  1. Just catching up and not much to say. Elisa has Mike by the balls. She controls him to the point where I’d feel sorry for him if he wasn’t a cuckold who signs up for it. He’d probably thank her for stepping on his nuts. Ol Noble has sure dodged a bullet by getting out of what’s her name’s quest to get pregnant. Kenya is still a nuisance, but could that store interaction have BEEN more staged. (Read that as Chandler Bing, please). Kim was naive to think her parents would show up for a cookout. They were probably afraid they’d meet all her side pieces.
  2. I’ve wanted Nutsa gone since her audition, but at least she can actually stay in key. Lucy’s last 2 performances have been painful. There’s hope, fellow PTers. America voted to ditch these two once. Just gotta do that again.
  3. Note to all future contestants! If you want to get through, either writhe around on the stage like a stripper (even the fucking stripper didn’t do that; bet she wishes she’d known) or wave your arms around and act a damn fool every second that the show isn’t about you. Top 12 guaranteed.
  4. Hahaha. They made that one obvious. Lionel was working the crowd after her shit storm of a performance. But hey, she deserves it. After all, no one else has ever had children or “wanted it.” You know what, fuck this whole thing. The judges pretty much just put people through because they attention whore for the camera.
  5. I don’t see him actually winning. His act will get stale with everyone who doesn’t enjoy Hawaiian music, which is gonna be a pretty big chunk of the fan base. Right now, he’s the feel good, aww shucks, I’m so happy to be here feel good story. If it’s Mariah, I’ll be thrilled. I’m expecting a let down lol
  6. It’s gonna be her, Lucy or both. Which means somebody obnoxious is gonna grace our screens be forced upon us next week.
  7. America restoring a bit of my faith in their voting prowess. We need to get rid of Nutsa a month ago.
  8. I was making a thread when you made this one. Oops! Hopefully the mods will just delete mine. I’ll copy my thoughts over. Surprised to see Haven (forgettable) and Tyson (so forgettable I had to look up his name on the app) get through. Really annoyed that Mariah isn’t through, but I think she screwed herself going for a soul song last night. would somebody tell Lucy to stop attention whoring for the camera when Ryan is talking to other contestants? She’s approaching Nutsa levels of “LOOK AT ME!!!!” Well that Lucy performance was terrible. But I’m betting she gets a judge save. You know, she wants it and has kids. That’s pretty well all it takes, right?
  9. Exactly. I didn’t even mean it as a slight. If your passion is music and you can make some money performing regionally, it’s not a bad gig. I just can’t see anywhere in which Iam is gonna become a superstar who the world is clamoring to see. His songs have the same feel to them, and it’s obvious that he plays Hawaiian-style music. Just like Warren Peay probably isn’t ever gonna have much of a following outside of the southeast, and the list goes on and on.
  10. I like Iam, but I'm with you. If you've ever been to Hawaii, you've probably heard someone who sounds just like him at a bar or restaurant near the beach. Seems like a sweet kid, and as a musician I LOVE the story of his dad giving him the guitar...but that's about it. He's not gonna be a star, at least not in the continental US. He would probably develop a pretty solid following in the Hawaii music scene in the same way that people who aren't huge stars have good followings in their regional music scene.
  11. I agree with all of this. Zachariah is too over the top. Are we sure he isn’t a plant? Lucy’s entire gimmick is “I want this, I have kids.” Neither of them sing good enough to win, and Lucy’s performance of an original song was terrible. I’m not sure how you go that pitchy on a song that you wrote.
  12. I don’t have a ton of thoughts on this one. I’m fine with the people leaving getting voted off. Their performances in Hawaii were either forgettable or terrible. I like Warren, which isn’t a shock since I like Stapleton a lot. I also really like Mariah. My pick to win is still Mary Beth Byrd. Danielle is a really good. Paige Ann has really good vocals, but she’s gonna get boring fast. That’s one of the downsides of being on here at such a young age. Same could be said of Colin. He’s decent, but not great. Unfortunately, he’s probably not gonna get too much better while on this show, but may make it too far to be really be able to make another run a few years down the road. Im mildly amused at critics saying Katie is too mean. From where I’m sitting, none of these judges say anything critical of anyone. They should replace the term “judge” with “cheerleader.”
  13. People can use a VPN and set their phone's location to anywhere in the world. So people in Georgia could (in theory) vote through the app and make it look like they're in....Georgia (see what I did there?). It sucks that she's already got that kind of following because it means that we're gonna be stuck with her over-inflated sense of ego much longer than we should be. This makes me hope for some BS with the voting so maybe they'll just cut her. Way too much attitude for somebody with such marginal ability.
  14. Ha! So Katherine is gonna let the woman who was humping her husband handle her wedding? This pack of codependent morons never cease to amaze me. Meanwhile, Gary is hell bent on leaving his kid with some guy who…..has a car? That’s a helluva qualification. Gina and Rome really got bent out of shape about an attack ad? Welcome to politics, dear. When you interact with people outside of you 8-10 person “group,” this is what the rest of the world looks like. Sophie and Tyrell were the lone highlight of the last couple weeks…..so let’s take them off this episode completely. Good idea. Gives more time for America’s favorite couple, Eddie and De-bitch. i wanna be annoyed at Maggie singing, but once again, Allison Miller is so damn cute, and her being on screen is a good thing. Dammit. I know the trendy thing here is to hate Gary, but if they kill him off to end this show I’m gonna be so pissed off.
  15. Alright, finally a thread for last night. The judges are completely useless at this point. Even if I did chuckle at the fact that none of them really praised Nutsa's vocals after her...whatever that was. By and large, they offer nothing. It's just them making faces, standing to clap, spewing some random shit, and then sitting back down. Yay. Elijah managed to take a largely forgettable Chris Jansen song and make it worse. I'm not sure what the judges were hearing, but that didn't seem like any fun at all. He was off-key through the first part of the song and then seemed to struggle with keeping time with the band. Maybe he had monitor issues, but that performance was bad. I missed the announcement that Paige Ann was going to be coming back for the top 26 after getting cut. I didn't bother keeping count during the Final Judgement weeks, so I was a bit surprised we she took the stage. Holy shit, she nailed "Wrecking Ball." That was really really good. Mary Beth Bird is my pick to win the whole damn thing. Even if she doesn't, I think some country label will snatch her up. Cute, young, blonde, and can sing. She checks the boxes. "Heart Like a Truck" is a rangy song, and she held her own with it overall. She did seem to get a bit lost at the end, but I think she's safe. Good performance, even if it wasn't flawless. We Ani can sing, but the overall performance kinda lost me, and it seemed like she got a bit lost herself at one point when the band really kicked into second gear. Super talented young lady and I think she'll be around for a while, even if AI isn't going to let somebody who The Voice discovered win. Michael, Tyson, Dawson, Malik, Olivia and Hannah are all just interchangeable, boring, bland people to me. I don't remember what any of them sang, and I can't really say as I care. As far as Colin goes, this one hurts me because A) I'm a country music fan and B) I was listening to Chris Stapleton when he was with the Steeldrivers. But...this wasn't good. Not even a little bit. I'm trying to remember if there were any redeeming parts to me, and I can't come up with a single one. Eliminate Nutsa. Please, America. Eliminate Nutsa. That's all I've got. EDIT: I forgot Megan. I love that raspy Joplin-esque thing she has going on with her voice. Is she a great performer? No. But holy hell, that girl can SAAAAAAAANG.
  16. I don’t think votes count on any of these shows….or in general lol. I should probably steer clear of my conspiracy theories regarding politics HAHA
  17. She went to bed instead of practicing a duet. What was the partner supposed to say? "We decided not to practice?" Forget that. If I go down because you didn't want to practice, I'm gonna make damn sure everybody knows that.
  18. Oh, I had no issues with the shots of her. It was the post performance electioneering that annoyed me. I don’t need his wife on stage talking about what a great guy he is. I’m voting for the best singer, not the best husband. And I did throw some votes on him if those actually count.
  19. I have no idea how I forgot Zachariah! I'm still trying to figure him out. I keep thinking that he's so over the top that he has to be a production plant of some kind. It's almost like he's a parody of a performer...but he's really not bad. Some of his moves give me second-hand embarrassment, but he's really not a bad vocalist. I'm just sure about him.
  20. Why wouldn’t she? She kicked a coconut around the room. That means he has to be happy with whatever she does. At this point, I think ol Baba is just fucking with her. I feel like he has friends who he says “I’ll bet you $20 I can make this moron kick a coconut around the apartment.”
  21. Thanks for starting this. I wasn't sure what the etiquette was for starting show threads on the AI forum, so I didn't pull the trigger HAHA. By and large, I agree with most of your points. Kaeyra was absolutely a standout performer. Elise K did "Holding Out for a Hero" far better than I thought she would. I was fully expecting a trainwreck when she said what song she was singing. I do disagree with your Mariah Faith assessment, as I thought she nailed "You Should Probably Leave." I think Matt is an incredible singer, but it really annoyed me how they brought his wife up on stage to try to drum up extra votes for him. Dude can absolutely bring it vocally. I don't think AI needs to go above and beyond to make us want to vote for him. Haven didn't do well, but I'm with you. I hope she doesn't get punished for trying something out of the norm for her. However, Warren went outside of his norm covering Adele and proceeded to absolutely crush that IMO. Oliver didn't do anything that wowed me, but I think he did good enough to stick around. Kinda the same with Nailyah. Lucy, we all know you have kids and you're "a fighter." We get it. You want to be there. Her cover of "What's Love Got to Do With It" somehow managed to come across as a pretty good performance in spots and a weird karaoke rendition in others.
  22. I'd say Kris would love to get in with some "odd jobs" in Colombia...
  23. I want to be bothered by Kim (?) eating M&Ms off the table in a public place, but considering how many random things I’m betting she puts in her mouth, a little tabletop candy doesn’t seem so bad.
  24. Unless that thing is made of gold, I’m not sure how she found 3 men to put up with her. Even then, I think I’d invest in silver.
  25. 9 minutes in and I somehow find Kenya more annoying than she was a week ago.
