Daisy remembers what she did. She wouldn't be laughing about it if she can't recall at all. It's a way to not own up to making out with Gary. Ashley going to have fun on the boat. Wasn't it verboten on one of the BD shows to have sex in one of the passenger cabins? But Glen doesn't care, as long as he's being paid for the use of his yacht. Gabriela better make sure Ashley cleans up, changes the bed in that cabin. Daisy hates beach picnics. It's a way for Bravo to make the crew jump through some hoops. The dining experience would have been a lot better on the yacht, especially people complaining about the heat. The tent was nice but they could have gone in air-conditioned cabins. Or ride jet skis rather than play badminton. This is how you know the preference sheets are all fiction. Kenzie said the paella was prettier than her, even though she flossed with her hair. Speaking of dental hygiene, they conk out from the drinking and making out. Nobody showering or brushing their teeth.

Real Time with Bill Maher in the Media
aghst replied to Maherjunkie's topic in Real Time With Bill Maher
Bill Maher does a long sit down interview with Adam Carolla on the latter's podcasts. Two guys with anti-covid and anti California regulations kissing each other's butts. Adam has been thirsty for years about getting back on Bill's show. Apparently Bill is touting Club Random, his podcasts where he has long interviews. Apparently he sat down with Ben Shapiro to talk up fat people dying of covid. -
Did anything happen? Sam struggles up some steps, makes borscht, the daughters prefer grandma’s chicken wings, walks out in a snit when the girls want to see old photos, gets in a little argument about nothing with her doctor’s receptionist, has a Feng Shui session where she shoots down every suggestion, has to talk her mother of going to San Francisco, then runs the temps. Feng Shui guy was sensing all kinds of things except the snark and the loud eye rolls behind him. Every suggestion was move this or move that and then when Sam says no, put on some colors instead. What’s he cooking up next?

My Brilliant Friend - General Discussion

S03.E04: Cold War So much for happiness and fulfillment for those who stay. Pietro that SOB doesn't want her to get on the pill. Knocks her up on wedding night. He didn't care about Elena's education, just wanted a pretty young woman to play housewife and mother to his children. He hides out in the study and avoids Lenu except when he's feeling horny. Lenu is happy during her pregnancy. Then the cold reality of raising the kid hits her. She still doesn't insist on going on the pill, makes him use a condom -- sometimes. She should have transgressed, moaned out from the window overlooking Piazza Santa Croce. So Lenu can only write fictionalized accounts of what happened in her old neighborhood, as much as she hated the place. Lila tells her both her books are bad. Now she and Enzo are a couple and they make good money. So distressed is she by Lila's criticism that she lets herself get knocked up again. She had that epiphany about how the women in the neighborhood became ugly as they gave birth and raised children. She also hated that she inherited her mother's limp shortly after her first daughter was born. But all that went out the window. Despite her best intentions, she has the makings of a limiting, uninspiring life, like the other women in the old neighborhood. -

Odds are against Lenu and Lila. They were just born in the wrong place and time for their intellects. They're a better off than their mothers and grandmothers but there are clear examples of other young women their age, who had the benefit of being raised in more privileged families, having more options for education and career, not being forced to marry some louts in their teens. Lila could have stayed near that factory, which she doesn't plan to ever return to. But unless that's the only rent she and Enzo can afford, no reason to be near those smoke stacks. Even though she wasn't accepted back in the neighborhood, she'll figure it out or better yet, leave the place, as the montage in the opening suggests she's somewhere else? -
The real aggrieve anti-maskers will actually confront people. Or these idiots would picket schools and during recess, try to lure kids to the fence and get them to take their masks off. Yeah it's one thing not to want to wear masks personally. But expressing annoyance that others choose to wear masks, even in his studio audience? That's way more than following the science as he claims. He's not citing any science when he fat shames, says people who die from covid are basically fat and old.

Yeah 30 years ago they went to places which are unusual. Now with porn everywhere, it seems tame. But even in the early '90s, weren't there movies like 9 1/2 Weeks and other supposedly mainstream features which took risks or should I say risques? There were whispers that such and such couple really had sex on camera and so on. There was one Italian or French film where an actress performed fellatio -- not like in porn films, just putting it in her mouth for a few seconds -- and that film got a release in the US and some coverage. Some critics were outraged and panned it. I think it was a female director and she had done "serious" films before and after.

They'd have to get the casting approval from MTV first. Sam and Juliette's scenes were weird. They're suppose to have been in love and lived together. Seemed like strangers and Sam was given the direction to pout and Juliette is like "I think I might want to move. Oh I already leased an apartment. Want to come to LA with me now?" So no Maddison or Garrett so far this season. Not that they were so charismatic. Now you have Cara and Kelsey with their boring guys. This show needs Alex and Pauly Paul back.

Wow it’s so good. Just pitch perfect. Like the long shot inside the bus in the finale, when she doesn’t get off the bus to go t9 the airport and smiles slowly appear in their faces, first Tom, the. Jessie. Matafeo is just 30 and this is the first series she created?

So is there any kind of indication on when they will film and when they will try to air season 34? Maybe they're trying to film now, though cases have eased in the US, cases in Europe are going back up and US may follow. OTOH, more and more countries are opening up, including some Asian countries. Chances are situation will be better in the summer but then those are peak months so busy in all the places they could visit. Have they ever filmed in high season, middle of summer? Not just bigger crowds but the heat may make racing unpleasant. If they wait towards the end of the year, they may run into another winter wave. I think they just avoided the Omicron wave when they re-started season 33?

May have to try to rewatch the first two seasons, it's been so long.

Thing is, they had him lose his job as US Attorney for SDNY when a new administration took office and the new AG was this Texan played by Clancy Brown and Chuck clashed with him. So they could have written it so that he gets re-appointed as US Attorney, where his powers would be more broad to investigate any type of crime. Would have been harder because Prince is supposedly way cleaner than Axe but at least it would have been more credible that Chuck would use his office as a federal prosecutor far more broadly. As AG for the State of New York, he was sticking his nose in things he had no business doing. That would be the obvious fix, to make him US Attorney again, even if he lost his state job. But now Dave is the acting AG for NYS so maybe she will do his bidding anyways.

Prince might have let it go but Chuck had to go and try to dance on the grave of his Olympics bid, asking Prince to give him the property he'd bought for the Olympics. So they come up with a shiny object for Chuck to chase, which is some fancy park in Manhattan only for the rich. One of the rich complained that they had to use Open Table to get restaurant reservations, like the common folk Meanwhile Prince and his team with Sacker's help, are chasing State Senators to have Chuck removed from office for abuse of power. They specifically mention personal vendettas. Why didn't Axe ever think of this idea? Or hire away Sacker? He did try to hire Connerty. In any event, Prince flips all the State Senators he needs, including whose loyalty Chuck thought he earned by attending his wife's funeral, offering them money for projects in their districts. Chuck is caught completely flat-footed and has to make a hasty defense and gives this one long-winded speech about how removing him from office will be like the Hindenburg blimp. Even Prince applauds the speech, even though it's nonsense and didn't sway any of the State Senators. There's no discussion of the reasons he should be removed from office. All they had to mention was the fact that he took the Olympics from the State of New York. Meanwhile, Wendy is AWOL, supposedly grieving the loss of the Olympics bid and her role as coach. So Taylor has to prevent Dolla Bill and Mafee from raiding MPC of Ben Kim and Tuk -- worst poker face ever! Taylor brings them all together and first uses the stick, promising to destroy Bill and Mafee's High Plains Capital if they hire Ben and Tuk away from MPC. Then they use the carrot approach, telling them how valued they are, how things won't be like Axe Capital again but they'll be great. Taylor was way more persuasive than Wendy has EVER been at managing, threatening and motivating enemies and employees.

Risks? The interrogation scene?

Brittini rhymes with martini seems to be proud of that name. Says people can call her Britt but she prefers the full name. They said 50 meter? Doesn't sound that large but obvious is comparable to the other BD yachts, as far as galley, the various lounges and decks. It doesn't seem to have the big garage-like compartment in the back, with it dropping down for them to put the jet skis in the water. Instead they keep the jet skis on the deck and lower them by winches? But it also doesn't appear to be tall enough for the super slide? Or have that large inflatable trampoline. Instead looks like snorkeling will be one of the key activities offered. They said sting rays are okay if you don't get too close to them you'll be fine. Steve Irwin got killed by a sting ray, though it was around Cairns.

How about the Polish Latina grinding on Jamie's groin in that skimpy bikini but when her soulmate that she's been dating for 5 months says he's going out with some friends she wants to know if there will be girls. Then Jamie acting salty finding out about Magda's boyfriend back home and not interested in the other single women? Jason didn't mind Magda going out with the guests for snorkeling but didn't like her thong-like swimsuit bottom letting her ass hang out. He wanted her to cover up. I can see the usual Bravo handprints over the editing and shaping the scenes now, so BDDU not going to be too different from other BD shows. First you have the hot tub party and I think they've prodded Jamie to be extra annoying with insisting when meals are ready so they could have the friction between him and Aesha and then the thing between Captain Jason and Benny seems a little ginned up, the way Jason keeps going at Benny and Benny being extra-defiant to Jamie and Jason. So his whole "I can't take it no more, going to quit" while just at the start of the second charter looks dubious. Benny's probably motivated by the same things all these BD casts members are motivated by, get on a TV show, make some money, improve their profile so maybe they're no more reality shows and get bigger social media followings. Acting up or being noticed on the show is a good strategy to accomplish both. Jason certainly mixes a lot more with the crew, not just getting hands-on with tasks but paying their dinner bill, ribbing with them. I don't think he's going to be accused of hovering like Sandy in the galley, though he seems okay with what's going on in the galley. Until Aesha and Ryan have it out that is. So Bravo is still going to ride the interpersonal conflict leading to possible "firing" card probably at different times of the season. Thalassa is a temperamental super yacht. Maybe it's seen better days. First the thrusters and now the bathrooms backing up. Then you have to have some deck hand flake the anchor chain. Real issues or some of these are things which have happened to other BD super yachts but they chose to emphasize the issues on BDDU?

Why is changing clocks disruptive? more and more people rely on their phones, which change automatically. you still have to change in your car, old analog clocks, kitchen appliances. Contagious disease, that means public restrictions. But Bill seems more and more of the opinion that Covid is not serious. A million dead in about 2 years in the US alone. There are over 600k cancer deaths annually. Higher than Covid but how many Covid deaths would there have been without measures and vaccines? I agree you don’t need to wear masks outsides but the risk of infection isn’t zero. It’s very low but not impossible. I generally don’t but I ordered some food to go and rather than go outside and remove the masks, I kept it on because I was going to go back into a crowded restaurant to pick up the food and the N95 is kind of a pain to take off and put back on. but if the wait was longer I would have. Similarly if I’m driving from place to place, I keep the mask on for the short — 5-10 minutes — drive. I have a long flight coming up so glad there are lower amount of aerosols than there otherwise would be. But policymakers are under pressure to remove the masking requirement on flights. The requirement is set to expire in mid April unless it is extended but it’s an election year.

Is there suppose to be any tie between the characters in season 4 and the previous 3 seasons? Or just a different therapist and her patients? At first the sessions were interesting but it felt like it ran out of steam. Or at least it became a slog for me to finish after about half way through. I know they wanted to show each of the patients change and reveal their true selves over the 6 episodes devoted to each of them as well as show Brooke’s personal life and issues but it felt interminable at times.

Meh on the tantra couples counseling. Doubt it’s any long lasting breakthrough. Probably hoping for some old Jerry Springer moments. Seems like minimal time commitments from the cast this season. Were they at the resort more than a weekend? The blessification was also a couple of days at most. Maybe there will be a new season in a couple of months or they will put some mini seasons on Paramount + since they’re trying to really push subscriber numbers.

Title seems mostly to be about Benny, who's tasked with "flaking the chain" which is to go down into this confined space near where the chain for the anchor is reeled in and he has to push the chains so that they don't bunch up and get tangled. Benny hates it and cuts his feet, jumps out, says he can't do it. Culver, the former football player and hardcore fitness enthusiast does it with no complaints. For his antics, Jason awards Benny with his version of the dunce cap, a helmet with covered with mosaic of mirror tiles like a disco ball -- I thought he was polishing a disco ball. Benny refuses to wear it at the crew dinner. You'd think he could be a prime candidate to be fired, though no such talk yet. Let's see whether they will play the will he or won't he fire cast card. But Benny is licensed and apparently the main guy to pilot the rather large tender that they use when taking guests to snorkel -- so it may not be so easy to replace him. Snorkeling should be a key activity for the guests but they didn't devote much footage to it. First clash between Aesha and Ryan happens when the guests return from snorkeling and hang out in the hot tub, ordering drinks. Ryan starts plating and the crew, even captain Jason, starts taking up burgers and other dishes. But they have to get out of the tub and the food is likely to cool Ryan pouts, says they can't be reheated, that Aesha should have told them to go to table because the food is ready. Well no matter, these TikTok fools loved the food, letting it cool even more by photographing it before eating it. Looks like Bravo isn't going to miss a chance to get the cast drunk and into the hot tub.

Been to Sicily a couple of times. Never thought to look for luxury, Hawaiian type of resorts there. Island is a relatively poor area so you can have simple snacks like arancini and cannelloni or just having a granita on a hot summer day. I've no doubt there are high-end resorts but seems a strange choice. Maybe these actresses are dynamite, speak English very well, so that is why White is casting them and setting the season there. Sardinia, an island off the central coast of Italy, is more known for attracting wealthy clientele, especially around Olbia where you'd see luxury yachts. Or tiny Portofino on the mainland, known for expensive restaurants and again billionaire yachts in the marina. But looking forward to it.

House Hunters International - General Discussion

Belgium does have rural areas but it's much smaller than France. So maybe comes down to costs. They're both quitting their jobs and they can buy properties large enough for running a B&B in France more easily than in Belgium, perhaps. The place itself doesn't seem to be much of a draw, other than people wanting a real slow pace holiday along the river. But it's not too far from more popular tourist destinations so maybe that's the idea. I think they said he at least spent time in the summers with his family in the south of France? So maybe they have enough familiarity with the area. It doesn't have appeal to me, doesn't seem to have as many amenities as more popular areas. But I remember my grandparents talking about just getting away from the city and spending summers in the country, not doing things but just spending slow, long days. They once took me to a place with no electricity and I HATED it, even as a little kid. No TV or anything but pitch black by 8 PM. Good if you want to stargaze and maybe take photos of galaxies but not good for anything else.
