an interesting direction, along with the interplay between him and David Remnick, but Seth was not only able to contribute, he also kept the conversation flowing in an organic and enjoyable way. I was impressed. -
Tiny House Hunters - General Discussion

Exactly! Precious is exactly the right word -- some of these people seem to be hung up on the "movement" as a fad to accessorize their imagined lifestyles instead of being truly informed about what will work best for them. I got no beef with people downsizing to a smaller house or apartment, but paying a premium for one of these gentrified places when a manufactured home would work perfectly well and be tiny and be on budget is absurd. But most of them would chew glass before they'd live in a "trailer park." The no-headroom loft would be a deal-breaker for me, too. I've lived in several studio apartments smaller than 300sf, but they either had a Murphy bed or a day bed that doubled as a couch. (I'm a big fan of wall beds.) But I did live in those alone. I agree with others that a second person would have been problematic. -
Did we also drop the plot about Shayla no longer having any income and Elliot not being able to get his drugs? This episode kind of becoming the Tyrell show made me wonder. We spent a lot more time away from Elliot than we have before. I haven't seen Rami Malek in anything before, but I think he's bringing a lot to Elliot -- that dull and lifeless quality while simultaneously having such a tightly wound and vibrant interior monologue.

Any news for season 3 yet? I'm not seeing anything online. I miss the show! I was watching a show called Curvy Brides and thinking I'd love those two sisters to be couchers. -

Did I miss a storyline about Marc getting his own TV show? I thought that scene in the producer's office was going to turn out to be a dream.
